Query to know User access in OBIEE

Guys,
Is there any query in OBIEE which can give me the information about available users in OBIEE and which dashbaord these users have acess to see?

If you have configured usage tracking you will be able to see the users and the dashboards they access.

Fetch-Xml based report (to count User Access in the last 6 months ) for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online

Hi,
I have created a User Access report for CRM on-premise using SQl query in the following format. One row corresponds to one user in organization. Currently, I am using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online trial version and have two users in my organization.
I want to the same report for CRM Online environment. Only Fetch-Xml based custom reports are supported by CRM online environment hence this SQL query cannot be used.
I have already written fetch-xml query to retrieve user access records ("audit" entity records) in "last-x-months" (where x = 1,2,3,4,5,6) as below.
I am able to retrieve the records with "last-x-months" condition at a time, for example, the last-2-months in my fetch-xml query only.
For, example, when I retrieve the records in the last-2-months, it also includes the records in the last month. I want to count the records in the 2nd month only that is the difference between these two. The difference will be my 2nd column.
Similarly, I want the other columns.
For the case in the above example, I have created the two separate datasets to get the record-count for the last month and last-2-months. But, I am not able to use the two datasets in the same table in my report and hence not able to calculate the difference.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

I have modified my Fetch-XML query to retrieve all the required User Access records and removed aggregation and counting and grouping from the query as well. Did grouping and counting in SSRS. Now the report works fine as shown in the above picture.

User authentication when OBIEE is integrated with EBS

Hello guys
I have a conceptual question about how OBIEE authentication is performed in an integrated environment with EBS? If the goal is to have users access to OBIEE based on their roles given in EBS, what kind of authentication is it needed for such implementation?
Do I import users and group from EBS database or LDAP server (if its available)? what kind of session variable and ini block is created if I want to do data level secuirty based on user groups?
Please give some basic idea and guidelines on topic

2.ldap
3.from external database

If your BI Admin Cockpit is Working Fine and getting loaded to 0TCT_MC01 this cube, then goto RSRT and Run this Query
0TCT_MC01/ZQUERY_FRONT_END_OLAP
The Count shows the number of hit for those queries for that month.
Similarly there are queries for day wise also.

What I infer from your statements now, significantly different from your OP, is that you do not have any logging mechanism and now want to introduce logging with minimum effort.
If that is the case you can add the logging code in your Menu(s), before the CALL_FORM/NEW_FORM. Fewer object(s) to modify, but roughly the same lines of code get added.

Restricting Users access to BW Query based on Criteria

Haven't found much help with the security implementation documents , i have been given a objective to create Profiles/roles and which would be used only for reporting on 1 single Cube by users from multiple departments.
Create profile/Roles and provide access to users for Query ZREP_C0_1 .
User belonging to comp_code1 & region4 & plant6 should be able to view only his data and none other even if the user wishes to see Compcode2 & region3 & plant4.
( Reporting with restrictions over the User authorizations on Region/Compcode )
Creating the Role has been the easy as it was just to provide access to the infoarea , cubes, infobjects , query and authorization objects to execute query. However i am stuck on how to proceed further on the above scenario regarding restricting the users.
Your help is much appreciated .

If you are going to use client authentication in SSL and if client authentication fails since not all users will have client cert provided by you, SSL handshake will not complete and hence no access. But this is a performance impacting option. Restricting access on FW would be a good option.
During the flow of a normal SSL handshake, the server sends its certificate to the client. The client verifies the identity of the server through the certificate. However, the client does not send any identification of its own to the server. When you enable the client authentication feature on the ACE, the ACE requires that the client sends a certificate to the server. The server then verifies the following information on the certificate:
The CA has not revoked the certificate.The certificate signature is valid. The valid period of the certificate is still in effect. A recognized CA issued the certificate.
You can specify the certificate authentication group that the ACE uses during the SSL handshake and enable client authentication on this SSL proxy service by using the authgroup command in SSL proxy configuration mode. The ACE includes the certificates configured in the group with the certificate that you specified for the SSL proxy service

Other user can't access to OBIEE 11G installed on a server

We have installed OBIEE 11G on a server ( windows sever 2008 r2) with admin account, and it works fine, But others users can't access to obiee 11g ( administration icons are white in their sessions) even they have admin rights.
Can anyone tell me what should we do??

This is the exact format how my tnsnames.ora file looks. sorry, I can ping it in command prompt now. In my connection pool i tried first DSN = ab.bc.xy.zx, did not work. Then I saw oracle's default repository and changed my DSN to your suggested format starting from "DESCRPTION" to rest. Still no luck Do you think, i should put the same TNS in my local machine??

This is a complicated question. Because roles have privileges. And those privileges can be roles. So the level of nesting can get quite complex quite quickly.
So the best thing for you to do would be to check out Pete Finnegan's find_all_privs.sql script, which does the whole thing for you.

is it possible access to dashboard by using network users.insted of obiee users.i.ewhen you are login into presentation services it will ask user name and password. in this case it will not like that when we are log in to the sysytem by using user name and password.by using that user name and password it can directly access to the dashboard is it possible or not?means that by using network username and password can i able to login to the dashboard by cliking the presentation url.with out asking username and password again.

Yes, you can and if your presentation services are hosted on a windows server, thats lot more easy. While the presentation server is being promoted, you can have users get authenticated using LDAP/AD and that way, you need not go through typing username/pwd once again.
Configure SSO
Set IIS authentication to “Windows authentication”:
Open IIS Manager => Select Default website => Right-click => Properties => Directory Security tab => Authentication and access contol => Edit … => deselect “Enable anonymous access” => Select “Integrated Windows authentication” => Ok => Ok => Select All => Ok
Open the instanceconfig.xml file (located in OracleBIData\web\config). Set <SSO enabled = “true”>. Save and close file.
Restart your server and start your OBIEE services.. You are good to go now.

Hierarical Query to build user menu with access

Hi All,
I am facing problem in populating user menus in hirarical against user access control.
I have table of menus in which i populate data as:
Menu
- Sub Menu 1
-- Form 1
-- Form 2
-- Form 3
- Sub Menu 2
-- Form 4
-- Form 5
-- Form 6
Now I have created hierarical query as:
SELECT -1, LEVEL, menu_name, NULL, id
FROM menu_opt
START WITH parent_id IS NULL
CONNECT BY PRIOR menu_id = parent_id
and menu_id in
(3, 4);
Note: where menu_id 3 = Form 1, Menu_id 4 = Form 2.
If I allow only menu ID 3 and 4 (not parents menus) then Hieraricy should be completed from top to bottom. What change i have to made to achieve my target?

The Oracle BI Server supports the accumulation of usage tracking statistics that can be used in a variety of ways such as database optimization, aggregation strategies, or billing users or departments based on the resources they consume. The Oracle BI Server tracks usage at the detailed query level.
When you enable usage tracking, statistics for every query are inserted into a database table or are written to a usage tracking log file.

How do i filter on the report that is created by using DIRECT DATABASE ACCESS in obiee 10g?
I have reprot A with link to report B, report B is created using DIRECT DATABASE ACCESS. so it is just a table, but i need to filter out 2 columns.
here is the query in REPORT B:

I didnt tested using url, but the same works with using presentation variables.
To your direct sql add where clause for those two columns like WHERE col='@{col1}' and col ='@{col2}'
and try to run from url.
