Question about block viewer software

Hi,
please tell me have anybody used terlingua The Block Viewer for Oracle?
I have tried to get key to use demo of this software, but nobody replay.
I know about bbed.
Best regards.

If you know about BBED and how to use it, I don't think you should spend time on this product since no one is better capable than oracle itself to tell you how their blocks work and how to deal with the internal stuff. I am not sure about the views that these guys are mentioning in their pdf but I am not very convinced that I can think of spending time over this software.
Stik with BBEd and other commands from Oracle to deal and work with its internal strucutres IMO!

  • Misc. questions about Oracles SOA software

    Hello,
    I am a computer science student at the Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany and i'm writing my master thesis about serviceoriented architectures.
    Amongst other products i plan to present what oracle has to offer for SOA. But i'm missing some information, which i couldn't find at the website. I hope somebody can help me with my questions:
    1) Is it correct that you only need the Application Server and the SOA Suite for a basic SOA setup? And the SOA Suite is included in the Enterprise Edition of the Application Server?
    2) The SOA Suite contains the BPEL Process Manager. I just want to know which version of BPEL this tool supports: BPEL4WS 1.0, 1.1, WS-BPEL (2.0)?
    3) In my thesis i describe several standards that help with serviceoriented architectures. I want to check if these standards are implemented and if they are, in which product, which version and how extensively? These standards are:
    - WS-Policy, WS-Adressing
    - JBI (Java Business Integration)
    - SCA/SDO (Service Component Architecture/Service Data Objects)
    - WS-CDL (Web Service Choreography Description Language)
    Are there other important (open) standards i didn't mention (other than the real basic stuff, WSDL, SOAP etc)?
    4) What tools does Oracle provide for testing the services and processes?
    5) What support does Oracle provide for new customers, that are building their first SOA?
    Every help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Question about Oracle Client Software

    Hi!
    I'm going to develop a software which will access an Oracle Database somewhere on the network. This software will be developed using C++ language and will run on a Linux RedHat 7.3 machine.
    Searching for APIs to connect with Oracle Database, I found OCI and OCCI, which I think will do this job. Also, in another thread in this group, I found that I have to install Oracle Client Software on the machine which will run my software. Then I came into a question: is it possible to install Oracle Client Software alone in a machine, I mean, without the entire database? If yes, how about the licenses? Do I have to have a Oracle Client License for each machine running my software or is it free for Linux?
    Thanks in advance,

    Is there a different client that includes the Oracle Net software as stated in the OBE ? if so, where is it ?Before V11 Oracle used to package a "Client CD" & it appears it is no longer available.

  • Question about using views in joins

    I have a question that is related to views. When a view is joined with another table, how does Oracle internally handle it? Does it create a temporary table that contains the resultant rows of the view and join that temorary table to the other table or does it use the view's SQL and embed it into the join condition?
    Thanks.

    No oracle do not create temporary table to joining table and views.There no difference joining just table<=>table and table<=>view.There is important join condition,and oracle will join these table and view according these conditions.

    Hi NightWing,

    Who said it? .. However it can easily be answered with Snapper by Tanel Poder.

  • Questions about updateable views

    Greetings,
    Some problems which I experienced with Delphi + Crlab ODAC + Oracle DB 10g Express and complex (joined tables) updateable views.
    1. Required field (NOT NULL) in a joined table remains required in the view. My data access components read the meta information and throw error, when nothing (NULL) is put into that field. If something different than NULL is put though, the DB throws error because this is attempt to update multiple tables. That functionality may be disabled
    in the data access components, resulting not that clean and easy to maintain exception
    handling code.
    2. CONSTRAINTS problem. It seems that any constraints on VIEW cannot be applied.
    In the original table. I had UNIQUE field, and I placed UNIQUE DISABLED NOVALIDATE
    in the view as constraint to that field in the view. It didn't prevent me to put several
    rows with the same value in that field, which appeared in the original table.
    It would be perfect if I could somehow manipulate the view meta information so my application can work with it as it was the original table (well, the original table with several read-only columns more). Is that possible in Oracle DB?

    Hi.
    For this part
    "..the DB throws error because this is attempt to update multiple tables"
    You may want to write an Instead-of-trigger
    Regards
    Peter

  • Question about deploying files/software correctly

    I want to copy some scripts to a specific directory on all the Macs in my enterprise with ARD. The problem I have is how to do this the best way without having to schedule the job to repeat which will re-copy the files to the whole list of computers again.
    Is there a way that when one computer successfully gets the files, it will be removed from the scheduled task list in ARD... so the next time the task runs, will only run on the machines that don't have it? This would also then show me which computers are not getting the files.
    Thank you,
    Ken

    I've occasionally made it at a point to have utterly complete computer lists. I'd then duplicate lists to a consolidated list named "needs X" and remove machines as they succeed, but I really have to watch my step for mistakes. We were also using a non-ard, home-grown, "auto update on boot" shell script, but it was never updated for 10.5.
    This is probably the least-cool thing I've posted in a technical forum but right now I both recommend, and am utterly reliant upon, my current "deployed software version control system," the humble pen and paper checklist.

  • Question about a view I created to fix the performance issues

    Dear alll;
    I have this interesting problem. I created a view to help solve certain performance issue I have been having with my query
    see view below
    create or replace view view_test as
    Select trunc(c.close_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD') as close_date, t.names
    from tbl_component c, tbl_joborder t
    where c.t_id = t.p_id
    and c.type = 'C'
    group by trunc(c.close_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD'), t.names
    ;and I tried testing the view out by using the following syntax and I am getting the following errors
    select k.close_date, k.names from view_test k
    where k.names = 'Kay'
    and k.close_date between to_date('2010-01-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD') and to_date('2010-12-31', 'YYYY-MM-DD')however, I am getting the error messages below
    ora-o1898: too many precision specifiersI have googled it and tried a lot of stuff online but I cant fix the problem unfortunately and I dont know why.

    Hi,
    Instead of
    trunc(c.close_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')say
    trunc (c.close_date, 'DD')Oracle apparantly gets confused by saying you want to truncate (or round) to two or more different units.
    If it were up to me, I would allow it, since truncatng to the year implies truncating to the month and to the day (not to mention hours, minutes and seconds), but there may be reasons why that would be a pain to implement. (Maybe because there are units, such as 'WW' and 'IW', that are not neat sub-divisions of larger units.)

  • Question about returning optional software

    i bought restore cds with a new laptop for 100 dollars extra, but i found out when i unboxed my new laptop that the restore cds are really nessecary, is it possible to return the cds and keep the laptop?

    A majority of computers sold today have a special part of the hard drive set aside for recovery, to keep costs somewhat down. However creation of these discs is like an insurance policy.
    However according to here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Topics/Returning-Online-Purchases/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260...
    Geek Squad services which have already been completed are non refundable / returnable.
    However if you have a complaint about the service you had performed at a local Best Buy store, you can tell the Geek Squad about it here: http://www.geeksquad.com/contact.aspx

    Toshiba Satellite A660 came with preinstalled Toshiba recovery software I just wana know if i delete windows will this backup have windows and all the software with it or im i only backing up the software installed and not the operating system.
    thanks guys

    Yes this back up will have windows plus software it came with. Make sure you make the DVDs thought before deleting windows. If you delete the MBR toshiba restore wont work unless you have the recovery DVDs.Better yet if you make a USB recovery backup.
    If you have qestions you can ask.

  • I have a question about the new software "Mavericks."

    I have a 2009 macbook pro. I am interested in downloading the Mavericks software, but I only have 4 GB of RAM. Will it work efficiently on that, or will it be too slow, and I need to buy more RAM. How much would it cost me to buy 8 GB of RAM at the apple store?

    If you can run your current system (Mountain Lion) on 4 GB RAM, then it'll work on Mavericks as well. Having said that, I've found that things are far more snappy with 8 GB.
    If you choose to upgrade to 8 GB, do not buy it at the Apple store; two most recommended RAM vendors are OWC (macsales.com) and Crucial. Both have lifetime warranties and OWC has excellent install videos. They also test the RAM on Macs and guarantee it to work. I would not buy RAM anywhere else.

  • Question about 1st iTouch Software Upgrade - Will it delete everything?

    I have a first generation itouch and want to upgrade the software to 3.1.3 so I can add apps but when i click the upgrade button it tells me that the upgrade will delete all my media including items purchased on itunes. Does that mean it is going to completely erase my iTouch music/movies..etc? I manage my synchs manually because i have music on there from my friend's iTunes library, i dont want to loose all that media...HELP!

    You can only really sync to one library but, as you are doing you can manage music with more than one computer. When you update on your syncing computer it will restore the contents with those on that computer. The music from other computer's library will be deleted. Sorry.

  • A question about blocking IO

    This sample code doesn't work. One thread waits for user input, and I was hoping to have another thread interrupt the first thread so that it would stop waiting for user input and continue processing. I think the problem is that the readLine() method in BufferedReader synchronizes on the reader's lock object. close() also synchronizes on the lock object, which creates a sort of deadlock that can only be resolved by pressing enter on the keyboard.
    This seems like a common situation, so I'm guessing it has a simple answer that just hasn't occurred to me yet.
    import java.io.*;
    public class testMain extends Thread
         BufferedReader m_in;
         public static void main(String[] args)
              new testMain();
         testMain()
              start();
              try {
                   m_in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
                   System.out.println("reading");
                   String stuff = m_in.readLine();
              catch (IOException ex) {
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              finally {
                   System.out.println("read done");
         public void run()
              try {
                   Thread.sleep(1000);
                   System.out.println("closing");
                   m_in.close();
              catch (Exception ex) {
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              finally {
                   System.out.println("close done");
    }

    If I were you I would not put the main logic in the
    constructor. That just seems like a problem waiting
    to happen.
    Why don't you try making a method that you call after
    constructing the object, that does the work you're
    currently doing in it?It was just for illustration. But if you'd rather...
    import java.io.*;
    public class testMain extends Thread
         BufferedReader m_in;
         public static void main(String[] args)
              new testMain().workDamnYou();
         testMain()
              m_in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
         private void workDamnYou()
              start();
              try {
                   System.out.println("reading");
                   String stuff = m_in.readLine();
              catch (IOException ex) {
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              finally {
                   System.out.println("read done");
         public void run()
              try {
                   Thread.sleep(1000);
                   System.out.println("closing");
                   m_in.close();
              catch (Exception ex) {
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              finally {
                   System.out.println("close done");
    }Better code. Same result.
