Query on Content Submission - Articles

Hi,
I am facing this weird thing related to the Content Submission System.
I had submitted two articles on January 8, this year. The status of these articles was initially "Submitted" and got changed to "To be Approved" in a month. Since that time till date, the status of the documents has not changed. I have sent mails to [email protected] 4-5 times asking when will the documents get published, and whether there is some issue related to them. But except for my first mail, I did not get reply to any mail. The reply I got in February was that my query has been forwarded to the concerned team and will be looked into soon.
I had submitted two documents last year, and both of them got published in a period of one and a half month each. I am wondering what's wrong this time.
Can someone from the SDN team please reply?

Hello Ankur,
The correct address to send inquiries about content submissions is [email protected] The people who respond to this address are the ones that process the documents submitted using the contribution system.
The people at the email address [email protected] have no access to this system and can only forward your messages to the other address.

Link to content submission is not working

I am unable to access the article submission link. Following is the path that I am trying
Clicked on "How to Contribute" link at the top of SDN home page. Scrolled down to the section "ARTICLES, TUTORIALS, WHITE PAPERS AND RICH MEDIA" and then clicked on the link "Content Submission System". But every time I clicked on this link I got the following error message.
The webpage at https://sdnweb.sdn.sap.com/sdncss/SubmitterInfo.htm might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Can someone provide me with the link to submit articles? Thank you!

i am trying this since 3 days , but the page does not seem to work, What is the OS? Have you tried to download from the different machine and/or using a different browser?

Reg Content submission in SDN.

Hi,
I am facing this weird thing related to the Content Submission System.

I have a similar issue what Dhanya has. I submitted an article on 3rd October. It is still in "Submitted" state in spite of sending mails to the Content Team.
This post of mine is not a rant against the Content Submission System. But I would really like to understand one small thing. How do some articles get published within a week of their submission date? I am assuming the date what the author puts in his article as creation date is equal to the submission date.
Take these two articles for example:

Yes, you can.
Call one of the Schema services (such as GET_SCHEMA_VIEW_VALUES) and you will get back a ResultSet which you can iterate over.

0 result returned for query "collection ('exampledata.dbxml')/article

I using BDB XML I create a container called Exampledata.dbxml using java API. using a separate program I put my sigmodRecord.xml file into the container. I then wrote another program (see the program below) to test my Query

SCN Content Submission: Is there any further information on the submission status?

Hi colleagues,
I understand and have read a couple of times that I can contribute content via the content submission (SAML Response from SAP ID Service).
and I see the status "Submitted" for my document.
The question is, is there a way to get more information about the current status of the submitted document? Or is the only information I get the mail "don't call us, we'll call you" , i.e. the automatically generated mail telling me that I'll be informed once the content is published and and that I'll receive a link to the published document?

You can contact the content team directly at [email protected] to determine the status of your submission.
fyi - After it has been published, you will receive an automatic eMail with the URL.

Architecture for showing content like articles in webapp

Hi,
I have a web application developed in Java and, I want to put feature to show and add articles. What is the best way forward to store and dislpay this type of content ?
Is it a good idea to use some open source content repository api like apache jackrabbit or alfresco ? or is it better to write my own content repository ? I want to add features like add/edit article content, rate article, keep track of view count, etc.

How can I get property value dynamically without hardcoding like above,instead i want it as follows:
String formQuery="PPF_Type='" + typeName + "' && SupportGroup='" + groupName + "'";
How can i get 'typeName' and 'groupName' as variable through jpf,if i have to display titles in same page.

Dynamic datasource query in Content Presenter

I have a Documents region with a custom Content Presenter template.
I would like to use a dynamic datasource query with this, which makes use of the currently logged in user and the user's role.
The task flow parameters look like this now:

You can use expression language in that query to make it dynamic.
You could either build the full query from a managed bean or just some parameters.
here's how you can do it when building the query from a MB:
This should be the method in your bean:

}Your datasource parameter should be something like this:
<parameter id="datasource" value="#{yourBean.query}"/>note: the "and ora:p:dCreatedBy..." might not be correct but it shows how you can dynamicly build the query.

Adobe Content Viewer + Article creation

Hello,
I've created a folio in Indesign CS5.5 but I can't create an article when I click the "New" button. The following error message displays "An error has occurred while updating article layouts. The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found. Please relink the article to desired source files".
All I've created so far is a scrolling text box which I can't preview because the Adobe Content Viewer fails to launch (dual orientation document).
I've done a clean install of Indesign CS5.5 and installed the latest Folio Producer and Builder Tools (CS5.5) posted on the Adobe DPS website.
Has anyone come across this problem recently and if so what was your solution.

This message has occurred for myself and asks to relink the source files, this worked before a new update of folio tools V 8.0.8.22 (CS6).
1. How can you relink these files when the server cannot find the folio on you local drive but it's available in the cloud.
2. Also Is there a easier way to duplicate all folio content ie :
All Vertically only
All Horizontal only
Also horizontal and vertical documents in the cloud need a way to re-link back towards the local drive or a cloud folio duplicate without any need to re-upload all your previous content.
Any users having the same problems with small or larger folios after this new update.

Control the query of Content By Search web part or a Catalog-Item Reuse web part from JavaScript

Is it possible/supported to intercept and change the query before it gets issued by a Content By Search or Catalog-Item Reuse webpart?
I am writing a multilingual site utilizing cross-site publishing mechanism, and the out-of-box (OOB) web parts would perfectly work if not for the following requirement that I've got: I need to serve location-specific content to the end user. I have several
versions of each content page for each geographical location, and I have tagged the pages accordingly with managed metadata keywords. I also can deduce the user's location from her browser's IP address and store it in a JavaScript variable. It is here
where I am getting stuck: I am trying to change on the fly the queries the web parts issue in order to attach the information about the user's geographical location, unsuccessfully so far.
I cannot rely on server-side code unless it is a cloud-hosted app code. I am about to give up and consider a custom solution alternative instead, which would be relying on Search REST API and custom client-side scripted widgets in place
of the OOB search web parts. This seems like an expensive alternative as the entire site could have been built using the OOB web parts, if not for the location requirement.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

I would check several directions:
- in query transformation you may add keyword filter "Value of a field on the page". Documentation doesn't clearly says what "field" means here: is it only for site columns, or also may work for UI controls on the page. In second case it would solve your
problem (it would be possible to add hidden field on the page and set value via javascript). But chances that it works like this are not high;
- in the query settings of the Content by search web part there is setting "Loading behavior": Choose whether this query is issued on the server while the page is loading, which is better for your main content, or from the browser after the page appears.
I.e. if you will choose 2nd option there will be a chance to intercept the query on the client side in theory. All of this requires experimenting of course;
- by default Content by search web part sends query to /_vti_bin/client.svc/ProcessQuery with http post from client side (you may check it in fiddler). You may try to find the exact javascript function which performs the call and override it by adding additional
conditions to the query (fortunately it is not complicated in javascript).

CAML Query against content type

I am trying to query a Document library by content type using CAML:

When I run this, no items are returned. However, when I go into the default view of the document library and filter against the content type, I can see documents are associated to that content type. Was wondering why I can see the documents
in the filtered default view, but the CAML query does not return any items.
Any advice or direction to some online resource would be greatly appreciated.

I tested on a document library with document content type, the following two works:

0x0101007764851CB5A6344EB5C9E35447D01F39 is the content type id of the list content type and 0x0101 is the content type id of the site content type.
but what follows does not work:

By the way, i sugguest using the value type ContentTypeId instead of Text as the CAML generated by LINQ described in:

Query the content of blobs

Dear all,
I have a table containing blobs with only text in there. Now I would like to query the table for records where the blob contains a certain string. However I keep getting a ORA-00932 error message stating inconsistent datatype; expecting NUMBER got BLOB
This is the query I use where user_data is the BLOB.

where user_data like '%test_account_used%'
order by ENQ_TIME desc
Can anybody please explain what is wrong and what is the correct approach on querying a blob.
