Question about audiobook syncing

I downloaded an audiobook on my iPhone and thought it would sync with my ipad but can't find it anywhere! If I go on my ipad and try to download it again it says I've already purchased it!

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, they won't appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad nor will they automatically download on other devices. You will need to copy it from your phone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (it should copy over to the Books part of your computer's iTunes) and you can then sync it to your iPad

Questions about Web Sync

Hi all,
I have what is hopefully a simple question that I'm just overlooking. This is my setup:
SQL 2008 R2 on server.
SQL 2008 R2 Express on client.
Windows 2008 R2 running IIS.
I have configured IIS with replisapi and can see the webpage. all of the tests come back as a "success".
I have the publication created with the snapshot going to an FTP folder. I can get to the FTP folder from the clients via simply browsing to the directory.
I can create the subscription on the client and it shows up on the server successfully.
I can't get the synchronization to actually happen. I'm not sure if I'm creating the subscription wrong and using the wrong security stuff or if I've got something else screwed up. Its been baffling me for weeks now.
I'm new to web sync so please don't assume I've done everything perfectly. Its very possible that I've screwed something up along the way.

It is hard to say what is occurring here.
For debugging I normally run the merge agent from the command line. This allows me to see the error.

Question about renaming sync'd SharePoint Online document library with OneDrive Pro

If I have a site called http://mycompany.sharepoint.com/sites/Department/Documents created as a document library subsite, the OneDrive Pro share will show it under "OneDrive @ My Company" as "Documents - Documents".
What would I need to change in order for the OneDrive sync'd view to show as "SubsiteName Documents - Documents"?
Can I do this by just changing the title of the subsite's header (i.e. changing 'Documents' to 'Department Documents', or does the whole subsite path name need to be changed (i.e. /sites/Department/DepartmentDocuments/)?

You can invite people to your SharePoint site using External Accounts (Microsoft Accounts or other tenant Office 365 accounts) which there is no charge for.

Question about Audiobook file format

Can Audiobooks be in .mp3 format or are they in other file format? I am using iTunes 6.01.4.2
I have the Bible on 6 CDs, in .mp3 format.
I'd like to be able to add them to the iTunes Library
as Audiobooks if this is possible or do I have to add them as I would a music file?

Question about iTunes syncing

Hi, how do I sync only 1 movie from my itunes, onto a friends ipod? i need to know how to do this so when i press sync all my music and other movies dont go on my friends ipod, just the video i want.

how do i put my friends ipod into manual mode??? and will doing that make it so when i plug it in and press sync only the movies i want go on it and none of my music?
Ipod's normally expect to be connected to one library. You can choose whether content is managed automatically or manually by selecting the appropriate options in the iPod Summary tab while your iPod is connected. When you plug an iPod into a "foriegn" computer (in other words your friend's iPod into your computer) you should recieve a message like this:-
The iPod "iPod" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPod and sync with this iTunes library?
An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPod with the contents of this iTunes library.
At this stage you must click cancel or iTunes will start overwriting the files on your friend's iPod. Find the Summary tab for the iPod and make sure "Manually manage music..." is selected. At this point you should be able to manually drag selected files from your iTunes library to the iPod. When managing music & videos in this fashion you don't use the sync function. For more info. see Managing content manually on iPod. As I mentioned earlier, any files you add in this way will be removed next time your friend syncs with their own library unless they normally manage their files manually. If your aim is to give your friend a copy of the video (which as stressed earlier you must have appropriate permission to do) it might be easier to transfer the file onto the storage area of the iPod so that they can transfer it on to their own computer and then import into their own iTunes library.

Question about audiobook download

I downloaded an audiobook that shows I have part 1of 2 and part 2 of 2 downloaded. However it will not let me open part 2 of 2. It will only let me listen to 2 of 2 which is chapter 20. What do I do???

A question about Audiobooks

When I select the book, the list of chapters is shown as "Part 1 of 37" and so on. How do I setup the chapter list in such a way that the title of the chapter is shown as well?.
In iTunes, all the chapters in my audiobooks are labeled.

You don't.
Only option is select the icon to the right of the book title that looks like a bullet point with a line-shows numbered chapters and chapter length.

Newbie question - general question about e-mail sync

Hi,
I have a general question about email sync and BlackBerry smartphones. Are there any devices that allow email syncing with a Microsoft Exchange 2007 system that do not require the BlackBerry Enterprise server?
Thanks; sorry if this has been asked before but I was unable to find it in the forums, documentation, etc. Everything I found assumes that for this kind of environment you will be using a BlackBerry Enterprise solution, but I can't assume.

If the Exchange server has anything that faces the internet (OWA, POP, IMAP), then BIS can be used to handle email (only email...calendar and contacts require BES to sync OTA).
Or, a PC, inside the network (but with an internet path) and logged into the email server (using Outlook), can be left running, using the RIM Desktop Software's Desktop Redirector capability to forward messages to the BB.
Those are basically the options.

Basic Questions on the Syncing Process

I have a couple of questions about the syncing process.
First - does the syncing take place through MobileMe and the so called “cloud” or does it take place through the physical connection of the Touch to the iMac via the USB cable? When I connect the Touch to the iMac, I have
sync Address Book contacts
and
sync iCal calendars checked in iTunes
and there’s a little message in the same iTunes window under Bookmarks which tells me that the bookmarks are being synced over the air via MobileMe. So is the following assumption correct on my part that
Address Book
iCal
are being synced via the physical USB connection while the Bookmarks are being synced over the WiFi connection?
And finally, if I have contacts - let’s call them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the Touch and only 1, 2, 3 on the iMac
what happens with the syncing process? Do the contacts on the Touch get reduced to 1, 2, 3 or do those on the iMac expand to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ? The question I guess is what syncs to what? Do changes on the iMac transfer over to the Touch during syncing or does it work the other way too?

1) If you have it to sync via Mobileme, then it sync via Mobileme. If you do not, then it does not.
2) It syncs both ways.

*How many megabytes does a 14 hour Audiobook take up?
*What does "abriged" and "unabriged" mean next to Audiobooks?
*Why are they so expensive?

I have never purchased one from iTunes only ripped my own. The ones I ripped ended up being 40MB per disk with the setting I used. Using standard iTunes 128k AAC import each disk will be about 60MB.
Abridged and unabridged for audiobooks refers to whether the audio includes the full text of the book. Many audiobooks are abridged, meaning the book has been edited to remove content thereby shortening it.
Expense comes down to added cost of making the audiobook. For instance, the last Harry Potter book was 18 CDs if I remember right. The person performing the reading of the book has to be paid, the recording staff, and so forth. Quite often audiobooks use famous or at least known actors to do the reading. This will cost more.
I prefer unabridged audiobooks read by the author but that is rare. Next best is unabridged read by a good actor. The better readers can add to the listening experience by using their acting skills to add accents and change tone while reading.

Question about ICloud. Do I have to back-up my iPad and iPhone4 to iCloud b4 sync with iTunes? Last time I synced iphone4 with iTunes, I updated to 5.0.1 when I connected, but it wiped my calendar entries. I had to reset to the last date I had synced (4months ago). So my question is... Now that I have iCloud, should I back up both my iPhone and my iPad before I sync with iTunes? And will all the data from iPad, iPhone, and computer all merge when the iPad and iPhone are synced?

Few questions about syncing

I have a few questions about syncing. Since this is my first iphone and apple product, I'm not familliar with it. My mother bought the tomtom app for navigation. And she said that it has 3 uses (for 3 different devices). Now the app is in her library on her computer. So if i try to sync with her library, it will erase all my previous apps. How come? Also I'm planning to use a laptop in college so I'll have to sync it with that.
What should I do to keep my apps?

All 3rd party apps - paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account used to download the app. This is required by 3rd party app developers to prevent people from stealing from them with paid apps. If not for this, you could pay for and download the TomTom app which is not cheap and all your friends and family members with an iPhone could install the app on their iPhone without paying for it, which in effect is stealing.
There is no device limit for the number of iPods and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library on the same computer, but in regards to all iTunes content - music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.

Yes when you first set up the account or when you first add a device to the cloud, if it is not the first time, it will merge with the other data

By default it merges. There is no option to change this.
What happens to the information on the second device that is not in the cloud?
It will sync at the next sync interval if that data is selected to sync.

It resolved the entry the next time the first and second device syncs. Can you elaborate on the second part of this question?

Few questions about icloud!!!

hi guys....i rly find it complicated to deal with this icloud thing i wanna ask a few questions ..so my 1st question is that how to get the camera roll back on my photo stream cuz i thought am saving space and i deleted all the photos in my photo stream how to get that back and if its not possiple is the pics i deleted still on i cloud ?
2nd question about back up..so when i back up through icloud all the pics i have wither it was on the photo stream or not is backed up ?

Note that Photo Stream does not store photos: any photo in Photo Stream is deleted from iCloud 30 days after being added. Photo Stream is designed to sync your pictures to all your devices. If your photos were removed from Photo Stream and Camera Roll, the only way to get them back is by restoring a backup with those photos.
Your phone backup includes all the photos taken with it (those ones which were stored on Camera Roll), so if you have lost them, you can restore a backup. See -> Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

Few questions about Lenovo G550

Hello, I plan to buy an inexpensive laptop, propably it will be a Lenovo G550L but I got few questions about this model. Here are my questions:
1. What 320GB hard disks are mounted inside G550L, Western Digital, Seagate or Hitachi (exact model if possible)?
2. How are the hinges of LCD screen in this model, cause they look pretty weak. Do they break easy, does anyone got any experience with this type of hinges which are "forward type" instead of normal?
2. I have noticed that there are two types of laptop chassis in this model one is matte black and another is grey glare. How to determine which model has which finish? Which finish got laptops with T4300, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Intel IGP x4500, no card reader, no hdmi.

my friend samsung any net, toshiba regza link, panasonic viera link is their special TM to support CEC
but just for their product not other products,for instance a samsung dvd player and a samsung lcd can sync easily with with hdmi cable
and in this case you dont need an extra remote control to control dvd besides tv.just with having a remote you can control both of them or the other audio visual products from that campany
please think???? how could you control your lenovo when it does not have a remote?
every device need to send signals to the remote not by just some wires like HDMI
lcd has a remote and a dvd player also has a remote and if those are from a unit company,they share a common signal with HDMI cable ,then you could control both of them with just one remote.
this can ease your work,as you dont need a lot of remote around your devices
but they should be from just a unit producer cause they uses different protocols
and of course they want to sell their various products and oblige you to buy other products from that producer to have the compability for having just one remote.
