Query in MSS

Hi All,
This is regarding the MSS Salary Planning Module on SAP Enterprise Portal.
We have observed the following:
a) Salary Planning of ECM Module in SAP MSS Business Package fetches all the fields from the object and data provider framework.
b) EC_PERCENT ( Percentage or Increase Percentage) is Standard SAP Delivered Columns.
c) We have made the Increase Percentage as an Input field in the Application.
d) We observe the Soft Warning messages generated in the Application whenever the Increase Percentage crosses the range of allowed percentage
( example: if the employee hike must lie in 2.00 to 4.00 % , user enters 5.00% hike, the warning message is displayed as " salary planning - percentage of xxx exceeds upper limit of 4.00% " ).
e) Upon successful validation, the increase percentage amount is stored in PA0759-CPPCT for the corresponding employee
Query:
We need to know, where is the upper limit and lower limit for increase percentage is set.

Adhoc Query on MSS Report

Hi Experts,

Hi,
You can remove it by following ways
Go to SPRO
Then follow following path
Integration with Other mySAP.com Components -> Business Packages / Functional Packages -> Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) -> Reporting -> Set Up LaunchPad
and execute
then you can get the list of the REports
over there you can see "Birthday List" Report and Deactivate it
Please execute this steps before the executing the steps i have mentioned above, this will activate the reports used for MSS. Then gofor moving the unwanted reports unactive folder. Just what you have to do it select the unwanted report and move it down to the inactive folder.
1. In the SAP HCM System choose:
SAP Easy Access Menu
Transaction SE38
2. In the ABAP Editor: Initial Screen enter the Program FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES and choose Execute.
3. In the Report FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES screen select the MSS Reporting and MSS with Folders options and deselect the checkbox Test Run.
4. Choose Execute. The sample entries are entered in the Report Launchpad in the portal.
5. Log on to the portal with User manager1 and check if the sample entries are displayed.
6. In the ECC system leave the transaction and go back to the SAP Easy Access Menu.
7. Enter transaction PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA in the Command field.
8. In the Report to convert MDT table entries to LPA table entries screen, enter the MDT Scenario RPT0 and deselect the Test run checkbox.
9. Choose Execute. The list in the next screen shows the reports which have been added to the Report Launchpad.
Do not forget to select MSS with Folders for the FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES report. Otherwise you may get short dumps while editing the report launchpad, because the reports coming from the Manageru2019s Desktop do not have folders.

SAP Query in MSS - Not Data

Hi Sap Experts,
we added a custom query as described step by step in MSS Business Package (HCM Reports).

After this steps the Query appears in the Reportlist and you can process it without any error message. But the result list does not contain any data.
When we test the query in backend there are data in the result list.
The Testuser has SAP ALL.
So I assume we have to do something else additionally to the steps described in MSS Business Package.
So what is the reason?

The Reason was the following:
We were using a query that is based on logical database PCH so the
reporting iView tries to fill in the objects the user has selected
in the iView into the fields planversion, object type and object id.
We had to use a different query to get the expected result:
Instead of using a PCH query and accessing Personnel Administration
data (infotyp 0001 for example) out of this PCH-query we now
use a query that is based on PNP/PNPCE.

Query in MSS does not reflect selection on period

Hi group,
I have made a query in global area. In MSS I am calling the generated program from the query. This works fine. However, the selection on period in MSS does not reflect on the report. No matter what I choose, the report gives me the date period that I have set up in my variant in the background.
The selection screen for the report is the standard delivered with LDB PNPCE.
I have tried different date setup in my variant, but no matter what I do, I am not able to choose dynamically period from MSS.
Any help is appreciated

Hi,
You can display the reports in the portal directly or through creating the iviews in the PCD content.
Directly Displaying the query in the portal options:-
Option 1. Go to the query designer >Open any Query>Select Execute.
The report will be displayed in the portal.
Option 2. Go to the query Designer> open any Query>In tool select Query.select Publish>To Portal.
Creating the Iviews:-
1. In your portal PCD content create the iview for the xisting query and assing the iview to page anf page to workset .
Assign th page to any role in the portal , through tis roles you can directly log in to the portal and access the query in the portal.

Missing query in MSS (NWBC)

The query "Working Time approval" as seen in MSS powl is missing only for a specific user but visible for all other MSS users....checked the profile/roles but seems to be in sync...can i have inputs for other places to look and how to troubleshoot this issue:

Query regarding MSS reports

Hi,
For some MSS reports ( Staff Assignments, Position Description, Bonus report, Staff Gains, Staff Losses, Nominal Rolls, TWA Reports) when executed for "Direct Reports" and "All Employees" from the drop down, showing error as " You must select atleast one suitable object before starting the report" although all the employees or atleast one of them is selected. It would be great if anyone can suggest as to what is causing this error?

Only way you can get all those iviews is transport those iviews from other systems like QA ,Prodif they are already installed on them.
I suggest you create a copy of standard role and work on it

BW reports for MSS via Portal

Hello,
I'm trying to start BW report from MSS without any luck.
I created a function code for the report with function type BWR3 in R/3 IMG for Manager's desktop.
I Enterd the function code in table T77MWBBWS (the table is not in the IMG !) with :
object type = 'O', Reference char. = 0ORGUNIT ,
BW rep.temp. ID = ZHR_ZHOP (the tecnical name of the BW report).
When trying to start the report from Portal-MSS i get error message
" java.lang.NullPointerException "
I don't know if I created the function code correctly (On documentation
only example for SAP Quary Report exist).

I am having same issue. I want to integrate custom BI Query in MSS but its giving null pointer exception even after maintaining entries in T77*BW table.
I am hoping that you could have solved issue by now. If yes, please share end to end configuration steps.

MSS custom query restrictions (table/view/join)

Dear all,
We are currently trying to integrate a sap query which also gathers data from event management. This query is based on an infoset and a table view and not on a logical database.
When executing the query within the portal (generictableview iview) we get the error message "No data records found". While debugging the function module HR_INFO_GET_USING_QUERY which is called here we found out that the error message is generated because no logical database is retrieved.
Therefore my question is: are mss queries in portal restricted to queries which are based on logical databases only or can we create and use queries in portal which are based on table/views/joins?
Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated!

I am still searching and I have not found a solution yet.
Interestingly enough the query can be executed without any problems in R/3 but not from the portal iView. Therefore I am wondering if it is only a restriction on the MSS side.
@forum users: did anyone of you face this problem and has a solution to it?

Reports in MSS... Same as Ad-hoc query??

Hi experts.
I have developed some reports in Ad-Hoc Query that pulls through HR data into MSS... If I create subtotals on my report in Ad-hoc query then I can collapse and expand data per employee which would be really cool for managers to use also...
As standard would this functionality be replicated in the MSS Portal?? Or would the data come through is a standard table of data?? does it depend on the portal at all?
Any ideas on how we could test this or even implement it would be great. We have managers with 4-5 employees but each employee has possible 10+ absence quotas (don't ask why) so if the manager could see an overview per employee and then expand for a single employee it would be a really great solution.

Integrate Sap Query into ESS and MSS

Hello

for the intergration of SAP Query.
However i am getting stuck at step 6 as it appears RP_MSS_CONVERT_MDT_TO_LPD_CUST
does not exist and ideas what i am missing.
So i have had to convert my MDT scenario using PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA
From there i have then been able to run program APB_LPD_LPA_CUST_TO_LPD_CUST
which has converted it into a launchpad in LPD_CUST, however once there it has no system alias defined for my applications so they won't launch and the launchpad entries for managers desktop don't give me a system alias option.

Hi Adam,
what release are you on? Do you use any Add-ons? The document you are following is written for EHP6, and I think MSS Add-On 1.0 is also needed as this add-on brings the WD ABAP applications for MSS.
The report you don't have in your system is located in the WDA specific package for MSS, so I think it comes with the Add-on. The transaction you use for launchpad generation is the "old" one, that can be used from Enterprise Portal. Inside portal, you have a launchpad iView with properties for the scenario and the system alias.
Do you have a possibility to install MSS Add-On 1.0? This should solve your problem and let you follow the guide.

MSS - Workflo Tasks Query setting - View Delete

Hi SCN Members,
No delete option is enabled to delete the standard view for MSS - Workflow Tasks in Query settings. Please refer attached screen shot, this view has strange field names.
Please let me know if there is option to delete/hide.

Hi Naddy,
It is not possible to enable the 'SAVE' and 'DELETE' buttons, for 'STANDARD VIEW' but you can do for 'SAPInitial' View.
Just you need to 'ADD' or 'REMOVE' some columns in the SAPinitial View then it will activate 'SAVE'. Once you click on SAVE for your changes then it will activate the 'DELETE' button.

MSS Report Export to excel - ERROR - load: class query not found

Hi All,
I am navigating and getting error as follows:
Manger Services ->My reports -> Report Selection -> HIS Reports -> General -> Employee Details -> add some people and click start report -> report shows -> click local file -> save as spreadsheet get ERROR - load: class query not found in the status bar or IE and IE then locks up
Please reply if any one has some clue.

Hey Vishal,
This issue gave us a very hard time. The query was HRIS manager. when you add some attributes to be exported to excel and then select export. It hangs there. or hangs at the step where you select save as spreadsheet, OR after it where it runs a query to export.
I came to know that Java JRE is used in the last step. So for solving this issue, go to java.com, on the first screen there will be big link to install java(i guess JRE). install it and then try exporting your query. I am sure it will work.
Just notice that after doing installation of Java you will get coffee cup in you system tray.
