Can i use Query or Quick viewer as report?
Do i have to prepare functional spec for this?

Hi
First you need to create the report using Tcod SQVI
and then it will ask for creating a query where you will use and also can join various tables according to your requirement.
And then finally select the fields that you want to display in the report.

Dear expert,
Would like to seek for your help, how to use (SQVI) quick viewer/SAP query to generate the listing of and can I use SQVI -quick viewer and select the data source as logical database source to generate in order to generate the listing of GL account number,GL account descrition , tax category,posting without tax allowed column in the query by company?

Thank you for the prompt reply, what I would like the query to generate is the master data GL listing for GL account,GL description,Tax category, posting without tax allowed column where i use BRF as the data source for logical database to generate the quick viewver but the BRF data source do not have the GL description.
How I can join table/join query or what are the data source should i use so that i can able to generate the query with GL master data listing by company code by display GL account,GL description,Tax category, posting without tax allowed?
Between,do you have any reference/link/document on the how to use the SQV1?
Also, what the difference between SQV1 and SQ01 ?
And also what are the sap query,inforset query,quick viewer mean for and what are the difference between them also when should i use sap query,inforset query,quick viewer to generate the query?

Query's Quick Viewer Simulation.

I'm trying to do anything similar to the Query's Quick Viewer, but I don't know how exactly do the dragging simulation for make a field wider.

U can create view in SE11......
U can Create Query in SQ01...........but for that first u hav to create infoset in SQ02 which will connect the tables......then create Query in SQ01......there.........you specify the infoset that you want to use......

Problems in creation of workbook using Change query local view.

Hi Experts,
I have created a Multiprovider by using union of two infocubes and created a Query based on Multiprovider. I want to restrict one infocube in Change Query local view for creating new workbooks. In Query global view we drag and drop the Infocube under Filters, but in the Query local view Filter panel is in disable mode. (My requirement is to create the workbooks using change query local view only)
How can I restrict the one Infocube values in the workbooks by using Change query local view?

As you told that the query is on multi provider and the view is not allowing to declare/define filter value
Just drag the infoprovider info object avilable under packet dimension to rows and right click on it restrict by selecting the name of the info provider when u right click it will show you the option of restrict once u click on it,it will takes to u a pop up where you can able to see the name of info providers and you specify according to it and finally in the display of results if you dont want to to display the info provider name then just right click on the 0infoprovider object under rows go to properties then choose hide option under display.

SQVI - Quick Viewer Report on Vendor

Hi Guru,
I need to write a Quick viewer query ( SQVI) to populate
1.Vendor
2.Country
3.email address
4.standard communication method
I joined LFA1- LIFNR;
            LFA1-LAND1;
             LFA1-ADRNR
and then from ADR6 table
             ADR6-ADDRNUMBER ( this is LFA1-ADRNR number)
             ADR6-SMTP-ADDR ( for email),
            i dont know about standard communication method field
Its not working, can you please help me.

If you have created a QuickView and you want to convert it to an SAP Query
report, simply follow these three quick steps:
1. Navigate to the main screen of the SAP Query (SQ01).
2. Follow the menu path Queries > Convert QuickViews.
3. Select your QuickView from the drop-down box and press the Enter button.
You are prompted to type a name for the query; press Enter again to convert
the QuickView.

Quick view in sqvi

Dear gurus,
i have created one quick view for scheduling agreement where in all pending delivery schedules for a perticuler period will appear . but i am not getting the table for OBMNG ( open quantity ).
if this is the result of deduction from scheduled qty to GR qty. & is set in the programme.
then how to take it in the quick view

I don't believe this functionality is available in SQVI. For this, you would have to create a regular (not quickview) query in SQ01. Regular queries support the creation of local fields, which can be calculations. See online help at

Quick Viewer

Hi Guys,
how can i get <b>company code specific data(customer master data) using quick viewer</b>?
as i know we dont get any selection criteria.
it it is not possible can somebody explain how can i extract all customer master data particular to a company code?(not from SE16)

SQVI is used to convert a Quick View into a query.
Quick Viewer:
The Quick Viewer allows you to define reports without having to program yourself. The Quick
Viewer is especially useful for new users and occasional use.
Quick Viewer is a tool for generating reports. SAP Query offers the user a whole range of options for defining reports. SAP Query also supports different kinds of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists. Quick Viewer, on the other hand, is a tool that allows even relatively inexperienced users to create basic lists.
Quick View definitions are user-dependent. You can transfer a Quick View into SAP Query in order to make reports, for example, accessible to additional users, or to use the other functions available in SAP Query.
The following is a comparison of Quick Views and queries:
Quick Views possess the same functional attributes as queries. However, only basic lists may be defined with Quick Views.
In contrast to queries, no user group assignment is necessary with Quick Views. Each user has his/her own personal list of Quick Views. Quick Views cannot be exchanged between users. Quick Views may, however, be converted to queries and then be made available to other users in a specific user group.
Info Sets are not required for Quick View definition. Whenever you define a Quick View, you can specify its data source explicitly. Tables, database views, table joins, logical databases, and even Info Sets, can all serve as data sources for a Quick View. You can only use additional tables and additional fields if you use an Info Set as a data source.
The Quick Viewer uses various controls. Certain hardware and software requirements must also be fulfilled before you can use the Quick Viewer.
To define a Quick View, you select certain fields according to your data source that determine the structure of your report. The report can be executed in basis mode with standard layout or may be edited using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available in WYSIWYG mode.
Reports created using the Quick Viewer may also be passed to external programs (Excel, for example).
Call the Quick Viewer using System -> Services -> Quick Viewer (or transaction SQVI).
Enter the name of the Quick View. Quick View names can contain a maximum of 14 characters.
Choose Create.
Enter a title for the Quick View and remarks, if you think they are relevant.
If you do not want to base your list on a table, use the possible entries pushbutton in the Data source field to select another data source. You can choose logical databases or Info Sets. In addition, you may also create table joins. For further information, see Selecting a Data Source.
Choose Basis mode if you want to create the list directly with no list design. Choose Layout mode if you want to define the layout of your list yourself.
SQVI Table Quick viewer Used to created quick client dependent reports
Probably the easiest and most flexible way to do this is thru one of the ABAP query transactions.
Transaction SQVI can do this and it has a very good help function that explains how it works... the drawback is that it is only for one user.
You can play around with it and see if it meets your needs...
The query results will come back in an ALV Grid or Excel... you can select what fields are returned, and have a selection screen to enter the search criteria.
To allow any user to run a query, then you can create an Infoset with transaction SQ02 (you define what fields the user will get in their results, and what fields will appear on the selection screen), then create a multi user query using transaction SQ01 and the infoset you created in SQ02. One of the basis people can then create a transaction from your sq01 query, and that transaction can then be moved into production.
SQVI and SQ02/SQ01 are far more powerful than SE16 as they allow you to do table joins. SQ02 also allows you to create computed fields.

Quick Viewer - SQVI

Hi,
We have developed a query using quick viewer.
A program is generated internally, when we save the Query.
Can we transport the program from development system to quality and then to production..?
Please respond as early as possible.

Hi,
You write the query and generate the program in the client where you need this, then in golden client create a transaction code for this program, add the program name and include that in a request and transport till production.
If you need it for QA and development also you need to create the query there locally.

Quick Viewer share to all users

Hi,
I have 2 questions on Quick Viewer.
1. How can I access other people developed query? I cant access even though it has been developed by some other person.
2. How can I share the access with others if the query is not intended to access public?

@1:    - go to transaction SQ02 -> Settings: tick the checkbox DISPLAY SYSTEM OBJECTS
         - then go back to SQ01, now you have in the STANDARD AREA user groups with the quickviews of
            each user
@2:    use in SQVI the menu quickview -> additioal functions-> generate programm and display program name and make a transaktion out of the generated program

Quick Viewer SQVI: how to switch to Technical Field Names on select screen?

Hi all,
I have created in SQ01 a Quick view and want to see the technical field names (and not the descriptions) on the selection screen.
In SE16 in the selection screen you go to
-> Settings
-> User parameters
unter 'keywords' you find FIELD NAME / LABEL and you can choose.
But in SQVI there is not that option.
Only in the creation of the query you can 'switch between techniucal name and long text'.
However if you execute and come to the selection screen then there is only the long text....
Who knows????

I also tried with different options but it looks like SAP does not have option to display technical fields in output, however we can see technical names while creating query.

Hi , Try out these steps :
Pre requisites.
1. User group name where the Infoset is assigned to
2. Query name.
Steps.
1. Go to SE93
2. Put your transaction name.
3. Click on Create.
4. Input a short text.
5. Select "Transaction with Parameters" radio button.
6. Enter "START_REPORT" in transaction field under "Default values for" tab.
7. Check "Skip Initial Screen"
8. Check "Inherit GUI attributes".
9. Under Default Values "Name of Screen field"
a) D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE Value: AQ
b) D_SREPOVARI-REPORT Value: (Usergroup Name)
c) D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT Value: (Query Name)
10. Save.

In my understanding you may be able to extract the query which are created through Infoset creation by SQ02 and may not be
able to extract the one's which are created using SQVI.
But is this a business requirement?
