Quest for a good music phone

Hi there!
I have been a loyal user (and fan) of Nokia Symbian phones. currently i have two which is the Nokia X2 and the Nokia E5.
I use my X2 as a sort of back-up phone just in case my main phone (the E5) has started to bog down or my secondary phone (and Android phone) has stopped working, lost battery or if i sold it.
Now, i always thought the X-series have been very good when it comes to sound and audio. but what i'm looking for is a normal candybar or QWERTY phone that i can use as a backup phone to listen to my MP3 files - one that has similar EQ & audio boost (and stereo widening) features of some of the Symbian phones out there.
Any suggestions guys?

Hi gino_76ph,
You can compare different Nokia phone models and their features on Nokia developer website. Just follow the link below:
http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/?filter1=all
Audio player features can be found under multimedia section, with differences highlighted.
Hope this helps,
Puigchild

  • Looking for a good music phone

i am selling my Samsung Galaxy S as i am very disappointed with its poor battery life and various bugs that came along with it. even with Froyo 2.2 the only thing that would save its day would be an excellent battery life, a fully-optimised software with Google Android and a good network signal which in my case i don't have.  what i do want is is a phone that has a fairly good music player:
    1. stereo sound (surround or otherwise)
    2. ability to edit/make a playlist on-the-fly
    3. add songs to the playlist on-the-fly
    4. customisable and preset EQ settings
    5. must have an FM radio
    6. preferably a touchscreen (or anything!)
Plus the usual "basic" apps like Twitter, Facebook, some dictionary or Wiki app, a weather app, London Tube app and not those fancy apps like Layar, etc.
the phones that springs to mind are the Nokia's, Sony Ericsson Walkman phones and Samsung with their patended 3.0 DnSE sound thingy.
max budget is a modest £150 to £200*.....
    any sugestions guys...?
*even slightly beyond my budget range
    thanks.

  • Looking for a good music player app

    Hi.
I have a problem. i'm looking for a good music player app for my new iphone (which i will buy my next month) in terms of playing music. after having 3 phones in the last 9 months i'm still unhappy.
Had a Samsung Galaxy Ace. sound was above average but due to underpowered processor + RAM (and Samsung stating they won't update the software anymore) i had to sell it.
Than had a Sony Ericcson Xperia Neo but felt the sound was "flat" and bland" and left me disappointed and uninspired coming from a well-known phone maker know for its audio & visual expertise.
Now, i currently have the HTC Desire S. umm although the sound was "Ok" with its usual pre-set equalizers (common among Android phones) and SRS sound enhancement it felt me wanting more and although i have the phone for a week now i would say "so far-so good."
but i heard the best music phones out there are those with either Beats Audio (which are very brand new) or the ones with Dolby Mobile.
had an iPod touch (4th-gen) and i was amazed and impressed by the sound quality.
so, if i can get away with a good music player app that recreates surround sound, has good preset EQ's along with customisable ones and one with Dolby-like support which app would you recommend?
    Thank you.

  • Looking for a good music player application........

    Hey everyone,
I am still looking for a great music player app for the Bionic and wonder if anyone could provide some good suggestions. The apps I have tried have all had something wrong with it
    1) The bionic stock app is ok, but  the lock screen widget is very small and a pain when driving and have to be precise when hitting the skip button, otherwise, it dissapears
    2) Google music app doesnt have a lock screen widget, wth?
    3) Power Amp is probably my favorite, but has 2 big bugs...ill be listening to music thru my ear buds and when i get any sort of notification, the music goes thru the phone speaker, and i listen to my music very loud. Also, when listening to music and having navigation going at the same time, the music still plays when the navigation voice kicks in, on other apps, the music stops
    4) MixZing doesnt have an option that allows you to go to the home screen from the lock widget, it only allows you to go the device lock screen making you have to unlock the phone twice
As you can tell, the lock widget is a big deal since I listen to music in my car often while having the navigation going. Any suggestions? I may just trash this phone with the data issues and drop another 300 for the Rezound since the reviews have been good (so far) but until then, was wondering if there is an all out good music app out there.
    Thanks everyone!

  • The quest for a good multi-source video workflow

I frequently have to mix together several sources, and the Multi-Camera Source Sequence in Premiere Pro should in theory be the best way to go.
However, it's seriously underdeveloped and for a single camera with separate audio, I end up doing a sequence instead.
Mix and scrub audio in Audition, tag and comment source video in Prelude, import both to Premiere Pro and put them together on a sequence so I can use that sewuence as a source for other sequences.
Why don't I use a multi-camera sequence? Because you have to tag syncronization points before you put everything together, because audio and video is often recorded out of sync, with several video recordings per audio recording etcetera. It ends up a mess. We don't live in an ideal world, and not wanting to waste time (and make the talent lose focus) organizing things, recording happens pretty much on the fly with all that includes in differing methods, ideals and so on. We need to know how to cut resources (and this includes not using the most exåensive editing tools) but there's always room for improvements.
I like to slap everything loosely together post-production and fine-sync on audio waves on the run, but this means you can adjust the multi-camera source sequence after you have put it together.
This isn't possible in Premiere Pro, at least not without putting it into a sequrnce first and that's the next step you want to do after all the syncronizing is done, not something you want to while cutting up the sources in a sequence.
I believe most of what I need for this is already programmed but it's mostly a matter of politics. Just please understand, synchronizing and preparing sources is different from working with a sequence, but it can be a substantial piece of work on it's own and it's not enough to just put it together in a menu and think that's all fine. (And not by far at that.)
What I need is to be able to edit a multi-camera source sewuence on a timeline like I would edit any other sequence. And call it a multi-source sequence, it isn't just video.
Then audio from different sources can be mixed together on the timeline like you do in a sequence, expoerted to audition as a multi-track session for more advanced audio processing (and no, single tracks aren't enough, I often need the real-time effects in audition not just the processing of whole tracks. And I mix together several audio sources, both mono and stereo tracks some from cameras but mostly from a separate, 24-bit audio recorder with inputs from hand or tie mics, environment and perhaps a gun with a boom. (I'm the audio guy with perhaps a camera on the side, others handle the main camera(s).
And video from several cameras can be put together, one track per camera on a timeline and not just one clip per track, one camera can have several clips taken on a timeline.
Then, when all this is put together it can be used as a source, like we use a multi-camera sequence today.
I believe it's possible, and would increase the value of your offers. If this isn't done, I may end up looking for other software.

  • Quest for a good Terminal app

    Hi
I've recently switched to using Openbox on Arch, and I've searched far and wide and haven't been able to find a terminal app that follows these requirements:
    (1) does not import half of gnome or KDE
    (2) capable of using true transparency
    (3) handles copy/paste sensibly
The closest I can find is urxvt (rxvt-unicode) which is lightweight, can handle true transparency, but has insanely irritating copy/paste features: it will tend to decide to paste any text-string that may have come up at some point since I originally copied something (i.e. if I click on firefox's url-bar and the url gets highlighted, or if i hit alt-f2 and the previous command is highlighted), while pasting into any other app pastes what's in my clipboard, and indicated by my clipboard-program (parcellite).
Other popular choices such as aterm (I really like the tinting effect), xterm and terminator all seem to be unable to use true transparency, in spite of compositing being enabled.
    Any suggestions?

Try the xfce terminal ('terminal'), it works well for me in openbox. Dependencies and other info:

Good afternoon,  my name is mike Perreault , on 9-28-13 I looked for a free music app., I don't know what happen but my credit card was charged $20.20, please tell me why and credit my acc. Because I didn't purchase anything from iTunes .

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. Most of the people who will reply to your posts are, like me, your fellow users.
As to your issue, first, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If you find that this was an in-app purchase, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charge was not an in-app purchase that you made and forgot but the charges do appear in your Purchase History, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. You should also immediately change your password for your Apple ID. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.
    Regards.

  • I had to change my Apple ID. However, it won't change in my phone. I changed it in setting, but when it comes to downloading updates for apps or music, it won't update from my old Apple ID.

However, it won't change in my phone. I changed it in setting, but when it comes to downloading updates for apps or music, it won't update from my old Apple ID. For instance, I had to change my apple ID from (for instance, "[email protected]") to something else ("[email protected]"). I changed it in settings to the new one, but when I go to update apps, my phone is still connected to "[email protected]"
    What should I do?

In the Finder do a Get Info on one of those files & the folder it's in, report what it says for privileges.
Oh, did you maybe change your short username/Home Folder's name?

  • Are there any known good home phone systems for the Home Phone Connect

I've had the Home Phone Connect now for several months.  I have had a Panasonic KX-TG7641 for a good while now.  I bought this system to connect a cell phone through the Bluetooth to make a receive calls at home.  This cell phone stayed docked in the charger next to the Panasonic base station.  There were a few extra steps involved in order to make calls using the Bluetooth and every time my mother-in-law visits it is an extensive training process to show her how to use the phone.  Every. Time. She. Makes. A. Call.
I saw the HPC and figured I could simplify the system and since the cell we kept connected was off contract, I got the HPC for free and signed up for 2 years with it. This was a mistake.  While I can always hear the callers on the line, they sometimes report that I am too garbled to understand.  Today I knew I was going to be on the phone on hold for a while, so I used my home phone handset for comfort (vice holding my Galaxy up to my head for an extended period of time)
After a 30 minute on-hold with the Veterans Administration I finally got through to an operator who informed me she could barely hear me/broken and garbled.  Where I have my HPC at it is right in a window and I have steady 2 bars on it always.  I told her I could call back on my cell phone, but she insisted we power through it so I wouldn't have to wait again on hold.  Well we eventually made it through the call.
After hanging up I used my Google powers to see what the issue it/how to fix it.  It appears that the people that have issues when using the HPC also have Panasonic phones/base stations connected to it.       This might be because Panasonic phones are widely available and are the most common ones in use, but it might also be in that something is incompatible between the 2 systems.  Odd, since the way it connects is similar to an old POTS.  Could it have something to do with the DECT 6.0 that hey use (on the 1.9GHz band) where other older devices use standard 2.4 or 5.8?

Thank you for the tip.  Sorry if it's the wrong forum.  I don't post here often.  I searched for the Home Phone Connect under devices and found it under "Other" so figured this was the best place to post it.  Could you point me to the correct place for the HPC discussions?
I'll double check later when I'm home on my computer to see iff the problems being reported are all using the DECT 6.0 (1.9GHz).  Might be causing some interference of some sort.

  • After i upgrade  to a new phone, will my old 4s still continue to work on wifi for apps and music? or do I need phone service?

after i upgrade  to a new phone, will my old 4s continue to work on wifi for apps and music only? to be used like an ipod?

The support article referenced says to insert the SIM Card from my new phone in the old phone.  That won't work since I have an iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S uses a different size SIM card.
What do I need to do to get past the "Insert a SIM card" message when I don't have the right size card lying around?

Turn it off or leave it on... just do not use it.
Sorry, I do not understand the question.  Seems pretty obvious, if you do not want to use it, do not use it.
In the future, ask your questions in your native language.

    Hello Jack,
I would be concerned too if the speaker on my iPhone was not working.  I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this:
