Query results more than 200 rows.
Hi all:
I have a problem with a query that results more than 200 rows.
Only show in a table 201 rows and warning about this message: "Query has exceeded 200 rows. Potentially more rows exist, please restrict your query."
Is possible that the query show all results ???
thanks!
Its still a warning. You can continue with work but definitely you can increase the value through the profile value. Anything within 500 wouldn't cause much performance issue.

SQL query results. more than 10 rows
Home>SQL>SQL Commands
Results tab says
More than 10 rows available. Increase rows selector to view more rows.
How can I "Increase rows selector to view more rows."?Sim,
above the text area for the sql command you find a combobox with the label "Display". Initially only 10 records will be displayed.

How to display more than 200 rows in the table?
Hi Experts,
Is that possible to display more than 200 rows in a Table.
when i query from table, it has 1000 rows, i want to display all the 1000 rows in the Table.
when i query, the values are displaying up to 201 rows only,
when i click next on 200 - 201 it throws Exception says
*"Query has exceeded 200 rows. Potentially more rows exist, please restrict your query."*
let me know how to display all the 1000 rows in a table without Exception.
Any idea will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
AswathThe number of rows retrieved is controlled by profile option "FND: View Object Max Fetch Size". I believe 200 is the default value. Pl see these MOS Docs

Single Sub Row Query Returns More Than 1 Row!
I am trying to update values in a table from another table and getting the error: Single Sub Row Query Returns More Than 1 Row.
I want table B's PRV_NAME updated into table A's PRV_NAME where A.PRVID = B.PRVID where B.PRV_TYPE = M'
Both tables have all unique PRVID's, however, table B has PRVID's that have the same name. So table B data can look like this:
PRVID PRV_NAME
1234 PHOENIX MED
1235 SAC MED
1236 SAC MED
1237 OVERLAND
etc..
So, as you can see the PRVID's are unique, but not the PRV_NAME's. Is this the reason why I get this error?
I did not build the tables and have no control over what is put in them. If this is the reason for the error, is there any way to resolve this?
For reference, here is the query. Maybe there is something wrong with this?
update msb_prv_source ps
set ps.prv_name =
(select prv00.prv00_prv_name
from prv00_prv prv00
join msb_prv_source ps
on prv00.prv00_prv_id = ps.prvid
where prv00.prv00_prv_type = 'M')

I want table B's PRV_NAME updated into table A's PRV_NAME where A.PRVID = B.PRVID
Both tables have all unique PRVID's, however, table B has PRVID's that have the same name. So table B data can look like this:
PRVIDIf b.prvid is really unique, then
UPDATE a
SET prv_name = (
SELECT prv_name
FROM b
WHERE a.prvid = b.prvid
;should work, whether the other columns are unique or not.
(Depending on your data and your requirements, you might want to use MERGE rather than UPDATE).
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
In the case of a DML operation (such as UPDATE) the sample data should show what the tables are like before the DML, and the results will be the contents of the changed table(s) after the DML.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

I see you've posted your code now:
update msb_prv_source ps
set ps.prv_name =
(select prv00.prv00_prv_name
from prv00_prv prv00
join msb_prv_source ps
on prv00.prv00_prv_id = ps.prvid
where prv00.prv00_prv_type = 'M')Even if ps.prvid is unique, the sub-query can return more than 1 row if prv00.prv00_prv_id is not unique. When that that's the case, what do you want to happen? Include examples when you post the sample data and desired results. -

Ganesh is right - you will have to dissect the big query bit by bit until you find the offending subquery. If there is another way I would like to find out about it too.
The easiest way to do this is probably to use block comments to isolate parts of the query bit by bit until you find the offending part. If you carefully examine the subqueries you might be able to figure out which one is returning multiple rows without commenting everything
Good luck! -

Single row query returns more than one row
Hi all,
I have a simple update query problem. I have four tables
activist(activist_id,first_name,last_name,c_state),
membership(activist_id,g_n_id),
group_network(g_n_id,g_n_type_id),
school_grop_det(g_n_id,state). For some records in activist table the c_state column is null, i want to update that column with state column of school_group_det table.
Here is the query for the states which are null
select distinct a.activist_id,a.first_name,a.last_name,
a.c_state,sd.state from activist a,membership m,
group_network g,school_group_det sd where
a.activist_id=m.activist_id and g.g_n_id=m.g_n_id and
g.g_n_id=sd.g_N_id and a.c_state is null and g.g_n_type_id='1001'
order by a.activist_id
I got the activist_id,first_name,last_name,c_state from activist and state from school_group_det. now i as i told you want to update the c_state with state column of school_group_Det table.
Pleae any one help me
Thanks
SrinivasYes, the ROWNUM is never predictive. You won't know which row will be returned if you have multiple rows against a key.
But according to your table structure, If you are getting multiple values, it means your membership table has primary key composed of (activist_id,g_n_id). And every g_n_id has a state associated with it.
If an activitst_id has more than one g_n_id (which means more than one states) then which state of that you want to use for update?
Either you'll have to have only one g_n_id for each activist_id, or you'll have to decide which state you want to use for update and change your update statement accordingly.
Looking at your table structure, if the first column of each table would be a primary key then you will not get multiple values returned by the subquery.
activist(activist_id,first_name,last_name,c_state),
membership(activist_id,g_n_id),
group_network(g_n_id,g_n_type_id),
school_grop_det(g_n_id,state) -

This could be simple SQL but I am just so new to ORACLE SQL so posting it for your help. I need to fix a query
select
Edited by: Lucy Discover on Mar 11, 2011 2:09 PMYou didn't match the subquery to the current row of your query. I guess that you don't need the table sheet in the subquery.
So maybe this would work:
select
ID,
SC_NAME,
WEEK_ENDING,
PIN,
(select (t.pin||' '||o.description)
from PROJECT o
where t.pin = o.pin) as id,
MON,
TUE,
WED,
THU,
FRI,
nvl(TOTAL,0) TOTAL,
AD_ID,
NAME,
SAT,
SUN,
APPROVAL
from SHEET t
WHERE UPPER(AD_ID) = UPPER('USER') -

I want to show Expense_id with retruning rows using the above query.
ex)The result of the query is like that;
Expense_ Id project_id Ldate InvAmount RecogAmount MatAmount

How to display a 1 to many query result in a single row?
Hi,
I want to display a 1 to many relationship in a query in just one row. The current result is that I get more than 1 rows. How can I display it in one column with the additional attribute in a column, without repeating? Thank you.
Select s.student, t.teacher from student_table s, teacher_table t where s.id = t.student_id
Result
Student Teacher
John Doe Larry Woe
John Doe Mary Moe
I would rather get a result like this:
Result
Student Teacher 1 Teacher 2
John Doe Larry Woe Mary Woe
Edited by: Samantha on May 18, 2011 2:48 PMHi,
Will all Students have exactly two Teachers?
If not picture your sample with two more Students.
One having 1 Teacher
One having N Teachers
Think about N, what will it be? - How would you create a table with N columns?
If you can't easily answer above, re-consider what you are trying.
That said, it could still be done - even if all Students do not have exactly two Teachers - and is called Pivot a dynamic number of columns.
Examples are in FAQ
SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
Still a bad idea, with or without known number of teachers

Trouble with the SQL smt to :list tables having more than 1000 rows
Please I trying to list only tables having more than 1000 rows, but the sql stmt below doesn't work, can someone gives me a tips
select table_name from user_tables where table_name in ( select table_name from user_tables where rownum > 1000 ) : The result is no rows!
But I know that I have at lest 50 tables having more than 1000 rows
Thanks a lot for the helpIf your tables are reasonably analyzed, then you can simply query:
SELECT table_name,
num_rows
FROM user_tables
WHERE num_rows >= 1000This will give you quite a reasonable estimate.
Otherwise you have to go for dynamic sql or use the data dictionary to help you generate suitable scripts .... -

What does "sucessful" mean in this case? Does is mean producing the right results? What are the right results? How can you tell them apart from the wrong results?
As the errror message says, the (immediate) problem is that a single-row sub-query is returning more than a single row. If the sub-query tries to bring back more than 1 row, which one do you want to use? Or do you want to use some kind of aggregate, such as the average, which might not be the same as any of them?
Whenever you have a problem, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Simplify the problem as much as possible. For example, remove all columns and tables that have nothing to do with the part you don't know how to do.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

Ldap search query takes more than 10 seconds
LDAP query takes more than 10 seconds to execute.
For validating the policy configured, the Acess Manager(Sun Java System Access Manager) contacts the LDAP (Sun Java System Directory Server 6.2) to get the users in a dynamic group. The time out value configured in Access Manager for LDAP searches is 10 seconds.
Issue : The ldap query takes more than 10 seconds to execute at some times .
The query is executing with less than 10 seconds in most of the cases, but it takes more than 10 seconds in some cases. The total number of users available in the ldap is less than 1500.
7 etime =1
6 etime =1
102 etime=4
51 etime=5
26 etime=6
5 etime=7
4 etime=8
From the ldap access logs we can see the following entry, some times the query takes more than 10 seconds,
[28/May/2012:14:21:26 +0200] conn=281 op=41433 msgId=853995 - SRCH base="dc=****,dc=****,dc=com" scope=2 filter="(&(&(***=true)(**=true))(objectClass=vfperson))" attrs=ALL
[28/May/2012:14:21:36 +0200] conn=281 op=41434 msgId=854001 - ABANDON targetop=41433 msgid=853995 nentries=884 etime=10
The query was aborted by the access manger after 10 seconds.
Please post your suggestions to resolve this issue .
1.How we can find out , why the query is taking more than 10 seconds ?
2.Next steps to resolve this issue .Hi Marco,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Sorry for replying late. I was out of office for few weeks.
1) Have you already tuned the caches? (entry cache, db cache, filesystem cache?)
We are using db cache and we have not done any turning for cache. The application was working fine and there was no much changes in the number of users .
2) Unfortunately we don't have direct access to the environment and we have contacted the responsible team to verify the server health during the issue .
Regarding the IO operations we can see that, load balancer is pinging the ldap sever every 15 seconds to check the status of ldap servers which yields a new connection on every hit. (on average per minute 8 connections - )
3) We using cn=dsameuser to bind the directory server. Other configuration details for ldap
LDAP Connection Pool Minimum Size: 1
LDAP Connection Pool Maximum Size:10
Maximum Results Returned from Search: 1700
Search Timeout: 10
Is the Search Timeout value configured is proper ? ( We have less than 1500 user in the ldap server).
Also is there any impact if the value Maximum Results Returned from Search = set to 1700. ( The Sun document for AM says that the ideal value for this is 1000 and if its higher than this it will impact performance.
The application was running without time out issue for last 2 years and there was no much increase in the number of users in the system. ( at the max 200 users added to the system in last 2 years.)
Thanks,
Jay
