Query designer execute the query some of key figure showing as * value

Hello All,
I am executing the query from Query designer, executed in web in Mozilla Firefox browser some of key figures values were showing as * value.
same query i run through RSRT its showing value for example: value is 615574389.260
if the value is more then web cannot display the result? how to correct it, Thanks!

Hi Ranga,
Does your Key Figure also have unit? Usually we get * when records with different units are aggregated. As you cannot add 1 EURO to 1$, * is displayed.

Hi,
key figures in my query are showing incorrect values NO CALC POSSIBLE
Data in the cube is coming from different datasources and the cube is compressed.
this is how data in the cube looks like

How do I resolve in query or cube level so that the NO CALC possible is not displayed.

Indeed my cube is a copy of 0IC_C03.
Could you please explain more about the filtering.
I have the following key figures
0TOTALSTCK
0ISSTOTSTCK
0RECTOTSTCK
ZISSSTCK_VALUE
ZREC_VALUE
ZTOTSTKVALUE
ZTOTSTKVALUE is CKF with inflow and outflow of ZISSSTCK_VALUE
ZREC_VALUE
Whenever there is 0 it displays NO CALC possible. I would like to have it blank or 0s.

Select the Key Figures to be presented in a query before execute the it

Hi,
I want to select(through checkbox) the Key Figures to be presented in a query before executing the query. I'm creating BEX queries and web templates (I'm working on BEX 7.0).
I haven't found clear post about this so if you have implemented something like this please help me and share your solution.

Hi,
If you set a property of your KF as "Hide and can be shown", you will get a filter option for these KFs after executing the report in the navigational block of web report.
When you click on that filter, you will get the list of KFs, then you can select the desired KFs using check box.

When I am executing The Query from Report Designer, am getting the below error.
Please help me in this regard.

Hi,
The web template 0ADHOC is usually the standard web template for 3.x queries. The Report Designer executes the reports in java web, thus tries to find the template 0ADHOC in the 7.0 templates and does not find it. Check whether you have maintained the standard web template 0ADHOC for 7.0 reports also:
Transaktion SPRO -> SAP Reference Image -> SAP NetWeaver -> Business Intelligence -> Settings for Reporting and Analysis -> Bex Web -> Set Standard Web Templates

How to search in BI 7.1 query designer for the required key figures & chars

Hi All,
Can anyone plz tell me how to search in BI 7.1 query designer for the required key figures & characteristics. I have the query being built on a multiprovider which has many cubes.
So, i have a huge list of key figures and characteristics. I am not able to search for the required one by the name or the technical name.
How can we search and pick the required object from the enormous list of the Mutliprovider in the Bex Query Designer??

There is not a search feature available. You have to do an educated guess under what dimension your infoobject could be and select.

Please help on how Bex execute the query designed in query designer.

When u execute the query...It will fetch the Global filters data first ....means filters on Default values....then restrictions on Char Restriction pannnel....Then calculate the RKF and CKF,s....Conditions and Exeptions etc.......

Query Designer, Execute fails with missing iView (Portal Runtime Error)

Hi,
I have followed all steps to integrate Sap NetWeaver 2004s BI into EP. Checks done so far indicate that all is well between the EP and BI. From within the EP, I can execute the Bex Web Analyser iView and from there I can execute a query on the BI backend. From the BI backend, executing the function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST returns the 'BI test service' success message. SSO is working fine as no user/passwords were prompted for. From the trace file, I can see no errors appear but I do see authentication success messages. So far, so good
But, when I execute a query from within the Query Designer, it calls the browser and then errors with the following error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.
Exception id: 10:06_03/03/06_0012_26285450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Looking at the trace file, all it tells me is the same, that this iView is not found.
If I logon to the portal and have a look at the iViews within the 'platform-add-ons/bi' folder, I can see the following 4 iViews:
BEx Broadcaster (com.sap.ip.bi.bexbroadcaster)
BEx Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.bexportfolio)
BEx Web Analyser (com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer)
My Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.myportfolio)
I cannot find the missing iView (com.sap.ip.bi.bex).
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Here is what happened:
1. I have run the deploy and change template again (BIPostInstall). Step 10 failed but I am not too concerned as it does appear that SSO is working both directions. Also, step 13 failed which is the 'Configure Repository Manager'. The error I got here was USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "" not found. I am not sure where it is getting the blank userid from.
2. The 'com.sap.ip.bi.business_explorer_showcase' role suggestion looked very promising. I found some doco on it and it does mention this role and when assigned, then you see the Business Explorer tab. I assigned it to all users and to all groups. When I went back into the portal, sure enough, the Business Explorer tab was visible. From within there, I could run query which all worked fine.
BUT, when executing a query from within the BEx Query Designer, I still got the same error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.

Do you know if this is an actual iView that should exist in the portal content ? If you have this working, can you see this iView in the portal?
3. I had a look at this note (872043) but I could not get the sap download manager to work to get the zip files attached to the note download. If you have it still, could you email it to me ([email protected]) and I will try that. Did you apply the zip file?
I can't find any further trace information on why this missing iView error is happening. I've amended the severity level on the areas which a SAP note detailed but the only information I get is that a missing iView was called.
Function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST still works fine and I can execute a query from the Web BEx Analyser iView.
I just can't execute a query from the BEx query designer due to the missing iView.
I don't know whether it is a communication problem even though SSO both directions seem to work OR whether I do have some content missing from my portal.

When I am trying to open a Query in the Query Designer I am getting the error, like
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPCo) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPEmp) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BP R) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BP-P) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPSh-P) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPSldTo) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPSrvEm) must be uniquely selected in the query
Error Characteristic BP in Ext.Sys (BPR) must be uniquely selected in the query
It may be due to a characteristic 0BP_EXTERN- Previous Account Number which is a Navigation Attribute of all these characteristics,
*0CRM_SOLDTO, 0CRM_SHIPTO, 0CRM_BILLTO, etc etc. So all these characteristics which are associated with 0BP_EXTERN are having some problem.
All those Queries where 0BP_EXTERN is used are having the same issue. There used to be no issue till yesterday, I was able to execute the Query.
Can anybody help me solving this issue??

Also, when I went to InfoObject Properties,
Business Explorer--> Selection --> "Unique for Every Cell" (this option is selected for the InfoObject 0BP_EXTERN),
Or will it work if I select the option "No Selection Restriction".

Query designer - in the columns i have two keyfigures but report should be

we have one query -to display BUDGET / ACTUAL data -
in the columns i have taken BUDGET and ACTUAL Keyfigures.
In the Free characteristic i have taken FISCPERIOD and VALUE TYPE as varible entry for the user.
while executing report if they give value type as budget the report displays as below
               BUDGET    ACTUAL
sales          500
if they enter value type as Acutal the report displays as below
               BUDGET    ACTUAL
sales                       120.455
here the user is expecting to see only one keyfigure value in the report
If they enter value type as ACTUAL they want see as below
                       ACTUAL
sales               120.455
If they enter value type as BUDGET they want see as below
               BUDGET
sales          500
Could you please guide me how can we achive this.
In simple words i have 2 keyfigures in the columns but in the report only one key figure should be displayed.

Hi,
It seems you are using a key-fig based model where as your reporting requirement conforms with an account based model. For example you have data in infoprovider as :
Fiscper    Valtype   Budget   Actual
001.2010    Budget    100       --
001.2010    Actual     ---         120
If possible, try to reload the infoprovider like below :
Fiscper    Valtype     Sales
001.2010    Budget    100
001.2010    Actual     120
Then you will have no problem in reporting
However, if you can't do so and using excel based reporting then you can use the idea of output template with some VBA help like below :
1. Hide the query output in a different sheet.
2. Refer to the current sheet only the value of the characteristics and for key figure write a BExgetdata function with an excel if condition which will read from the text cell which shows the value type and based to that value type will fetch the key figure of your interest from that cell.

Error in executing the query

Hi Gurus,
We have 5 queries on a multiprovider which is built on two cubes,one query is not getting executed and all other queries are working fine, we are restricting the query for one cube which has only 32 records, all these queries are working fine in dev sys and in the quality we got this error for one query .

From this we can come to the conclusion that, whether to use one index or not by oracle
would also depend on the data which is present in the table. This has to be this way as
we see in the bind peeking, if oracle sticks to only one plan, say only use the full table
scan, it would be a performance hit when it searches for the second query ie where object_name
='emp';
2.
If we have a query like below.
select * from emp
where upper(ename) = upper(:p_ename);
Evenif we have the index on ename column, oracle wouldn't be able to use the index, as there is a function in the predicate column. If you need oracle to use the index, we need to create a function based index as below.
Create index idx_ename on emp(upper(ename));

Query not opening due to the error in Calculated Key Figures

Hi Guys
I have created 10 CKFs based on the replacement path type of formula variable using the attibutes of the charectistic Info Object which has been added to the cube.
I am getting the error to open the query while executing it with some of the 10 CKFs is u201C Value '' is invalid for property 'Dimensions' of element 'Formula variable for calculation of Score for Potentialsu2019u201D
My question here is : Why should we get the error only for some attributes and other are working fine from the same charectistic. Will there be a problem with the master data object/dimension or problem in the variable definition.
Any help will be appriciated.

Cancelling a dashboard report to execute still executes the query behind

All,
We have some reports thats takes time to execute like 3-4 minutes. My problem is if I cancel any report to execute, it still executes the query. I can see the query thru sessions under nqsserver.exe as ACTIVE.
Because of this user are thinking that they cancel the reports and move on to new one but oracle is still spending time to execute that query.
