Hey all,
 I just received the disc for Win64 bit and have not been able to locate 64 bit drivers for my K8n Neo2 Plat. Is this because there are none or I am looking in the wrong places? If I am lookin in the wrong spot could someone direct me to the correct area?  Thanks in advance

  • Question about CS2 on Windows Vista 64 bit

    Hi! I am having the following problem with trying to use CS2 on a new machine running Windows Vista (64bit). Can anyone shed some light or suggest a solution? Thanks!
    I recently tried to install my CS2 suite on an HP G70t, running 64-bit Windows Vista. I installed, uninstalled, and installed again the CS2 suite. The installation goes OK, but when I start the programs, Illustrator simply shuts down, InDesign gives an error message that the serial number is invalid, and Photshop gives the followng error message: "Your Photoshop username, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application
    cannot continue and must now exit. " I verfied my activation and registration with a phone call to HP Customer Service --these are fine. I tried to use the Adobe web support, but they refuse to provide any assistance for CS2.

    Thanks, Michael. I had read in one of the Adobe documents that although CS2
    didn't support Vista, it had been reported that it did upload and work with
    minimal problems. Perhaps that just isn't true.
    Appreciate your response.

  • Question about 64 bit

    I was thinking about reloading my Arch system and was thinking about 64 bit. Just wonder if its mature enough for me to use it on a day to day basis. Such as, full web access to software such as Flash 9, mplayer plugins for media, music plugins for Amarok, Cedega use and other games like Quake 2, 4, RTCW, Enemy Territory, and such.
    Is it recommended, or should I stick with 32 bit for a time?
    Thanks!!!
    Joe

    i installed it yesterday and have only been using it since then, so take these comments with a grain of salt. but it does seem relatively mature, actually. flash 9 was easy to set up using the wiki, it took under 5 minutes. the only things i've noticed so far (only less than a day of use, remember) is that .mov content in mplayer is really slow and choppy for some reason. there have been a few minor non-issue things, but nothing worth mentioning. so far everything's working. no experience with the gaming stuff, though.
    i would recommend doing what i did and installing it on a spare partition. that way you can check it out to see if it does what you need, and if anything's not working or missing, you can boot back into 32 until you get it sorted.
    >> one other thing to mention is that unless i'm doing something wrong, java doesn't seem to work. i also haven't gotten my palm working yet, but that might just be a configuration thing, udev rules i have to copy over, etc.

  • Yet another question about 24-bits

    I have just combined an Echo Audio Indigo IO with Adobe Audition 1.5 in hopes to have a reasonably good laptop recorder. That need is met quite well.
    There are a number of discussions about bit depth in these forums. The answers become obfuscated by internal conversions done in audio cards, software, and Windows drivers. My current interest is simply how to get 24 bits of unadultered data from a D/A convertor to a data file using Audition. This data will be used to analyze pitch, frequency and intonation and any changes to the data will affect the results.
    Both the Indigo IO and Audition claim 24-bit support and I am convinced that both meet these claims fully. In spite of this there is no evidence that the card, Windows, and the software together will actually meet this claim without a 16-bit conversion along the line. What really matters is whether or not 24-bits of audio can travel from the card to the data file without any changes.
    Question 1: In Audition 1.5 for Windows under "Options/Device Properties/Wave In/Supported Formats" for the Indigo IO the highest density recording listed is 16-bit stereo at a 96K sample rate. What properties do other users find for their 24-bit cards?
    Question 2: The wave programming calls (waveInGetDevCaps) don't include capability definitions for anything beyond 16-bit depth at a 96K sample rate. Where in Windows is there evidence of true support for anything greater than 16-bit Audio?
    Question 3: What software is there that will go directly to the sound card or driver and write 24 unadultered bits to a file?

    I had trouble setting up my 24bit/96k ADAC to record 24-bit in audition. The best way to be sure audition is getting the 24bit samples as 24 bits is to check the status bar when recording. If it says 'Recording as 24 bit' then it's all setup right. If it says 'Recording as 16 bit' then the 32-bit float driver or the 24-bit driver reported an error and audition tried to fall back on the 16 bit version and succeeded. The problem I had was that the driver didn't handle 32-bit floats so it errored out and audition recorded as 16 bits. The only solution was to select the 24-bit option under "Options/Device Properties/Wave In(or out)".
    Just a note. A true 24-bit ADC will send 24 bits to the driver and the driver itself will convert the bits to whatever format it supports. If the driver is instructed to convert to normalized floats the software will simply do something like this:
    SampleOut = SampleIn / 8388608.0;
    This doesn't add any coloration to the audio because a float is really just a 24 bit integer with 8 bits added to tell the FPU where to put the decimal point. Converting down from 24-bits of course degrades quality and converting from 24 bits up to a true 32 bit integer would NOT add any quality to the audio. When stored in a file, 24 bits is 24 bits whether its a float or an integer.
    >Question 2:The wave programming calls (waveInGetDevCaps) don't include capability definitions for anything beyond 16-bit depth at a 96K sample rate. Where in Windows is there evidence of true support for anything greater than 16-bit Audio?
    The website showing waveInGetDevCaps function information doesn't show all the possible format tags or even the sample rates. It is only showing the most compatible forms for drivers. The WAVEFORMAT and WAVEFORMATEX structures used for the drivers are also used in the 'fmt ' chunk of RIFF WAVE files. I've written a lot of software for parallel use with audition using wave files and windows and I can say from experience that when recording 24 bits with audition you're getting the full 24 bits. If your driver truly supports 24 bit samples then audition will allow you to select the 24 bit samples option under "Options/Device Properties/Wave In(or out)" and audition will display 'Recording as 24-bits' when recording. Once recorded Audition no doubt converts ALL bit depths to its internal format which I believe is 32 (or 64) bit float, and if you don't process the file and wish to save as 24 bit integers then the samples saved will be exactly what the ADC sent to the driver.

  • Questions about using Styles Window for formatting a book in Apple Works.

    Help says "You can create your own styles in any document type." Not clear on how to do that.
    I wish to have one Style or group of Styles associated with one document of say 500 pages for a book. Each chapter Heading. as a single column layout, is separated by Section Breaks from previous and following text in 2 column layout.
    Question 1. How do I make Styles window settings (Edit/Done) specific for this entire document? Can I edit settings in Styles window and have them remain specific and locked to this particular document? Or are the Styles window settings constant across all documents?
    Question 2. (If Styles window settings are not specific and locked to this document) Do I need to make a NEW Style for each purpose within the document, as in Book Heading, Book Subheading, Book Body, Book special paragraph style, and etc.
    Question 3. When importing multiple sections of the work (by copy and paste) from other AW documents how can I have the imported text follow the book’s Style settings (and vice versa how to keep tab settings that are specific in some areas). Sometimes the imported work refuses to conform to the Book document’s style say line spacing for instance.
    Thank you

    iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8) AppleWorks 6.2.9

    Hi Hilary,
    I haven't used styles enough to give definitive answers to your questions, but I'm sure others will join in and correct any errors in what follows.
    A "Style" is essentially a set of paragraph level format settings that can be collectively applied to a paragraph or contiguous set of paragraphs as a set, rather than having to apply each attribute individually. Once a style is applied to various parts of a document, changes made to the style specification will apply to every part of the document to which that style has been applied.
    AppleWorks also includes two other types of Styles—Outline styles (Diamond, Harvard and Legal), used to identify hierarchical levels of paragraphs, and Table styles, used to format tables.
    Question 1: From the Help article "Using Styles":
    You can copy the collection of all the styles available in a document and make them available in another document. This is called exporting and importing a stylesheet.
    I read this as saying that styles you create are specific to the document in which they are created, but may be exported to other documents. "Other documents" would includes documents saved as templates, which could be used to create the various sections of a book.
    Question 2:
    As the set of styles is specific to the document it is created in (or into which it is imported), you can probably leave "Book " off the names of the styles (but may decide that leaving it on makes it easier to know what the styles are for). You will need to use an existing style or create a new one for each purpose within the document.
    Question 3:
    Copy copies the text AND formatting of the selected material.
    Paste pastes the text AND formatting of the selected material.
    Paste also inserts the pasted material into the target document at the insertion point. All of the pasted material goes into the same Section. If the pasted material includes a section break, then a new section will be created in the target document.
    If you export the set of styles from the master document and apply them to the parts of the source document before transferring the material to the master document, I suspect the formatting will be carried over.
    Another possibility is to leave the source document with no formatting at all beyond paragraph breaks, and to apply the formatting (styles) after transferring the text.

  • Question about  32 Bit Oracle11g Client

    hi
    so many downloads....... i get lost ..........
    from where i can download 32 Bit Oracle11g Client for windows-7 64bit that work with Oracle 11.2.0 64bit using PL/SQL developer ver 7.1 ?
    i really dont know what to download.......
    thanks in advance

    If PL/SQL developer is a 32 bit application, you will need the 32 bit Oracle client (even if the server is running the 64 bit version of Oracle Database). You can download the 11.2.0.1 client from the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-win32soft-098987.html
    The 10.2.0.5 client will also work, but that is more challenging to install.

  • File Saving.. question about Mac and Windows..

    Hi all!
    Just a quick question, is there anything that needs to be considered between saving a file from a java application on either Mac or Windows? Or does java "do" the work and I don't have to worry?
    So far I saved some text from using my application on a Mac but havent got to a PC yet, and would rather make the changes now..
    Thanks

    FYI, this is just on my iphone, not when I view through the web or on my iPad. This is how it looks on my iPhone though... 2 iCloud accounts? Please help.

  • Question about resizing a window

    hi,
    i have a null-layout window which is resizable. the origin size is e.g. 500x300. my question: how can i manage it that resizing is only possible up to specific values for height and width, e.g. 300x150? in other words: i want to define the smallest possible size to which my window could be minimized.
    thanks for every advice!

    hi and thanks for your replies!
    sorry, i think that the desciption of my problem was not exact enough. here a second attemt: my frame is an input-mask with (for the time being) five buttons on the right side ("add", "edit", "clear", "update" and "close"). the first (upper) three buttons move their x-position dynamic when the frame is enlarged in width. they have a fixed y-pos. the lower two buttons move also dynamic: when the frame is enlarged in width they behave as the upper three buttons but when the frame is enlarged in height they change their y-pos dynamic to the frame's height. so they 'move away' in y-pos from the other three buttons. my first problem was, that when i reduce the frames height then the lower two buttons can be moved over the upper three buttons. i have solved this with the following componentListener:
    contentPane.addComponentListener(new ComponentAdapter() {
        public void componentResized(ComponentEvent event) {
             // position of the upper 3 buttons:  x-pos dynamic to frame.width, y-pos. fixed
             addButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,15,100,20);
             editButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,45,100,20);
             deleteButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,75,100,20);
             // position of the lower 2 buttons: x-pos dynamic to frame.width, y-pos dynamic to frame.height
             updateButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,event.getComponent().getHeight()-60,100,20);
             closeButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,event.getComponent().getHeight()-30,100,20);
             // check minimal frame.height (165). if reached, fix y-pos of the lower two buttons
             // so they cannot be moved over the upper three buttons
             if (event.getComponent().getHeight() <=165) {
                 updateButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,105,100,20);
                 closeButton.setBounds(event.getComponent().getWidth()-120,135,100,20);
    });    that works fine, but my next (and main-) problem is, that i want to make it possible, that -if the height of 165 is reached- the BORDER of the frame could not be downsized anymore so that all 5 buttons remain allways visible. therefor i've found no solution in the forum's threads.
    thanks for all tips!

  • Question about FireFox Hello - window view

    Hi!
    I have a question concerning FireFox Hello.
    When I invite somebody to a conversation, 'small window' view is enabled (I mean video conversation is shown in small window in the left bottom corner of my browser).
    On the other hand, when I was invited, the conversation was displayed in whole tab.
    Is there an option to choose / change proper view?
    Thank you in advance.
    Greetings!

    When you've got the small window, you can expand it out to a separate window and you can then resize it however you wish. See the image below - its the arrow that sits next to the X and points to the top-right.
    You can't currently put the tab into the small window, although we are currently discussing using the same small window UX in future versions of Firefox so you won't have the tab view (but you will be able to pop-out etc).

  • Newbie question about 10 bit Uncompressed Video

    Hi guys
    Am I correct in understanding that Uncompressed formats are only for digitizing analog video?
    Like, with DV or HDV or HD 1080p/ P2 etc.. I would never need to use any Uncompressed codecs.. is that right??
    Basically my question is: when would I use one of these Uncompressed codecs?
    Thanks!

    Animation for interchange between platforms is no compression, and with alpha if millions+ is chosen. Basically these files would be exported from 10 bit files at our shop. Image sequences would be generated the same way unless they were going out to a grading station or VFX in which case they would be 16bit tiff or DPX files.
    The main reason for not passing 10 bit video is gamma interpretation between platforms.
    we have had success with AJA 10 bit uncompressed being passed to PC shops with them using the AJA codec on their systems. Most of these transfers are aftereffects based projects, captured via Kona3 in FCP automatic ducked to AE and passed with media and project. They come back the same way in an AE project. we can then control which layers go where depending on their use and workstation.

  • Question about defining [bit] attribute for products in MXI file ( bug ? )

    Hi,
    When I define the [bit] attribute for a product element in xmi file (set to 64) and create the package, Adobe extension manager CS6 denies to install it on a 64-bit system (by saying:) because it is a 64-bit extension!!
    I tried it in two different environments (Vista and 8 - 64 / CS6) with same result!
    Is it a bug (known?) or am I doing something wrong?!
    <product version="8" maxversion="8" primary="true" name="InDesign" platform="win" bit="64"/>
    Any idea would be appreciated, thx, mim

    The bit attribute means the Win32 or Win64 version of the product for which this extension can be installed. It has nothing to do with the Windows OS architecture. Since InDesign CS6 has noly 32 bit version, you don't have to specify bit as "64", even if you are using Windows 64 bit.
    Starting from CC, InDesign has both 32 bit and 64 bit version on Windows. But they have different product name, "InDesign" and "InDesign64" respectively. So if you only want to create the extension for 64 bit InDesign CC, you can specify:
    <product version="9" name="InDesign64" />
    The "primary" attribute is no longer used on CC. The product name of InDesign on Mac is still "InDesign", so "platofrm" and "bit" attributes are unnecessary to be specified in this case.

    I bought a 23" ACD for my wife's computer, not realizing that an issue with displaying the BIOS existed. ( We Mac users are deprived of messing with BIOS, fortunately).

    As the last thread about this is nearly a year old, is there anyone out there with an AGP card that successfully sees the BIOS on boot-up and has a card useful for intensive PowerPt use. Could you please post the exact card used.
