Query on ChaRM control on BAU v/s Project landscapes

We have Business-as-Usual landscape(DEV, QAS, PRD) which is controlled by ChaRM (maintenance project). To this environment, we plan to add a project landscape with Dev(P) and QA(P) systems for project activities.
Can we use BAU Solution Manager - where ChaRM is configured - to control developments in project landscape and later cutover respective project transports to BAU landscape?

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I have seen the blog on retrofit functionality. The retrofit procedure assists in moving BAU changes to project landscape.
My query is on sort of "reverse retrofit" I mean, can I create an Implementation Project in BAU Solution Manager as follows?
Dev(Prj) --> QA(Prj) --> Test(Project) --> DEV --> QAS --> PRD
Please note, DEV --> QAS --> PRD is already controlled by a Maintenance Project for BAU support. Can the implementation project and maintenance project co-exist on same Solution Manager for same SIDs?

ChaRM and test management in implementation projects

Hi
I am doing implementation projects in solution manager. i have activated charm in the project so as to transport all the changes related to the project with the project lifecycle.
I have got confusions regarding CHarm and Test MAnagement.. when we activated CHaRM the tester can logon to the system and perform testing and pass the Change Document to the next phase.
What is the standard flow when both CHaRM and TEst Management for a project exists??

Using "in" clause in the query in Database control

Hi,
I have a database control and need to fire an update query to update a set of rows based on a list of values as input
Like below
update tablename
set column1="value1"
where column2 in (.......)
I need to pass a list of values for this query where column2 is a NUMBER field in Oracle DB.
can anyone help me how to go about passing this list of values?

How to disable Query for single controls in a Form Applet?

Hi All,
this should be so simple, but seems like I don't get it at the moment.
I have a Form Applet in HI Mode and want to disable the possibility to Query on certain fields. these are Calculated fields and querying will most likely crash the application due to heavy performance impact. They should be for displaying only. How to do that? I have searched for Applet Control User Properties and such stuff but couldn't find one.

in the meantime I managed to do it using a BusComp Field User Property called "DisableSearch". If you set this to "TRUE" for the desired fields, the user will receive an error message when trying to query for these fields.

Af:query how to control the query combobox and change it's label text

My colleague designed a well working af:query search page with several selectable predefined queries. Now it's up to me to control this combobox from outside the component with big colored buttons for user convenience. If the user clicks on one of the big buttons, the assigned item of the combobox is selected and then the query is submitted.
I though about doing this with javascript, but the difficulty is, that I have no idea and didn't find a way to reference the id of the combobox? The combobox is a 'built in' component in he af:query component and there is no way to give it an id in the properties.
The second problem is that I didn't find a way to change the label text of the combobox. It seems to be hard coded?

Sum of the sql query after a control break

Query regarding GRID CONTROL

Hi,
I am using Oracle version 10.2.0.1.
I want to install GRID CONTROL on top of this installation. For this I will be installing OMA(Oracle Management Agent) first.
My query is, can I straighaway install OMA version 10.2.03 over Oracle database version 10.2.0.1? Or do i need to patch firstly the base oracle database version from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 then only I can install OMA version 10.2.0.3 over it.

Yes .. you can install OMA and I would suggest you to install 11G agents as they are available now and have more feature. Agent version doesn't depend on database version. An agent can monitor all supported versions of Oracle database(depends on agent version) .

What is your OMS version by the way ?
OMA agent doesn't work standalone and you need to have OEM Grid control installed before installing agent on a target server.

Bind adhoc-query to Grid-Control

Help! I'm stuck ;-)
Tried to bind my query to a gridControl:
DbAccess dba = sessionInfo1.get DbAcess();
ScrollableRowsetAccess sra = null;
sra = (ScrollableRowsetAccess)dba.executeRetrieval(

gridControl1.setDataItemName(

But the grid always comes up empty.... If I use an
ImmediateAccess and System.out.println in a while(sra.next())
the data is properly displayed from the Rowset.... so its good
to that point.
So how do I bind the adhoc-qyuery to the GrodControl??????

I have been trying all month....Please see my 05Aug postings...
With binding an Adhoc query to GridControl approach,
I have tried various things to get the data to display:
Like trying to use some AttributeInfo to supply ColumnMetaData
etc... which is why I believe that my bind does not supply
any visible data in the GridControl....
In general, the best I have achieved in calling stored procedures
and showing the results in a GridControl is to use the wizard to
create a GridControl, then modify the setQueryInfo to use
the Column_Names as an alias for my functions()....

MDO select query: how to control sort order using parameter

Hi experts, is there a way of controling the sort order of an MDO select query using some parameter?
I was thinking about using some statement like CASE [Param.1] WHEN 'abc' THEN [ORDER_NO]...END in sort section of the query but it is not working.
Of course I colud go for various select queries...but I am wondering if it can be done using only one?
Any ideas?

Yes this can be achieved dynamically using SortExpr under dynamic link assignment in MDOAction block if you are using a transaction to call it.

Or else, this [Param.1] thing should work as well provided it doesn't get the logic part in it, just pass the columns names separated by comma. Haven't tried it though, will check it for you.

Query about TABSTRIP Control within Sub screen

Hi Expert,
I have requirement like follows:
In IW32->Enhancement Tab screen is as subscreen and No: 0900.
Now I want to have 2 different sub screen say 0910 and 0920 each of this for different purpose according to
Order Type as per clients requirement.
Actaully I have developed screen 0900 already for some order type and now clients requirement changed i.e.
there are 2 different groups of Order types (say Grp1 and Grp2)
So, I proposed a solution for this as follows:
In Enhancement Tab of IW32 according to group of Order Type (either Grp1 or Grp2) only you will be able to
see fields for that perticular Grp either of 2.
Technical Solution is like...
1) I thought that I will create 2 subscreens say 0910 and 0920.
2) In 0910 i will insert all those fields which are designed already in 0900 which is for Grp1
3) and for Grp2 i will design 0920
4) according to Order Type only 0910 or 0920 client will be able to see.
Now I got stuck in between the screen development for 0920 because there are so many fields and i said to
client that they will be able to see those fields in different Tab strips.
I never worked on Tab Strip concept, I search so many forums and sites for Lesson on Tab Strip but not
understood how to proceed as per my specific requiment.
Please can anyone suggest me how to proceed further.

There's no reason why you couldn't do it.
A tabstrip control is simply made of a subscreen area and a "tabstrip" above, where each tab corresponds to a button/function code. You have 2 ways to define/program it, "local" or "server", the difference being a better performance with the "local" (interesting in slow WAN).
In ABAPDOCU demos, you have 2 programs DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_LOCAL and DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_SERVER.

Query on Mitigation Control

Hi all,
We have configured Mitigation Controls and mitigated some of the users. We have the following queries in this regard:
a) When we run the SoD anlaysis for that particular user we could able to see only half description of the Mitigation Control.
Is there any limitation for the space or the parameters for the Mitigation Control Description.We are unable to see the entire description of the Mitigation Control (If the mitigation control is more than 7-8 lines) in the Detailed Report screen as well. Even after downloading into a spreadsheet also we are getting only the part of the mitigation control and not the entire description of the mitigation control
b) A risk ID can be addressed by 2 or 3 mitigation controls. In this scenario,we have assigned 2-3 mitigation controls to one Mitigated user for mitigation. When we run SoD analysis we could able to see only the latest mitigation control assigned to the user in the report format (say out of 3 assigned only the 3rd one assigned is being shown).
But when we did a search for Mitigation controls with the Risk ID & User ID combination then it is throwing all the 3 mitigation controls. But the same is not shown in SoD violations reports
Is there anything to do with the parameters set up or at the configuration side to resolve this.
Please provide the procedure also in case of any changes to be made at configuration level.

Thanks for your reply. We crosschecked and you are correct that the space limitation is only for 132 characters in this table.
Is there a way to get the mitigation control whole description or do we need to stick to this limitation itself.
Also, when we did a search for Mitigation Control it gives only Mit.ID, Mit Control Desc, BU and Management approver. Whether there are any tables (from SAP Backend) or reports where we can get the Risk Ids including the above addressed by the mitigation controls.

Running Connected Query with Run Control Parameters using App Engine

I created a connected query that has 1 parent query and 1 child query, and use this as DataSource for the report that I am going to generate. I created an app engine that willl be called to generate this report. However, I encounter the error "Error occurred while processing the request. (228,101) PT_CONQRS.CONQRSMGR.OnExecute Name:GetXMLData PCPC:59072 Statement:1309". What could be causing this issue? One cause I am thinking is that the Connected Query not returning any data since I am not able to pass / map the values to the CQ's prompt fields. How is this done in CQ? I've done it in PS Query by using the function SetPSQueryPromptRecord+. I'm trying to search for this function's equivalent in CQ. I was able to search for a workaround (http://mfinchps.blogspot.com/2011/05/how-to-launch-connected-query-xml.html), but I still prefer to have a CQ data source.

i think you have run the code to generate the XML file from your connected query...
check the following things
1. Check the Report definition is defined or not for the file that you want generate.
2. if its defined check the RTF template is present or not.
3.Check your code in Appengine whether you have mentioned the Report Definition and template name,

CHARM - controlling task creation for CD in to be tested

Hi people,
I would like to share the following CHARM issue.
Developers involved in my project are a lot.
We use CDs (NC) for developing in an implementation project,
According to ChaRM standard, when develops end CDs are set by developers in "to be tested" status for testing porpouse in QUA (and TofC are imported in QUA).
Sometimes in the meantime it happens that an other developer logs in dirctly in DEV and open another task under the TRs that belong to the NC.
So my question is: is there a way to avoid developer modify the TR adding a new task ?
At list is there a best practice you can suggest to me?
Force developer to log in dirctly in SM is a affordable solution?

TofC are imported in QA and tested. But there's another error to correct.
So when I now change the corresp. program a new task is created automatically to the TR, althoug I've mo authorization to create a task!

Query for Tab Control

I am working on an application which need a Tab Control in it. I have 2 Tabs in that control. One is Engineering mode and other is Application mode. Only when certain condition's are met in Engireeing mode then only user can change to other mode by pressing the tab's .....
