Question about Copying an MSS iViews from Migrated Business Package

I have copied the iViews from the MSS migrated content and placed in my own folder. I then changed some of the properties on the copied iViews. I assigned my copies to a role. The problem is that the iViews, when ran in the portal, are still using the properties on the original iViews which I copied instead. What have I missed? Is there some settings I need to change after copying an iView?

I recopied the iViews and they seemed to work correctly after that. Portal iView copying is a bit buggy.

Change iviews installed from a business package

Hi experts,
I'm working on EP 2004s and I would like to know if there is a way to change iviews installed in the portal from a business package using Visual Composer. Can I copy them into my own created package in VC?

Hi,
Usually Business Package iviews - especially the older ones - aren't based on Visual composer models but rather older IView technology. Therefore, it should be impossible to change them in VC.
I've heard that SAP may be considering releasing business packages (XSS?) as VC models but never heard any confirmation regrading this. Probbaly based on the support-related questions. I once blogged on this <a href="/people/community.user/blog/2007/01/30/enterprise-soa-explorations-fragments.

Question About Copying Tracks From a CD Into iTunes

Newbie here.
I currenly have about 700 songs on my Ipod Touch. (I put them on there from several old CD's I have of Napster tunes which I obtained when Napster was, well, you know . . . let's just say I donwloaded these tunes a long, long time ago.)
Anyway - so now I want to load a commercial CD onto my Ipod. "Spamalot," as a matter of fact. I put the CD into my computer, open up iTunes and press the magic button to import all of the tracks from the CD into iTunes. And it does it, very quickly, as a matter of fact.
The only problem is that all of the songs on the CD (25 of them) are scattered throughout the 700 songs already in my library. I have to spend way too much time hunting them down and schlepping them into my newly created Spamalot playlist.
Surely there is a better way to do this. I would think that I should be able to create a playlist and then load all of the songs from any CD directly into the playlist.
How do you do that?

What I would like to do is (1) create a playlist and then (2) copy or import tunes from a CD directly into the playlist I have just created.
From what I am hearing, I don't think that can be done. From what I am hearing here, you must first import the tunes into your iTunes general music library and THEN move them into a playlist.
no you can't do it directly, music must be imported into the library first, then copied into the playlist. i'm not sure why you would need to - sure it would save part of the work if you could do it all at the same time, but it's not exactly difficult to import, then create a playlist.
you could create the playlist before you import and add the tracks in as they are importing, but that's not much easier than creating it afterwards.
HOWEVER
Have you considered my 'Smart Playlist' suggestion? I think this will do what you want. Smart Playlists update automatically to coincide with any relevant changes in the itunes library. If you create a Smart Playlist with the album title, as tracks that have that album title are imported into itunes, they will automatically go into the Smart Playlist.

Follow-up on question about copying 10.4

I only got one reply to my question about how to copy OS 10.4 from one internal drive to another and unfortunately, the response was cut short. Something about if I had another computer with Firewire, using it and that's as far as the response went. Yes, I have a laptop and have Firewire, but still don't know how to use it to help.

If you just wish to make a duplicate of one hard drive to another hard drive in the same G5, then do this:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the second internal drive. Source means the internal startup drive.

- What are the main business issues regarding VAT on sales and purchase?
- What is the point to have a calculation procedure (T. OBYZ) regarding to business? A tax code would not have been enough?

<b>Every tax code is linked to country which in turn is linked to the taxation procedure. Calcualtion contains list of condition types and each condition types have set of configuration how the values are calculated. The condtion type in turn is linked to access sequence which basically tells how the files are being accessed.
Calculation procedures containing the necessary specifications for the calculation and posting of taxes on sales/purchases have already been defined in the standard SAP system for certain countries. Every calculation procedure groups several tax types together into a condition type (for example, output tax or input tax) in the calculation procedure, and determines calculation rules for it.
The calculation procedure determines for which amount the individual condition types are to be calculated. This can be the base amount (total of the expense items and the revenue items) or a subtotal. The entry in column FrmLvl, determines for which amount tax is calculated.</b>

Setting up iViews from Cognos business Pagkabe

Hi,
Has anyone successfully set up the iView "Cognos Viewer" from the Cognos Business Package.
I need the iView to display a specific Cognos Report in ReportNet. So far I have not been able to locate any documentation on how to set the properties to do so.
The iView "Cognos Search" and "Cognos Navigator" work fine.

Team Viewer is missing from the Business Package

We are using ESS And MSS Business Package for ERP 2004 - But it seems that Team Viewer is missing.
I understand it is part of an older version of Business Packager.
But how can we implement it for BP for ERP 2004?

It's not in the BP for MSS for ECC5. You have to do a blended BP approach. You will need to install the earlier BP as well and then customize your MSS role to include the My Staff portions you need (like the Employee information screen that uses the Team Viewer). This is due to the fact that not all services had been ported over to WebDynpro for Java as of the ECC5 business package. There are SEVERAL other posts in here about doing it this way. Hope this helps.

Empty iViews in PLM Business Packages (Enter Asset, Enter Project etc)

We are implementing SAP PLM Business Packages 50.3.1 in SAP EP 6.0 SP16 with a SAP 4.7 backend.
We have noticed that certain iViews do not seem to work correctly - they display no entry fields at all. For instance, in the Assets Business Package, the Asset Details Page contains a Choose Asset iView in which you can choose either Functional Location or Equipment. When choosing either of these, the Enter Asset iView should refresh and display the appropriate entry field. ie. either 'Enter Functional Location' or 'Enter Equipment'. Instead, it displays absolutely nothing (ie. the Enter Asset iView remains blank). This problem also occurs for projects in the Projects business package.
Has anybody seen and resolved this behaviour for the PLM business packages?
Any useful thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

Thanks for the responses. Thanks to your input, I have solved the problem. Basically, we are working on copied versions of the pages and iViews (ie. copied into our custom folder in PCD). Our users do not have access to the original SAP iViews.
I noticed (after reading the documentation page 116 which you referenced), that for our copy of the component loader, the parameter Java_IView_Directory was still pointing to the standard SAP location, which our users have no access to. This explains why the iViews are blank. When I amend this parameter to point to our custom location, everything works!

LaunchPad Iview for various Business Packages

Hi,
I have installed Business Package for Common Parts. In this I can see LaunchPad Iview. I then installed Business Package for Business Unit Analyst
I run the Analytics Iview which refers to LaunchPad Iview.
However it does not work. I refferred to the webdynpro application to which it was pointing.
This was webdynpro:java/sap.com/mss~lpa/com.sap.xss.fin.lpa.reportlaunchpad.ReportLaunchpadPcdApp/base
But I dont find this webdynpro application at all.
Do I have to install any particular component .

We are still encountering the same problem, and have logged a message with SAP. We have implemented single sign-on and increased the maximum possible jco connections, but this does not appear to have fixed it.

Modification of ABAP Web DynPro iViews delivered via Business Packages

Hello Everyone,
If this has been answered before, I apologize.
Is there any 'supported' way ( or 'unsupported' ) to modify the out of the box ABAP WebDynPro iViews which are delivered via some of the new Business Packages for ECC 6.0?
For example, I want to hide some fields on the 'Create Order' iView delivered in the Business Package for Internal Sale Representative..

These Business Packages are just iView definitions that point to normal Web Dynpro ABAP components/applications that reside on the backend ABAP system. They can be enhnaced like any other WDA application.

Unable to open Document from Asset Business Package

We have installed Asset Business Package in portal. Almost everything is working fine. But when we try to open a document (PDF ) attached to an asset by clicking the document link in the page, a new browser window opens with a text inside. The PDF does not appear.
The text is actually a URL. If we copy this and paste in any browser window, it opens the actual document.
e.g. when we click the document link, the browser opens with the following text written inside it -

Personal Information iViews missing in Business Package for E.S.S.

Hi all,
we have imported the business package for Employee Self-Service (ERP2005, Release 1.0 for nw2004s) in our portal. The iViews for the application 'Personal Information' (like 'Address', 'Bank Information',...) are language dependent and in the portal content all languages are visible -except Finland. According to the online documentation it should be there but it isn't.
Does anyone know why it is missing??

The personal information Iview has Personal data, address, Familymemebers/dependents, and bank details serivces. So you have to configure the corresponding infotypes 0002, 0006, 0021, 0009 and their subtypes in the IMG activity under "employee-selfservice. Sorry, I cannot give the exact path,coz I am not infront of the SAP system now.

We have deployed the ESS/MSS Business Package . The issue is that we have to make some changes in the applications which have been deployed alongwith the business package.Since the business package was provided by SAP , we do not have the Webdynpro DC for the same.
Can Experts please tell me the easiest & legal way to retrieve the webdynpro piece of code so we can make the required changes?

InfoPath web forms from sharepoint 365 submission - question about copying senders on submit

I have set up a few InfoPath web forms. I tested including an email field when the submit is processed it will also send a copy to the email address entered in that field. I am just seeing if there are any options available for the user to

As I understand, you want to know the attachment sent with the InfoPath form email can be saved as other file types.
The attachment sent with the InfoPath form email will stored as XML files.
If there is no InfoPath installed, we can export the XML data to Excel, Access or PDF.
