Query designer and WAD - always a empty 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN
Hello here,
I'am in ABAP SP13 and Java SPS13.
ABAP SID: BDV
Java SID: PDV
The portail works fine. The java tools from note 937697 is green. SSO and communication seems OK.
When i preview a query or a template, only an empty 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN comes.
No message, no error (on the screen and in the trace files).
Same thing from RS_MAINTAIN_TEMPLATE_70.
When i preview an iview with query directly from the protail, it works fine.
When i push "new analysis" from 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN, it works fine and my query is executed with the Bex Web analyser.
It seems that Bex web analyser iview doesn't see the parameters (TEMPLATE=... or QUERY=...).
Have you a solution for this mystery?
Thanks.
Alexandre
Hi,
The issue is bit surprising!!!
But is it happening for all the queries in Analyzer or only for this query? Because other query related parameters remains same for all the tools, I just want to check if it might be a connectivity issue?
Regards,
Durgesh.

Is there any transaction code for Report Designer,Query Designer and WAD
HI Gurus,
please tell me s there any transaction code for
1 Report Designer
2 Query Designer
3 WAD
Thanks in advance
PrashantHi Prashant,
We don't have any Transaction Codes for these.
Since these are installed along with the SAPLOGON BI components, it cannot be called using a standard transaction.
You have to use only .
Goto Start -> Programs -> Business Explorer -> Web Application Designer/Report Designer/Query Designer.
Hope it helps.
Reward with points if helpful.

Difference Beetween Query Designer and Adhoc Query Designer
Hello!
can any one explain me what exactly is Adhoc query designer and how is it different from Bex Query designer. can you please provide me links for Adhoc query designer (not to Bex query designer)
with regards
ashwinHi Ashwin,
See this link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1f/03223c5f00612be10000000a11402f/content.htm
Basically the Adhoc query designer is a web item that you can include in a web template to allow the user to create or change queries in the web environment. It has some limitations like you cannot use variables, and can only use one structure.
Hope this helps... -

Problem with Queries Structures in Bex Query Designer and Universe Designer
Hi everyone,
I have a problem when i try to do a Universe from a Bex Query Designer.
When I use a Characteristic Restrictions in a Structure, the universe only show me the structure without the objects inside it.
EJ:
1) Bex Query Designer
Colunms
(Structure) ZSRT_123
- (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Guayana
> (InfoObject) 0Product = 'XXX'
> (InfoObject) 0Country = 'YYY'
- (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Caracas
> (InfoObject) 0Product = 'AAA'
> (InfoObject) 0Country = 'BBB'
Rows
(Structure) ZSRT_456
(Key Figure) Net Sales
2) Universe designer
(Class) ZSRT_456
>(Measure) Net Sale
(Class) ZSRT_123
>(Dimension) ZSRT_123
The universe dont translate the two Characteristic Restrictions in the structure ZSRT_123.
Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.Hi,
I assume that you are using BOE XI 3.1 SP2.
We have added an option in SP2 to generate or not the L00 level.
Unfortunately this option applies not only on characteristics but also on hierarchies, hierarchies variables and structures: that's the reason why you have no elements belonging to the structure generated.
I recommend to always generate L00 in order to have your structure generated correctly.
This issue will be fixed in SP3.

BEx Query Designer and Exceptions
I have a simple enough task. I was tasked, with marking items on a query with an exception, however the value is not static. I have a column marked hours, and five columns for each day of the week. The current day with data should yield an exception if the current day has less hours the the calculated hours column. So my first approach was to create a formula where I evaluate both the hours calculated from the query and the current day. I called this field fday1. I created an exception stating that if fday1 = 1 then to mark the field Bad3. but I want the affected structure to be the Actual Day such my column days are: Day 1 (current date), Day 2 (current date + 1) etc... but when I visit the query (ie, adhoc query) only the formula field fday1 has the exception day triggered. In the exceptions list I define the keyfigure fDay1 (time of evaluation [before list calculation]) Under the display tab I have exception affects data cells for the following structure elements: Day 1 (current date).
like If I execute this query through the portal the exception shows up correctly on the proper field. if I execute the query through the adhoc (BEx Ad Hoc Analysis) view, then the wrong field has the exception.
any thoughts on a better way to approach this query?Nobody has a solution in order to highlight the whole row (characteristic and key figures) for a value of a key figure ?
With WAD or Query Designer, I'm trying to highlight a line with an exception on a key figure but it apparently colors only key figures.
For example i would have entire colored rows for negative key figure :
field1:a field2:x field3:e key_figure:1
field1:b field2:x field3:e key_figure:7
field1:b field2:y field3:e key_figure:-5
field1:d field2:z field3:j key_figure:1
I can use WAD or Query Designer but not Visual Composer or Report Designer...
Thanks for help. -
BEx Variable defined in BI 7.0 Query Designer and using in BW 3.5 Analyzer
Hi,
I have defined a variable in BI 7.0 Query designer for a characteristic which is present in characteristic restrictions area to restrict it . Ideally when that query is executed a pop up box should be opened to enter a value of the variable. But when that query is opened in BW 3.5 BEx Analyzer, instead of pop up box the error message " Error specify a value for the Variable ' Variable Name ' " has been displayed. Please help me to resolve this problem
<i><b>Details of Variable:</b></i>
Type: Characteristic Value
Processed by: Manual Entry/Default Value
Variable is : Mandatory
and Ready for input
No default values are defined for this variable.
Thanks
Hari Prasad.Hi,
Once a query opened and changed in the BI7.0 query designer u can not use the same query in lower version.
Thats the reason the error message coming.
If u need the 3.5 query just keep as it is , and copy the same query in different name and open it in the BI7.0 and do the changes.
Thanks,

Different in viewing the query in query designer and bex analyzer in BW Prd
hello...i transported the query from bw dev into bw prod successfully. when i view the query using query designer in prod, the query is the same copy of query in bw dev and QA but when i view the same query under the bex analyzer in prod, the query is not the same.
the correct query should be able to see 3 mandatory variable input but when i view it under the bex analyzer, only 1 mandatory variable can be seen here. Whereas when i view it under query designer, i can see the 3 mandatory variable being define there. And this query is assigned in one of the role as well.
any idea on this? thanks!!!i checked in rsrt in sap, the personalization of the variable is not in yellow color, i can see the 3 variable in bex analyzer but the other 2 variable which is a mandatory field input for that query appear as optional variable input instead of the mandatory field input...

Query designer and Standard deviation result rows
Hello everyone,
Here is my problem.
I have a key figure for which I do not want any decimals. So in the Number Format : Number of Decimal Places = 0.
I thought the result rows would follow the same rules by not displaying any decimals.
But using the Calculate Result as ... "Standard Deviation", even though my key figure is define with no decimals, the result row displays 5 decimals anyway !
Why? and is there any way I can suppress the decimals of my results rows with a Standard Deviation
Thx
JBF
Edited by: Jean-Baptiste Faubert on Jan 16, 2008 2:56 PMHello Jean,
First I would try to unmark flag 'Use default Settings' below Number of Decimal Places in Query Designer.
If this doesn't help you could set Decimal Places in the Provider specific Properties in Key Figure of the MultiProvider used from 'Not defined' to 0.
Also you could change the number of decimals in InfoObject maintainance of used Key Figure (in RSA1).
But then you have to check other queries where this Key Figure is used.
Kind regards

Portal Port to Publish in Portal via Query Designer and Web Application
Hello Gurus,
Recently we change the port from 50000 to 80 to do federated portal connection more transparent.
After this change I open for example the web application designer and open a web template and try to execute it.
This action pop up the web browser to show the web template, but there is a problem, the web application designer still openning the web template with the 50000 port.
The question is:
Where I change the port used for BEx Web Applications to execute the web templates or the BEx Web querys?
thansk for your help.

Query designer Vs. Netweaver
Hi All
I have some difficulties understanding the following. (SAP 7.0)
I have created a query in "query designer" - it has been designed to ask for either a month or a interval of days (none of them demandatory). When I execute the query from the designer it asks me to insert the data - wich is what I want
When executed through netweaver the query does not ask for any data.
Why this difference between the query designer and Netweaver?Search for 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and there is a "How to" paper on enhancing it. Basically that is the template used by default and it is set to not display variable screen. You make a copy, change the property and configure to used the copied version.
