Query regarding meta chain in SAP BI

Hi can any body solve the problem on this Meta chain in SAP BI..
There is a meta chain which holds three process chains say N1,N2,N3. in a sequential order.
Now here as soon as the meta chain is triggered the process chain N1 is executed properly and is is in green..but after this the next process chain N2 is not getting triggered..can anybody tell me the reason for that??

check the start parameter of 2nd chain
it should be immediate

Hello Gurus,
I want to trigger the meta chain process. Please find metachain process:
Metachain:---
Start
Local chain 1
Local chain 2
Program1
Program2
Program3
Now error occured in Local chain 2 (last process is Create index which failed)
I created the index manually and manually killed the job.
Now I want to trigger the next process after the local chain 2 which is Program1. I tried using RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
but not of use as its applicable to the next process trigger and not the process after local chain

Provide the following details:

LOGID: Get this from
RSPC->Open the process chain->we see Log ID in left pane
CHAIN: Specify your chain name
TYPE: we can get type details in RSPCPRROCESSLOG table from SE11
For eg: Info package use: Loading
For DTP: DTP_LOAD
VARIANT: Get these details from Right Click on variant-> Display Messages->Chain (tab)
INSTANCE: Get these details from Right Click on variant-> Display Messages->Chain (tab)
STATE: Select the required action to be done , for your case its green:
Execute the process (F8). And refresh the Process chain now we can able to see the variant skips and move to next instance.

Query regarding CreditMemo in SAP B1?

Hi Friends,
I have a query regarding SAP B1 Sales CreditMemo.
In Sales A/P CreditMemo,the Document status is Open or Close..
Whtat's the meaning of that?Is it related to Payments?
Please give me fine <b>idea about the CreditMemo DocStatus</b> present in ORIN.

Hi Sooriya,
It is not always related to Incoming Payments. We are talking about A/R Credit Memo.
1. If the credit memo is based on an A/R Invoices, the Documents status will be Closed. No need for the incoming payments to close this document.
2. If the credit memo is not based on any documents. You will need to create an Incoming Payments to close this document. But of course, credit memo means a negative amount so you must combine it with any a/r invoice to be able to create the incoming payments.
Remember that all document which is Closed means that it is already paid or is based on any marketing documents. Hoep this helps...

Failed meta chain maintenance in Process chain in SAP BI

Hi all,
I have a Process chain having the meta chain of master data population.When successful , proceeds with the further steps in process chain. It has been scheduled in midnight.
After monitoring the PC , found the error in the master meta chain , so i repeat the step.
Here , after success of meta chain all steps gets running down the line till the end step in PC.
I do not want to re-run the steps below meta chain after repeat step.
Any Ideas to ignore the re-run ??

Hi,
If your Process is still running(Yellow color status) then right click it and go to Schduled Jobs. On this you will go to Job Overview there you can press STOP.
Else go to the SM37, there you can go and select your process using your process ID and STOP it.
And if you want to kill the complete process chain then go for Remove from Schedule.
Different Ways to stop process chain
1)SM37 -->Kill Job
2)SM50/sm66- ->Kill process
3)RSPC>Job Log>Make the process RED forecefully.
4)RSPC>Process chain> main Menu"Remove from Scheduling" OR
5)se37-->RSPC_API_CHAIN_INTERRUPT
give RFC BW system name(technical) and process chain name(technical)
Steps 1 -3 stops the chain running in process
Steps 4-5 stops the chain AFTER the current job which is running is completed as sucessful or Failure by nature.

I'm new to SAP BI, can anyone pleas explain me why we need to use Process Chains in a simpler way?
Also it would be great if someone can give me step by step description for creating process chain. I've seen couple of PDF files but they confusing me more then clearing my doubts. Appreciate your time and thanks in advance.

Hi Vandana,
1.Go to RSPC tcode ->(F5) create ->It will ask for process chain name ->then it will ask for start variant
2.If you have no start variant pre created then create new one (at right side there will be a paper symbol for that ).Every process chain has one and only one start variant that is to set scheduling option etc .When you will create a new one you will go to a screen where you have scheduling option .
3.a) Direct scheduling ->to start execution immediately
b) start using meta chain or API ->chains which run at specific time (day ,month etc or after some specific event ). save your settings and go back .click check symbol for final creation of start variant.
4.Now at left screen you have chain symbol (process types) .when you will click on that you will have all the process lists .
5.You can select process as per your requirement and connect different processes together.Each process is a different event (ex : load DTP ,Infopackage ,ABAP program ,AND ,Interrupt ).You cna do detailed study for that .
6.After adding all processes activate (ctrl+F3) and execute .
7.After that you can check logs (shift+F1) .you can see todays log ,yesterday and today etc .For details of every process execution right click on process and see display variant .
Hope this will be helpful for basic startup.you can further read thoroughly on each process .

Process Meta Chain

Hello Gurus,
Could you kindly give me the difference between 'Direct' started process chains and API started meta chains?
Under what circumstances are they used?
I have created a chain using direct method.
There are jobs created for BI Process but they are all waiting for an event. I triggered the event but the batch job runtime error 'cancelled'. Seems like it is waiting for a predecessor event which I am not sure what it means since the predecessor is the start process.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Adette,
If you want the chain to run immediately, click change selections button that is next to the Direct schedule radio button. In the dialog box that appears click the Immediate button.save it.
Again click save button in the Maintain start Process window. Go back and save you process chain and activate it.
Now your Process chain will start immediately wnen you execute it.
Direct scheduling is the option to execute your process chain individually without waiting for any other chains.
Start using Meta chain is the start of your process chain is fixed to another Process chain.

How to find meta chain

One of our local chain is running daily, but it's not run on monday.
We have not able to see meta chain of the local chain.

Meta Chain Issue

Hi All,
I have some meta chains in the process chain and all of the meta chains are triggered using-
"Start using Meta Chain or API"
Its evident that, once we triggerr the start varinat in the main chain the rest of meta chains get triggered. In our case one particular meta chain is not getting triggered at all. But the rest have gone fine. In the process chain Log view, its staying in yellow for a long time and in SM37, the job is getting cancelled.
the message I got in Log view, at the time the meta chain gets triggered is, "Process chain variant is ZA******** is not scheduled waiting for event RSPROCESS 4A******"
I have tried all the possibilities of "Repeat, Kill the process in SM51"
Can you please advise, the solution for this.

hi,
right click on that meta chain yu will reach the planning view there in change selcetion icon .. you set the setting to immediate and remove the tick for perodic and then schedule it ..

Hello Raja,
please check first if you can rebuild the cube from any internal source (DSO, PSA or other cubes) of your system. Well, it's more likely that you do not have all the data available anymore.
Another relatively easy way is to create a clone of your current BW system based on the last DB backup (you have to use a different SID and/or a different host). After configuring the clone, RFC and transport configuration you will be able to transport that cube or to load the data again from this new remote data source. This requires to have enough disk capacity to hold this BW clone.
After all, this work will not be covered by SAP's Develoment Support but is consulting (e.g. as offered by Volker).

i have one scenario. during running the delta program in R3, and at the end of the code, send an RFC message to BW, which can trigger a job in BW which will start 1 meta chain.
please let me know how this can be done and what ABAP code needs to be written there.

How to change process chain in SAP APO, in RSCP tcode.

HI SAP APO Experts
I am from SAP ABAP background, I need to change a 'AND' operator in process chain in RSCP tranaaction in SAP APO.
I dont have any idea how to change process chain.
Could you please help me how to change process chain in SAP APO in RSCP tcode.

Hi Sandeep,
The t-code RSCP does not exist in SAP APO. The correct t-code is RSPC.
Step 1:- In RSPC t-code, select the process chain which you need to change.
Step 2:- Double click on it.
Step 3:- It will display the various programmes attached to the process chain. Go to change mode by clicking on the change indicator (Control + F9)
Step 4:- Select the programme area where you need to do the correction or change. Double click on it.
Step 5:- It will take you to the programme and its selection contents. Make the relevant changes. You can directly carry out the change in se38 also if there is variant kind of changes for that particular programme.
Step 6:- Once the changes are done, save the changes and press F3 button which will take you to the home page of the process chain
Step 7:- Save again so that the change in the programme alongwith the process chain will get saved.

Currently I am getting Only 4 columns and 10 rows in One Page .And I am getting 1,2 etc tabs for both row and column. So i want to increase the column length more than 100 and row length more than 10000.

Query regarding Useful Life

Hi SAP guru
I have one query regarding useful life of asset,
If i purchased a asset in rs 200000 , wdv rate is 20% and put the useful life 4 year, in last year i want to depreciate the asset upto 1 Rs.
Capitalisation date is 01.04.2008.
Ex -     Acquisition value   Ordinary depreciation net book value
2008 200,000.00               40,000.00-             160,000.00
2009 200,000.00                32,000.00-           128,000.00
2010 200,000.00                25,600.00-           102,400.00
2011   200,000.00               20,480.00-           81,920.00
2012 200,000.00                                          81,920.00
Client requirement is in year 2011 asset should depreciate upto Rs 1.

If you want to your asset depreciation based on useful life that is 4 years, please select check box Rem.life in multi level method of that dep. key.and enter the useful life as 4 years in the assets master.
when come to restricting value to 1Re. specify the memo value for that asset class.
AA>Valuation>Amt.specification>Specify memo value.
