Question about file sharing in the cloud

I want to share my folder in the cloud with friends, currently I can only share some pictures and not a folder. In addition, I can't also upload any folder, is that because I am using trial?

I don't think you can share folders, just the contents, unless you zip them.
As for uploading folders, not via the website, but if you download the desktop cloud connection application, you can upload whole folders and keep your cloud and computers sync'd.

  • Few questions about file sharing using airport

    I'm thinking about getting an AirPort Extreme, but I have a few questions:
    1- I (must) use Ubuntu Linux at work and I would like to be able to acess my home files hosted at AirPort remotly. Is this possible?
    2- Can I access my files on my iPhone using 3G connection (eg: download or stream mp3 files, photos, ...)?
    Thanks in advance!

    Yes.
    Yes. Use FileBrowser for iPad.

  • Is public file sharing from the cloud really "public"?

    I'm wondering...When I make a file "PUBLIC" does that mean that it could be viewed by anyone in the public or just by people that I send the link to or people that they may send the link to? Is this crawled by search engines?

    Hi,
    Sharing ONE file would not allow to view any other files.
    If you send link via email to another email address, it will only send the link for that FILE which you shared.
    You can't access any other files of the sender.
    There are two options :
    One is PRIVATE -- with no options means this is private to you (Even if anyone knows the link, he can't view that file untill and unless that file is in PUBLIC mode)
    Another is PUBLIC with 2 options : Comment and Download -- If you check those then the recipient will be able to comment and download that specific IMAGE or FILE.
    Thanks,

  • Question about file conversion in the sender file adapter

    Hi, all.
    I am trying to get the file adapter to parse a file. The message type is the following:
    JOB
       Msg  0..1
          Transaction  0 ... unbounded
             Data   0 ... 1
                f1 string
                f2 string
    How would you define the recordset name and recordset structure to produce the same structure in the converted xml. I tried:
    recordset name : Msg
    recordset structure : Data, *
    But the transaction is missing. I tried:
    recordset name: Msg
    recordset structure : Transaction, *
    Then the data is missing. Note that the actual data in f1, f2 ... are loaded successfully though.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan.

    Hi, Hareesh
    I agree. But that is how it is defined now by someone else. It is hard to change it as he defines the same structure on the receiving side. I didn't want to change the receiving structure as it touches the proxy code too. So I want to make something short and sweet.
    Basically the data looks like this:
    11,222
    55,666
    The result xml should be something like:
    <JOB>
      <Msg>
         <Transaction>
            <DATA>
               11
               222
            </DATA>
         </Transaction>
         <Transaction>
            <DATA>
              55
              666
            </DATA>
          </Transaction>
      </MSG>
    </JOB>
    I know either the DATA has no meaning and it's giving me a headache ... but that's how it's done and I don't want to rock the boat too much. There are lots of mapping that I have changed otherwise.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan.

  • Kobo APP download Docs, PDF's Kobo said to convert the PDF using Adobe Digital Editions, then I'd be able to upload to the Kobe APP via iTunes. Where is File Sharing under the Apps tab located?

    I've uploaded my PDF to Adobe Digital Editions, but can't find where on iTunes to select file sharing under the Apps Tab... as specified in the instructions in the Kobo APP for the iPhone... and a rep from Kobo told me it was possible.

    For future questions, this forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with an issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

  • How do I access my files saved in the cloud

    Once I filled/edited files on acrobat, I am unable to print or save, but it shows that it's automatically saved in the Cloud.  How do I access my files saved in the Cloud and how can I print the edited files?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    How did you store them in the cloud (back up or photo stream) and where do you want to view these photos.

  • File Sharing within the Linux filesystem. How to do?

    I folks,
    i need a java solution to implement a file sharing at the linux filesystem.
    Two java applications which are running in the Linux world need the access to one file at the linux filesystem. How can i do this with java???
    Any suggestions?

    Read/Write access required from both apps I assume? Do both apps run in the same account that owns the file(s)? Is it possible or feasable to put the file information into a database running on Linux instead?

  • Is there a way to upload files directly to the cloud from bridge cc?

    Is there a way to upload files directly to the cloud from bridge cc? I use bridge to organize my files. It would be a lot easier if I didn't have to drag and drop files into the cc folder, I was hoping that there might be an easier way.
    thanks,

    When you save them just make sure you save them to your Mac and not iCloud. For those that already exist, you can move them from iCloud by dragging and dropping them to somewhere else on your Mac. To see all the files in iCloud choose file > open in either pages or numbers.

  • Legality questions about Home Sharing

    I have some legality questions about Apple's Home Sharing technology.
    As I understand it, you can share (that is, copy it from one computer to another) your music, movies, applications and other iTunes-managed files amongst five computers. The only 'trick' is that each computer must have an iTunes Store account and must be logged in in order for it to work.
    My question concerns the copying aspect and the legality of it. For content that was purchased through the iTunes Store I can see how Home Sharing can provide a limitation on content sharing, since all of the machines would need to be connected to Apple's servers in order for the validation process to happen. But what about content that was added to iTunes through other means, e.g., ripping my own CDs or converting my DVDs? These items can still be copied via Home Sharing and as there's no DRM on them there's no way they can be protected against "illegal" or "unauthorized" use.
    It was my understanding that if I gave a copy of a song to someone else, that's illegal. Apple's Home Sharing technology seems to facilitate this action. If I rip a CD or DVD into iTunes and someone copies it out, isn't that making an illegal copy? Can I be held liable for distribution of content?
    And how far does this extend? If I live in a house with four unrelated people, are they legally (?) allowed to copy music and media amongst each another? Is there a perceived or actual difference between using Home Sharing to copy a movie versus, say, using a USB flash drive? And what if one of them moves out? Am I legally obligated to go through that person's hard drive and remove content that they copied from me before they leave the building?
    Does Home Sharing somehow retroactively change the copyright application on a given CD or DVD? Most of my CDs and DVDs contain notices and warnings against distributing copies. Can these warnings now be ignored, or at least amended with "...unless you're using iTunes Home Sharing" at the ends of them?
    I am not trying to stir up a hornet's nest here. I'm only trying to better understand the legal issues surrounding Home Sharing and particularly how they relate to unprotected content. It seems very contradictory that the RIAA and MPAA would be fighting so hard against peer-to-peer services like BitTorrent and Gnutella while apparently allowing peer-to-peer services through iTunes Home Sharing.
    Furthermore, I also understand that the intention of this system was to allow families who are living together to have common access to all of the "household" music, but my issues aren't about this. I envision, for example, a college dorm building where there's several hundred people living together on the same network subnet, and all of them have Home Sharing enabled and everyone is copying thousands and thousands of songs to/from one another. Is this now legal?
    Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

    If I rip a CD or DVD into iTunes and someone copies it out, isn't that making an illegal copy?
    RIPping of commercial, encrypted DVDs (most of them) is illegal to begin with. Or rather, breaking the encryption on a DVD is illegal and in order to RIP the DVD, you must break the encryption. SO you have already "broken the law" by having a copy on your computer.
    Most of my CDs and DVDs contain notices and warnings against distributing copies.
    Most of your DVDs have a notice about even simply making a copy, not only distributing copies.
    Much of your post has been cussed and discussed by many, many people (lawyers, corporations, organizations, individuals, etc.) and no one has come (or likely ever will come) to a complete agreement.
    Generally, "sharing" in the same house hold amongst family members seems to be okay. Outside the same household/family is almost always not okay.
    I envision, for example, a college dorm building where there's several hundred people living together on the same network subnet, and all of them have Home Sharing enabled and everyone is copying thousands and thousands of songs to/from one another. Is this now legal?
    No.
    This is exactly what Napster was and why they were sued & shut down.
    I imagine Apple lawyers have done their homework as well as consulted with the labels to discuss these exact issues.
    And it's called "Home Sharing" to indicate that it is not "Dorm Sharing" or "Workplace Sharing", or even simply "Library Sharing"etc. even though it may be possible to use it in other places than the Home.
    Users on other computers need to know your iTunes ID and password to enable it Home Sharing. Likely this is how Apple got the lables to be okay with it.
    Are you gonna give (and get) dozens/hundreds/thousands/any other users your iTunesID & password?

  • File Sharing on the Network not working properly

    Hoping someone can help and not really sure if its the right place to ask but I am totally at a loss so thought I would give it go. Technically it is an issue with logging onto the Shared Folders from a Media Player but not sure if the issue has been caused by settings on the Mac.
    I have an IMAC with shared folders that can be accessed on a network. Can be accessed fine by all users.
    I also share the folders with a Philips Media Player HMP/5000 which allows you to stream media via wifi from your network. I have had no issues with it streaming from the Mac up until yesterday when I upgraded to Maverick Operating. System.  Now when I try to access the shared folders the Philips Media Device wants a Network Login and Password which it never wanted before. I changed none of my file sharing permissions and everything is as it was. I don't understand why all of a sudden it wants a network login. I have tried my user name and password for my Mac but that doesn't work.
    Nothing in the UserGuide for the Media Player talks about this. I contacted Philips and they said it is an issue with my computer not letting me access the files.
    I am wondering if the upgrade to Maverick has somehow changed some sort of settings somewhere which no longer allows this device to access the shared folders?
    My file Sharing is on and states that everyone has access. My firewall is turned off.
    Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

    Although not directly an answer to your question, I recommend you use a wifi router to allow all your devices to get onto the Internet. I never recommend using Internet Sharing with a computer. Sorry I could not directly answer your question.
    That said, someone will be along to help you with Internet Sharing.

  • ? After updating my iTunes match, I noticed that some music files were no longer listed on my cloud on my laptop.  They are still listed on my iPhone. These are files imported to the cloud from legitimate CDs.

    Just updated iTunes Cloud.  Noticed that some music files are missing, entire playlists.  They were here a few hours ago, now they are not.
    But they are still on the cloud menu on my smartphone.
    Files uploaded to cloud from CDs, legit, no boots or anything like that.
    My iTunes is 10/7.0.21.  I have the newer version on a desktop and don't much care for it, so have resisted updating on the laptop, which is my primary computer.
    I've rebooted the computer, turned off iTunes Match and turned it back on again.  No change.
    Lots of questions.  How can my cloud catalog be different on different devices?  How can I get this stuff back on my lap-top cloud?  Anyone else having problems like this?  I'm trying to trim my physical collection by importing stuff to the cloud and discarding the physical media.  Am I shooting myself in the metaphorical foot?
    Suggestions much appreciated.

    You might want to post this over in the iTunes Match forum.

  • File sharing and the "current version" feature

    hi,
    i see that there is a "current version" feature while using the file sharing features in "creative cloud".
    How can I use this feature ?
    ie. change or add versions to show up in the same area above to be used for communication with customers/clients etc.
    -Where can i go to offer suggestions to this part of CC ?
    -I would really love to see greater features for commenting, file sharing, and basically overall colaboration.
    Any kind assistance in this would be greatly appreciated,
    Respectfull,
    RC.

    It looks like you already have file syncing working from the Creative Cloud application. If not you can sign up here http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/file-and-typekit-font-sync-rolling-out/.
    Then all you need to do is open a file in your Creative Cloud Files folder, make an edit and save the file with the same name. A new version will appear.

  • Question about Setting Window Title/the use of AVWindowSetTitle()

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question about setting the title of the window in which the Acrobat viewer normally opens a PDF file.  The documentation states that AVWindowSetTitle() cannot be used in this case.  However, using it has worked with versions of Acrobat/Reader up until and including version 8.
    Everything breaks down starting with Acrobat 9.
    According to the documentation I am supposed to do the following: "To set the title of a window in which the Acrobat viewer opens a PDF file, you must replace AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() and pass the window title in tempTitle."
    Unfortunately, there are 2 problems I have with this approach:
         I do need to be able to change the document title on document Save, not only on document Open
         I do not know what AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() implementation has to look like if I have to replace it using HFTReplaceEntry().
    Is there a sample customized implementation of AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() somewhere that I could take a look at?
    Is there a way to change a document Title inside Acrobat/Reader window after a Save operation?
    Thanks a million,
      Lana2010K

         I am sorry.  I don't know how you tested this and came to conclusion that this works correctly in Acrobat X.
         I just tested our Acrobat plug-in with a trial version of Acrobat X and this did not work.
         When we open a file in Acrobat (doing it ourselves in the plug-in by adding another specialized open) we set the window title to something different from the default file name.  Then if a file gets edited and saved (File->Save), the window title gets reset to the file name. In the PDDocDidSave callback we call AVWindowSetTitle() to set it back to a more descriptive window title we need.  This has worked up until and including Acrobat 8, but does not work in either version 9.0 or 10.0.
         Also, I just modified the plug-in code to always change the Window Title of every document (even if opened through native File->Open) on document Save.  It does not work.
         Please help,
              Lana2010K

  • TS3991 Recover keynote files deleted in the cloud

    I inadvertently deleted files from my iPad and thus the Cloud.  Is there any way to recover those files?

    Hi,
    DPM do not care about the Source File has changed or deleted, so SCDPM does not know if a File has been changed or is deleted.
    So there is now known way to archive your Goal.
    I can imaging that you can archive this Goal with a Powershelgl Script, but would be not this easy

  • Question about file size when using "Export for Web"

    Hi!
    I created a .mov file and worked to get a great balance between file size and quality so that I could deliver it via the web and make it easier for end users to see the video on a slower connection.
    My question: When I use "Export for Web," my .mov file is converted into a very large .m4v file--more than double the size of the original file. I know that this export option is to optimize the file for a wide variety of users/internet speeds. Am I correct in guessing that the end size is not an issue? I would post the .mov file instead, but I really like the option of embedding into a html page along with the "click to play" option.
    Bottom line--is it better to post the smaller .mov file that i originally started with or to go ahead and link to the bigger .m4v file that was created with the "Export for Web" option?

    "Export for Web" is a feature of QuickTime Pro and it makes 4 files and the html page code for easy copy/paste Web page editing.
    The very first file is called a "reference movie" and it links to the other 3 files (56kbps, 900kbps and 1.5Mbps). It, and the page code, "read" the connection speed of the viewing hardware and "serve up" the correct file based on that connection speed.
    In nearly all cases the "Desktop" version would still be smaller in file size than the original source. The times the file would "increase" in file size would be when an already compressed was used as the source file. You can find out more about your source file by opening it in QuickTime Player and viewing the Movie Inspector window information.
    There are dozens of other html "tricks" that could be used if your source file is already compressed but you want a different display size:
    Page code to show "aspect" or scale="tofit". This code allows values "outside" of those found in the actual QuickTime file be used for the Web page display. A 320X240 QuickTime .mov file looks pretty good at double size (640X480) but the file size would still be that of the source file.
    "Poster Movie" is another html trick that loads the Web based file directly in the QuickTime Player application (bypassing Web page layout restrictions). These files are also known as "Presentation Movies".
    Another method is the QuickTime Media Link file (.qtl). These are simple text based files that are used as a "direct link". These use simple XML (Extensible Markup Language) and are easily created in any text editing application. The simple syntax has amazing control over a simple QuickTime .mov file. You can launch (and quit) the QuickTime Player, display at other dimensions and even embed "links" inside the display.
    Some of my files as examples:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/Lemon_Trees/ a "Poster Movie" style.
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/.Public/RedneckTexasChristmas.qtl
    A QuickTime Media Link file. A tiny file should download to the viewing machine, launch QuickTime Player, present the movie and it even includes a "link" to my Web page.
    Edit: It appears you must now double click the .qtl download to launch QuickTime.
