Greetings Java Experts.
I have a question about the following code snippet.
As you can see below this snippet will establish a connection.
Question how long will it allow for the connection to be established - for example if the web traffic is taking an unusually long period of time can I set it to a higher value ?

Question about mangled URLs

Hello,
I have a load testing app that I'm adapting to work with BSPs and I have a question about the mangled URLs that are used.
If I record a URL that is mangled, can I save that URL and reuse it during the playback of a session? From what I understand it includes things like theme, language and such. But obviously if it includes a session ID, it won't work.
Session ID seems to be stored in a cookie. Can it also be stored in a mangled URL and if so, why the duplication?

Those parameters are there for a reason; to pass along information to the page so that the dynamic content can be manipulated based on them. So your question really is: "Can I pass along this information to the page in another way than URL parameters?"
There are always options, but most of them require work. For example:
1) use a POST to generate the page
In a POST request the parameters are part of the request body, so you don't see them. The trouble is that a POST request cannot be created just like that; it requires some sort of form submission behind it. This can be facilitated with javascript (output a form and let the link submit it through an onclick handler), but it is far from a clean solution.
Added pain: form submits behave badly in combination with the browser back/forward buttons. Also, bookmarking cannot work like this.
2) "web 2.0". Using Ajax it is possible to do page updates in the background, so you could do the request (with parameters) asynchronously and update the page accordingly.
Added pain: again back/forward buttons and bookmarking will be broken unless you take very specific steps (that I don't know of myself).
3) conversation scope technology. Some APIs provide a so called "conversation" scope, which allows you to hold on to certain values across requests until you end the conversation. You could use this to push certain values into the conversation and reuse them in different pages without having to pass along the values as request parameters or in a form. Even without a conversation scope, you could simply abuse the session for this purpose.
I hope this has given you some idea how to go about implementing your requirement.

Question about Facebook URL

Hey everyone, new here so Im probably doing this completely wrong but please bare with me! I was randomly directed here whilst trying to find out if theres a way of changing my Facebook URL (its already been changed once - not by me)
I have no idea why the adobe forum section would be interested in that, but the link provided sent me here. I also had no idea what thread to post this in either, so I apologise in advance for probably making a mistake.

Question about friendly urls?

i want to ask about if the following is possible:
i have a link that look like this:
http://somewebsite.com/page?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3
is it possible to make the link that appears in the browser like
http://something.com/page ,and the parameter values is still there in the browser

Newbie question about deployment URL

I created a web service using Web Logic 9's service gen. I then successfully deployed it. When I tried calling it, I get a 404. I'm not sure I'm calling the correct URL and failing, or if I'm not even calling the correct URL.
My URL is
localhost:7001/<contextURI>/<serviceURI>?WSDL (values in angle brackets taken from the service gen).
I always seem to have this trouble when deploying... knowing what the URL should be.
Any suggestions?

Answering my own question... whilst I deployed the web service, I had not deployed the context. Doing so sorted out my problem.

ok, first see if name you file index in iWeb then uploading it will allow you to go straight to yoursite.com instead of yoursite.com/yourfirstpage.html if it
If that works find your HTML file, it will be located both here and here. Depending on where you choose to get the file from you may need to download it. After downloading it right-click the file and open it in your HTML file editor (like Coda or Espresso), if you don't have an HTML file editor Dashcode will work just fine. change the text between <title>index</title> to whatever you like and your good to go!

Question about soap url

In SOAP sender communication channel, the default interface and namespace are defined there. But now I need to use one CC for two interfaces. I followed this how to guide

1) in SOAP sender CC set the following flags:
- Use Encoded Headers
- Use Query String
2) prepare URL according to the following:
http://<host>:<j2ee-port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<service>:<channel>&version=3.0&Interface=http%3A
%2F%2Fsap.com%2Ftest%5ETest
Then you will be able to use one SAOP sender communication channel to call two or more interfaces specified in the URL

Use the report SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL to publish the templates.
With transaction SMICM, goto to the services and check that the entry in table twpurlsvr corresponds to the http service.

Question about WEBAPI URL commands

In Visual Composer I'm making a drilldown from table 1 (output from BW query 1) to table 2 (output BW query 2, but same filters as query 1). In my first table I have many keyfigures, in my 2nd table I just want to display that keyfigure with more detail based on the selection from query 1.
Since I can't filter on keyfigure level in VC itself I need one WEBAPI (url command) to do one additional filtering since I don't want to show all keyfigures in query 2 / table 2. I have been testing this first with supplying the WEBAPI string with the fixed (hardcoded) values and this works fine. It looks as follows :

The first string is the name of my keyfigure structure in my query, the 2nd string is the technical name of the keyfigure on which I want to restrict. Like it said, supplying the command url values hardcoded words so I thought i was finished...
Now I wanted to pass the right selected value from table 1 via the VC in the FILTER_VALUE field.
It looks as follows now :
'FILTER_IOBJNM=44RHE9MINFGXEBEXOI7S7UKE6;FILTER_VALUE=@KF_key'
But this doesn't seem to work although @KF_key contains the right value. KF_KEY should give the right technical keyfigure name.
Am I using the right syntax in the FILTER_VALUE part ? I have seen some topics on this forum where people also use the & symbol in some parts but I don't get it up and running

Questions about Digital Wireless Headphones CB2

Hi everyone,
I have a question about the [url="http://nl.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=438&product=6 44" target=_self>Digital Wireless Headphones CB2530[/url] I've never seen it in a shop here in Holland, so I thought I'll pose my questions here.
I'm interested in buying one for my Creative Zen Xtra MP3 player.
My questions are:
- if it's possible to connect it to the player?
- can I use it while traveling (can i hear something if I put the player in my bag)?
- is it a good idea to buy this headphone? (i already have a great headphone by Philips, but am looking for wireless)
I also have a question concerning a remote control. Is there one for the Creative Zen Xtra?

Eline,
Yes, you can connect the wireless headphone to the player. Infact you can connect it to any stereo devices with the audio transmitter as long it's using a 3.5mm minijack. It shouldn't be a problem for the audio even if the player is inside the bag. It works about the same way as a mobilephone to a Bluetooth headset. Unfortunately, the Zen Xtra player does not support remote control feature.

Question about parsing parameters through url

Hello,
I have some questions about parsing parameters through a url.
What I want to build is a page with some text fields and maybe one drop down list. After user enter values into the text fields and select one option in the drop down list, then press the submit button, a report will be opened, which according to the parameters parsed.
These were what I have done:
1. create a blank page and a region
2. create one text field in the region, the name is FIRSTNAME
3. create one hidden items FN, of which the source value is item FIRSTNAME
4. create a process. the type is "Set Preference to value of Item" which set PN with the value of FIRSTNAME when the page submitted
5. create a button "Submit Page and Redirect to URL", in the URL I entered:

My problem is: it seems working for the first time after I entered a value in the FIRSTNAME text field and press submit button, but when I come back to the page (the report was opened in the same page, wondering how to open it in a new window?), the value is saved in the text field and after I enter another value and submit the page again. It still parse the old value to the report. The value of the parameter doesn't change.
What's the reason? and is this the correct way to build what I want?

Thank you again for the help.
But this didn't answer my question exactly. I have tested what you created and the problem remains. When I first time enter a value in the text field and press the button, it goes to page 2, but the parameter didn't parsed. When I go back to page 1 and then click the button again. After that I can see the value I parsed on page 2. Same thing happens when I try to enter a new value. So which means the button has to been pressed twice to parse the parameter.
Due to the limitation of my knowledge of Apex. I don't know how to fix it. Could you please help me again and hope you understand what the problem is. Thank you very much.

need both.
Some of the Forte documentation talks about "Policy" managers and
"Database" managers. How do the functions of these managers differ
for a simple CRUD (Create Read Update Delete) class?

DB manager cover? I.e. do you have one for the entire database (over
100 tables in our case), or do you break it down by sub-system?

Few questions about apex + epg and cookie blocked by IE6

Hi,
I would like to ask a few questions about apex and epg.
I have already installed and configured apex 3.2 on oracle 10g (on my localhost - computer name 'chen_rong', ip address -192.168.88.175 ), and enable anonymous access xdb http server.
now,
1. I can access 'http://chen_rong' , 'http://localhost' , 'http://192.168.88.175' without input username / password for realm 'XDB' in IE6;
2. I can access 'http://localhost/apex/apex_admin' , 'http://192.168.88.175/apex/apex_admin' , and I can be redirected into apex administation page after input admin/<my apex admin password> for realm 'APEX' in IE6;
3. I can access 'http://chen_rong/apex/apex_admin' in IE6, but after input admin/password , I can not be redirected into administation page, because the cookie was blocked by IE6.
then, the first question is :
Q1: What is the difference among 'http://chen_rong' , 'http://localhost' , 'http://192.168.88.175' ? I have already include site 'chen_rong' into my trusted stes! why the cookie was blocked by IE6. I have already tried firefox and google browser, both of them were ok for 'chen_rong', no cookie blocked from site 'chen_rong'!
and,
1. I have tried to use the script in attachment to test http authentication and also want to catch the cookie by utl_http .
2. please review the script for me.

I use oracle database enterprise edtion 10.2.0.3. I have already figured out the epg on 10.2.0.3 to support apex 3.2.
And as I described above, the apex site works fine for ip address , and localhost. but the cookie will be blocked by IE6, if I want to access the site by 'http://computername:port/apex/apex_admin'. This problem does not occured in firefox and google browser. Could someone give me answer?

EBS 12.1.3: a few questions about cloning

Hi,
We have EBS 12.1.3 on AIX 7.1.
A few questions about cloning from shared application tier environment to non-shared application tier environment. We have been following "Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone [ID 406982.1]"
Source environment (shared app tier):
- Two active application nodes and LB
- One active database and one passive database setup with Oracle Data Guard.
- SSL termination at the load balancer
- PCP implemented
Target environment (non-shared app tier):
- One active application node
- One active database node
- No SSL
- No PCP
After the cloning was completed we noticed the following problems in the target system:
1) Home page cannot be accessed as application tier $CONTEXT_FILE still contains "https" and ssl termination settings.
Workaround:
Modify (with text editor) Application Tier $CONTEXT_FILE as follows.
<webentryurlprotocol oa_var="s_webentryurlprotocol" customized="yes">http</webentryurlprotocol>
<sslterminator oa_var="s_enable_sslterminator">#</sslterminator>
<login_page oa_var="s_login_page" customized="yes">http://myhost.mydomain.com:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin</login_page>
<externURL oa_var="s_external_url" customized="yes">http://myhost.mydomain.com:8000</externURL>
Run AutoConfig and start application tier.
Is there a better and supported solution for this?
2) Concurrent managers do not work correctly as they have still old node names (used in PCP in the source system). Workaround used:
1. Logon to EBS web GUI and remove all nodes from all concurrent managers.
2. Shutdown application tier. Verify that all concurrent managers have been shutdown. If not, kill the processes manually
3. As apps user run cmclean.sql
4. Restart application tier
Is there a better solution for this?
3) Database changes from ARCHIVELOG mode to nonarchivelog mode in the target system. Is there anyway to prevent this?
4) Also, we would like to perform a full clone (app + db tiers) from production without shutting down the application. Is this possible? What would be the best documents to describe this? In Production, we have Oracle Data Guard setup with physical standby as per "Oracle Tech Note: Business Continuity for Oracle E-Business Release 12 Using Oracle 11g Physical Standby Database [ID 1070033.1]". This can be used when performing a hot clone for the database, right? What about the application tier? Steps described in 406982.1 include running AutoConfig in which application tier should be down. Does the application need to be down when running "Maintain Snapshot Information"?
5) One final question (not related to cloning). Oracle Enterprise Manager console webUI has recently stopped working in IE8. E.g. https://myhost.mydomain.com:5501/em gives "Page cannot be displayed". This was working correctly last week. In Firefox, the same link is working fine. Any ideas how to fix this?

And, you do not need to shutdown the application to run "Maintain Snapshot Information".

If it is working from one browser, then it should not be an EM issue. Have you tried from a different client and see if this works? Have you changed any setting in your IE browser? Please make sure you add the EM URL to the trusted sites list.

STS: Few Questions about STS ?

Hi All,
Right now, I'm working on STS for IP.
I have some questions about it:
1. Every time I execute t-code BPS_STS_START, it launch the STS Web Application with different port and HTTP.
The port should be 8444, and HTTP should be HTTPS .
I've already checked on t-code: SE80 to TUNGUSKA htm, and see on the properties on it. I got it has correct port and HTTPS.
How do I fix up this problem ? Do you know what the solution is ?
2. When I execute sending email initially, why does it always send the email to manager ?
Whereas It doesn't have the upper level.
How can I setup it? Is it setup with the Authorization ?

When I run t-code: BPS_STS_START. It will launch the browser with this url: https://sapdsb6.xxx.yyy.com:8606/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=100
But it just gives me blank web-page.
My question is whether it's normal behavior from STS ? I thought it will distribute email notification to start planning, but it's not, when I check on t-code: SOSV, it doesn't give any email queue to be distributed.

Btw, regarding my question no. 2, how can I setup it in t-code: BPS_TC at Determine date, Person Resp., Layouts ? Where can I setup it ?
