Query on inventory management

Hi freinds,
I wanted to guide me regarding this question  "what is the difference between unrestricted use and scheduled material"
As far i know unrestricted materail is the one which is available for ready usage
Scheduled material is the "reserved material " which is reserverd to ensure the availability of material when required
Is that right ??
If we are asked to find a "goods movement record" for a particular material "
Is that asking about "Material Document " ?
please help me

hi,
yes what you said is correct because when any one ask you the material record then we use t.code MB51 which even shows the document number.

  • Combined Report for Purchasing and Inventory Management.

    Hi All,
Is there any standard SAP Report available where I can get all the information related to Purchasing and Inventory Management in one.
Like Material,Purchasing details of the material (vendor, price etc ) and Inventory Management (Stock qty and value etc.).

  • Analysis Process Designer and Inventory Management

In the How to guide for Inventory Management it mentions that you can you can intialise stock in the Snap shot Cube using the Analysis Process Designer (APD).  Has anyone done this and if so can you explain how or outline some steps? Thanks

    Hallo,
the APD does`nt be a useful tool for modeling a performant
data flow. A lot of SAP BW user think so.
The performance problems are given by the ddic intern table, using to uploading the extracted data into the apd used wa_table and structures.
To have the best performance on your scenario, please use the following scenario as possible.
    Step 1.
upload the extracted data from the psa into a data layer
there you can reduce and harmonize the data by using a transactional ods
    Step 2.
build a infoset that joins the data
    Step 3.
build one query to reducing data and make two copies of ist
    Step 4.
build a useful data mining model
    Step 5.
upload the results of the data mining model into a transactional ods
    Step 6.
link the uploaded data into a infoset ore write back into a standard ods
    Step 7.
    query the data
If you use this scenario you have a lot of benefits. Better performance, better quality of persistent data and actual and traininged data.
The recommend next step (if you want a alerting) is to build a reporting agent report - if you have usefull processes in  the query.
There are a workshop for Data mining and APD, named BW380.
    I hope I helped you.
    Otherwise give me a message.

  • Inventory Management: Valuated Stock Value

    Hello Experts -
We're using inventory management. We're just bringing in 2lis_03_bf which is the material movements and the standard price datasource.
The plant valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value are fine. The SLOC valuated stock quantity is fine. We're using the non-cumulative key figures for the valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value. The SLOC valuated stock value isn't correct. So I just created a calculated key figure where I'm multiplying the quantity with the standard price.
This works fine but when I look at the plant level and use this CKF, the aggregation threw me off. So I changed the aggregation on CKF at the Bex level.
This works fine in dev and qa where I don't have too much of data. But as soon as I'm in in production, the query times out and gives me an error saying I reached the buffer limit.
I was thinking of calculating the valuated stock value at the ETL layer but now I'm thinking that if I do that and the price of a material changes, I'll again have the same problem. I can't re-load every time a material price changes.
Can someone please help me with this scenario?
    Thanks!

do not offer points, it is against the rules

    Hi Syed,
Deriving values by multipling with price also not correct. results will not match with R/3.
    Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic
Check SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
    Hope it Helps

  • Inventory Management Cube 0ic_c03, 0StockType

In the Inventory Management Cube 0ic_c03 queries,I've found that  0StockType has descriptions that are misleading because of the way they are written in domain bstaus (R3 side), especially when seeing the key and SHORT description (truncated beyond meaning).
OK I can correct these by changing BStaus 's texts.
The main changes I'd do are for the Customer Consigment, Customer Return Packaging and Material Provided to Vendor descriptions.
But what does 0StockType 'blank' (or #) mean ?
(It seems to mean something like Valuated Stock Valuation and 'Not Defined' is not very good in a Query result)

Well, no one replied, but I got feedback from OSS.  So just in case anyone is interested.....
I had to use r3 > se11 to change the domain descriptions myself.
Bstaus 'blank' I put as 'Valuation'
I also improved some of the Bsttyp descriptions whilst there

  • Queires on Non-Cumulative Inventory Management Cube 0IC_C03 Not Working

    Hello all.
I am trying to use the 0IC_C03 Inventory Management cube with non-cumulative key figures.  I followed the How to...Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW paper to a tee.
    Steps I followed:
    1.  Ran initialization of beginning balance with 2LIS_03_BX
    2.  Ran the historical job with 2LIS_03_BF
    3.  Uploaded to BW the Initialization (BX) and compressed without setting the "No Marker Update" flag
    4.  Uploaded the historical movements (BF) and compressed setting the "No Marker Update" flag
Now, to this point, everything was fine.  Quantities were as expected.  Dollar values were as expected.  The problem occurs once I load deltas:
    5.  Loaded delta for 2LIS_03_BF and compressed without setting the "No Marker Update" flag as instructed in the How To... paper
    Query example:
    MATERIALA:
Initial Stock Balance = 1000 EA
Delta had stock issue of 150 EA (so the stock balance should have decreased from 1000 to 850)
Now, I have the record in BW showing the stock issue of 150.  However, the non-cumulative key figure within the query still shows 1000.  And when I drill down by calendar day, I would expect the result to show 850, but it seems to add the 150 before taking it away resulting in 1000 which is actually the initial stock balance.  It is like it is not recognizing the updates.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brent

    Hi!
Here is what helped in my case, very similar to your:
In DTP for 2lis_03_bx (not only in infopackage, as it is said in manual!) you have to change "Extraction Mode" parameter to "Initial Non-cumulative for Non-cumulative values"

  • Inventory management: Validy dates in queries???

    Hi experts,
    We have BW 7.0.
I have loaded data on 04.03.2010 with BF- and UM-datasources and compressed it correctly.
When I now look into the validy table for plant 0001 there is a validy range from 03.07.1997 to 08.02.2010.
But when I start a query for 09.02.2010 system says "no data found".
The document "How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW" says that I should show the result in parenthesis!
    What is up here?
But I don't want to update this validy table!!!
    Pls help!
    KR,
    Raimund
    Text in  document:
...For example, if data with document data was loaded into the
InfoCube with values from 01.01.2002 to 15.02.2002 (assigned to the respective time
characteristic), the validity interval is also determined by these two date values. You can
extend the intervals by maintaining the table (transaction RSDV). Stock balances are
displayed for requests that relate to this period. If you start a query that requests the
stock balance for 16.02.2002 or later, the result is displayed in parenthesis (a blank
value is displayed in BW 2.0B and 2.1C), since it lies outside the validity area (providing
that the validity table was not manually extended using transaction RSDV)....

    Hi,
    Hi,
Use 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM to 0IC_C03 Cube and design the report.
    Use :
    0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
    0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
    For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
    For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
    And
    Drag & drop
    0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
    See the steps.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

  • Inventory Management Data Model

Can I have a combined Inventory Management Snapshot and Non Cumulative?  By this I mean as follows:
    1.     Use the Business Content model to load to the Inventory Management (0IC_C03) cube on a daily basis (loading delta from 03_BF and 03_UM)
    2.     Create a Snap Shot model which is loaded on a monthly basis using 03_BF and 03_UM
    Thanks

    Hello Niten,
Absolutely. You can use these two scenarios in combination. In fact, it is highly recommended to use snapshot scenario in combination with non-cumulative model and not as a stand alone solution.
But you need to evaluate the business requirement before taking the decesion of going with combined solution. Snapshot scenario is used to improve the query prformance.

  • Using Inventory Management in BI

We are trying to make use of inventory data in BI.  Weu2019ve installed business content for the cube 0IC_C03 and followed the steps in u2018How tou2026 Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BWu2019 to get the data to the cube.   The best I can understand I've loaded and compressed in the right order.
When we run a report it only seems to be reporting on the opening balance as defined in the 2LIS_03_BX load. It does not appear to be looking at the material movements as loaded in 2LIS_03_BF to calculate balances in the past. We installed from business content the Stock Overview report. Here is a sample of what Iu2019m seeing when drilled into a specific material that I know had inventory movements in 07 & 08 of 2008:
    06/2008  1,002 EA
    07/2008  1,002 EA
    08/2008  1,002 EA
    09/2008  1,002 EA
    10/2008  1,002 EA
Anybody have any suggestions on what I need to look at?  My understanding was that the query would used the material movements to calculate the balances for those months.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi,
If you followed the steps correctly you must get the correct values in BW report and it will match with MB5B in ECC.
    Do like this...
If you have any opening stock problem, please run the report
SAP_REFPOINT_COMPLETE and select Insert of Missing Records
and then check the data in the cube.
While checking data in MB5B, you need to give proper selections i.e. date and check valuated stock radio button.
Note: check what are date ranges that are you are giving in BW report and in ECC
    Thanks

  • Inventory Management 0IC_C03 customizations

    Dear Experts,
I have a task in hand to implement Inventory Management in SAP BW 3.5. Now, this is the first time that we will be implementing anything related to Logistics and I havenu2019t done so earlier in my support projects. I have got 10 hrs of downtime.
I need to fetch the report for both Trading as of now.
The fields needed in the report by the customer are:
    Plant
    Plant Description
    S. Loc.
    S.Loc. Description
      Opening Stock Qty,
      Opening Stock Value,
    Receipts against PO Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against STO  Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against return SO  Qty,
         Value,
    All Other Receipts  Qty,
          Value,
    RevaluationValue,
    Miro Differences,
    Issue against SO  Qty,
          Value,
    Issue against STO Qty,
            Value,
    All Other Issues Qty,
          Value,
      Closing Stock Qty,
               Value,
    Book Inv Qty,
    Physical Inv Count.
I am planning to define these as Zkey-figures and write routines in update rules based on processing keys to capture each qty and value separately.
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
    4) Should I extend the 0IC_C03 with these new custome KFs creating a new zcube or should I add only required fields in zcube.
If I follow the latter, will there be any impact on standard BF/UM runs as in If I load till PSA and from PSA I follow my customized update rules terminating into my customized cube?
    Thanks friends.

    BJ,
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
~ You will get fields from the Cube only.
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
~ Check this Table in Source system for BW Keys : TMCLVBW
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    Check this table
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
That depends upon your requirement in the report or Check the standard Dcoument for Inv management in SDN search.
you will get lot of help.
~Best Practice and even SAP Recommends Make a ZCUBE and then enhance or customize to fullfill your rek.
No impact follow IM steps for BW.
Make sure you keep these things in Mind:
There are 3 SAP delivered transactional data sources for stock management.
2LIS_03_BX : Always needed to carry the initialization of the stocks.
2LIS_03_BF :  Initialize this in source if you need historical data else an empty init can be done for this to load only future delta records. If the Source system is new then no need to do an initialization.
2LIS_03_UM : Only needed if revaluations are carried out in Source. This data source is helpful if adjustment in material prices is done time to time otherwise it wonu2019t extract any data.
    2.  Check list for source system. Needs to be carried out before initialization of the above 3 data sources .
    A.   Table TBE11 : Maintain Entry u2018NDIu2019 with text u2018New Dimension Integrationu2019 and activate the flag(Note 315880)
    B.   Table TPS01 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    INTERFACE  - SAMPLE_PROCESS_01010001
    TEXT1 u2013 NDI Exits Active
    C.   Table TPS31 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    APPLK  - NDI
    FUNCT u2013 NDI_SET_EXISTS_ACTIVE
    D.   Tcode u2013   MCB_
In most cases you need to set the industry sector as u2018standardu2019. For more info please see Note 353042
    E.    Tcode u2013  BF11
Set the indicator to active for the Business warehouse application entry. This entry may needs to be transported to the production system. (Note 315880)
    3.  After running the setup data, check the data for the fields BWVORG, BWAPPLNM, MENGE. If no data available in these fields then some setting mentioned in the above checklist are missing in R/3. Correct the issue and rerun the setup data.
    4.  Data staging with DSO for BX extractor is not allowed. Data should directly load from extractor to Cube only once. Choose the extraction mode as u2018Initial Non-cumulative for Non-cumulative valuesu2019 in the DTP.
    5.  DSO is possible for BF. If you are creating a standard DSO then choose the fields MJAHR,BWCOUNTER,MBLNR,ZEILE as key fields. Some of these fields wonu2019t be available in the standard data source but the data source can be enhanced using LO Cockpit (LBWE) to add these fields. In addition to these other fields depending upon the DSO structure is also possible.
Note  417703 gives more info on this.
    6.  Point-5 is valid for UM also. The Key fields could be a combination of MJAHR,MBLNR,ZEILE,BUKRS  fields. Note 581778
    7.  Data load to the cube should follow the below process
    A.      Load the BX data. Compress the request with stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    B.      Load the BF and UM init data. Compress the loads without the stock maker(Check the marker option).
    C.      The future delta loads from BF and UM should be compressed with Stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    8.  If in future the cube needs to be deleted due to some issues then the load process should also be carried out as above. (only init of BF and UM should be loaded first and then the deltas should be processed)
    9.  To check the data consistency of a Non cumulative cube the standard program SAP_REFPOINT_COMPLETE can be used. To check the compression status of the cube the table RSDCUBE can be refered. Before the compression of BX request, the u2018REFUPDATEu2019 field should be blank and after the compression the value should become u2018Xu2019. Check Note 643687 for more info.
    10. After BX data load to cube the data wonu2019t be visible by LISTCUBE. Only after compression the data can be seen by running a query on the Non cumulative cube.

  • Manage stock qty. in Storage bin for Inventory management

    HI all,
We are implemented Inventory Management (display stock of material for storage location).
I want to know is there any method in Inventory Managment to Manage stock of specific material in bin also.
Means User exactly should know the stock of specific material is located in Storage Bin.
Please suggest me the hole process or any customization
    Regards,
    Vraj

    Hi V raj,
I don't know whether i understood your question well. But i will answer in the way i understood.
To serve your requirement you need to have a Warehouse management, means to have a smooth warehouse bin wise storage.
But some companies are not willing to implement WM and they are finding a way with batch classification. They maintain batches for material and storage bin are maintain in a batch classification. So you can view it in MMBE also by going into the batch classification of the relevant batch.
And if you want to have a detail report you can develop a simple report or a query to retrieve batch classification data.
    For batch classification activation:
    1. Material must maintain "Batch management" tick in Purchasing and storage plant data views
    2. Create a seperate class for this using CL02
3  Create batch characteristic using CT04 (this is to maintain Storage Bin)
    4. Add classification view to each material and the relevant batch class.
    5. When you are doing the GR use "Batch" tab and "Classification" button to maintain relevant Storage bin data. (To update mass scale you can create a "Z" report getting help of a developer in your company)
    6. Now each batch you are maintained your storage bin view it trough MMBE (But only one batch classification) or in-house developed report ("Z") program
    Thanks & BR

  • SAP Inventory Manager 4.0 installation problems

I am having problems when trying to install the new version of Inv Manager 4.0 on windows server 2008.  The installation is performed by first installing and patching to latest release an SMP 3.0 server, followed by an installation of the SAP Inventory Manager 4.0.0 Deployment exe file.  That installation runs without any errors but no app is visible on the SMP, no folders or shortcuts or other indications are visible that it was successful.  Also very strange is that according to the installation guide there are some steps (1-6) which I cannot see, my install runs jumps directly from step 3 step nr. 7 (serial numbers, install type, keys are all missing or not requested by the installation for some reason).  I have installed this on 4 different servers/PC´s where at least 2 of those were totally fresh systems that didn´t have any previous installation of either Agentry or SMP.  The prerequisites are met (java, jco etc) but what puzzles me the most is that I don´t see any logs or error messages.
    Help is much appreciated

    Bjorn,
    At very high level...
    1) Install  SMP Server   with Latest support pack. you don't need to enter any server serial numbers details.
    2) Logon to SMP Management cockpit.
    3) create Agentry  application for Inventory Manager and save it.
    4) Once Agentry application is created under server->configuration folder you can see a folder created.
    Server\configuration\com.sap.mobile.platform.server.agentry.application.
    5)  Execute SAPInventoryMgr400Deployment.exe by entering SAP back end connection details.
    6)   Once you complete step 5), you have IM 4.0 deployment application is created.  at this point you  can copy all the  deployment folder contents to application folder created in step 4) or do publish from editor or follow step 5.
    5) Select Agentry application ->go to App Specific settings tab ->Under publish option "upload your Inventory Manager  deployment zip file" and save the changes.
    6) Re-start  the Server.
    7) Test if your application is deployed correctly  by entering URL in the browser https ://<hostname>:8081/<appname> .  you should get response as 'I'm here".
    8)  if step 7) is not successful then troubleshoot  Agentry app deployment ( turn on agentry logging and check for startup errors ).
check this thread for SMP 3.0 Server Installation troubleshooting.

  • Initial download taking time for CTParts in syclo inventory manager 3.2

    Hi All,
While doing the Initial download in syclo inventory manager 3.2 we have observed that it is taking a lot of time for fetching the data from the complex table CTParts.
In agentry diagram CTParts complex table is showing nine fields, out of this nine fields few fields like UOM, BatchIndicator etc does not have any dependency. So can i delete those fields?
If yes, what will be the impact on application after deleting those fields .
    Thanks for your help

    Garima,
You  need to analyze couple of things before making any program changes:-
    a) Can you check if you have set filter for ctparts MDO object in SAP ?  if MDO filter for plant points to user parameter "WRK'  , look at value of WRK in SU3.  Make sure that you have plant value maintained for WRK parameter.
    b) if indeed WRK value is maintained then go to MARC and check the number of  materials that exists for WRK  plant. if it is too many then do you  really all those materials downloaded to Mobile device ? check if you can maintain other filters values to restrict material records downloaded like material type , material group etc.
    c) Check  the point of bottlecheck a) whether it takes more  time to execute query in SAP . b) whether it takes time to transfer data from SAP to Java layer.  if so try to increase Java heap size.
    d)  Also look at MDO  field selections for ctparts in SAP. Only  select fields that you want to do.
    e) Did you create additional indexes for ctparts  complex table ?
    f)  Finally if nothing works then look at option of replacing output structure in BAPI  which return CTparts with Z structure with only required 9 fields which also  requires Z Java code changes for ctparts complex table.
    Thanks

  • Inventory management for Equipment

    Hello Experts,
One of our client is currently using SAP-ERP system. They are having sensitive equipment for their safety purpose to all the gate securities. Now they are using Third party tool for their application. The current system is not reliable for tracking the material flow, equipment tracking, and online inspection for the equipment. Currently they are having 40posts (Gates).Different type of equipment is located in all the posts based on its range.
Equipment issue, Retrieve equipment, conumption posting, scrap accounting also maintain in MM
So they want to automate this process in SAP system  which includes all the Employee details (Security),Medical Fitnessu2026u2026u2026for ease tracking of the equipment ,status of the equipment, employee equipment training, online-inspection and security shift change details.
How to map this scenario in MM?Awaiting for your valuable reply.
