Question about how to connect two solution manager

Hello experts
one of our clients wants to connect his SOLMAN to our SOLMAN, that way
when they receive a case in his ICM we can monitor the case and respond
It, if the situation requires or they ask for our help.
Can you please tell me if theres a way to connect them and what is the
best way to do that?
Thanks for your help,
Regards,

You are going to connect a Solution Manager to another Solution Manager, so I think it is enough to use the RFC destination on the connection.
I suppose you want to send a message from 7.0 to 7.1, so you may:
In Solman 7.0 system:
1. T-code SM59   > Define an RFC connection to 7.1 system;
2. T-code ICTCONF   > Add an entry for the 7.1 service desk, specify
the RFC Destination as the one you defined   > Activate -> Generate default value mapping (you may find the button on the top of ICTCONF).
In Solman 7.1 system:
1. T-code SM59   > Define an RFC connection to 7.0 system;
2. T-code ICTCONF   > Add an entry for the 7.0 service desk, specify the RFC Destination as the one you defined   > Activate -> Generate default value mapping;
3. Customize your own value mapping including the transaction type. You will find the details in:
IMG -> SAP Solution Manager -> Capabilities (Optional)    -> Application Incident Management (Service Desk)    -> External Integration -> External Service Desk
Most fields of SIVA and SMIV are the same (for example, priority) so you do not need to care about the value mapping if you do not have special requirement. However, some fields only exist in SIVA category, subject) and others only exist in SMIV (multilevel categories). You may need to implement your own code according to your requirement.

  • Connect two Solution Manager systems.

    Hello,
We are planning to couple two Solution Manager systems.
We want to get all the alerts ABAP+JAVA(Root Cause) from one Solution Manager to the other.
What are te steps to take?
    Connect the SLD's?
    Connect the systems thru RFC?
Point all the agents to the 2 Solution Manager systems?
    Regards,
    Mike Geluk

    Hello,
    It is possible.
    For SLD, two options:
    - Each Solution Manager can use its own SLD. Then you must define the other server in the SLD, and vice-versa.
    - Each Solution manager can connect to a central SLD where the two are defined.
The rest is just like any other managed system configuration: follow the steps in solman_setup.

  • Quality Center Adapter - Connecting Multiple Solution Manager Systems

We are running Solution Manager 7/Enhp 1 and Quality Center 10 successfully using the Quality Center Adapter integration. My question is, can we connect multiple Solution Manager systems (i.e. SMP/SMS/SMX) to a single Quality Center server simultaneously? Or is there a one-to-one relationship restriction. Thanks.

I have answered this question in this post below:
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2110531&messageID=10962875#10962875
    To quote myself
Each tie up is based on the logical ports at the Solution Manager end and the relationship between the two entities is between Projects. So if you set up the configuration like you would in a normal scenario and at the right moment, connect the projects in SolMans to the corresponding projects in HPQC, you should be fine.
    Hope that helps.

  • Hello! I have a huge question about how can I get connected my iphone 4 with my car Is there any opption on find my car application? I have a Volvo xc60 and I want to be connected all the time with my iphone. Can I do that?

Hello! I have a huge question about how can I get connected my iphone 4 with my car Is there any opption on find my car application? I have a Volvo xc60 and I want to be connected all the time with my iphone. Can I do that?

Hello. I can say that you have a quite strange „huge question”… It’s non-sense to stay connected with your car which is hundreds miles away. Unless…
I have a theory. You don’t want to controll your car, you want to controll somebody who is driving the car. Volvo XC 60 is a nice family car, usually used by married men between age of 35-45, probably with small children, so it’s very unlikely that you want to controll your teanage kid, mainly because probably even if you would give him/her to drive the car in the neighborhoud, I don’t think that he/she would be „several hundred miles away”…  If your child is not young teneage anymore, and he/she has his/her own life, but you want to control him/her, that is sick… So I am convinced that you want to controll your husband who probably travelling often! Am I wright?
Isnt’t nice at all! Would you like if you would be monitorized in such way? I bet you don’t!
Anyway, iPhone is smart, you can use for many things, but come on, you really were thinking that there is such kind of application???
What could you do it's to put in the car a GPS survelling system, however I don't think that you could do it without your husband knowledge, otherwise he won't be able to start the engine...

  • Syncronizing two Solutions Manager with One SLD

Hello Experts, we have this issue: I am having one Central SLD  in PI and one productive Solution Manager (new one) that is pointing to that SLD, for incidents we are managing another ¨productive¨Solution Manager (old one) . There is a new system that I need it in my SMSY in my old Solution Manager and the best way to do it would be to point that old Solman to the same SLD that the new one is pointing. my question is: I only have to set the SLD in the old solution manager in the RZ70 and add that Solution Manager in the Central SLD?, so I would end with two solution manager pointing the same Central SLD, it doesnt mess with my new productive Solution Manager SMSY?, I want to be sure that some trash data in the old Solution Manager wont be present in the new Solman that is pointing the Central SLD right now.
    Best Regards,
    Paul

    Dear Mr. Paul,
There are few things to understand:
    1. RZ70 is used to feed SLD with system information.
    2. landscape fetch job need to be scheduled within Solution manager system to update SMSY with the latest information available in SLD which you have configured during SOLMAN_SETUP.
Here with your description it is clear that you have central SLD at your PI system and your both Solution manager system ( New and Old) are connected to the central SLD.
Here what I understand if you want to add a new system say X in SMSY of your old solution manager.
In order to do so you need to configure your new system to the central SLD using RZ70. Once you did this, system details of your new system would be available with central SLD.
Now in next step to make that system available to your old solution manager, you need to rerun the smsy_setup job. This will referesh your SMSY and new system would be available in SMSY of your OLD solution manager.
In this case there is a catch. Since you have added the system to the central SLD, the new system X would also appears in the SMSY of your new Solution Manager as well once SMSY of new solman gets refreshed.
So if you just want to add this new system X to SMSY of your old solution manager only and not to the new one, you can add this system to the local SLD of old solution manager only not to the central SLD.
Also you need not to worry about the trash data available in your Old solution manager. It would not effect the central SLD if your local SLD of old solution manager is not synch with central SLD.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Connection to Solution Manager

    Hi All,
I need your knowledge about Solution Manager.
    My Request:
I would like to make a connection to Solution Manager, is anyone can help me to do this connection, Is it possible to have or to know what information I can enter to go on the next .
Attach a Snapshot to see what I need.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Claude

    Hi Claude,
just finishing connection PowerDesigner (16.5) <-> SOLMAN  (7.1 SP08). So you will need:
    1. Application server (address you can get from SAPGui):
    2. Port number - you will need support from your Basis colleagues
    3. User ID and Password to access SOLMAN
    4. Importing structure from SOLMAN:
         a, create new model:
         b. change your model language to SOLMAN:
    c. this will open possibility to import or export from/to SOLMAN in menu "Language":
    d. choosing "Update..." will start Wizard where you will need your data from the beginning:
    e. choose a project, processes and import it.
    Hopefully helps :-)

  • Master Data synchronisation between two Solution Manager systems

    Hi all,
does anyone know if it is possible to synchronise master data (smsy, ibase and such) between two Solution Manager systems with standard jobs?
    Thanks!
    Regards

I asked a likewise question on the OSS earlier and I was told
"Use MDM" (which is a separate product and must be licensed separately).

  • A few questions about how ZPM works.

We have patch management (in ZCM 11.2.2), but honestly don't use it much. I have a few questions about how it works that might make me use it more, if I understand it more.
If I deploy a patch (or a set of patches), it creates a bundle for that deployment. That bundle seems to include actions that deploy the actual patch bundles (correct?). Do I have to recreate a new deployment bundle every time I want to push a new patch? i.e. If I push a Java update, and a month later, a new one comes out, do I build out a new bundle with the new patch in it, or do I modify the old one?
Once the patch is deployed, can I safely delete that deployment bundle, or should they just pile up?
Is there a way to "auto-approve" patches? Lets say I always want a group of machines to have the latest Adobe Flash Player patches. Can I set up ZPM to automatically cache and push the latest patches for a specific product, or do I have to manually remediate each patch? (I'm thinking of how MS's WSUS does "auto-approval")
I see most packages aren't cached in list, but occasionally, a patch is cached without me touching it. Why? Can I change what gets automatically cached?
Thanks for any help/answers you can provide.

For #1, (assuming you're not using baselines), you would check the new version of the patch (vulnerability) and do a new deployment.
#2 - once you're satisified that the machines are deployed (or the best to your ability) you can delete the DEPLOYMENT package. It doesn't delete the actual vulnerability bundles to my knowledge. That's why it's a good idea to name your bundle deployments with something meaningful, IMO (and maybe include a nice desription).
#3 - currently I don't believe this is possible. I know you can probably configure it to auto-download the patches, but not auto-deploy everything. Given the propensity for software to wreck other things (hello MS .NET patches), this is probably not a good idea. At least I'd never auto-download and auto-deploy any patches without testing them first, and certainly take my servers a little more cautiously than my workstations.
#4 - I think you can configure what's cached, but I could be wrong.
I know there's a lot of improvements coming in the pipeline, and it doesn't hurt to "vote" for your enhancements via the enhancement system (more work for Shaun--haha)

  • Limit on number of external applications connected to Solution manager

    Hi,
is there a limit on how many external applications can be interfaced with solution manager? Do you need more information to answer?
    thanks
    Bala

    Hello Bala,
I assume that the external applications that you are talking about are for monitoring via Solution Manager and there is no limit on how many systems you monitor via Solution Manager.
Please let me know if I am wrong in my assumption.

  • Connection from Solution manager to SapNet

    Hi,
I want connect from solution manager to sapnet for downloading support packages. What i need to do ?
I think that i need to:
    1. official IP address for solution manager host ? Could this ip address be one in all network and routed to solution manager host ?
    2. Install sap router on solution manager host ?

    Hi Mindaugas,
For getting SAP Solution manager connected to SAP Net the following where mandatory
We Should have a official IP address of the computer on which SAP router can be  configured. Its not necessary that you should have it in solution manager server. You can have it in any of the computer within your network and configure SAP router in that machine. This should be an official and registered IP address. You cannot use address such as
    10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
    172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
    192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
Later solution manager can be connected to SAP net using three RFC connections SAPOSS, SAP-OSS, SAP-OSS-LIST-O01. But before starting this make sure that you have configured SAP router correctly. Only then these RFC connections will work.

  • HTTP Connection for Solution manager

    Dear Experts,
SAP support team asked to create a http connection for solution manager for service check. We already created a R/3 connection for solution manager.why they are asking for HTTP connection? Really they required HTTP connection ?,Is they are any problem with this type of connections. What are the transaction codes which are not run in SAP GUI. Please clarify my doubts.
    Thanks and regards,
    Patan Thavaheer.

    Hi Patan,
Solution Manager transaction codes open in http browser. You can check the behaviour yourself by making a login to solution manager and execute transaction code solman_setup.
For SAP support to open http browser within remote support, they need to have http connection opened along with HTTP url maintained.
Refer to the SAP help link above for the procedure.
    Hope this helps.

  • Round trip workflow with proxies between Premiere and AE / a more general question about how these programs work?

    Hi all,
I'm new to editing with proxies in Premiere and have some questions about how to handle the relationship with After Effects. Say I have a rough cut (with proxies) and I want to send it to AE to do some effects. The simplest thing to do seems to be to replace the proxies with the originals in Premiere, send the project to AE and do my thing. But if I then want to send the project back to Premiere, it will involve the original files, which are too machine-intensive for me to edit. In theory, it seems like there should be a way to send the project with original footage to AE, do effects, send it back to Premiere, and then replace it with proxies to do further editing while retaining the effects.
This leads to a confusion about how AE works. When I do an effect, am I correct in assuming that it does nothing to the original file? If that's the case, it seems like it shouldn't matter (in the editing stage) what file AE "applies" an effect to (proxy or original). But I feel like there's a hitch in this workflow. The same question could also be asked about going back and forth in Speed Grade.
Perhaps there is no real answer to this and the best option is to save effects and grading for after I have picture lock, but sometimes that's not entirely possible or convenient, etc.
Hopefully this makes some sense—It's a little hard to explain.
    Thanks.
