Question about Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects

Hello guys! I'm kind of new to both after effects and cinema but I was wondering if I made a project on cinema, can |I transfer it to after effects and add it to a video?

Technically, I want to do this kind of claw animation and zoom into my adobe title.
Even better is if theres anyway of replicating this kind of animation in adobe after effects. If this can be done it would be appreciated if you could tell me how!

Enough power for FCP 5 and Adobe After Effects?

I have a 1.67GHz 17" PowerBook G4 with 2 GB RAM and ATI Radeon 9700. I am working with FCP 4.5 but plan on upgrading to FCP 5 and also beginning Adobe After Effects.
Question: Do I have enough power with my G4 to handle these newer apps?

I recently installed FCP 5, as a crossgrade from Soundtrack Pro, and have a similar configuration as you. In the video work I've done so far, editing has worked fine, no constraints from the system I'd point out. Rendering, using Compressor, or exporting an FCP project to Quicktime movie can take awhile, depending on the time length of the project, however, that's somewhat the nature of the process. Since those processes are CPU constrained, a MacPro, for example, would complete them much quicker.

Black magic and Adobe After effect cs6 Ram Preview not real time

I'm on a MAC PRO with the OS 10.6.8 and 8Go Ram, the problem is when i turn on my preview video on the Blackmagic the video monitor is not in real time and the after effect is so slow. When i put it off (computer monitor only) it's ok but i havn't my video monitor of course....and i need it. Is there some tricks for having my black magic (1080 i 50) ON and a RAM Preview in real time ??? ! My drivers Black magic is the 9.5.3 it's the highest driver for MAC OS 10.6.8 + ADOBE CS6+ FCP7. Thanks for the read. ( i tried update adobe, change qt library, change aspect ratio, pixel, preview ram settings, change drivers black magic and other but nothing work )

What is the color bit depth of your project? (8, 16 or 32?) Have you changed that recently, or have you changed the frame rate or frame size of your comp?
Performance with video preview to an external monitor is almost always related to the pure bandwidth requirements of the frames you're sending to it. If the frames require more memory, it may be slower. Frame size, frame rate, and color bit depth all affect the memory requirements of the frames.
If none of those parameters has changed, troubleshoot the general performance of your machine. If there are other processes (look in Activity Monitor) that are using significant processor and/or memory resources, they may be causing a bottleneck for the frames getting out.

Red Rocket X and Adobe After Effects. Benefit?

I am attempting to utilize a Red Rocket X card with After Effects and have yet to see any difference when doing RAM preview.
Is there a benefit with RRX and After Effects? If so, where does it help?

The Red Rocket X accelerates decoding and compressing of RED files. According to posts on their forum, After Effects is not designed to take advantage of this process as well as Premiere Pro, and so the advantage is measurable, but not huge. They suggest that I/O speeds are about twice as fast in After Effects with a Red Rocket X. But file I/O is often only a small part of AE's render speed. So if, for example, your normal system can read 1 frame of RED 4K footage in a second, it will read it in about half a second with a Red Rocket X card. Across a 1000 frame render, that'll save you 500 seconds (8 minutes).
These are all very general guesstimates, but a vague guideline. The reality is that the card won't make a dramatic difference to After Effects, but will in Premiere Pro.

Font Compatibility between FCP and Adobe After Effects

Hello.
I've got an issue with my fonts...
I've got 4 places where I can put them (Library/Fonts ; System/Library/Fonts ; Users/Library/Fonts ; Network/Library/Fonts (a network Library I made working with a SAN)).
I've got at least 4 kind of fonts (DFONT:Datafork TrueType font ; FFIL:Font Suitcase ; OTF:OpenType font ; TTF:Windows TrueType font).
I'm working with networked home directories.
My question is : What I have got to use for my fonts been recognised In both Final Cut Pro and After Effects (Adobe software in general).
With all of my 4 folders I've got about 100 fonts. In FCP an AFX I can see about 35 fonts and only 27 in common. This 27 are in differents folder and are different type.
I'm getting mad.

Of course I should, but the shared Library is made for "I put a font in one place and it can be used by anyone of my network".
It doesn't matter, I found the answer myself. The TTF one works, but the name isn't the same : In Apple world, the font got the font's file's name, in Adobe's world, the font got the font's family's name + font's style (like bold) (and both can't be change...)

FCP and Adobe After Effects pro 7

How can I install the plugins of effects from "After Effects" in FCP ? It exists a file : library/Application support/amsn/plugin.
I have installed the plugins in this file but i don't see anything in the "effects" in FCP.
Is that the right way ?

AE specific plug ins distributed by Adobe with the app do not work.
Some third party plug in do work.
If they are using 5.1.2 on a Mac Intel, do not use AE plug ins.

Questions about a laptop and adobe.

I just purchased a dell xps m1330 from dell, even though i know that isnt a brand new model, but that also gave me a chance to add the features I wanted and still stay undermy budget.

This wont be my main editing and design computer since I have a beefy desktop for that. But there will be some light editing and photoshop use done from to time, so I was wondering what you guys think, if you recommend another laptop for around the same budget since Im still in the window to return/exchange it(that came out to almost exactly 1000 with my discount) also it will be running vista, so if you guys have any recommendations to help adobe suite run better or well on vista, and just to let you guys know I did NOT get the graphic card with it since I read online that I wont really need it for my needs.

A new question about the x and y after the addChild

when i addChild an object to the stage the x and y placement
of that object is always diff from the ones people display in
tutorial.
nowhere in their code or mine did i define the x or y yet....
so how is it that there placement of when they add the object
onto the stage is diff then mine???

I agree and did always think its 0,0 ..............
but when i did the tutorial and loaded the movie the card
lets say was like ot the 0,0 ............
BUT the tutorials displays like somewhere i'd say 100,100 or
50,50 ...............eitherway its not like mine at 0,0 ...
so unless i not seeing something but i am sure as i looked at
his code and I THINK its the one i showed you too ...
remove some of the codes and leave the card only and the
memory addchild code. Then see where the card loads up to
Eitherways i agree it is always to me at 0,0

I use adobe after effects and I am thinking about deleting motion and compressor ( I can always install again). If you have a good reason to keep those apps let me know because I don't want to be hasty. If I delete them and stick with after effects and final cut pro... Is there a secret to easy working between FCPX and adobe after effects?

You'll go from FCP X to and from Motion a lot easier than AE. Motion does pretty much anything AE does, most of the time faster and easier. Without Motion, you can't do custom templates. You can't customize the encoding of files without Compressor. Why would you want to remove them from your system? Leave them, use AE if you want along side of them. But I'd learn Motion first. Cause AE doesn't read FCPXML, so going back and forth between them is a PITA.

Adobe After Effects CS3 does not work on my new iMac

Hello everyone,
I recently bought myself a new iMac and Adobe After Effects CS3, and guess what, the stuff does not work. I've tried almost everything, been on a lot of forums but can't seem to find any solution. One thing that keeps coming back is that it has to do with the Geforce 8800 GT in my iMac, some kind of compatibility problem between both.
The problem is this, whenever I start AE CS3, a window pops up, stating "Out of Memory ( 23 :: 40 )".
And then something about licensing, but I guess I can skip that window, since that clearly has nothing to do with the problem.
Are there some beta drivers or something for my videocard that I can download somewhere to maybe get rid of this problem?

I have noticed LOTS of people are thinking about, Motion vs After Effects. I personally think it is Apple's intention to eventually exceed AE's abilities. Right now however, I find that 'round trip' thang between FCP and Motion awfully nice, no need for a go-between piece of software like Automatic Duck.
Anyway, in sorting thru my own AE vs Motion quandry I stumbled upon the following overview, which proved insightful - While it's now a bit dated, I found it helpful - Do consider, Motion does some compositing now and I think we'll see it do a lot more in future releases.

Adobe Premiere & Adobe After Effects compatibility

I am trying to understand how to work with Adobe premiere cs4 and work with After Effects. I am fixing some clips on after effects. My idea is to export them into adobe premiere once I am done. The after effects composition is 29 frames and ntsc dv presets at the composition settings by default.
My adobe premiere project is 1280 x 720 25 fps
How can I find if it is compatible with my adobe premiere project I am working on? To be honest, I am learning how to use this software.
Here are my questions:
Should I change the adobe after effects composition to 1280x 720?
My original footage is HD but I think I can not edit in HD with adobe premiere cs4. This is why I chose 1280 x 720. Am I correct? IF there is a way to export the video in hd, which settings should I choose?
Is there any link or post where you explain the advantages and main uses of the different settings available ( HDV 720/ 25 or many others available...) I don´t know which one I should pick up.

Yes you can. How CS4 handles the footage depends on your machine and what kind of footage it is.
CS4 does not handle H.264 in a mov wrapper very well (dslr-footage).

Questions about Adobe After Effects CS5 and CS5.5

I have the Adobe Design Creative Suite CS5 (Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, Flash CS5, Dreamweaver CS5, InDesign CS5, and Fireworks CS5) and was going to order an old copy of After Effects CS5 for my iMac. However when I was about to order on an online store, I notice that there is a CS5 and a CS5.5 version for After Effects. I would like to know which version is better and if I get Adobe After Effects CS5.5 version will I be able to intergrate with CS5 versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash?
Alos is there a way for to order a copy of Adobe After Effects CS5(or CS5.5 version) on the Adobe online store? I don't want to order the CS6 version of After Effects because I'm afraid I will not be able to intergrate it with my CS5 versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash.

You should get After Effects CS6. There is no reason to be concerned about using After Effects Effects CS6 with Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop CS5.
