Query related to Information broadcasting

Hi,
I just want to know how many workbooks can be broadcasted at a given point of time to the users via email. How do i know if there is a limit to this option.

Hi Jay,
There is no technical limitation as such you can broadcast any no. of workbooks to users via email. Now few things which you can check are,
1) If you broadcast many workbooks then it might fulfill user Inbox, now that totally depends on the size of each of the workbook, some time you might be able to broadcast 20 workbooks and other time you may broadcast only 10.
2) If you want to broadcast at the same time then it depends on your precal-server about how many workbooks it can process at the given point in time.
But technically there is no limit.

Information Broadcasting Authorization at Query Level

Hi,
I would like to know, is there any way to authorized a user at query level in information broadcasting?
For example, there are three plant P1,P2 and P3 showing in Query, now i want to broadcast this query to E-mail to two user U1 and U2 in following manner.
1.) User U1 get only Plant P1 Data.
2.) User U2 get only Plant P2 Data.

Yes, you can do that. For that;
Plant should be authorization relevant info object
(ii) you must have roles to give access to users at Plant level
(iii) Users U1 and U2 must be SAP user IDs and should have required role for Plant access
(iv) Query to be broadcasted must have auhtorization variable for Plant
Once the basic setup is ready, you can test it by executing the report for individual users U1 and U2 and they should see data only for respective Plants.
Now in the broadcasting setting, specify the users U1 and U2 in User box seperated by semi-colon and tick the checkbox "User Specific" - this will make sure that data is executed as per the data aurthoziation and also format will be selected as per the user profile (date format etc).
If U1 and U2 are not the SAP users, you will have give their email addresses and will have to create two different broadcast settings to send data for selection plants.

Information Broadcasting(urgent)

Dear Folks,
Here requirement is need to send query alerts using information broadcasting.
In the Braodcast settings Distribution type is showing only "BroadCast Email", no other options are showing..
I want to select "Broadcast according to exception" in Distribution type,but its not showing..
how will get the above option..is there any setting required...
its urgent please reply as early as possible..

For showing these options..is there any authorizations required..
Here I am explaining you how I started Broadcast settings..
1.Open Query using URL( this URL got it from SCIF transaction)
2.There it is showing Information Broadcasting option(Push button)
3. in query settngs I selected particular query to broadcast..
4.then I selected Create new setting..
In distribution type its only showing Broadcast Email..its not showing desired one..
Its urgent..please shed on lights in this query..

In FI Queries, I did not use 0CALMONTH Variable...
I do not know why it is giving that error..

How to stop the information broadcasting mail if the output of the query is

Hi everyone, We have a requirement to not to send the information broadcasting mail in case if the query output is blank (ie no applicable data). However as per the schedule the mail should go in case if there is applicable data. In other words, users are not interested in opening the broadcasted mail to see if there is any applicable data or not. Inputs will be certainly rewarded

Information Broadcasting - change to query does not show

Hi,
I'm on BW 3.5 and have created a scheduled Information Broadcasting setting for a query, that is emailed. This has been working fine for some weeks.
I have now changed the query, removing two key figures and replacing them with two formulas.
The output from Information Broadcasting does not show the new key figures, nor does it show the old key figures (!). I have maintained the IB setting, edited text in the message and saved it. The text has changed, but not the query content.
So, how does one make Information Broadcasting recognise query changes? Obviously, I could delete the setting and set up a new one, but this is a poor solution - there must be a better way. Or not?

Manually Executing Information Broadcasting

Dear all experts,
I have a requirement to send an email to related reponsible persons, when there is unwanted data (e.g. value X is greater than a treshold). At first I tried to use the Information Broadcating technique with defining an exception. However, I encountered some of these problems.
1) I want the information to be broadcasted authomatically after the approver verify the information first. For example, if the approver approved the data, and there are some unwanted data in those approved data, the information should be broadcasted to responsible persons. However, if the approver does not approve it, the information should not be sent.
2) From the provious problem, I tried to find a way to execute the information broadcasting manually (maybe by ABAP Programming), after the approver approves the data. Unfortunately, I can't find any function or any class to do so.
All of this is just an idea of beginner. It would be great, if you have others better solutions.

Using information broadcasting u can precalculate and send the query or webtemplate, workbook, queryview to email or portal.
Your requirements is somewhat strange.
In information broadcaster one setting is called Exception broadcasting, but it is not suitable for your requirements(as far as i know). Because whenever exception occurs in your query it will broadcast to mail or alert that's it .
May be we will wait for some bw experts reply.

Issue with Information broadcasting and pre-cal server in SAP BI

Hi Experts,
I have issue with information Broadcasting and Pre-cal server. I have a worrkbook whcih runs from information broadcasting in pre-cal server. Workbook is desinged on single query and workbook contains visual basic code. workbook has a variable which is controlled by Control query in information broadcasting.
I have 20 employees every month I need to send workbook via e-mail from information broadcasting. The problem is sometimes all 20 employees will recieve e-mails and sometimes not. I identified there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
because after workbook calculation in pre-cal server is not pushing to SOST so there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
I closely observed pre-cal server front end log. There are few operations performing on workbook in pre-cal server
like Open workbook, Calculate workbook, Save woorkbook and close workbook. In success case pre-cal sever is performing all the operations but in failure case pre-cal server is missing Close workbook case.

I went into RSPRECADMIN and clicked on 'Display Current Queue'. There we have 3 sections
1) Queue Overview of Open Precalculations
I can see this section is always blank after running IB also
2) Queue Overview of Current Precalculations
In this section I can see an entry after running IB and duration is changing. but some time workbook in this section will never processed but the duration column is changing may be something is happening at this stage.
If the entry is not proccessed in this section and IB SM37 job will never end. I manually cancelled the job from SM50.
Don't why the workbook is taking long time and will never end even though I cancelled the SM37 IB job.
3) Queue Overview of Proccessed Error-Free Precalculations
All the error free workbooks which means all pre-cal server completed workbook calculation and sent to SOST.
I manually ran the workbook for all the 20 employees I can't find any pop-up message (earlier we have pop-up windows appearing because of VB code and when report returns no data and we fixed the pop-up issues)
Can you please help me further to trace the error.

Query related to multiple attachments in mail adapter

Hi,
I have a query related to multiple attachments in receiver mail adapter.
I have successfully configured mail related scenarios but now I have another requirement in which I have multiple source files in one directory and I want to send one mail for multiple files as mail attachment using receiver mail adapter. Can anybody help me how to achieve multiple attachments in reciever mail adapter.
To clarify the requirement more let us take an example
Ex: I have 5 input files in the source which I pick up using additional files option in the sender file adapter, now I want to send those 5 files into one mail with 5 attachments. Can anybody explain how 5 different payload will be sent as multiple attachments in one mail.
For your information I used, options like "keep attachments" , some parameters in module processesors etcs...but not able to find out as how exactly it will be achieved.......I dont want to use BPM collect pattern for this.....
Need your help on this issue. Please suggest the solution as how it can be achieved using receiver mail adapter.

Information Broadcasting in SAP BI 7.3

Hi All,
We have a requirement to send a report to few recipients through Information Broadcasting in .CSV file. When I entered Info Broadcast setting through BEx analyzer, I am not able to find the option to send the file in .CSV format. I could only see MHTML, HTML and Links to current data. Could you please help me out in solving this?

Unfortunately it is only possible to broadcast with the output format CSV with a query or query view. That is by design.

Query related to GAL

Hello All,
We are in process of implementing Exchange 2013 in our Organization and had a Query related to GAL.
Below is our Environment description:
01. We have a Single Forest and Single Domain Architecture.
02. We will have separate Active Directory Sites for all 3 Regions across Global.
03. Exchange 2013 will be installed in each region.
04. In APAC region Exchange 2013 Language pack for Japanese will be installed to support Japanese language.
Our Requirement:

01. When a Japanese User tries to browse GAL all the display names have to be displayed in Japanese language and when a user who resides other Region (Europe or AMERICAS) tries to browse GAL the Address list has to be displayed in default English Language.
Can someone guide us on how this can be achieved?

Here are some requirements that I am still not quite sure. Could you please provide more information about it? Such as:
1. Do you mean one user have two display names: one with Japanese language used for users in Japan, one with English language used for English users? Then we filter address lists with language difference. Based on my knowledge, one email address is generally
involved for one display name.
2. If there are both Japanese users and English Language users in the forest, and you just need Japanese users view users whose name is displayed as Japanese language. We can use
Address book policies (ABPs) to segment users into specific groups to provide customized views of your organization’s global address list (GAL).
To show different GAL for different users, we can specify the CustomAttribute1-15 property to divide your organizations. For example, we can set the CustomAttribute15 property for Japanese users to
Japan. Just like:
Set-Mailbox –Identity JapanUser1 –CustomAttribute15 Japan
Then we can create global address list for Japanese that includes all of the recipients that exists in the address lists and room address list:
New-GlobalAddressList -Name "GAL_Japan" -RecipientFilter {(CustomAttribute15 -eq "Japan")}

Query related to UPN Suffix in Hierarchical domain architecture in Active Directory deployment

This is regarding a query related to UPN Suffix in Hierarchical domain architecture in Active Directory deployment.
We use LDAP query (filter uPNSuffixes=* for the parent domain DN) to retrieve the upn suffixes configured in the AD Domain. This returns the UpnSuffixes configured for the entire domain tree ( upnsuffixes of parent domain and all the child domains) in the
hierarchy. The AD Domains and Trusts configuration lists all the upnsuffixes as part of the dnsroot domain.
For one of our implementation, we need to distinguish between the UPNsuffixes belonging to the parent and child domain and map the UPN suffixes with the respective domain in the hierarchy. As the upnsuffixes are stored as part of the root domain in the AD
domains and trusts configuration, it was not clear how to retrieve the information specific to each domain in the hierarchy.
It would be helpful if you could provide pointers on how to obtain the above mapping for the upn suffixes in a hierarchical domain setup.

By default, you can use only the domain name as UPN suffix for user accounts you create within the domain. It is possible to add extra UPN suffixes but these are added at the forest level and not specific to a domain.

Issue with controllable variable in information broadcaster jobs

Hi
I have a workbook with one query which displays different information on two tabs. This query has a controllable variable (customer exit) on "Material" from a query in another info cube.
Everthing is fine when you execute the workbook as you can select the variable from another info cube. However, when I set up information broadcaster job for this workbook, the controllable variable only takes effect on the report in one tab and runs for everying for the report on the other tab.
I tried to change the query slighly but keeping the same controllable variable and insert the new query into the other tab, it still doesn't work for me.
Is this just the limitation of IB or anything else can be done to get the results I want?

Information Broadcasting: Monthly Reporting with variable dates

Dear all,
we have created a lot of reports with RD and have pubished the reports in the portal. Our reports have a lot of selection screens. Now we would like to use information broadcasting. We have already created information broadcasting settings. We have maintained fix variants for our reporting
For example:
Variant x1
Organization: C110
Scenario: Actual
Date: is filled by the user Exit
Now we tried to shedule the report. We are using Variant x1 to find the correct selection. The problem is, that we have already saved a fix date in the variant (for example 01.01.2008), because the field is obligatory.
The User-Exit for the variables works with step 1, but the problem ist, that the variant x1 is overwriting our User-Exit value.
How can I avoid, that the Variant is not overwriting the User-Exit. Of course for reporting without variant, the manual entry has priority before the user exit.

in order to update months, firstly create variants for the reports. Then implement the below program modifying the users inputs. For current month or last month you have to hard something like sy-datum(6), an you have to hard code the field name for the month variable that you use in query.
Below program is for BI 7.0, you can also check the document. It also contains a method for bw 3.5 variants.
You can schedule this program in a process chain or make variations of this as needed.
