Question about BACK BUTTON on MIC

My back button is a thick arrow, not the arrown shown on the pictures of the zen micros. Does that mean I have the old or newer micro.

The original silk screening used finer graphics; the thick back arrow indicates this is the second generation of face plate. That still could go back to Feb or March when the AC adapter and cradle was still included, so that does not necessarily mean your Micro was made last week.
Not sure if that helps ...
cheers,

  • Question about back button and Onload function in a jsp

    Hi All,
    I am having two jsp pages, say a.jsp and b.jsp. I had a javascript onload function which refreshes all the fields in a.jsp. When i enter some values in a.jsp, based on those values i will be getting the results in b.jsp. Now when i click the back button in b.jsp, it will go to a.jsp again. The problem i am facing is when i click this back button, because of the onload function in a.jsp all the fields in a.jsp are getting refreshed but i want the values which i entered previously in that page. Is there a way that i can do this such that the onload function will not run when i come to that jsp by clicking the back button.
    Also i would like to know why a.jsp is reloading when we click the back button in b.jsp and coming to a.jsp. Is this way how back button will function. I am not sure of it. Plz clarify my doubts..
    Thx.....

    Normally it is not advisable to use the browser back button rather if there is a need we should
    implement the back button functionality.
    For e.g
    In b.jsp
    <head>
    </head>
    <script language="Javascript">
    function fnBack()
      document.frmHeader.action = "a.jsp";
      document.frmHeader.submit();
    </script>
    <form name="frmHeader" method= "post">
    <input type="hidden" name="hdCheckFromB" value="Y">
    <p>
    <input type="button" name="btnBack" value="Back" onClick="javascript:fnBack();">
    </p>
    </form>
    </body>---------------------------------------
    Now , in a.jsp
    <%
    String strBackParameter = requst.getParameter("hdCheckFromB");
    %>
    // Now if strBackParameter is carrying a value "Y" , then we know its from B else body onLoad refresh-------------------------------------
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Please delete my question about backing up. I already found my answer.

    Hi,
    Please delete my question about backing up. I already found my answer. Just wanted to make sure that it was okay to backup the iPod_Control folder. I've read that other people have done this and re-imported back to iTunes. Here's the question I submitted. When I get my iPod back in order I am gonna backup the iPod_Control folder .

    Thanks,

    No urgent reason to delete it. Just reply to yourself as above, if you care to, and then mark your own answer as correct. You won't get any points, but it will be clear you are closing out the topic.

  • Few Questions About Backing Up Files

    Okay, I'm pretty new to this, and have checked the support pages, but I do have some questions about backing up my files.
    I'm running out of room on my computer's hard drive, and am wondering if burning the library to CDs will allow me to quickly restore my library on my computer when I sync my iPod.
    I know that when an iPod syncs with a comp, it will lose any songs that aren't on the library list. (If I deleted some songs to free up room, I'd lose those songs on my iPod when I synced it up.) Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Some way to save a headache continuously restoring my iPod's library every time I want to add a new song or recharge it?
    I'm on Windows XP, if that matters.

    Best and easiest solution is to buy an external hard drive. Then simply drag and drop your iTunes folder from your internal onto the external and copy the entire library.

  • Question about Backing Up apps and using Migration tool

    Since installing Leopard on my G5 PPC, I have been having a strange problem with the sleep, screen saver. Anytime the system goes into screensaver or sleep, it will not come back and will be frozen. Needless to say I was told by the Mac Genius guys that I need to do a clean install.
    So my real question now is about backing up all my apps and then using the migration tool to bring them back into the new install. I was going to attempt to use Carbon Copy Cloner on a second internal drive (Time Machine has never worked for me on my Lacie 500gb.) Once I have a full bootable copy, I will do a clean install (erase and install option) on my original drive, then I guess I am going to use the migration tool.
    So my questions are:
    1) Does this strategy seem like it will work?
    2) Is the migration tool straightforward? IE - Can I pick and choose what to put back on the new install?
    3) Any pitfalls that I should be aware of?
    I have already backed up my docs and data to the external, but I have so many programs with plugins installed that getting my apps back the way they are is essential to me.
    Thanks.

    Remember Time Machine is designed to do constant, incremental backups of your HDD. If you delete something from the internal HDD of the Mac it will no longer be backed up to the external HDD and will eventually be deleted from the backup archive as time passes and TM keeps doing its backups.
    What will probably be a better solution is to simply drag-n-drop the entire iTunes folder to an external HDD for backup and use that as the main iTunes library. The drawback to this is that to play the music you'll need to have the external HDD connected. Unless your plan is not to delete all the music from your MBP, just some of it.

  • HT4859 question about backing up iphone

    if I back up my iphone/ipad to my computer, then delete a file (say, a picture) from my iphone/ipad, then back up the iphone/ipad again, will the previously deleted file still be backed up, or will it be gone?

    The iphone backup that itunes performs does not include photos or itunes content.  You should be including this content in your regular backup of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
    Here is info on the iphone backup that itunes performs:

  • Question about backing up Referenced Iphoto Library

    I was wondering about the best way to back up a referenced iphoto library.
    At this point in time I have my referenced iphoto library and my "master" photo library (a folder that contains all of the actual photos) on one external drive. I would like to back up both of these files to another external drive (on a monthly basis).
    My question is, if I have both external drives on a the same time (both containing the Iphoto library & Master folder on each), and open up one of the reference iphoto libraries, which "master" photo folder will iphoto access?  I want to make sure iphoto "references" the master folder I want it to.
    I hope this question makes sense and appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    Well that's for iPhoto 09 or earlier. In those versions the amount of space used was even greater with Referenced Libraries... (all those aliases take up space too...)
    The installation consists of your Master Photos, plus thumbnails, Previews, database files and caches. In a managed Library the Masters are stored within the iPhoto Package File. In a Referenced Library the Masters are stored outside the iPhoto Package File. That's the only difference. So the total amount of space used in the Installation is... The same. Masters plus thumbnails, Previews, database files and caches.
    Running a referenced Library offers no extra functionality, no extra capability and significant pitfalls. And it takes up the same amount of disk space.

  • Question about print button

    Good morning everyone,
    Quick question for you this morning, im playing around with the print button and so far i get it to do what i want. Which is basically print in "FIT" mode like this:
    xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 1, 0, 0, 0);
    now this takes care of people who press my custom print button, but i dont have control over the folks that might activate that from the print icon or from the print menu options.
    Now for this i know that using PRE:PRINT would solve it for sure, but i dont know how to write the code in there so it works.
    What i did at first is copy the print code above in that section, but if i press my Print button where the same code is, i create a endless loop.
    Im just trying to cover my self and make sure that what ever one of the 3 print choices they choose, i will be able to execute the code above and without any infinite loops
    Any ideas how i could set this up?
    Thank you very much again!!!

    Hi,
    you can disallow printing form the menu items or key combination with a bit of scripting.
    But first you need a variable you add under the form properties with a default value like 0.
    Lets name it "usedPrintButton".
    Ok, now the scripting part.
    There are 3 scripts in 3 different events neccassary. You can use all those events of your print button.
    1. click event
    // Modify the variable to imply user has started printing from this button
    usedPrintButton.value = "1";
    xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 1, 0, 0, 0);
    2. prePrint event
    // Check the variable and cancel printing when it's 0
    if (usedPrintButton.value == "0") {
              xfa.event.cancelAction = true;
    3. postPrint event
    // Set the variable back to 0
    usedPrintButton.value = "0";
    Hope this helps.

  • Qosmio X300-14F - Question about illumination buttons and XP downgrade

    Hello,
    I've got 2 questions concerning the laptop I bought 3 weeks ago.
    _*Question1*_
    There are 9 buttons above the F-keys. They're being lit. In the beginning they all worked fine, but recently I've found that only the buttons designed to work in a mediaplayer work (meaning: pause/play, stop, previous, next). The other buttons (mediacenter, (un)mute, illumination on/off, webcam, DOLBY) refuse to do anything except for making beeping noises.
    I'd like to be able to decide when to turn the illumination off/on without dragging the wireless flashcardsized-controller with me everywhere I go.
    Any leads on how to solve this are welcome!
    I tried this already:
    Start > all programs > TOSHIBA > utilities > Toshiba Assist > optimize > Toshiba Button Support
    But there's 2 problems with that. First of all I don't know where the executable is that dims/turns on the lighting. Second of all it still doesn't work for e.g. the dolby button. All it does is beep - loud.
    _*Question2*_
    I've been thinking about 'downgrading' from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows XP since I'm tired of getting weekly BSODs and *daily* displaydriverfailures. I was concerned about not being able to find the drivers once I got XP on this laptop. I've looked on the official Toshiba website (this one :P), but there's only Windows Vista drivers?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    1) The program that turns on and off the illumination is called dimmer.exe. That you should find in the Toshiba folder (C:\program files\Toshiba).
    If you assign this exe file with the button it should work again. If not, try to reinstall the Toshiba Value Added Package.
    On the Dolby button its the same, you must assign the right .exe file with the key.
    2) The point is that only Windows Vista is supported on this notebook and there are no XP drivers available. You can collect the drivers on external website but if you have problems with XP you should downgrade to Vista. The notebook is really fast enough for Vista. ;)

  • Question about backing up library in iTunes

    Before I post my question, I just wanted to say that I did searches for the answers but couldn't find a concrete answer, so here I am.
    I am using iTunes 7.x for Windows (Thinkpad X41 Tablet, Windows XP Pro, 2GB RAM) and it works fine (except for burning CDs but that's another topic!).
    I just have one major question: I keep my music and library on an external hard drive, and had to perform a restore of a backup from a week ago. Anyway, I lost ALL of the album art, lyrics, and other customizations I had made to the library. I spent the entire day getting everything back the way it was before and I'm now backing up the library to DVDs. Is my album artwork also backed up with the library, or is there an additional process I have to take to do that because I don't want to have to search for and download all that stuff again.
    Thanks!

    When you do your backups, do you back up the itunes metadata library ITL file?
    That holds all your ratings, playcounts, etc.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660
    +I lost ALL of the album art, lyrics, and other customizations I had made to the library+
    Where are you storing these? By using itunes defaults?

  • Is this a good idea?  Question about backing up data

    Hi,
    I have a MacBook Pro that is about two years old. It's working well.
    I have a year old WD MyBook premium edition, 500GB, that I've been using as an external hard drive to back up my data. Recently, it was working fine (as recent as three days ago). Now, all of a sudden, it won't mount onto my computer. I've tried it in both the USB and Firewire ports, as well as on a different MacBook, and it won't mount anywhere. I also turned it on and off, turned off the computer, connected everything in a different order, etc. Then, I tried it on a PC with XP and it had no problem finding the drive and I was able to open it.
    So I called WD tech support and he told me to do this:
    -Connect the external hard drive to the PC
    -Drag/drop all of the data on the drive onto the PC
    -Reformat the external hard drive in Windows
    -Drag and drop/put the data back on it
    -Try to connect it back to the MacBook pro, where it should mount
    He said something about partitioning the drive, which I sort-of understand what he meant, but not completely. This process seems like it will be long and may not work, so I wanted to get someone else's opinion before I started it. Does this seem like the right idea to get the hard drive to mount?
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    I see four possible alternatives, in varying degrees of severity:
    # There's some minor problem with the volume, preventing an automatic mount. Start up Disk Utility, plug the drive in (preferably via FireWire). Does the device appear on the left column of D.U.'s window? With the volume name greyed out underneath? If this is the case, try doing a Disk Repair on it: if any errors pop up, you will have to redo the repair until you get no more error messages or D.U. says it can't repair and you need to use stronger stuff.
    # The volume is severely damaged and/or the partition is shot. In this case, the device pops up in D.U., but no volume name appears underneath or you get a generic name. In this case, stronger stuff is mandatory, such as Disk Warrior.
    # The electronics of the drive are damaged, so that nothing appears on D.U.'s window when you plug the drive in on yours and other Macs and with both FireWire or USB. This can be caused by damage to the power supply (drive isn't turning on), the USB/FW bridgeboard that connects those interfaces with the HDD's ATA/SATA controller, or the HDD controller card itself. This would mean that the drive is, indeed, dead but if the HDD still works, you may be able to salvage it by opening the case up, taking the HDD out and putting it in another case, at least till you copy your info over to another drive. Then, if there's any sort of warranty left, you can put it back together and send it in.
    # Your Mac's interface ports (USB/FW) are somehow compromised and not working. Does the drive mount on another Mac? Have you tried resetting the Mac's PRAM/NVRAM and the System Management Controller (SMC)? Are you able to connect your Mac to another via Target Disk Mode?
    Since tools such as Disk Warrior are expensive, some Apple shops may offer checking/repairing your drive with them, for a fee.

  • Still Questions about Backing-Up Itunes

    When I tried to reinstall iTunes (9.2.1) library from my external hard drive to a newly installed iTunes 10 on a new HDD, I noticed my play count, ratings, and EQ settings weren't present. Well, the new HDD was a bust in lease than 24 hours. I took out the new busted HDD and put my old HDD back in to my computer with iTunes and upgraded to iTunes 10. . . so I could finally play with my new Touch 4g. I'm getting another new HDD today; I'm going to back-up my iTunes 10 library and then move them to the new HDD.
    My question , what am I doing wrong? I thought I read Apples instructions on backing up, and reinstalling an iTunes Library. Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

    Thanks Katrina for joining the conversation. To be honest, I had copied and paste my iTunes folder back into Tunes. I'm sure I'm making this far more complicated than it is. Even so, I'd hate to go through 35000 songs and set EQ settings and ratings again. Thanks again for your assistance.
    Here's Apples Support Instructions . . . I posted the wrong link but for me I don't think it makes any difference. lol! http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1751

  • Question about making buttons

    I've been struggling with formatting my website (http://www.lesill.com). I have posted pictures fine, but these are photos offered for sale and I can add paypal carts and add to cart buttons fine. The problem is that the Add to cart buttons, even the smallest are too big and each photo can be ordered in different sizes. I recently visited a site that has a perfect setup, but I can't figure out how to do this. The side was www.heartdogstudios.com . I have written the author asking how it was accomplished so I am hoping to hear back from him/her. If anyone here can help it would be appreciated.
    Also, are there free shipping calculators that can be added?
    Thanks Lee

    Thanks for your help anyway Brad. At least we troubleshooted
    as much as we could with it.
    I'll see if I can contact RJ through his blog since he's the
    evangalist on Captivate over at Adobe. Maybe he might know or at
    least can tell me if it's different in Captivate 4. There are so
    many new things that it's possible they are allowing quiz templates
    and more freedom with the design.
    Mine is on order as well. I can't wait!
    Thanks again,

  • IOS 7 Question about backing up iCal

    I recently saw an article in one of our trade mags that said that with iOS 7 you could not backup your calendar through iTunes, that you had to have an iCloud account in order to do this.... doesn't make much sense to me as an active iCal user. Does anyone know if there is any validity to this?
    Thanks, JimTX

    Mavericks server is out. I believe it's $20. If you have CalDAV and CardDAV services running on your Mac servers, you can back up to those.
    Honestly, SyncServices was a mess. Flakey and unreliable. One of the reasons it was killed off in favor of a standards based solution.
    Some people are whining and crying about 'privacy'. The primary argument seeming to be that the NSA will steal your data.... Like they don't already have it. LOL It's a freakin phone... your carrier already has records of everyplace it goes, everyone it calls and gets calls from, and every message ever sent. Even if the NSA has all of that, the likelyhood that anyone is going to get pinched for anything is so remote it's laughable... Unless you make lots of calls to Iran, that is.
