Query opening problem in Bex analyzer

Hi Gurus,
I am getting this particular problem when trying to open same query from two different systems.
I work from my home system on a query and save it and when i try to open the same query through my office system it throws out an error
" this Query was opened in a higher version or diferent version " . It doesnt allow me to open.
Please let me know if anyone faced the same problem and how did they solve it?

Satish,
The reason must be one from the below.
Either the excel version at home is advanced to that of your office,
or The SAP front- end level may be different.
Agian if you are working on the same system both at office and at home, it sometimes relates to the servers you logged into and the settings yo have on those servers.

Problem in executing query in browser and bex analyzer

i am not able to execute query in browser nor bex analyzer...
problem is that i dont have option to run in bex analyzer in query designer (menu bar seems missing in query designer and how can i get enabled

and i tried to open the query from bex analyzer level
it prompts me as follows
macros are disabled because the security level is set to high and digitally signedtrusted certificate is not attached to the macros,to run the macros change the security level to lower settings

i am using sap gui 7.20 front end and when i execute rrmx i am able to navigate to BEx analyzer but when i tried to open a report which i create i get following error message..
you do not have sufficient authorization for infoprovider zic_proj
function module /SDF/AL_MAP_TRANSID_LOGH doesnt exit
second thing is that i tried from bex query designer to execute the report ..but i am not able to execute the report...
i hope some connections seems missing..please let me know what to do ASAP..

Problem in BEx analyzer output in BI dev and BI Quality

Hi All
I am facing a problem in BEx analyzer output in BI Dev and BI Quality server where the query is make on BI infoset.
When i am executing the query in BI dev server then it is giving the output result but when i tried to executing the BI query in BI quality server the i got 'No available data found result'.
I have also checked the same selection input result in infoprovider for infoset and output is getting for the same.
Please suggest for regarding solution.

Hi,
check whether you have loaded data in to quality server if no, please load data for all the target involved in info set. If data loaded check all the target 'request for reporting available 'or not.
Also check whether data is showing in infoset or not.. if data availble there change your selection critiria accordingly.

Problem with bex analyzer v7

Hello,
I have installed SAP GUI 7.10 and everything is working fine, but the bex analyzer. The problem is that I can see the Toolbox but when Im clicking on the icons of the toolbox it does not work at all, it does not execute anything, so i can not open or edit queries and so on. I have tried to install the last patches (bw 11 and 12), but I can not, I got a message that the patches already exist.
I would like to know what should I install for making it works..hopefully someone could help because I have tried almost everything and I dont know what is the problem.

I do not mean it, i do not need to launch the correct version of the analyzer from the bw system via rrmx transaction. My problem is that wehn i launch the analyzer via windows like this:
start -> Business explorer -> Analyzer
I can not use the functionalities of the analyzer, they are inactive. The point is: Is it something related with the SAP GUI installion? Have something to do with excel? Or with the windows service pack??
I have installed in my computer the following:
- SAP GUI 7.10
-Windows service pack 2
- Microsoft office 2003.

Opening queries in BEx Analyzer

Hi,
We have a new SAP BW installation. When we try to open a query from the BEx Browser, it is opened with an Internet Browser instead of BEx Analyzer. The same occurs if we try to open it from the Favorites menu in the administrator workbench.
Does anybody know where we can change the setting so that the queries open in Excel?

You define the standard Web template in the SAP Reference IMG->Business Information Warehouse->Reporting-Relevant Settings.

Query Not Running Via BEX Analyzer Role Menu

Hi All,
I have a problem when executing queries via the BEX Analyzer role menu. I can select a query from a role but, when I select the query to run, nothing happens. When I select the same query from the infoarea it runs without any problems. This behaviour occurs for all our queries so is not specific to a particular query.
We're running on version 3.5 and I've just upgraded to the latest patch but this hasn't helped at all.
If I use the role menu via the web application designer the queries all work fine so the problem looks to be pointing at the role menu within BEX Analyzer.
Any ideas ?

this issue is more related to Security , Roles & authorisation.
u will have to talk to Security team.
While installing latest patch,usuallys uch trouble occurs.
the excel extensions , roles gets affected sometime..

Problem in BEX Analyzer

No data is showing in BEX though infocube shows the data.

Check if data in infocube is available for reporting, Goto context menu of cube -
> manage -
> requests tab --> check and see if the 'request for reporting' column has the query icon.
Also, do you have aggregates defined on u r cube. If uo do, you will have to roll up aggregates.
right click cube -> manage --> Rollup tab -> Press Execute button
after its complete goto requests tab and refresh, the u will be able to see the icon for 'request for reporting' available.
run your query again and you shd be able to see data.
If the above dont work search the forums for more info, this problem has been discussed several times.

Problem with BEx Analyzer

I have a problem with the Bex Analyzer. It is showing th details in German Language and i am not able to do anything on it.
Can anyone help me in this issue.

I also faced same problem, but i Installed latest patch so i got solved my problem.
But if you are running Office 2003 then you required patch from Microsoft. that is related to frame work.

BI 7.0 Infoset query open problem: query_tech_name_Fxx is not a valid char.

Our BASIS transport our BW 3.5 queries to BI 7.0 system. We can open all queries on the BI 7.0 box without problem except Infoset queries. The Infoset is composed of two ODSs and when openning it BI 7.0 query designer, can not see any design element in the panes of Rows, Columns, Free Char. and etc., instead the error msg shows (in between two dashed lines below):
Terminate: query_technical_name_Fxx is not a valid characteristic for InfoProvider [A122(BRAIN)]
Diagnosis
Customer enhancement RSR00002 or the implementation of BAdI RSR_OLAB_BADI delivers query_technical_name_Fxx as the characteristic to be calculated. 1. is, however, not a valid key figure for InfoProvider .
System Response
The information from query_technical_name_Fxx is ignored.
Procedure
Check the exit.
Procedure for System Administration
We've checked the enhancement RSR00002 and it's components and find they are all the same as our BW 3.5 system. query_technical_name_Fxx is Company Code InfoObj. in one ODS and it's one of the key to join these two InfoSets.

Facing problem in Bex analyzer

Hi,
Try the option of inter changing the rows and columns. Is the M1 and M2 are chars?
You can check in the Preview in Query Designer.

Cannot open query in Excel (BEX analyzer)

Hello Experts,
Issue: Cannot open the BEX report in Excel but can open the same report on IE.
1) I am trying to open a BEX report "ReportA" in Excel (BeX Analyzer).
2) As soon as the report opens it shows me a message "Do you want to open the 3.X workbook for upgrade"
3) I click on "OK"
4) then i get a message window listing a lot of warnings liike " Access to project denied" "creation of items failed"
5) i click on "OK"
6) Now, variable entry screen appears
7) i enter values and click on "OK" the report does not show any data.
Now, the same report "reportA" when i open it in Internet Explorer, it displays data. What can be reason for this problem in BEX analyzer ?

Hi Suraj,
If you want to execue your query, you can use the bex analyzer.
If you are opening the query from query designer 3.x query in 7.0 fronend, it will get upgraded and then cannot be reveted.
In your case this automatic migration might be havng some issues, owing to complexities.
Please recheck.

BEx Analyzer cannot open query, button is in German

Hi Gurus,
I am using MS Excel 2003 and have installed all windows updates. I even have successfully installed the patch KB907417 from Microsoft, but still I cannot open queries using BEx Analyzer. The BEx icons display German labels instead.
How should I fix this?
Please recommend links for SAP GUI and BEx updates and patches.

Hi Btup,
First just try to install Install Microsoft Excel patches version of Excel is: Excel 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3 and see how it goes.
If it doesn't work then try following steps:
Install SAPGUI 710 to Level 4
Install bw350gui710_1-10004473.exe to install patch BI 3.x to Level 1.
Install bw350gui710_2-10004473.exe to install patch BI 3.x to Level 2.
Install bi710_2-10004472.exe to install patch BI 710 to Level 2.
Install bi710sp02p_201-10004472.exe to install patch BI 710 to SP2.
Install bi710sp03_300-10004472.exe to install patch BI 710 to SP3.
Install bi710sp04_400-10004472.exe to install patch BI 710 to SP4.
Install Microsoft Excel patches version of Excel is: Excel 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3

BEx Analyzer Workbook, display query 2 under query 1

Hello Guys,
actually I got a problem and did not find a solution for that.
I have a query, displaying all cars from one particular salesorg. Under this query I want to add a new query displaying all other cars, not belonging to that salesorg. Now I have two problems:
1) Is there an automated way to display one query among another in bex analyzer, if the number of rows in each query is not constant?
2) Can I negate the variable from my first query (not salesorg in first query)?

why can't you do this in one query?
You can create two selections:
One for that particular salesorg can use restriction on "salesorg"
another selection uses "salesorg" restrictions of excluding that particular salesorg

SAP Bex Analyzer (Netweaver 7.1) Opens workbooks twice when starting.

We just upgraded from bex 3.5 to 7.1, and have set it to open the Analyzer whenever excel starts. But now whenever we open an excel workbook it opens each workbook twice. We have one file in the XLSTART folder that loads in macro's but just opens a blank workbook. The file we are opening has code that sets calculation to manual and prompts the user that it has set to manual.
Whenever we open a file, it promps the user twice about setting it to manual, but only 1 workbooks pops up (because excel only allows one workbook with the same name to be open at a time), but we also get two blank workbooks that open up because the file in the XLSTART folder is being opened twice as well.
Has anyone else seen this problem with workbooks being opened twice, or attempting to be opened twice with bex analyzer 7.1?

What version of SAP-GUI are you using ? SAP-GUI 7.2 (latest version) was heavily rewritten using Visual Studio and SAP has stated that certain features that existed in earlier SAP-GUI versions are no longer available (it's Microsoft's Fault). It is also quite possible that your initial launch macro in Excel is causing the problem.
I would personally recommend that you do NOT launch Bex Analyzer when Excel opens, unless this is your primary method to interact with Bex workbooks and such. That may resolve your issue.

BEx Analyzer issue

Hello Experts,
I am facing a problem with the query execution in the BEX analyzer.The problem is like this.
When the local user is trying to open a report in BW production system (which is available and seen in his roles) he is directly entering to Excel work book with out getting the selection screen and of course no data is seen in this work book.
But when the local key user is entering into the system with his own user Id he is able to see the report with a selection screen. That is, the query is working in normal mode.
Could you please help me to resolve this ssue.

Hi,
What message displays in the Workbook results area when the local user tries to access it?
If a "No applocable data found" message is displayed after no selection screen was made available, you may find that the user made use of variable personalizations, in which case the variable screen will not appear again unless forced by making use of the "Change Query" button and selecting "Change Variable Values"
If a "You are not authorized...." message appears you will need to compare the roles of the local and key users, as this is then an authoriztion problem.
