Querystring, cookies and saving quiz data

1 - Is captivate capable of using querystring and/or cookie data inside of the presentation. For example: can we pass in a userid and/or user’s first name into a presentation and have that data used in the presentation.
2 - Will the technology saves quiz result in a file?
3 - Can we associate that querystring data with the quiz data in that file?

save it how? so that the user can always obtain it? or for your own records? The solution lies in how you need to retain that information. If it were a quiz of say 5 questions, you can save their answer as cookies. In html5 if its a form youre devising, their answers can be stored via auto-complete. If you need those values on your server, then just post them to a server side script.

When I open Preferences/Privacy and select "Details" under "Cookies and other website data" the first entry which pops up is
97] plug-ins
If I highlight this entry and click remove, It is removed for perhaps 10 seconds, and then re-appears in the list.
1- What is this?
2- How do I get rid of it?
This is clearly a prvacy issue, or Apple would not be listing it in this listing with the associated warning.

Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. Select File > Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the old bookmarks file.
Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.

I kept the Bookmarks.plist, but then deleted the assortment of safari related Caches and Cookies

(I found several entries in Cache, but forgot to write down which ones I deleted ... sorry.)
did not delete any of the preferences or the last two entries in your list above.
Tried again and "the perp" was still there. "Remove all" on the Details tab did not change things...
However, there were now only 2 entries -- the 97] AND my bank's entry (Chase)!
Going back to the main privacy tab and clicking "Remove all Website Data" this time DID remove the last two entries.

Now when I open the details tab, (I run my own webserver as my home page) Safari showed ONLY the cache entry for my server, no cookies.
However, I then noticed something quite intersting.
I left the details tab open and pulled to the side (the joy of having a 27 inch iMac) and naviaged to Apple.com
and then to support and then logged in to here.
As I was doing this. the Details window first showed, "Apple.com" .. Cache, Cookies, Local Storage
but then virtually immediately poped up entries:
doubleclick.net ... Cache
edgekey.net ... Cache
google.com ... Cookies
Very interesting, both from the point of view that "details" was showing me what was happening in "real time."
And the fact that, even with zero external ads, the web site, Apple.com, was inserting entries in the cache for doubleclick.net and edgekey.net. I can "almost" understand the "google.com" cookie, ecept for the fact that the search engine selected in the tool bar is "bing."... as I said "interesting."
With this new "insight" on the Details screen, It may be possible to determine WHERE this 97] actually came from. However, I would still like an explanation of what it actually is.... since the "]" (right square bracket) character is evidently a "special character" for search engines -- google, Yaho and Bing all treat it the same way -- they ignor it.... even when the entire 3 character string is quoted -- "97]" -- the pages returned all are for entries with only 97 in them.

Why doesn't the "block cookies and other website data" setting on Safari 7.0.2 work? Everytime I try this setting, I still get cookies and other data that needs to be deleted from my computer.

This has been the case for sometime.
There is no effective way to block these cookies.
Try this, may help.
Safari > Preferences > Security > Cookies and other website data:
Press "Remove All Other Website Data:'
Do this twice.
Select "Reset Safari" from Safari drop down menu.
Select only "Reset all website data".
Click "Reset".

ITunes 9 - Home Sharing Settings and Saved Game Data?

The new "Home Sharing Settings" feature to automatically transfer applications from one home computer to another is great. However, it seems like there is a huge omission with this feature if you can't transfer your game settings and saved data when you use this option as a way to change computers to sync an iTouch or iPhone.
Here's my scenario: originally had iTunes on a Windows PC to purchase and sync up my iTouch. Recently bought another iMac and want to use it as my "master" computer to sync up my iTouch. Used the Home Sharing Settings feature to quickly copy all of my songs (with ratings) and apps from the PC to the Mac. Everything great so far.
Purchased a few more apps in the iTunes store on the iMac. Plugged in the iTouch to copy the new apps, but of course it wants to delete everything and start over (to be expected I guess). But with that I assume all of my saved game data in my 50+ apps will be lost!
Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I've now authorized my laptop with my fiance's itunes account and my personal iTunes account, this is key.
I'm now able to transfer songs from either her laptop or my iMac (where my music is stored for now) as long as the current logged-in Home Sharing account is active. So it's basically like logging into an ftp server, only one connection allowed at a time.
So just turn off Home Sharing and then turn it back on again, re-enter the other systems iTunes account info and there you go, you can transfer from that one now. Of course this would be simpler if you were just merging two computers/accounts instead of adding in a 3rd laptop like my experiment. You should just have to make sure all computers involved (up to 5) are authorized for all the iTunes accounts involved.
And yes using the settings button with in the home sharing window, you should be able to automatically sync any new purchases from the current shared account, music, movies, apps, etc.

Preferences Privacy Cookies and other website data

I'm having a problem. The number of "websites stored cookies or other data" keeps jumping around! First it shows 116, then jumps to 24, then jumps to 116, 117, then 15, then back to 24 again. Other numbers have been shown in a cycle, too. When I click on "details" the lists jumps around too. First listing many sites, then a few, then many again and so on. This is continuous. I tried "Remove All Website Data", but no luck. Any ideas? I've never had this problem before.

This seems to be caused by having pages making frequent updates to their cookies or local storage. You can tell the domain of the pages that are doing so by opening the Library/Safari/Local Storage folder in your home folder in Finder and sorting by date modified. In my case, both Facebook and Twitter pages were updating quite often. Once I closed them, the number settled down -- it continued to move up and down fairly frequently (presumably because some open pages were still adding/deleting cookies or local storage), but never reset or showed a much lower number.

I'm trying out Adobe Captivate 7 and would like to know if there's anyway for me to retrieve quiz data and display it maybe in one my company's system, such as Microsoft CRM or Sharepoint? Is there any additional settings or integration for this? So far, I've tested it to display in Acrobat by login to my own account. How if I want it to store in CRM or Sharepoint? If there's any video or guides showing on this method, it would be perfect.

2-way binding and saving form data

Dear All,
I created a form by dragging the VO in jsp page. Then i updated the value attribute of controls by expression like *value="#{backingBeanScope.generate_backing.body}"* because i want the control to be populated with the inital value when page is loaded.
so when i click the Submit button the value is not getting inserted in database. This is because i have updated the value attribute of all fields ??. Is there any other way to do this ?
Please tell me whether i will have to write some code for setting the attributes of EntityImpl on btn click and then commit ? If yes then pls give me some hints or code for accessing the EntityImpl object...
Or the other way for accomplishing this task...

I want to create a form with default values in it. But the values comes from querystring so i am using backing bean to set it in value attribute.

You actually point it to a managed bean, so the managed bean needs to be updated with the new data. If your intention is to provide a default value then this approach is not correct. Instead you provide the default value on the ViewObject attributehow can i access the backingbean in VO and set the default value for attribute ??

Posting and saving form data

Before I dive into my first Java project, I would like some advice. I would like to set up a JTabbedPane with two tabs (not a problem). In panel 1, I will have a series of JTextFields for the user to input data (also, not a problem). Then have a button named "Post". The action performed would be to record the user data on a form in panel 2. I also would like to be able to save that historic data to file. In general, what would be the best method to achieve this?? Thanks in advance!!

Depending on whether you need hierachical data or non-hierachial data. XML is best for hierachial data and a property set is best for non-hierachial data.

In Safari menu, under preferences, under privacy, in the window appears the statement: cookies and other website data. A multitude of names appear in the info window, some with extensions, some without, some in cache, some in storage. I don't want 'em.

I don't want all those cookies being stored either in cache or storage, as reported in Safari menu under Preferences, under Privacy. I tell the system to delete them and they come right back. I want to know how to keep those things from peeking in on my traffic. Thank you.

Sorry if this comes to late, I just now came across this thread. I have rtorrent and rutorrent sunning successfully on my x64 Arch Linux install.
Try putting the "SCGIMount /RPC2 127.0.0.1:5000" line in your httpd.conf file right after the LoadModule lines (it's line 124 for me).
I seem to recall it not working when I put it at the end of the file.

Fron your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now empty the cache.
Back to the menu bar, go to Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
That will delete temporary internet files as well.

That is the nature of today's data-hungry internet. Sites you visit often partner with sites you don't visit for sharing info on its vistitors. You end up with cookies from the other sites.
This may help: Open Safari Preferences and click the "Privacy" tab. Under the section "Block cookies and other website data," check the button labeled "From third parties and advertisers." Restart Safari.

I want to empty the Safari cache in OS 10.8.5, but cannot find the cache in the drop down menus. Where is it? Or do I go to preferences-privacy and select remove all cookies and website data?

I received a 'bogus' email saying I had a virus and to click to scan my entire OS. I did not click - I trashed the email.
I wanted to empty my cache but couldn't find it (OS 8.10.8.5) -- In the main menu, under Safari, the only thing I found was to select preferences, then privacy -- where a window showed an option of removing some or all cookies and other website data.
Is that what I should do or is there a cache somewhere on the laptop?

You were scammed. There's nothing wrong with your computer. You don't need to empty the cache.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.

Quit Safari

Saving array data from a waveform chart

I am using a CRIO 9004 and a 9237 bridge module to measure some strains from strain gauges. I've got one timed loop that reads the DMA FIFO and puts the arrays of values (16 data points, 4 per channel) into a queue. In the consumer timed loop a For loop scales the binary data, auto indexes it into arrays, then the arrays are merged into a 2D array for the four channels displayed on a waveform chart . Everytime the consumer loop runs it indexes 4 data points (per channel) yet the waveform chart plots them in a consecutive manner and doesn't overwrite the previous four. If I convert the arrays to waveform arrays I don't see anything on the waveform chart.
If I pass the 2D array of data to a array indicator inside or outside the consumer loop I get only 16 data points. I want to save the information that appears on the waveform chart after the consumer loop but because I'm not using waveform data type I can't use the write waveforms to file vi. The waveform chart history buffer has been set to 195360.
Idealy we will run the four channels for 120 seconds charting the data and saving the data. The minimum data rate is 1613kS/s (403 per channel) The data can be saved after the loops have finished gathering and processing or while they are running. I noticed when I tried to write to TDMS it slowed the consumer down. Same thing if I use a shift register with the volume of data.
I suspect I'm not sending data to the chart in the correct manner ( usualy takes two attempts to "clear chart" using shortcut menu). I'm not too familiar with timed loops /producer consumer loops and just tried to put something together based on examples.

Form created with LiveCycle is not saving the data of a fillable form.

I had posted this in another forum, which got moved over to this forum. Forgive the double post, I wasn't sure if it was assumed that it was resolved.
This document: http://www.southark.edu/employment/application-v5.pdf was created a couple of years ago in Acrobat and LiveCycle.
I wanted visitors to have the ability to fill in the document and save their data.
So, I opened it in Adobe Acrobat X and saved it using the Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
However, after filling in the document and saving, no data is saved.
I was informed that since it was an XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer, that they have special considerations that don't apply to forms created in Acrobat.
Still needing help in giving my visitors the ability to save their form data.

Employing your solution our website visitors can save the data using Acrobat Pro.
They cannot save their data using Reader (most of them don't have Acrobat Pro). See image below.
