Question about 3750 as dhcp server

hi,
With two c3750 switches stacked one customer is plannig to configure those switches to act as dhcp server for about three thousand clients.
Can this configuration affect to the normal behaviour of the stack?
Could come up some problems with this amount of clients?

Personally with that many clients i would look to use something like Microsoft Windows DHCP server. Using switches/routers as DHCP servers is fine for a few vlans or clients but for 3000 it is much easier to manage with a dedicated server.

I want to extend the monitor wirelessly to a projector. I thought about using Apple TV and Airplay. However, support for airplay is for MacBooks 2011 and newer. Question about 3750 stack

I have 3 3750 switches: WS-C3750G-12S-S, WS-C3750G-16TD, WS-C3750G-16TD.
They are connected via Stack Cable in half-duplex mode.
I have a 10GE module(X2-10GB-LR=) on WS-C3750G-16TD.
the bandwidth of the logical switch should be 32Gbps. My question is about oversubscribe. totally there are 44 Giga ports. how these 44 Giga ports and 1 10Giga port share this 32Gbps? And what's mean half-duplex for stack mode?

Hello Sha,
this might not directly answer your question, but the way I understand the StackWise technology is that the switches in the stack form a logical ring, with a maximum backplane throughput of 32Gbps, as you already said. Each packet on each switch is load-balanced across the ring. The ring/backplane supports 32Gbps max, if you have more ingress bandwidth than that, the 32Gbps will still be the limit.

I was asked to write a simple Web server that responds to HTTP requests received on port 808

Question about RAC 10g on server running AIX and domain name changes

We have several 10g clusters running on IBM p-Series AIX servers, and our company is changing the domain name for our network. I am concerned that if we do not change the domain names in the TNSNAMES.ora file and also the /etc/hosts file on each server, the cluster will no longer function. We are using CRS (version 10.2.0.3) and ASM within each cluster.
Does anyone know where I can find information about changing the domain name that was set up as part of the CRS and database installs for RAC? Does anyone have experience doing this, and would be willing to share a few insights? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

You may be able to use the VIPCA utility for RAC to change or modify the public and private settings for your domain names on AIX. Also, the Oracle 10g DBCA "Database Configuration Assistant" should be of use to change your settings for your RAC environment.

Question about configurations in Old Server

Dear All,,
I have a Question !
How will you find what are the configuration are in a server.. for example..
Is the DB configured RAC or DATA guard ?
Is RMAN configured or not ?
because at any time we have to face this request for Client who they don't have details regarding their Server,, (in Old Support Projects).
if i have a plan for a upgradation of database what are the documents i have to prepare and what are the steps i have to take at initial stage !

This should be documented and those documents should be provided by the clients.
You could do some investigation but again this will not be correct or complete without the documentation. For example, for RAC you could query the dynamic views (gv$instance, v$instance on each node) but this assume you already know what servers are configured. Or, you could refer to the RAC/DataGuard/RMAN configuration MOS docs for Oracle E-Business Suite and go through the steps to verify if those configurations are presented or not.

Questions about Syncing a Network Server

I have a Windows XP and of course an iMac G5. I have about 6 GB of pictures saved on the XP and I'm using the iMac as a backup, so all my photos dont get blown away when the XP acts like a Windows... you know what i mean... right?
I was wondering if there was a way that whenever a bulk of pictures is added to the XP, if there was a downloadable automator action from the downloads page here on apple.com or some third party software that would sync any added or changed pictures from the XP to the iMac for me every week or so, so that every time a bunch of pictures are added, I wont have to delete the current backed up pictures and copy the entire server over to the backup folder (thats the way I make sure that a picture doesnt get blown away during the process)

Sorry I don't know of any software that can do that, but to make things easier could you not create a weekly folder on your Windows machine (even name it ....week of Aug.14,2005) then just move/add that to your Imac backup folder. It would make it easier to find these pictures later also. Hope this helps and that maybe someone might suggest some software if it exists. Bob :~)

Question about 3750 mls qos map dscp-output-q and cos-output-q

1. If a egress packet has both Cos and Dscp setting, which map should this packet used to put into queue?
2. The 3750 is doing ip route. After the packet is routed, will the packet keep the DSCP and COS? Or it will just keep the DSCP and using the dscp-cos map to create a new COS.

Apologies for the confusion with the terminalogy.
The question is where you have configured the trust boundaries, do you necessarily trust the DSCP value prior to being routed across your network?
Therefore, although you have explicity trusted the DSCP value, do you still trust the value at the remote peer.
For example, you connect into an MPLS with QoS enabled, you know that the values you are trusting are correct within your network, however at the remote peer/branch they could be remarked by the provider. Therefore do you 'believe' the values, or do you simply not trust them and then reclassify on ingress.

Simple question about WLI and admin server

I have a domain with 3 servers in 2 machines. 2 servers forms the cluster and the other one is the admin server.
When a process finish, the WLI core execute a setStatus on JMX component of type ProcessConfiguration. This type of component is only deployed (in my installation) in the admin server. So the Integrarion cluster service depends on admin server...if I stop the admin servers all the process invocations fails...
I have tried to disable the process tracking data using wli console without results...
How I can disable this behavior?
Is there any way to deploy this type of component (ProcessConfiguration JMX) in the cluster?

You can start TOMCAT jsp engine on PC B, it will start on port 8080 on B. And now redirect the requests from Apache in PC A using the mod_rewrite. Look at the following link on how to redirect the requests, give the redirect url as PCB:8080

Question about Sun Sparc T5220 server

I have a Sun Sparc T5220 server with solaris 10 attached to another sun solaris server through its SER port. I can manage the T5220 server by the command "tip" from the other server. There is not any display device attached to the T5220. I would like to know if there is any way i can manage the T5220 server through GUI? is VNC possible?

Question about Mac OS X Server 10.5.8

Hi. I currently have a xServe 2.1 (Early 2008) with Leopard Server OS (10.5.8). I was wondering what is the feasibility of upgrading it to Mac OS X Mountain Lion or would you reocmmend upgrading to another OS?
I read somewhere that the model of xServe is one year older than what Mountain Lion can support but I wanted to confirm and to see which version of OS can I possibly upgrade to with my current setup.

No, you can't upgrade to ML, however you could upgrade to Snow Leopard Server (really the last good enterprise version of OS X Server, the new versions are good but only for SOHO use) or Lion (purchasable by calling Apple). Remember, Lion and Lion Server are 2 seperate components and both must be purchased by calling Apple as they are no longer available on the App Store.

Your code seems ok, you probably end up in another Database than you expect.
Not sure about the the UseDatabaseName=supermarket clause in your connection string.
You can confirm that get a connection to another database by changing your query to:
SELECT * FROM supermarket.dbo.customers
if this works you probably get a connection to master and should look closer at the UseDatabaseName=supermarket clause.
You did try to run the query in the Query Analyzer i take it?

Question about accessing Runtime MBean server

I want to access this from within my EJB application. My WLS 9.1 setup is simple (it's a Single Server Domain), and the class which is attempting to get to the runtime MBean server is from a stateful session bean. The Bean class is in a Jar which is deployed within an Ear as part of an ELB module.
After reading "If the classes for the JMX client are located in a J2EE module, such as an EJB or Web application, then the JNDI name for the Runtime MBeanServer is", I expected to use the JNI name java:comp/jmx/runtime. But this failed.
What worked was the other address specified (java:comp/env/jmx/runtime).
So, apparently this means that "If the classes for the JMX client are located at the top level of an enterprise application (that is, if they are deployed from the application's APP-INF directory)"
So, I'm not sure what this means? Can someone clarify when each address is available and when it's not? The existing explaination in the doco doesn't make sense to me. My application is defined as part of an EJB module, yet I can't use the JNI name for an EJB module?

1,What's the relationship of Location for database Master and mssqlsystemresource in 2012? based on the following technet article it states
" If you move the master database, you must also move the Resource database to the

So I moved the master database , however I found if I move the mssqlsystemresource to the same path as the Master database, then the sqlserver can't start successfully, if keeping the path for mssqlsystemresource to the original path,

2,If I want to move the path for mssqlsystemresource to new path, and make sure the sqlserver can start successfully, how should I do? It doesn't mentioned in the following article.

You did the testing in 2014 or 2012?
In 2012 (Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.5058.0 (X64) , if I move it from "MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn" to "Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA" in which contains the Master database ,it would failed and stated"FileMgr::StartLogFiles:
Operating system error 2(The system cannot find the file specified.) occurred while creating or opening file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\mssqlsystemresource.ldf'"
As I already told I id it on 2014 but it would hardly matter. Error message says that it cannot locate the file. Did you properly ran alter database command to move files. Do you want m to create a step by step to show it to you, I can do it but it would take
a bit of time.
