Query fromOne cube to another

Hai Experts,
A query is working on one cube 1. and i we have created the cube 2 with the same properties and i want to work this query on that cube 2 also.
Can we copy the query and work the query on the Cube 2
How can i do this?

Dear Hi,
Go to the transaction code RSZC
There mention the Source infoprovider name (Cube 1) and destination infoprovider name(Cube 2).
and execute it.
this will copy all the query components you have created on Cube1 to Cube2

Hi,
For copying queries from one cube to the another use Tcode :RSZC.
If you have RKF and CKF in the queries,
then only those RKF's and CKF's which are used in the query will be copied(Only those which you use in the structure).
One more important all the keyfigures will be copied with Technical name as _1 at the end.
i.e: if you have a KF called AVERAGE with Techname as <b>OSD_AVG</b> then this will be copied as <b>OSD_AVG_1</b>.Meaning you cannot define your own Tech names.

How-to copy a query from a cube to another cube w/ the same structure?

Does anybody know if it is possible to copy a query, in the same system, from a cube to another cube (or multi-cube) which has the same structure?

also you can do this another way. from the main menu of BW go to Business Explorer---> Query -
> Copy.

Aggregation of data from one cube to another

Hello,
   I would like to copy the data of one cube to another cube, at an aggregated level like we do in BW.
   For instance, cube A has cost center, while cube B has to be the totals of all the cost centers from cube A. And hence, cube B will not have a field cost center at all.
   Could someone help me on this topic please.

Hi dear,
it's enough to do not put in your copy cube the cost center (the OLAP processor when you execute a query will do the rest)!
Otherwise, if you want to have all the records PHYSICALLY AGGREGATED, you have to go with an ODS as destination (and here you can aggregate as you prefer on the basis of your key part !)...
Or you can aggregate all the records in a single data package with a SUM operation into an internal table in your start routine (without the cost center, clearly !)...

Where are you in the process ?
If you don't have build the metadata for OLAP, do it first.
Here a beautiful example :

Once you can query your OLAP cube, create all the join in the physical layer for your ROLAP source.
Drag and drop the ROLAP fact measures on the measure of the OLAP cube
and add the ROLAP column dimension table to your OLAP dimension table.
At this point, you can then create the new ROLAP level in your dimension.
Just add the new ROLAP dimension column in the presentation layer and you're done.
The trick is that normally you don't have the same dimension column in your MOLAP and ROLAP environment.
In this way, OBIEE will choose the good dimensional schema (ROLAP or MOLAP).

I need to pull the data for a 4 fields from an existing info cube to another cube. Can any one let me know the procedure of how to do this.

scenario cube1 --> cube2
1) load data into cube1
2) cube1 > export datasource > it creates the ds with 8cube1
3) rsa1 > source systems > myself sourcesystem > replicate datasources
4) cube2 > rt clk > create update rules
5) map the update rules for the 4 fields and activate
6) rsa1 > infosources > search for 8cube1 > create infopackage and load data.

Move data from one cube to another cube

Hi,
I am on BW 3.5 and I have moved the data from one cube to another cube and found that the number of records in the original cube does not match to the newly created cube. for eg. if the original cube contains 8,549 records then the back up cube contains 7,379 records.
Please help me on what I need to look on and if in case the records are getting aggregated then how do I check the aggregating record.

Dear tyson m ,
check with any update rules in ur transfer.If so check in it.
Just go through these methods for making transfer from one cube to another cube fully without missing data.
Update rules method
if it's updated from ods, you can create update rules for cube2 and update from ods
or you can try datamart scenario
cube1 right click 'generate export datasource'
create update rules for cube2, assign with cube1
rsa1->source system->bw myself, right click 'replicate datasource'
rsa1-> infosource -> search 8cube1 name
(if not get, try right click root note 'infosource'->insert lost node(s)
from that infosource, you will find assigned with datasource, right click and 'create infopackage', schedule and run.
Copy from
While creating the new cube give the cube name in the "Copy from" section. It would copy all the characteristics and Key figures. It would even copy the dimensions and Navigational attributes
Another option is:

Java.sql.SqlRecoverableException error while querying the cube

Hi
I get the following error when I try to query the cube from a Java program
java.sql.SqlRecoverableException: no more data to read from the socket.
This error occurs sometimes and sometimes it does not occur.
We observed that if many people simultaneously try to query the cube the error crops up.
Is this a bug or is there a solution or a method to deal with this sort of situation

That sounds like the connection to the database is not there, or was dropped. Check that you are not maxed out on the number of processes.

Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS ; Query on ODS takes Long time

Hi All,
Perormance Issue: Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS.
Query on ODS taking long time.(JumpQuery)
Specific to ODS Query: When i have checked the Query on ODS(individually) also taking longer time
Actually ODS contains quite huge data. Indexes already maintained.
I have checked the RSRT- Execute SQL and Debug Option also. Indexes maintained Perfectly .
Order of objects in ODS indexes are matching the order of Objects in SQL stat of RSRT Trans. Inspite of that taking long time.
I have checked both the ways jumpquery aswellas individually .
My question is when the query is jumping from cube to query on ODS how to check the performance, how the query is executing in background when switching over to the second query, Moreover calculated keyfigure has been used for jumping to the target query.
How can query(ods query) time is optimized or improve performance when jumping from query on Cube ?
can any body help?

What i understand is that you need to optimise the Query jumping time . But this will be very less compared to the time taken by the query on the ODS.
Ideally you shouldnt be making a BEx Query on the ODS , as this takes a long time. What you can do is try executing the Bex Query on the ODS to find out as to where the issue lies. If this query is taking a long time , there is not muich that you can do here.

Inventory data load from Inventory Cube to another Copy Cube

Hello Experts,
I am trying to load Inventory data from the Inventory cube(say YCINV) to a copy cube say YCOPY_CINV(copy of Inventory cube), but the results appear inconsistant when I compare the reports on these 2 cubes. I am trying to populate a fiield in copy cube so that I can populate the same data back to the original cube with the new field in it, I am doing this reload back and forth for historical data purpose only.
I have seen lot of posts as how to run the setups for Inventory data, but my case does not need to perform set up runs.
Does the note 1426533 solve the issue of loading from one cube to another ? we are on SAP BI 7.01 with SP 06 ,but the note specifies SP 07 ?
I have tried note 375098 to see if it works, but I do not see the options as mentioned from step "Using DTP (BW 7.x)" in BI to perform this note
Please advise on whether to go with implementing note 1426533 or is there any other way to load inventory data from one cube to other.

I do not see any setting like Intial stock in DTP except "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative". I did try using the option "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative" ,but the results still do not match with the inventory cube data.I do not see the check box for marker in the copy cube (under roll up tab). Please let me know if we can really implement this solution ,i.e. copying from inventory cube to copy cube and then re-loading it back to inventory cube for historical data. Currenlty, I am comparing the queries on these 2 cubes, if the data matches then I can go ahead and implement it in Production, other wise it would not be wise to do so .

Cube to Cube Load
You need to move some data from one cube to another.
The steps involved are :-
First You need to create 'Export Data Source' from original cube (right-click on the InfoCube and select Generate Export Data Source).
Then, assign the new datasource to new cube. (you may click on 'Source system' and select your BW server and click 'Replicate').
Then, Create DTP and execute.
Lastly, you are ready to load.

Sample needed to query BW cube

I have two BW(BPC) cubes which are HANA enabled. I have heavy data processing logic currently in BADI and I am trying to push that into HANA DB layer, possibly as a SQL procedure.
1) Can someone point me to some sample/direction to achieve this
2) Any samples on how to query BW cubes and update them back

Sorry coz i didn't tell you that I'm using Business Object, crystal report . Thru crystal report I want to extract data from BW cube or Query. In other word, the database connection is from BW server.
I try to design the report thru OLAP report and extract multiple cube from BW, and i'm only can see one of the cube. The others cube I can't see. And then i try to retrieve data from existing cube that i can see, and i got this error 'Database Connector Error: 'Function module "/CRYSTAL/MDX_GET_STREAM_INFO" not found. Where can i get the function module.
Can you help me on this.

Copy of essbase data from one cube to another

Hi,
I was faced with a situation wherein I needed to retrieve the data calculated in one essbase cube onto another essbase cube.
The catch remains that the outline would be slightly different in both cases.
Also is it possible for me to retrieve only the required output (through some kind of export data) and then re-import the data into the required essbase cube.
Kindly help me in the same.

You can use both calculation & report script to export subset of cube (In your case, export member those match in both source & target cube) in following ways: -
In Calculation Scripts: 1- Use DataExportOptions to define format for export.
2- Use DataExportCond to define export condition if you want to apply any kind of restriction of exported data.
3- Use Fix....End Fix command to define subset of cube
4- Use DataExport command to export data that define above.
In Report Script: - 1- Use format commands to define exported data.
2- Use Row/Member selection commands to define subset of cube.
