Query: what happens if one forgets to include jbo:ReleasePageResources/

Hi,
I inherited a legacy BC4J application currently hosted on Oracle 9iAS (9.0.3.1). Reviewing the application code, I noticed at about half of the JSP's using JBO datatags did not have the <jbo:ReleasePageResources /> tag.
What would be the effect of this on the application as it gets used? Will the application run out of AM instances?
Does any JSP page using an application module have to have a ReleasePageResources? What if the JSP forwards to another JSP that has the ReleasePageResources? Is the second page's ReleasePageResource sufficient to release the AM?
Thanks and best regards
Rico

Hi,
Some additional information:
The application gets OnEventTag ClassCastExceptions every so often. Lately, we watched the application logs while having the users exercise it. We eventual got the error after a few hours use.

  • If I have two laptops connected to a single wireless hard drive, what happens when one laptop wants to go on a trip and the other one needs to stay home?

if I have two laptops connected to a single wireless hard drive (i.e. Time Capsule), what happens when one laptop wants to go on a trip and the other one needs to stay home?  I'm afraid I know the answer, but I'm hoping Apple has a great solution to my problem.

What if this little piggy goes to market but this little piggy stays home?
The computer on a trip will do snapshot backups on the hard drive that will then be incorporated into the Time Machine backup once you get it back home. See
OS X Lion- About Time Machine's "local snapshots" on portable Macs
Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press RETURN and enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots.

  • What happens if u forget the 4 digit security code?

it hasn't happened to me but what if one forgets the 4 digit code after sliding the unlock.....? does this make the itouch useless to someone that steals or finds your itouch?
...i rather like having a security code...this is why i am asking...

I believe that if someone gets it, and doesn't know the code, they can force a restore and bypass it.

  • HT5312 what happens if you forget your security questions

what happens if you dont know your security questions

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

What happen if I forgot the answer to my security question?

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665 :
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
If you can’t reset them via the above instructions (you won't be able to add a rescue email address until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account are to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

  • HT4113 what happens if you forget the password?

What happens and what can you do if you forgot your passcode? is there anything you can do?

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If that still doesn't work, as a last resort try DFU mode:

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • What happens if one tries to register an already registered IMEI?

I got my iPAD 2 stolen this week. I am wondering whether it is possible to someone to register my iPad IMEI after a factory reset.
Another question, iTunes and Find my iPhone apps will still link the iPAD as being my iPAD or will it be linked to the computer where the iPAD was connected first time and then to the person who registered it after a factory reset?
    Thanks,

I had a similar problem when I reinstalled VM manager without deleting the pool first.
What worked for me was to make a different server the utility server. I think the reason is that when you setup the utility server, it creates iso_pool, running_pool, seed_pool, etc. underneath /OVS. My utility server had that structure under /OVS, but my other servers had nothing. Just choosing a different server to be utility server could fix your issue.
Alternatively, you could try "rm -rf /OVS/*" but I'm not sure if that would work or not.
Anybody have a little more insight about what happens when create/delete a server pool?
This project needs better documentation... Thanks

  • Join process. what happens when one CV entry is deleted?

We have 2 CVs feeding one MV.
One CV (a HR system) creates the MV entry and provides most data.
The other CV (an email system) joins to the MV entry on matching name and flows the email address.
Now, what is Meta designed to do if the CV entry containing the email address (joined to the MV) is deleted from source?
In no circumstances should the MV entry be removed
unless the (HR system) CV entry is deleted.

    Hi.
Assuming you're serializing your object graph using ObjectOutputStream, the object that is referred to multiple times will only be serialized once. When deserialized (using ObjectInputStream) that object will only be deserialized once and all appropriate references will be to that object. This seems sensible.
Take a look at http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/serialization/faq/#handle for an interesting side effect of this - the rest of the faq is interesting too.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS2446 what happens if i forget my security questions?

I was recently trying to buy songs and they asked for me to answer my security questions and i cant seem to rememeber what i put. what do i do?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • What happens if I forget my passcode?

I can't remember my passode for my phone. I know everyone is saying to restore it, but I really do not want too. Is there any other way?

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
A Complete Guide to Recover Your iDevice if You Forget Your Passcode
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
