Question about data migration from one company to new without transactions

Dear All,
My company is using SAP B1 2005B. I would like to create new company which is based on existing one, including all configuration, chart of A/C and BP records and so on. May I know how to do it?

I tried it and i got the runtime error with "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
When I tried a part of options, that is no problem at all. However, when i select all options, the memory usage is increase and then the error will be returned.
The server is Win2003 with 4GB memory.

Using Migration Assistant to Move Data Files from one Account to New User

Is it possible or recommended to use Migration Assistant to move data files from an old user account to a new user account on the same volume/hard disk?

Migration Assitant cannot be used as a simple file transfer utility. MA can transfer an entire Home folder or entire Users folder but not individual files.
In general files in one user account cannot be moved to another user account as this would violate built-in security measures.
What you can do is to copy the files to an external device like a hard drive or flash drive. First log in to the old account. Then configure the drive to ignore preferences by Pressing COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and check the Ignore permissions on this volume checkbox at the bottom of the window. Copy your files to the device. Log into the new account. Verify the external drive is still configured to ignore permissions (reset it, if not.) Copy the files from the external device into the Home folder of the new account. I would create a temporary folder for these files. If you still end up without the proper permissions you will need to make modifications that are easier done if all the files are in a single folder.

Data Migration from one division to another division

Hi,
I am in service industry project where unbiiled/unearned/revenue accounts gets hit through SD.
Now due to restructuring one division is splitting into 3 division.So we need to migrate the data from that one division into new 3 division for which we have a identifier.
The actual problem is different reconcilliation accoount is mapped to each division.So how to move the open items of old division in to 3 new division means unbilled/unearned rev.

Simple answer - no.
More complex answer - LabVIEW is just like any other programming
language when it comes to data collection frequency. The
frequency (intermittent, continuous, timed, etc.) depends upon the
analysis you are attempting. To do power spectra or display
waveforms, all you need is one set of data at a time. The data
does not have to be continuous. There are classes of problems
which require continuous data. If you are trying to address them,
you will need to have this mode of operation available. Most NI
input boards offer both modes - continuous and intermittent, with
intermittent being the most used, by far.
Note that with proper buffering, both modes end up being about the
same. Whether your buffer resides on the card (preferred, is more
robust, data transfer timing is not so critical) or in the computer
main RAM, the LabVIEW side of things will always take a single set of
data at once. Admittedly, this data set can be one point at a
time, but you really don't want the overhead of that in LabVIEW (or any
other higher level function - should be in your driver).

I like to buy data recovery software for windows server to recover data with any raid( or whitout raid
so the company tells me you should be sure the Raid can be recognized correctly as local disk drive first, otherwise, our product wil not help you. so if I want to recover data of my customers which has windows server with any raid form ,how
I can make this server harddisks(which is raid 1,5,6 ect)recognized coorectly as local disk drive.

I have myself NAS which is connected to my computer through router.
I am started smal bussines ,and I want to use also data recovery service for deleted documents,photo's,formatted drives ect.for my customers .things that accidantally errased from raid or non raid
so I found some data recovery softwares
1-stellarphoenix data recover,which has remote acces and netwerk acces.
2--ease use data recovery software. I liked this second software,but they telling me like this,
you should be sure the Raid can be recognized correctly as local disk drive first, otherwise, our product wil not help you.

but my question is can I not run data recovery software from bootable usb stick on the smal servers like essential with raid to recover data in case of any problems that caused data loose.
I know if I install data recovery software on the server to scan it ,it wil rewrite some places on harddisk and that is not wise.

Question about data extraction from web forms

I am developing a simple web form in DreamWeaver MX for
increased accesibility for users who utilize screen reader
software, as navigating PDF forms is still currently very difficult
for most of the screen readers to navigate. I was wondering if
there is a way to take an .asp webform that a user fills out and
when they hit a print button it would extract the data from the
form and open an Adobe PDF form and populate the data they entered
into specific fields within the PDF form which would allow them to
print an official copy of the form they used the web version to
complete. Any insight into this possibility is greatly appreciated!

Data migration from one DEV(DE1) system to other DEV(DE2) BW system using client copy or client export import

HI SAP Gurus,
Please find the below details:
SAP NetWeaver 7.3
We have to copy all customized or developed BW objects like master data, DSO's , Infocubes , Reports etc.
We need only the design changes but not the data within the DSO or cubes that exist .
We have tried below procedure:
1) Taken export of DE1 source client 400 with profile SAP_CUST
2) Imported transports generated for above export into DE2 target client 350.
3) Executed transaction SCC3 and performed post processing, post processing was successful . Still we are not able to see DSO's, infocubes ,reports.
Please lets us know what we need to do to fulfill our requirement.

BI systems has mostly cross client objects. So client copy with SAP_CUST profile will not serve your purpose.

Question about changing zonepath from one mount point to another

Hi all
A local zone is currently running with its zonepath, say /export/home/myzone, mounted on a Veritas volume. Is it possible to change the zonepath to a different mount point, say /zone/myzone, which is mounted on the same volume, without re-installing the entire zone?

Yes..
U can use zonecfg to reconfigure the zone..
which is Sun's supported way..
I just usually edit /zones/zone-name.xml
There are several ways to move a zone, but this has
always worked for me..
- stop the zone
- tar the zone
- move the zone
- edit the /etc/zones/zone-name.xml (to reflect the new path)
- detach the zone
- attach the zone (so it regnerates the hash)
- boot the zone

Data migration from rescued drive to new internal drive

Need assistance! I recently experienced a hard drive failure on my MacBook (OS 10.5). Apple replaced my hard drive with a new one (running 10.6), and a data recovery company was able to resuce the data from my failed drive; they put it all on an external drive. I then used migration assistant to get my old data back onto the new drive. The problem is that my old home folder was encrypted with File Vault, so that data would not transfer -- i.e., my photos, music, bookmarks, old emails, etc.
I've tried booting up from the external drive, but no dice. The laptop sees the drive and looks like it attempts to start up from it, but it just keeps spinning. Are there any other tricks to access my old home folder in order to turn off File Vault so that I may transfer that data onto my new hard drive?

Data Migration from 4.7 to ECC 6.0

Dear Friends,
We are doing upgration from sap4.7 to ECC6.0.
We have activated new gl. We have configured all ecc6.0 functionality.
But we stuck on data migration from classic gl to new gl.
We want to activate the migration cockpit but system is asking license key.
My question is, which license key it is?
From where we will get this?
Kindly don't send me any links and any documents related to ecc6 functionality.

Migrate/Copy Contract details from one company code to another

We are planning to migrate/copy some contracts from one company code to another.
I've read a related post regarding this, but I would like to know more about the steps on how to do it and if it is possible also to copy the conracts' present contract numbers and other contract details to the new company code.

you can use BAPIs in RE-FX.
1. BAPI_RE_CN_GET_DETAIL to read the contract data
2. Change the data according to your requirements
For example it may be necessary to change the adjustment parameters ..
3. BAPI_RE_CN_CREATE to create the contracts in the new company code
If you want to have the same contract number you would have to switch to external numbering in the new company code.

If we want to migrate from one MV server + database to another one - is it possible to automatically export/import map cache definitions (MDSYS.SDO_CACHED_MAPS_TABLE)? and MDSYS.SDO_GEOM_METADATA_TABLE ? - this metadata table imports only references to tables using imp/exp.exe tools but not references to views

You are correct that the migration tool will copy security where manually won't as for fariables, that should not be a problem either way.
The unicode file utility is supposed to convert lots of things including outlines and load rules. It can be used to convert locale. Below are the options and an example of changing the locale
Options:
-a List all the supported locales
-b Create a backup file (.bak) for each modified file
-c Convert each specified text file without a UTF-8 signature to UTF-8, stripping off any
existing locale indicator and adding a UTF-8 signature
-d Delete any locale indicator from each specified text, rule, or outline file
(Does not delete UTF-8 signatures)
-e Display the encoding of each specifed text, rule or outline file
-h Display this text
-i Add a locale indicator to any specified non-Unicode text, rules, or outline file
-l Use the specified locale for any conversion or labeling (ESSLANG is the default)
-q Operate quietly
-s Add a UTF-8 signature to any specifed text file that does not have a UTF-8 signature or a locale indicator
The -c, -d, -i, and -s options may not be used in combination. The remaining
options may be used in combination with these options or in combination with
each other.
First delete the existing locale
essutf8 -d myfile1.txt myfile2.rul
Delete any locale indicator from myfile1.tst and myfile2.rul. Does not delete UTF-8 signatures.
then add the new one
essutf8 -i myrule.rul
Add the ESSLANG locale indicator to myrule.rul if myrule.rul does not have a locale indicator or a UTF-8 signature.
