Question about Alpha option in the transfer rules for infoobject

SDN Experts,
I know that we check the Alpha conversion for only numbers like 0,1,2. this alpha option puts zeros in fornt of numbers but what happens when we get characters words for example 'Apple' does it put zeros infornt like '00Apple'?

Dear Les,
Alpha Conversion is used to store the input data or incoming data in the Defined Internal Format , and it at the time of displaying it displays in the User defined format..for eg ...date field..the system stores as YYYYMMDD and it gets displayed as DD.MM.YYYY ( or any specified format by the user ) , this is usually for Numbers as the length needs to be maintained when storing at the database..
and at the time of display it pads the zero's and displays...
you can also check CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_INPUT , CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_OUTPUT function modules where XXXXX denotes a Conversion Routine..( Eg ALPHA ) ...

How can I activate the transfer rules for the ODS updating a data target.

We are on BW 3.5 and I'm loading data into the 0FIGL_O10 ODS and then uploading the data into the cube 0FIGL_C10. The data loads just fine to the ODS but when I try to 'update the data target' I get a date & time stamp' error on the info-package transfer rules.
I then Replicate the datasource 80FIGL_O01.
I must then 'activate' the transfer rules.
However I cannot get the transfer rules for 80FIGL_O10 in CHANGE MODE to activate them.
How can I activate the transfer rules for the ODS updating a data target.
The error text is as follows:
DataSource 80FIGL_O10 has to be replicated (time stamp, see long text)
Message no. R3016
Diagnosis
DataSource 80FIGL_O10 does not have the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.
The time stamp in the source system is 02/15/2007 10:42:33.
The time stamp in the BW system is 11/07/2006 13:11:54.
System response
The load process has been terminated.
Procedure
Copy the DataSource again and then activate the transfer rules that belong to it. You have to activate the transfer rules in every case, even if they are still active after the DataSource has been copied.

A question about text allignment in the Keynote app for iOS

Hello,
I'm just wondering if there's an issue with text allignment in the Keynote app when trying to export to iTunes as a .ppt file and it is written in the Arabic language?For I have this issue in the pages app, it happens when I try to export the file to my PC as a .doc file. Is it also In keynote?
I really need an answer as soon as possible; because I have presentation that I need to finish tomorrow!

Sorry, I don't know, perhaps someone else has tested them. I would recommend you make your presentation on real computer using PowerPoint.

BW3.5: Error message when trying to activate the transfer rule

CI2220 is the backend R/3 system, I had no issue in replicating the data source etc. this error occurred while trying to activate the transfer rule after assigning the info source to the replicated datasource in BW.
Can anybody tell me how to view( what transaction etc) the generation log to understand the issue?

Thanks for yoyur prompt reply, I would try to follow the instruction, but at the same time please note that previously we had no issue in activating the transfer structure. I would like to see the log in the source system, but don't know how to and which transaction to use etc. any help would be appreciated.

How to knw the Transfer rules of Infosource 80PUR_O01?

In Metadata Repository,
Taking an example,
"Vendor Evalution-0PUR_C02" Infocube we get Update rules at the bottom of the page,
from Update rules page, in the bottom of tht page we get Infosource,
Now in this Infosource page we get 'Transfer Rules'.
this is the normal procedure i suppose to find 'Transfer Rules'.
Similarly im trying out for "Purchasing Order Qty Service Level-0PUR_C07",
but im not able to get the 'Transfer Rules for ths Cube.
Please let me know the Procedure, how to find out Transfer rules for this "PO Qty Service level" Infocube................?

Can we run the Transfer rule activation in parllel ?

HI All,
As part of BI system refresh I need to activate the transfer rules for three of the source systems by tunning the report RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL . I have many systems and each one taking around 1-2 hours and my doubt now whether I can go for activating the rules parellely for all the source systems or it should be done one by one only.
Appriciate you can answer with the justification.

Yes u can run them in parallel....
Because U r activating the Transfer Structures in BI side....and these mappings are independent of the remaining systems..
So these can be done parallellly.

Hi Arunabha,
I would confrim that there is no issue with the datasource in your r/3 system. Can you run the datasource on your r/3 system with no errors using RSA3?
If the datasource is ok, then I would check out the error message number in OSS or SDN. I have seen this error before, I just cannot recall what the fix was.

Strat routine code in transfer rules for the Extractor - 0CO_OM_CCA_1

Dear SDNers,
I have a scenario to implement a start rouine code in the transfer rulesfor the Extractor - 0CO_OM_CCA_1 , please give a light on this.
Scenario:
The extractor 0C0_OM_CCA_1 brings in Cost Center transactional data for costs and allocation into the SAP BI data warehouse. A cross reference table will be created in SAP BI for Profit Center. These tables will have CRM (CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT) Profit Centers stored in them.
In the transfer rules for 0CO_OM_CCA_1, add ABAP code in the start routine to block CRM (CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT) data. The code will have the following logic:
Check Cost center master data table u2018/BI0/QCOSTCENTERu2019
This table u2018/BI0/QCOSTCENTERu2019 being time dependent, use the last day of the fiscal period from transactional data as the date to select from u2018/BI0/QCOSTCENTERu2019.
Go to the Profit center reference table and identify if the data belongs to BSC Boston Scientific/CRM (CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT).
Block CRM (CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT) data.

Activating transfer rules for new source system

Hi
we are having 2 R/3 source system in BI. I had activated all the transfer rules with the first source system and now i have created a new source sytem connecting to a different R/3 client. I tried to change the transfer rules point to the new source system using the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL giving the new source system and the infosource name. But i get the error "No Transfer Structure Selected" when i execute the prg.
how can i change the source system without creating the transfer rules for the new source but use the existing transfer rules and just change the source system assigned to it????

Hi Sujai,
There are many cases when this program is used.
When the Trans rules get de-activated due to impact,we need to first replicate the data source and activate the TR using this program.This generally occurs during the data loads in prd.
It does not makes sense to transport it when there r no changes done to the TR.So simply,u can use this program to activate.
If the program does not work,then you are left with the transport option.

Error while installing transfer rules for 0PM_C03 from Business content

Hi All,
When i try to install the transfer rules for the Infocube 0PM_C03 from the Business Content, i get the following error:
"Mapping between 2LIS_17_I3HDR 2LIS_17_ORDER is inconsistent".
Here 2LIS_17_ORDER is the Infosource, and 2LIS_17_I3HDR is the datasource.
Also, kindly let me know how can the Infosource and the datasource have different names, like in the case for this Cube.

Hi Mayank,
You can simulate debugging in transfer rules or update rules if you have used a PSA.
To simulate debuggin with selective records, load your data target via PSA.
Load the info package till PSA.
In the Details tab, in the monitor of your infopackage/scheduler---> in the details tab-->drill down the messages until you start seeing data package.
When you right click on the message Proceesing of Data package1/2/...n, you will find an option to simulate debug.If you select this option it opens a new window where you could mentione---> activate the debugger in the transfer rule or activate the debugger in the update rule...

In DTP, there is one specific processing mode for debugging and you could switch the debugger at particular break points by checking the relevant checkbox.

While i was activating the cube by using the options " In data flow before" all the tranfer rules and the update rules have been activated,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,now i want to create the transformations on that cube for that I just want to know how to Deactivate the transfer rules and the Update Rules..............so that in future if i require them i can use them later..........

carry on with your transformation.
unless u create infopackage for 3.x infosource u will not encounter update & transfer rules.
KEEP IN memory once u use a data source r/3-bw(u activate it in rsa5 in r/3 side& use it intransfer rules datasource definition).
u will not be able to assign the same datasource another time.
this is not the case with flat file loads were u assigh it as pcfile or my file .

How to delete blank space from value of Infoobject in the transfer rule

does anyboady know how to write a routine in the transfer rule in order to delete ending blank spaces from value of Infoobject 'ORDTEXT'. E.g. value: 'ABM '? After routine, the result should be 'ABM'.

Deleting 'ending blank spaces' from a character type field (ie info-object or text) in SAP is not meaningful. For all usage, a char type field of length 8 having value 'ABM ' is same as 'ABM'.

For all usage, a char type field of length 8 having value 'ABM_____' is same as 'ABM', take the underscore character (_) in the first string as a placeholder for space character.
