Question about Export in html-format

Hi all,
<p>
using Discoverer Plus - 9.0.2.54.01 here. I've tried to create an external link in a column (calculation), f.e. &lt;a href="http://blablabla"&gt;Show Picture &lt;/a&gt;.
<p>
While exporting the exporter(reports) just masks the brackets (<,>) as lt; or &gt;. So the User is not able to click the links.
<p>
I don't see a solution. Do you have any hints for me. That would be nice.

P.S. Upgrading to Disco10g is not an option ;-)

Hi Carsten
Well you can set the content type on any field you wish but it will only work on fields that contain pointers and file names. Thus you cannot have a calculation that works out the filename, but you can create a new item in the Admin edition (aka calculation) that has the path to the file or http reference. Just make sure you don't embed any html cpde only the URL itself.
Best wishes

  • Two questions about exporting to epub format...

I have a document that I want to set up as an epub.  It is a childrens book, so I need it to do two things that it is currently not doing when I export it.
    1.  I need the text to stay on the image that it is associated with.  Is there a way to anchor the text to an image so it never leaves that image, even when the text is resizing?
    2.  There are some sound and animations that are currently available on each page.  Can those be used in epub format, because, so far, they just disappear when I export to that format?
    Thanks for your help.
    Kevin

    1. Group the text and the image and then make it an anchored object.
    2. Not sure what to do with that with CS5 but you should be aware that the use of audio and video in epub is very limited at the current time.
For Epub work you're far better off upgrading to CS5.5. In the mean time I suggest buying a copy of Liz Castro's excellent Epub Straight to the Point: http://amzn.to/rqNwkp
and checking out Anne-Marie Concepcion's videos on Lynda.com. You can get a one week free trial using this link: http://bit.ly/fcGpiI

  • Question about exporting FBL3N data in Pivot table format

    Dear all
I have a question about the "exporting file" function of ECC 6.0.
We started to use ECC 6.0 system, and it appears that we are no longer able to export "FBL3N data" to a local PC in pivot table format.
Is there a way to do it?
We used to be able to do so when the system is 4.6.
    I appreciate your support!
    Kind regards

    Dear:
You can do that. Execute report FBL3N with desired GL account in it. After when report has been executed right click on it. There will be an option Spread Sheet. Select all available format. In drill down select 08 (Excel in existing XXL format) and press OK. There you will get pivot table option for downloading., Hope this will help you resolve your query.

  • Sql developer: question about exporting data

    Hi,
we're recently working with sql-developer. i've got a question about how we can export query results to txt/csv files for use in other applications.
First a problem: if we start a query that looks like this:
    select * from
    select * from A where start_date = &date
    ) a,
    select * from B where start_date = &date
    ) b
    where a.name = b.name
Sql-developer asks twice to input a value for the variable 'date', although it's the same variable and it's supposed to have the same value.
We solve this by making a script:
first we define the variable, then we put the query.
When we start the script, the query runs ok and sql developer asks to input the value for the variable once.
But now the result of the query is shown in the script output. The script output seems to be limited in number of lines and difficult to export.
So my question is: what's the best way to export query results to txt/csv files, avoiding the problem mentioned above?
i hope there is a solution where we can use a single query or script.
    Thanks in advance!

Using bind variables like ":date" should solve the problem of being asked twice for the same thing.
Executing the query normally (F9), gives you the export options you require through the context menu inside the Results grid.

    K.

  • Disc viewer  10.1.2.48.18 export in html format

    Hi,
i want to export query result on html format but i can't find this option.
    Any Help?
    Thanks in advance
    lukx

    Hello
Are you using Desktop or Plus? If you are using Plus I strongly recommend you upgrade from 10.1.2.48.12 as that is an awfully buggy version and I would not be surprised if it is doing some odd things.
10.1.2.2 and 10.1.2.3, patched appropriately to the latest cumulative patch, are much better.
I just tried on my PC in Plus on 10.1.2.3 and from the File menu is an option called Export to HTML. What this does is create an HTM file in my Documents and Settings folder and then launches another browser window to display the results.
I also tried it in Desktop and it exported an HTM file into the place where I told it to do so.

  • Questions about exporting PSDS(so as PNG, TIFF with transparency) by AI CS4 and newer

Hello, I've got this question as titled...I stll can't figure it out why.
I'm now using WIN version of AI CS6, and I've used CS4, CS5 before.
Why does AI CS4(and the newers) export transparent PSD files which are always with blank transparent thin border(about 2~3px) line in the right and down side ?
This situation hasn't happened in CS3 and CS2.
The PSD files I intended to export are about A4 size with 300 dpi, sometimes with 150dpi, in RGB/CMYK/Grayscale color modes.
If  someone as well-experienced as all you seniors can tell me the reason or even solutions i'll be very thankful to your reply.

    Thank your reply first
I totally agree with your opinion, it's really an annoying bug.
I've tried your solutions before but it's still time-comsuming to correct the with/length.
Sometimes I think the new version AI kind of rediculous because it can't export as accurate as the CS2/CS3's exporting, which should have functioned well.
On the other hand, I can also save my AI file with PDF capability and drag it into PS to rasterize, then I can get accurate PSD files.
But save AI with PDF cab. takes much time, even more when there are complex objects (or) with multiple appearance features and occasionally fails to save and get a broken AI file.

  • Yet another question about exporting and video quality

    Kind people,
I know this question has been asked many, many times, and I have searched and read up of the topic, but I would also like to ask it.
I shot my video on a Canon Vixia HF10, downloaded it to Final Cut Express to edit, exported it as Quick Time Movie, dropped it in iDVD, then played it on my TV and the quality was…..not good. The video was a little fuzzy and there were ghosts. Are there any settings I should go back and check in iDVD.
    Wolfgang

    Hi(Bonjour)!
What is the format recorded by this camera?
How did you capture/ingest your video material in FCE?
What was your sequence format in timeline?
How did you export your sequence (specify exact steps, menus and command)?
What was your iDVD project settings?
What was the iDVD quality setting?
Did you monitor your DVD on computer screen or TV set?

  • Question about converting a mac formatted ipod w/ the restore icon to pc

    Hey Guys.
    Here's a question w/ some background.
I bought an IPOD about 6 months ago and connected it to my MAC at work...where I uploaded music and etc...
I've changed jobs...have a PC at home and at my new job. Earlyer today my IPOD came up with the restore icon, and I'm thinking since I have to reinstall everything anyways...I wanna format it to PC as well as restore it so I start from scratch with my ipod blank and my home computer.
    How should I proceed?
Do I restore with a mac, then bring it to my pc? Let me know what to do.
    Thanks doodz.

I too am trying to do what Say Word is, BUT, even though I have done EVERYTHING on the list, the PC still won't recognize the ipod. The article covering "Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod" states: "You cannot use iPod for Mac with a Windows PC". So my question is -- how will I ever get the PC (using USB) to recognize a Mac formated iPod. HELP Puleeese!

  • I have a question about exporting a short movie to burn on a DVD.

Ok, it's me again.  You guys were so much help last night, that I am back for another piece of advice.  I have made a short 23 minute movie in Premiere Pro CS3, using 200 still images and some music.  I realize that this program is way more than I need, but it is on my computer along with I Photo, I DVD, and I Movie - which are great programs for the quick little thing I am doing, but you can only choose 1 Transition between each still in all three of those programs and that becomes very obnoxious.
Therefore, I used Premiere Pro CS3, but now I want to export it two times - once for a web site and once to burn it to a DVD to watch on a standard TV. Can anyone walk me through that - way, way to many choices and I tried reading the 11 pages in the user manual - it may as well been in a foreign language.
    Thanks to all.
    Michele

    Hi,
If you have encore you can use that for the DVD...encore will take care of a lot of stuff for you automatically...
What are your project settings ?  eg....  720x480 progressive, square pixels, 29.97 fps, 4:3 aspect ratio....etc.
That will have a lot to do with how you export for the web...what settings you use..
You will need to know what web based video size you want ( will it be smaller than your project (720 x480 ? )  for example?)
    Sooo, do you have encore?
Can you supply project settings and info about what you want the web video to be

  • Quick question about exporting to Flash

Is there a way to get the same quality when you export a cpv
project to Flash, as when you preview it in Captivate?
Are changes in mouse paths, sounds, and picture quality after
transferring normal? Or are they supposed to look exactly the same
    as they do in Captivate?
I'd just like to rule out one or the other.

    Hi ksonta
One would expect to see that everything survived the
export/import process in full clarity. In a perfect world, that is.
Unfortunately, Captivate doesn't yet "talk" to Flash as
cleanly as we would like. You might question this by asking "Aren't
they both Adobe products? Why not?"
And I would fundamentally agree with you in theory. But the
fact is, Adobe hasn't had either product all that long. Adobe
bought Macromedia. Macromedia had Flash. Macromedia also had
Captivate, but they bought Captivate from another company called
eHelp. Heck, even eHelp bought the product from yet another company
called Nexus Concepts. So Captivate has a long and colorful
    history.
Hopefully the next version will bring us seamless and perfect
    exporting and importing from Flash.
Currently I'm aware of an issue with Background images being
"shrunken". Maybe the export/import process has too much hot water?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Questions about exporting to full quality?

    Hey there -
I just wanted to make sure that if I want to give my friend back a DV file from the converted tape that I choose Export, then Full Quality? I know that creates one file vs individual clips but her tape was one long one, I did chapter markers for the dvd and make splits but I don't think she wants those (some are arbitrary, e.g. the tape was long than an hour so iMovie HD split it into two clips). So, I just want to be sure that that's the right choice for exporting?
And, on that, does that remove transitions or keep them?
Lastly, there is a weird screen in QuickTime in the resulting file. It's a colorblock screen of sorts - a whole punch of pixels (big TV ones, not sure what they are called) in a bunch of colors. It's happening RIGHT at the end of the footage - not thrilled about it but it is the DV file, I guess. Depending on answer to above, I may at least extend the end transition so it doesn't make future editing difficult. Any way to eliminate it from happening?
    Thanks for your help -
    Alexa

+You should be able to move the cursor frame-by-frame with the arrow keys to get to the precise 'cut' point.+
I know - it's strange but I lost a few seconds of just black screen at the end - I even went back and checked against the actual movie. At any rate, I'm slicing them off carefully and now am adding just a few seconds of still time at the end so it's not an issue.
+What exactly is it that your friends want to do with the digitized footage? I recommend that you make them a DVD of the edited movie, and then export the movie back to the camcorder so they also have a digital mini DV tape of it. This way, they can view the DVD to see their movie and show to others, but they also have a backup on tape.+
Ah, let's see - somehow I've agreed to convert a bag full of VHSC and VHS tapes (and hours and hours of my life for footage that's not even my family!) At any rate, I am giving them the deluxe end product - a customized movie with smoother transitions and chapters, a customized DVD menu with images and chapters (and music, if it fits) and a customized case and printed DVD (Taiyo Yuden printed Watershield DVD). Yes, the works. So, then I told them to buy a external HDD and I would move the resulting DV files to it so they would have them should the ever want to use the footage again (e.g. make an "anniversary" montage that pulls in just clips from their wedding, or a wedding montage for their kids that includes the baby footage that I digitized.) So, they have the VHSC and VHS originals, they'll have the movie on DVD and they were going to have the DV files on a hard drive of the appropriate size. That was my recommendation since the problem was that the tapes sat around in the first place - they aren't going to convert them without help. But, if that's the "best" option for longer-lasting backup, I can offer it to them.
+If this were for your use, I would recommend that you also create a disk image of the iDVD project as backup. ...Because the disk image file is self-contained, you can safely delete the iMovie and iDVD projects without losing the ability to burn DVDs of the iDVD project that is now saved as the disk image. You use Disk Utility (or Toast if you have it) to burn the actual DVD disk.+
That is the best advice I could have received! I hadn't really figured out what I was going to do with the actual iMovie and iDVD projects after I was finished. I was reluctant to delete b/c - ahem - they've come back to me after 2 months of the last project and asked for another copy!!! But, I've already added one external for this, I can't house their memories in various forms forever. So, if I do the disk image, I'll retain the ability to make the disk - that's exactly what I need. I've already been caught once by the dreaded "you've updated the move file" bug once, simply because I had opened the original iMovie project - and I had to build the whole DVD again (and it had 24 chapters!)
Thanks so much for the counsel on the disk image - I had heard about it but just wasn't sure how I should directly apply it to these projects.
    Appreciate it!

  • Two questions about the PSD file format specicaition

I'm a programmer dealing with a project to parse PSD files. When reading the official file format specification, I found that some fields of the file are not clarified:
    1. There is a rectangle structure containing 4 fields: top, left, buttom, right. I wanna know whether these 4 fields can be negative values and is there a rule that the buttom shoud be larger than the top and the right shoud be larger than the left
    2. The PSD file contains a color mode section. But if the color mode is RGB, the color mode section contians no data but a 4-byte length field whose value is set to 0. This is true for files in RGB mode 8-bit channel. But after convert the files to RGB mode 32-bit channel using photoshop, the whole color mode section is no long exist.
These two questions may be somehow technical, I would be thankful if someone can give me a hand.

    1) was covered in the documentation at one time.  Yes, many of them can be negative, that's why they're signed values.  Valid rectangles will have the bottom greater than the top, and the right greater than the left. But you can also have empty rectangles, and sometimes invalid rectangles (because the values don't matter).
    2) Not sure what you're asking...  color mode is just a single enumeration for RGB, CMYK, etc.

  • Question about Export - Audio mixdown

Ive been wondering, why is there option boxes for 32 and 16 bit? I understand dithering. But is this just to let adobe know what bit rate it is? why?
Maybe, is it for this?? :  someone being in a hurry, for a quick mixdown for a cd-ready track they could hit 16 bit and enable dither, and youll notice  the "Dither Options" is the same dithering program inside Edit -> Convert Sample Type (F11) in multitrack view.
And 32 bit is just to keep it good if you plan on editing it later, but i dont get this: Why adobe needs to know at mixdown, the actual waves should already be carrying the bit information, right?
But what if the track was already dithered using Waves, Izotope or some other on the master fader for a quickfix...would leaving it at 32 be no problem? And if I put it at 16 would it try to chop it off more?
    Sorry, please someone explain.
Adobe audition is not as simple as protools...sorry about my rant the other day, i understand i made a few mad but they probably took it the wrong way and I probably said it the wrong way, I was really looking for help. it just got me frustrated. I am an adobe auditon user too, as well.
And just wondering, What .wav format do you guys save your Final master in?
me, Ive been using ACM Format .WAV (16 bit 44.1 of course)
    once again, sorry

    djak24k wrote:
Sorry, you lost me there, what do you mean by 2 16 bit files? like 2 in one session? or one on stacked on another? and run out of steam?
Yes, two in one session. If one of them is 6dB louder (or quieter) than the other, then you'd need at least 17 bits to represent all the possible data in the output.
And since i DJ, should I start recording in 16 bit? I have always kept 44.1 32 bit when in adobe because its the default, and mixed down, and had to master and dither in edit view in order to make it go on a cd... And the music is already mastered, but I go ahead and record in 32 bit, which i dont think would cause a problem - BUT dithering on top of dithering like i do to make it 16 again, that could be bad couldnt it?
You shouldn't ever dither twice - you end up with twice as much added noise as you need, and it very likely won't work properly.
Steve, whats your final 16bit-44.1 format? Ive noticed some of my cds havent been playing in 1, later on the cd players motor burnt out (impala 2004- im sure it was just getting old) and got a completely new cd player (the stock tray kind) and i still get errors, but they play everywhere else... and ive been doing ACM ever since I learned what redbook was. Well, at least in adobe.
Ah, I meant to mention that. You shouldn't ever use ACM for anything, because it gets processed by the very dubious processing in the OS. What you should use is Windows PCM, because this is saved directly. So, the only acceptable format is 44.1k 16-bit stereo PCM wav.
The safe way to process your audio is to do a 32-bit mixdown, and then in EV do the dither using Ozone. After that, convert the file (which is effectively a truncation) to 16-bit and do no more processing at all. The rule is "Dither Once - Dither Last". If you look in the Ozone Dithering Guide you will find more information about exactly what to do.

  • I have a question about exporting a music file from Express.

Hi, I'm a new Logic Express user and I have a question.
I have been using Garageband for some time and I figured I needed a higher level of music producing. Now, I have created a song in Logic Express. However, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPORT IT! it was so much in GB. But Now, I'm having trouble. I looked through the manual more than once and I can't find a way to export my logic file as an Mp3 file.
    Can anyone help me? Thanks!

In the file menu there is a BOUNCE option, when you bounce it you can set it to convert to an MP3 right there or you can do it in iTunes. Its up to you.
