On trying the same with MYSQL as database it workes fine. I am a bit confused here as for every database same set of steps should work.
Could you please give me pointers to troubleshoot the problem.
Thanks in anticipation:)

Hi Nitin,
Check with the driver information for MSSQL you are providing while fetching the data from DB.
This might help you,

How to connect and query the sql database in mobile application
Hello,
Can any one say how to connect the sql database from the j2me application.
I have got some info that only through servlet or jsp only we can connect the database and from their we should get the info or query in mobile application.
Is it true? and can i have any sample codes or white paper or guildlines.
It would be more useful form my project.
Thanks in advance.

saraHi David,
According to your description, when you add Windows Azure Mobile Services to a Window Phone 8 app, then store app data in the new mobile service. I recommend you post the related question on the Windows Azure Mobile Services Forums at
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=azuremobile .It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
In addition, there are the details about creating a Windows Phone app connected to your mobile service.

Generate query at a time & connect two database ?
Hi
Could u help me? it is necessary that
I have two database ( RSHPL,RSPL) and both data base have same table name and same fieldname (Table Name :-OITM, Fieldname :ONHAND ,pk- ITEMcode,)
At first I tell u what I want?
I want to generate query at a time & connect two database and same table name(OITM) to select the TOTAL VALUE of this field(ONHAND) and pk-key is Itemcode.
Is it Possible? If Possible plz write this query and send me.Hi,
I don't think its possible to write a query from within SAP that allows you to get data from another SAP database.
I have used SQL Reporting Services to report on data from multiple databases, and this works very well for many of my clients. It depends on what you want to do with the data, do you need to display it on the screen in SAP and it to a field or will a report suffice?

Query all applications that are connected to database in the current time
Dears,
I need to query all applications that are connected to database in the current time. I tried using v$session but i could not reach through it to the application that are logged now to database.
As example, i connect to DB through Web Application and tried to search in v$session to can see Web Application session but i did not see it :(
From searching in google, found that there is a package named "DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO". I expected that it can help me in my request but i could not use it.
Please, advise me. Is this package help cover my requirements or there is another method ?
Thanks & Best regards,sybrand_b,
I think that i appreciated you once you replied me and what i wanted exactly from you "Provide me Link help me more for investigation" and you did not provide something.

than query in oracle database.
I am mentioning in detail what are my settings and what have I done
step by step.........
1.This is the table I created in Oracle datababase
(Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0)...
CREATE TABLE student (
id NUMBER(9) primary keY ,
first_name VARCHAR2(10),
last_name VARCHAR2(10)
2.THIS IS THE ANONYMOUS BLOCK I USE TO
POPULATE THE STUDENT TABLE(TOTAL 2599999 ROWS)...
declare
firstname varchar2(12);
lastname varchar2(12);
catt number(9);
begin
for cntr in 1..2599999 loop
firstname:=(cntr+8)||'f';
lastname:=(cntr+2)||'l';
if cntr like '%9999' then
dbms_output.put_line(cntr);
end if;
insert into student values(cntr,firstname, lastname);
end loop;
end;

I SET THE TIMING..
command>TIMING 1;
consider this query now..

1 row found.
Execution time (SQLExecute + Fetch Loop) = 0.585897 seconds.
Command>
7.NOW I PERFORM THE SIMILAR QUERIES FROM SQLPLUS...
SQL> SELECT * FROM STUDENT WHERE FIRST_NAME='1498671f';

How to set fetchsize of sql Query when using Database Adapter.
Hi All,
I am using DatabaseAdapter to connect to database and retriving huge amount of data.For improvement in the performance I want to set the "fetchsize" of sql query. I know fetchsize can be preset in Java using Jdbc 2.0 API.Please let me know how to set this value in BPEL when using DBAdapter?
Thanks
ChandraI talked to the developer of the db adapter - and he told me this feature will be available in BPEL PM 10.1.3 (which is supposed to be production later this year, and a public beta soon). If this is an emergency I would recommend going throug Oracle support and have them file an enhancement for 10.1.2.0.2

Hi
I have a problem in connecting to database from webdynpro application
I am using oracle 10 express edition as database and was able to connect to database from a java application.But was unable to connect from a webdynpro for java.
<b>I guess webdynpro for java uses open sql instead of vendor sql(I looked in the visual admin ,DB is using open sql) so unable to connect to database.Am i right.?</b>
Do i need to make any settings in the visual admin to make it work?
How to solve this problem.Please give me pointers
Thanks
BalaHi,
For connecting to Oracle, either you can use the normal JDBC connectivty code directly which is given below :
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");
In case you want to fetch data through ejbs, these are the steps to be followed :
1) Open the J2EE perspective
2) Create an EJB Module project
3) Right click on ejbModule, create a new EJB (select your EJB type)
4) While creating the ejb itself, you can add business methods by clicking Next in the UI. Another option is after creating the ejb, write the method in the bean, then select the method from ejb-jar.xml -> <bean name> ->method. Right click and select propogate to local & remote.
5) Double click on ejb-j2ee-engine.xml. select your bean and specify a Jndi name for eg: MyJndi.
6) Right click on the EJB project and add classes12.zip file (provided by Oracle) to its build path. (under libraries tab). Also check the same file under Order & Export.
7) Create an Enterprise Application project.
8) Right click on the EJB module project and select add to EAR project, then select the created EAR project.
9) Right click on the EJB project, select Build EJB Archive
10) Right click on the EAR project, select Build Application Archive
11) Open the WebDynpro perspective, open a new project, right click on the project ->properties. Do the following configurations :-
Java Build path - select the EJB project from projects , check the selected project under Order & Export
Project references select the EAR project
WebDynpro references select sharing references tab, click add & make an entry as : <vendor>/<EAR project name without .ear extension>
You can find the vendor name under application-j2ee-engine.xml file of the EAR project. By default it is sap.com. So if my EAR projects name is ABC, my entry would look like sap.com/ABC
12) Now the configurations are over and the EJB can be invoked by writing the client code inside the webdynpro component. Like:
InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
Object obj = context.lookup("MyJndi");
MyEJBHome home = MyEJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj,MyEJBHome.class);
MyEJB mybean = home.create();
int a = 0;
a= mybean.add(10,15);
wdContext.currentContextElement().setSum(a);
where MyEJB is my EJB name and MyJndi is my JNDI name
To connect to Oracle , you can write the usual Java code (given below) as a business methos of the ejb (similar to add() method in the example). And access it like mybean.<businessMethodName>().
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");

Variable database name in SQL Server query using Oracle database link
Hi All,
I have an ApEx 4.1 app running on 11g x64 (11.2.0.1) on Windows Server 2008 x64, and I have some data integration points with a SQL Server (2005 and 2008) that I need to establish. I have configured the database link with dg4odbc and it works beautifully... I can execute queries against the SQL Server database without any problems using the database link.
However, there is a scenario where the SQL Server database name is dynamic, and I need to generate it on the fly in a PL/SQL block, and then use that in a dynamic SQL query (all of this in ApEx). This is where I run into problems... when I am querying the default database based on the ODBC connection and I don't have to specify the database name, there is no issue. But when I need to access one of several other non-default databases, I keep receiving the "invalid table" error.
This runs fine:* (note that "fv" is the name of my database link)
v_query1 := 'select "ReleaseDate" from dbo.Schedules@fv where dbo.Schedules."SchedID" = :schedule';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query1 into rel_date using schedule;
I then take that rel_date variable, convert to a varchar2 (rel_date_char), and then use it as the database name in the next query...
This returns an error_ (Error ORA-00903: invalid table name)
v_query2 := 'select "PARTNO" from :rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where "SchedID" = :schedule and "UnitID" = :unit
and "MasterKey" = :master and "ParentKey" = :parent';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query2 into part_number using schedule, unit, master, parent;
I have also tried using all of the following to no avail:
'select "PARTNO" from ' || :rel_date_char || '.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where "SchedID"...
'select "PARTNO" from ' || rel_date_char || '.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where "SchedID"...
'select "PARTNO" from ' || @rel_date_char || '.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where "SchedID"...
'select "PARTNO" from @rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where "SchedID"...
Is there a way to do this in PL/SQL?
Thanks for any help!

So all 3 ways work for me.

Now using variables to perform the select:
SQL> declare
2 val varchar2(100);
3 c integer;
4 nr integer;
5 tabname varchar2(20) :='EMP';
6 ownr varchar2(20) :='dbo';

10 dbms_hs_passthrough.parse@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, 'SELECT count(*) FROM '||dbname||'.'|| ownr || '.'||tabname||'');
11 LOOP
12 nr:= DBMS_Hs_Passthrough.fetch_row@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3(c);
13 exit when nr=0;
14 dbms_hs_passthrough.get_value@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3(c,1,val);
15 dbms_output.put_line(val);
16 end loop;
17 dbms_hs_passthrough.close_cursor@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3(c);
18 end;
19 /
24576
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
=> instead of executing the statement using "execute Immediate" we have to use PASTHROUGH package to pass the statement to the SQL Server.

XSQL - unable to connect to database
I have installed the XSQL Servlet. I am trying to access an Oracle 8i database on a WinNT server (the client is on a WinNT workstation) using XSQL pages.
The lines in the XSQLConfig.xml file are as follows:
<connection name="testdb">
<username>scott</username>
<password>tiger</password>
<dburl>jdbc:oracle:thin:@bert:1521:ORCL</dburl>
<driver>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</driver>
where bert is the WinNT server that Oracle 8i is running on.
My XSQL page is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsql:query connection="testdb" xmlns:xsql="urn:testdb">
SELECT *
FROM emp
</xsql:query>
The error message I receive is
XSQL-007: Cannot acquire a database connection to process page.
Io exception: Connection refused(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=135286784)(ERR=12505)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12505)(EMFI=4))))
What is the problem here?
Also, is there a document giving more detail on XSQL-007?
Thanks,

Executing SQL query in portal database
Hi ,
I wish to do a simple POC . I need to create a table from NWDS , populate it with some data and then access the table data using an sql query . I am aware how to create a table but I am not sure where exactly to write the query .
What I would like to understand is
1) If I create a table where would that table get created (The database) ?
2) Where would I write that query in NWDS ?
3) How would I execute that query in that database ?
Please help for the same .
(Needless to say that I always award points )

Ora-12154 when trying to connect to database from fortran application
I am trying to connect to database and run an simple select query to a table(without any where clause) using pro*fortran code.
the connect strng is like
exec sql connect :uidpwd
where uidpwd = username/password@SID
SID and tnsnames connect string are the same.
The fortran (profortran) code is placed in the database server and there are no errors when make is run.
Tnsping is working fine, also i am able to conect using sql*plus and run the same query.
Please help
Thanks and Regards
NitinHi Nitin
Thanks for the helpful! With your point I'm now Pro! Great thanks.
By the way have your seen that?
Files such as LISTENER.ORA, TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA, if configured manually, or copied and edited from earlier releases of Oracle Database may have record attributes that are incompatible with Oracle Database 10g release 2. The software cannot read such files. The required record format is stream_lf and the record attributes are carriage_control and carriage_return.
This may result in:
Inability to start the listener
Services not registered with the listener
Inability to connect to other databases
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
Run the following command on each file affected:
$ DIR/FULL filename
An output similar to the following may be displayed:
Record format: Variable length, maximum 255 bytes
Record attributes: Carriage return carriage control
If the output includes the preceding entries, then run the following command:
$ CONVERT/FDL=SYS$INPUT filename filename
RECORD
CARRIAGE_CONTROL CARRIAGE_RETURN
FORMAT STREAM_LF
^Z
Otherwise herewith an interesting metalink note. Doc ID: Note:437597.1

Hope this will also help you...

OSB 10.3 connectivity to Database: Recommended approach?
Hi
OSB 10.3 doesnt yet provide JCA adapter framework to connect to database. In Oracle integration world, this is one of the foundational requirement. We understand that we can write and call a BPEL wrapper and fetch data using SOA suite DB adapter. However this would mean calling the web service over SOAP with lot of overhead.
Could anyone suggest what are the workable and acceptable workaround which could be practically useful in high load/volume scenario.
Thanks
JaydeepHi Chris,
Thanks a lot for your prompt response.
Considering the alternatives available, I am trying to use BPEL transport but I am getting some error. Would appreciate your assistance in resolving this.
The BPEL process endpoint URI is
[default/DBRead/1.0|http://localhost:7777/*orabpel*/default/DBRead/1.0]
I am creating the business service using "bpel-10g" as the protocol (synchronous client). For endpoint URI, I am trying with the following:
opmn://localhost:6003/*oc4j_soa*/default/DBRead/1.0
where: oc4j_soa = soa home name; default = domain name;
Could you kindly indicate what am I doing wrong here? On testing through test console I get the following exception. Do I need to do any further setup to use BPEL transport with OSB?
The invocation resulted in an error: The Oracle BPEL delivery service could not be accessed: java.lang.Exception: Failed to create "ejb/collaxa/system/DomainManagerBean" bean; exception reported is: "javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: javax.naming.AuthenticationException: Not authorized; nested exception is:

I had another unrelated query if I may ask. BPEL/OESB services can be directly invoked through web browser using the endpoint URI. However, this doesnt work for OSB. How do we invoke OSB services? (In BPEL PM, if we create a partner link using the wsdl, we can invoke the OSB service). Are the OSB services not exposed as web service? What/why is this difference? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks again for your kind assistance

How to connect access database through oracle sql prompt
i want to connect access database via oracle , i am trying to import all the data in Access table into oracle table how it is possible .
A.RThe simplest way, if You have already created tables in Oracle DB, is to open the Access MDB, link Oracle tables via ODBC and build a query to append rows reading from Access tables to Oracle tables.
Hope this helps
