Query: Layout Width

Hello,
Could I increase the width of my query more then 133 chars?
If I set it to 162, the system reset it back to 133.
Any Idea?
Regards,
Tommaso

If a list is already displayed with optimized column width in the standard system, you can alter the column width according to your requirements using Change layout. To revert to the optimized column width, choose Settings ---> Columns -->Optimize Width.

  • Report Layout width(Report based on SQL Query)

Is there any way to increase the width of the report layout? I have removed as many columns as I can and dropped the font size down but the data in the columns is still wrapping to more than one line. How can I increase the report layout width, or change the layout to landscape or something similar.
    thanks

I had this problem with wrapping text. You have to create a Reports From SQL Query and choose a custom layout. Then when you go the the HTML layout section, you will need to ad nowrap to the <TD> tag (i.e. <TD nowrap>) for each field you do not want to wrap.

  • Doing user query layout

    Hello All:
Does anyone have experience with user designed query template? It seems I have no way to customerize the width (fix width) of a column or do anything with the data. (calculate sub total etc)... In my own template (which strictly copied from system default template, I can delete the title, row text file and still the report bring out data. Does that mean I have no way to customerize the output?
Anyone have documentation I should be following?

    Bo,
Query Print layout > User Report (System)  can be saved as your own template.
You can then open your new Query Layout template and pretty much change the Page width, size, header, footer, hide fields, borders and almost everything including the default printer, grid size, fonts, etc...
You will not be able to define the individual field positions of Title and Row variable which represent the query data i.e., Repetitve Area Header and Details.  This is mainly because the number of header and line values will purely depend on your query.
NOTE:  Please do not delete any field from the template as everyfield in there is linked to something or the other.  You may resize them to
    Left = 0, Top = 0, Width = 0, Height = 0,  and also hide them.
One draw back of Query layout template is, the Query once generated as a template if changed will not reflect in the Query layout.  You have to redo a whole new Query Print layout for the changes to reflect.  If you are 100% sure with the query only then you should click <b>"CREATE REPORT"</b> and generate the layout.   The Query layout cannot be added to the user Menu as the Print layout will not work.  It can only be viewed on the screen.

    Hi All,
If any one come across the following situation please provide the solution as soon as posssible.
When you execute the query the results are not displayed as fields are not copied under display column, not sorted, not filtered becos of this the query results are not displayed. Is there any solution are setting that need to be done so that the layouts fields are copied, sorted and filtered as they were before upgrade. I have checked all the query variants and they are imported correctly to ECC from 4.6c,there is problem only with the display.
Is the query layout changes due to upgrade?

  • Adding a field in already existing query layout

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where I have to add couple of fields in an already existing query layout.
Through SQ01 and layout painter I have added the fields to the layout. When I test from query painter it displays the newly added fields. But when I execute the transaction that is designated to run the query its not displaying those fields.
    What am I missing here?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Arun,
As you have done some changes to the query, the internal report generator will generate a new program correspponding to the Query which should be attached to the T-code.
Currently the t-code might be having the earlier program name ie the program generated by the query before changes were made hence it is not displaying.
Just check the program name of the Query and the  program name attached to the tcode.

  • Query layout designer

i have generated a report in sap buisness one using query layout designer.now i want to deploy that report in another machine.
how to deploy query layout designer?

    Hi Atasi,
You can use Copy express add-on to copy the Query and the Query Print layout from one database to another.
    1. Install copy express on customer server
    2. Restore a copy of your database in the Customer Server as well.
    3. Copy from the restored database to the Live database of Customer using Copy Express.
Copy Express is a very simple add-on and easy to use.
    Hope this helps.

  • Create ShortCut  For Query Layout Design

    Hi All !!!
I Designed a Report By Query Layout Design , so I want to Create ShortCut for it  , Because . If  I want to use This Report , I will do a lot Step .
    Please Help me.
    Thank alot .

There is no specific SDK function for this, you could however write code to automate the manual steps:-
    - Launch Query Manager (ActivateMenuItem 4865)
    - Iterate through query groups in Item "6", and expand the group containing your query
    - Iterate through queries within the group, and use click method to highlight the required query
    - Call Print or Print Preview (ActivateMenuItem 520 / 519)

  • How to fix BW Query column width globally before query execution?

    Dear Experts,
Regarding the BW Query run in Business Explorer, the width of the first column A of the result displayed in Excel is usually based on the width of the query title.
I know that we can adjust the column width in Excel: right click on the column and change the properties as "Do not adjust column width" on refresh. But how can I change and fix this width globally (regardless of the actual length of the cells) inside the analyzer during query design, and before the result coming out in Excel? I want the change is on the "Change query (global definition)", and not inside the Excel.
    Thanks & regards,
    James

    Hi,
The column width is determined by the Analyser at the runtime  and is taken by the settings done at Infoobject level in "Business Explorer tab". Like short text will have X width column.
If you need to have fixed column with different from what is proposed by the system u need to save ur query as Woorkbook.
or if u are displaying them in WEB ANALYSER then u can have report designer to control the formatting.

  • ABAP Query layout issue

    Hi,
I need to add a new column in a ABAP-Query, while adding this column and executing the same. The layout has changed from custom to standard one.
Is there any way to retain the custom layout in the "Basic List" while changing the Infoset Query.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Gopi

    hi,
I guess the transaction code directly calls the generated ABAP program, which is the bad approach, because the generated ABAP program might have different names in different systems (like here). You have to create a transaction, which calls transaction START_REPORT with the following parameters/attributes filled :
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE= AQ "parameter indicating Abap Query
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORT= '...' "Query User group
    D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT= '...' "Query name
Of course you have to replace the dots with real usergoup and query names. You create this transaction code in the development system and transport it to test and production. It will work everywhere (in case the query is transported as well).
    hope this helps

  • Query Layout

    Hello All,
How can we display the List layout of an ABAP Query.
Currently this functionality exists in the standard SQ00.
TA Code SQ00 --> Select the Group
It displays all the Queries under that Group.
select any of the Query and click the 'Layout display' button on the Application tool bar.
Is there an SAP FM which can deliver the same. I need to recreate the same in a ZObject. I am currently on the 4.5 Ver.
    Thank you.

  • Regarding ABAP query layout changes

In 46C system, we have addon transaction ZXX created thru ABAP query displaying in ALV report
layout fields in order A,B,C,D. But after upgrade to ECC5.0 we found the layout is changed to fields D,B,C,A.
why its changed? Is it Patch problem or its SAP problem.
However after upgrade we could manualy drag and drop the fields as per the 46C existing report layout
    it works fine.
But we would like to know the reason why its happenning.?
    Could somebody give me suggestion.
    Regards
    Ambichan

    Hi Ambikumar,
The ALV output layout is dependent on user settings.
THe order of layout fields is changed bcz user has saved the new layout.
In the output, check the ALV toolbar for CHANGE LAYOUT button. Click on it & check if anyone has saved any new layout. Delete the layout & you would alwyz get the fields in the same order as specified in the query.
No need to modify the query using SQ01/SQ02.
Simply execute the query & click button CHANGE LAYOUT.
    Best regards,
    Prashant

  • Changing Report 6.05 Layout Width

I need a wider report layout ( say 126 Characters in width)
not to be resized after Report Wizard execution.
I changed the layout manually, though, it doesn't feel good.
If I run Report Wizard to modify the report , it restores the
    default page layout .
    I increased Reports/Max.HorizontalBodyPages parameter and
re-run the wizard, but it hasn't affected the layout.
Is an ER out there ?
    null

You should be able to set the report width in the Report_Open event. Do you use the correct scale? Report width is measured in Twips. There are 1440 Twips per inch, so to get a 6-inch wide report, you set
    Me.Width = 6 * 1440
Also, if there are lines that are wider than 6 inches you first have to set the line width before you set the report width.

  • ABAP Query --List Width

    Hi,
I have a requirement for ABAP Query using transaction sq03.
I have to add a new column and since the field length is char132, when i place the field in "Basic List" tab in Sq03, the field goes to the
next line. Now, when I execute the output, only the fields in the first line (in Basic List) get displayed. The fields in the second line do not get displayed. Also, I cannot fit the second line fields in the first line as the maximum list width is 254. I need a solution to display the 2nd line fields in output.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tejas Savla

    Hi Teja ,
what u can do is , change its display length of that field .
SQ01---> In the change Mode --->basic List ---> Click on the Field --->Down Left u will get options to change display length.
    regards
