Hi Satyam,
Include the Dropdown Box web item in your web template. In the Web Item Parameters tab, select the Data Binding type as Query View Selection. Assign the Dataprovider from Selection of Query Views button below the Data Binding Type. You also have the option to Display Specific list of Query Views or all views based on that Query. For this you have to choose Selection of Query Views button. Here you can turn on Specific List of Query Views checkbox and select the Views depending on your requirement.

Condition Reporting within a Web Template

We need create a condition that list the top 10 customer by volume and total for all other and a grand total. I created a condition for top 10 and it displayed the top 10 fine and a grand total. I can not seem to get a total for all other customers.

the conditions work globally on a report.. soo its quite normal that u see only top 10 customers in ur web templates as all other records are filtered out in the query and the over all total. It is not possible to see the over all total directly... might be u need to use some calculated key figure to know that value. or use some other query into ur web templates which filters out the customers in top 10 positions.

Calling query doc. (text file) from a web template with JavaScript

I would like to have an explanation of the following:
My goal is to develop a solution within a dynamic web template that supports calling of query documentation (description and purpose of the certain report). This query documentation will be provided from a textfile(e.g .csv) and presented under the information tab applying a text element web item. This will be done with query technical name acting as key with the following column structure:
Technical name Description Purpose
I really would appreciate if anyone could provide me with a more or less detailed solution proposal for this. Javascript etc.?

BI Query Designer - Conditions

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I have got on a query I am trying to create using a condition.
I have currently got the following:
Rows:
Sold To Party
Key Figures:
Order Count (A restricted Key Figure based on 0DOC_ITEMS)
Order Value (A restricted Key Figure based on 0NET_VAL_S)
I would like to be able to only count those orders where the value is less than £50 (For example if one customer has had 11 orders in a particular time frame, but only 7 of them were <£50 & want the report to only count the 7 & only show the value for those that were below £50.
Is this possible without creating anymore key figures or would the guys who look after the cubes have to set this up for me?
I didnt know whether is was a setting in my condition.

Sorry...I should have made that a bit clearer!
I have already got a condition based on my Order Value key figure for where Order Value < 50, but no matter what settings I choose it doesn't return what I know to be correct.
If I set it to Characteristic Assignment - All Characteristics, it doesn't return account number 100000 (The one where I know 7 out of 11 orders were below £50)
If I set it to Most Detailed Rows - It shows the same as the above
If I set it to Most Detailed Column - it returns account number 100000 but shows all 11 orders
If I set it to Individual Characs & Select 0Sold_To - it returns the same as the 1st 2 settings.

Benchmarking Key Figures in a query which is posted in a web template.

has someone experiences with benchmarking in a query?
What possibilitys do we have?
We want to show the following:
The query has in the rows the characteristic "sector" and in the collumns several figures. We navigate in this report via "filter and drilldown according to" to the next lower level. What we want to show is a benchmark of the figures of the lower level to the result of the first level. Example: The result of "sector1" is 150, "sector2 100" and so on and we navigate from sector1 to the belonging lower level "segment A, B, C, D". Now we want to see the information of the result of the filtered sector (150) as a benchmark to the associated segments A, B, C, D.
I know it is a bit complicated but perhaps someone has a good idea for a solution?

Assiging Query to Web template

Hi,
I was asked to add new query that I created to existing web template.
I have been able to Identify the web template that other queries are assigned to but don't know how to add my query to it.
for example
Template_ID=0ANALYSIS&Infocube=CCA&Query=cost_center
I would like to add my infocube and query (&Infocube=CCA&Query=cost_center) to the query template
Please tell me how I can manually maintain this in BI. I am using BI 7

thanks for your response.
I can easily add the data provider directly to the template but thats not what I want as the template doesn't have any dataprovider attached.
All reports in the web are using same web template so for maintenance purpose it cannot be done that way like you mentioned.
I know that the cube name and query name can be manually added to the template in BI as I have seen that before but cannot remember how is done or which transaction code to use to access it.'

Displaying name of the Used Query-View in a Web Template

Hello Experts,
I am using a Query View as Dataprovider in a Web Template.
Now I would like to display the name of the View.
But with a Text Element this isn't possible.
You can only display the name of the Query.
Is there a way to display the name of the used Query-View?

thank you for your hints.
We use a template to enable users to create Views.
So its dynamic.
That way we don't know the Name of the Views in advance.
(So putting the text into 'Title' is not possible)
We already use the "Query View Selection". This works out for users that are able to see different Views. (Power User)
But is it also possible to display the Query View Name in an Item or with html methods for those templates where there is only one View (as dataprovider) we don't know in advance?

Web Template not impacted after query changed and Transported

Hi. All.
                    We have modified the query and transported to production But query changes not been
impacted on Standard web teplate. But it works fine in Bex Analyzer.
                   Issue is there was a description was truncated earlier we used initially as short description.
Later we mapped to Medium description and modified the entire flow and loaded. It works fine.
                  Only in production we are not seeing correct description in web report and it works fine with Analyzer. So we need to ask the user as after executing the report he needs to change characterstic property from Standard to Medium.
But it would be bit inconvenience to users.
            So how can we solve this problem and why the query changes are not impacting on Web template.
Please provide your views on this issue.

Hi Vijay,
one reason might be if you use the option "personalization" within the web template. If users can personalize the templates changes will not be visible and have to be deleted at the time a new version of the query is provided. There are background tables for the personalization as well where you can delete all objects for this template at once if necessary.

Error BRAIN 276 when you execute a Web template in BI Admin Cockpit in EP

Hi Experts,
I have Installed BI Administration Business Packages in Portal and configured necessary steps in BI System.I have assigned the role in Portal and BI System.
I tried executing one iview...and was getting the following error:
Error loading template 0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0143
and when i click on the above error ..i was getting another window which shows below message:
Technical Information for Message:
Error loading template 0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0143
Notification Number BRAIN 276
I was suggested by SAP Note 1014795 to do the below changes :
TEMPLATE_ID=0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0143 To TEMPLATE=0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0143
Please note that the above note says to replace TEMPLATE_ID by TEMPLATE in the property of "BEX Web application Query String" of the IView in Portal
and also please note that i have Version=SAP BW 2.X/3.X in Iview Property .
After having made the above changes iam getting the BEX Web Analyzer...where i have the options to open a query ( from all the infoareas of BI System).and then i will select the query (0TCT_MCA1_Q0143) and am executing the same to display the data.
i know that this Is not the correct way of executing the iview for BI Admin Cockpit.
Can anyone help me how to execute the Web Template automatically when the user clicks on IView ?
we have all the above Web Templates Corresponding to BI admin cockpit in active mode in when checked from WAD 3.X , but when when i search for the above web templates in WAD 7.0 i do not find them
Is there anything that i need to activate in BI System ? Or in Portal System?
Or do i have to execute the above web templates in BI WAD before linking them to portal iviews?
Do we have to Migrate the Web Templates from BW 3.5 to BI 7.O?

We are having this exact same issue - example of one of the errors:: Error loading template 0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0114. We get this error for all MCA1 templates. Basis says they've deployed latest BP BI Administration 1.0 with Patch 2 (BPBIADMINOSP_2-1000342B.SCA).The info refers to BI Admin Cockpit, Business Package for BI Administration,
BP BI ADMINISTRATION 1.0 ,BI Usage Statistics,0TCT_CA1.
I see from documentationthat the multicube 0TCT_MCA1 is from 0TCT_CA1 and 0TCT_VCA1
From the documentation in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/26/9ef41d14dc424183b4807538be8e1e/frameset.htm, under web templates,
1) How come there are more than 1 template with same name and Query with same names- for example:
Web Template: Long-Term Trends in Total Runtimes of BI Applications
WebTemplate: 0TPLI_0TCT_MC01_Q0114
This Web template is the container for the query 0TCT_MC01_Q0114 and is designed to provide detailed analyses.
AND
Web Template: Long-Term Trends in Total Runtimes of BI Applications
WebTemplate: 0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0114
This Web template is the container for the query 0TCT_MCA1_Q0114 and is used for detailed analyses
2) How come the delivered process chains load other technical content, but does not load 0TCT_CA1
Basis re-deployed the bi admin cockpit contents, but still have error in loading template 0TPLI_0TCT_MCA1_Q0114.
3) Do we need to do any of the following?
SE38 u2013 run RSTCC_ACTIVATEADMINCOCKPIT_NEW
RSA1 - bi content, install & transport
Check role SAP_BI_BW_ADMINSTRATOR
Se38 u2013 rs_template_maintain for active templates u2013 look for MCA1 templated

Web Templates in Portal

Chaps,
    We've got couple of Templates built for BW Reporting.
    Now, in the SAP Portal I noticed that the BW reports are shown in different customized web templates.
    My question is,
    (1) Can we have multiple Web Templates published in SAP Portal for different BEx reports ?
    (2) If there is a default setting for the Web Template that we do in RSCUSTV27 T-Code, how can we still have multiple Web Templates for BW Reports in Portal ?

Hi,
You can use different web templates for your BEx Reports depending on your requirement. You can include your reports in webtemplates and then integrate these web templates in portal by creating Iviews.
The setting you make in Transaction RSCUSTV27 is for setting the Standard web template. This will be used
when you execute a query in BEx Web Analyzer ( from Query designer).
when you integrate a query in portal by providing the query name (instead of providing the web template name)
By default the standard web template used is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can override this using transaction RSCUSTV27 or SAP Reference IMG under SAP Netweaver -> Business Intelligence -> Reporting-Relevant Settings -> BEx Web -> Set Standard Web Templates.

If you want to utilise the Broadcaster/Precalculation,then activate a Web template (using which you want to perform this functionality,Go to RSOR Tcode->BI Content->BEx Web Template->Select Objects.(Eg:0ANALYSIS_PATTERN)Here find for any web template and trasnfer to the right side panel,then Install it.) from BI Content.If the Portal is configured properly,then you can use any of the web template,assign the query and broadcast.If you are broadcasting a precalculated query, created in Query Designer, then it would be 0QUERY_TEMPATE_BROADCASTING70.
SAP Notes;
If you have precalculated and distributed a query, it is displayed as a table with a filter area (according to the filters selected). From a technical viewpoint, the query is embedded in the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation (0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70).
If you have generated a report as a precalculated document, the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation (0REPORT_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING) is used; this template contains the Report Web item. You make the setting for the standard Web templates in Customizing under SAP Reference IMG ® SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Settings for Reporting and Analysis ®BEx Web ®Set Standard Web Templates.You can also specify another Web template, for example, one containing your company logo, as the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation or as the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation.
The broadcast setting is listed in the upper area of the BEx Broadcaster screen. This is where all broadcast settings that were created for this query or Web application are displayed. If you want to edit or delete the broadcast setting, choose Edit or Delete in the context menu of the setting.

Hi BWer,
The Ad Hoc Query Designer Web item is no longer available in the BI 7.0 runtime, only with the BI 3.x tools. The BEx Web Analyzer is the tool now used - you can create new query views from an existing query or directly against an InfoProvider.

Order of Input-Variables in Web Template

Hi,
I have a problem with Web Templates. I have prepared Web Templates in BI 7.0 WAD in which I am displaying multiple queries. Some input variables are common to all queries and some are only in the main query. I have set the correct order of the input vars in the main query, but when I run the Web Template, I get the common variables first and then the rest which is not okay for me.
Can anybody suggest how to overcome this problem? And display the variables in the order I want in the Web Template?

Why dont you insert a table in the WAD template and move the "buttons/variables" into the table rows/columns in the order you want them to appear.
That should work.

I have created a sample web template in WAD by using SAP BI standerd query.When I am executing the web template,it is redirecting me to some unintended web portal.I know the correct portal URL.Can anybody tell me where the redirecting portal URL settings are maintained in BI/BEx/WAD??

By the navigation you mentioned,I was able to identify where exactly I have to change the URL prefix.However,when I am saving the changes I made to URL prefix,system is redirecting me to "Varient Attributes" screen.I don't know what exactly this screen is about.Please help..
