Query - nested date

Here is a test table and a query;

      SELECT TO_DATE('2/12/2010','MM/DD/YYYY') AS GLDATE, 50 AS GLDATE$,NULL AS INVDATE,NULL AS INVOICE$ FROM DUAL

)I can not get the result based on invdate. for example, if i put :p_gldate_to='7/1/2010' and :P_invdate_to='6/30/2010' (p_invdate_to is inside the range of p_gldate_to)
then output result is as follows;
GLDATE     GLDATE$     INVDATE     INVOICE$
2/1/2009     100            9/30/2009     100if p_invdate_to is outside of the range of p_gldate_to or p_invdate_to is null then
output result is as follows;
GLDATE     GLDATE$     INVDATE     INVOICE$
2/1/2009     100            9/30/2009     100
1/1/2010     100            8/1/2010     100
