Question about logon screen customization

Hi,
I have to customize the web logon screen of the BEx.
In SICF, on the BEx service, on the Error Pages tab, System logon is checked. If i click on the Setting button I have :
Define Service-Specific Settings
System ID
Language
System Messages
Logon and SI
etc ... and in "Logon Layout and Procedure", Sap Impl, Netweaver and SAP Tradeshow.
I have defined a header image in "Adjust Links and Images" and it works !
But ... on my logon screen I have 4 fields, which 3 of them a inactive (system, users and password) and the log on button. Only the drop down menu language is active. Users and Password fields content is "Via popup".
In order to logon myself, I have to select my language and enter in a system popup (not a web form) my login and my password. How can I change this boring sequence ? Isn't it possible to enter directly its logon and password in the first screen ?

I think you can pre-define your language, using the parameter 'BspLanguage', in the the url defined at 'Error Pages' of BEX service.
An example:
/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/login.htm?sap-url=<%=PATHTRANS%>&BspLanguage=EN
You can also do other things, such pre-define the client, or show the option to change the password.
An example:
Run default.htm of BSP system_public, to know the parameters available.
/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/login.htm?sap-url=<%=PATHTRANS%>&BspClient=010&BspChangePasswordVisible=X

Question about logon screen

i have this weird problem - i searched the forums but couldnt find any answer - im on 10.7 Lion - sometimes my mac goes into a state where it goes back to the logon screen and i have to enter my password to unlock the mac - this interferes with some remote access software i have which doesnt work if the mac is locked
i dont have Require Password for sleep and screen saver checked in the Security and Privacy preferences - and ive looked at other preferences for s setting that controls this - but couldnt find any
does anyone know what causes this and how to turn it off?

Question about Logon ticket with user mapping at BI-JAVA environment

We're implementing BI 7.0 including BI Java and SAP EP for end user
access.
I have two question about SSO method when we're using BI Java.
I know we can simply configure SSO logon ticket with BI-Java(EP
included) and BI-ABAP through BI template installer and we already
succeeded in that case.
But the problem is we want to change it to user mapping SSO method for
some our internal reason.
After we configure user mapping SSO, we've got SSO failed error when we
call BI-Java stuff like BEx Web Application iView.
After many testing implemented, we found SSO Logon ticket with user
mapping (using SAP reference system). It seems working now.
But our question is "Is it no problem when we use SSO logon ticket with
user mapping?" Is there any restriction or issue?
One more question is we can ONLY use user base mapping when reference
system used. How can we assign BI-ABAP users to EP Group?

Using an SAP Reference system is allright. But if the reason u r going for this is because of different usernames in EP and BI, why dont you go for user mapping.
Anyways, on restriction of reference syetms is that you can have ONLY ONE reference system defined in portal. In you case you can only have the BI system defined.

Portal logon screen customization: size of branding image

Hi Experts,
1. the portal log on image should be changed to custom image. i replaced the branding image in D:\usr\sap\DP1\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout
and cleared the cache and refreshed the screen. the new image is seen. But i placed an image over 25kb (standard branding-image.jpg) size, it is not shown. is this the standard behaviour?
2. i would like to change the "Welcome" text, what is the best method to change.
I changed the test in D:\usr\sap\EPD\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\WEB-INF\classes
in logonLabels_en.properties file.
3. what is the way to change "SAP Netweaver Portal Internet Explorer" on the logon screen which appears on the interenet explorer top left corner!
i am on NW2004s SP11. EP7.0 SP11

Hi,
When you want to chane the text appering on top of Internet explorer, do following things,
Go to System administrator-->system config --> In detail navigation panel, find Service configuration --> open it --> Open Portal runtime --> right click on central configuration > configure>find property named portal.html.head.title here enter any text you want and restart the J2EE engine.
2)You want to change "Welcome" text to say "welcome to my company", in this case you have done changes in logonlables_en properties, Now you have to again create the umelogonbase.zip file and then change the extension to .jar now replace this file in your PAR file project in NWDS, then deploy the project,
Once this is done, In your NWDS project find portalapp.xml file and click on default component and run, see if changes are appearing..if this is successfull, then its time to change the authschemes.xml file.
IF you have done with all this then please update the thread, we will proceed with authschemes file.

Logon Screen Customization

Hi,
I figured out how to change the branding image on the Portal logon / login screen. However, none of the other images (such as the branding text) changed when I did it. This is how I changed the branding image:
System Admin -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Browse Deployment -> WEB-INF-> deployment -> pcd -> com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak
I downloaded this par, changed the images in folder "layout" then redeployed the new PAR file to overwrite the old one. Now the branding image on the logon screen is set to the new one, but all other images remain unchanged. Does anyone know why this is?

Two questions about Logon Group

About logon group, it describes as below in the help.sap.com.
1. Each SAP application has different resource requirements. Certain applications may therefore require more servers and logon groups. For example, you should assign separate servers for the application component PP.
Q1: How a certain application use more than one servers via logon group, and how it use sap memory which resides in different servers?
2. If it is not practical for you to assign separate servers to integrated applications, such as the application components SD-MM and FI-CO, you should assign common logon groups to these applications.
Q2: I don't understand this sentence exactly.

Not sure if I exactly understood what your problem is, but let me give it a try:
A1: One logon group may have several servers attached to it. If users user1, user2, user3, ... are going to connect to the logon group, they will be sent to different servers. None of those users will be able to use memory from more than one server. But, let's say user1 and user2 will use resources from server1, whereas user3 will use resources from server2. The goal is that all servers will have the same (or similar) load, just by distributing users.
A2: If it is not possible to have four logon groups for the four applications SD, MM, FI, CO, but you still want different logon groups, then, at least, you should create two logon groups, one for SD and MM, the other one for FI and CO. That's because resource requirements are similar for SD and MM, and for FI and CO.

Workspace Logon Screen Customization

Hi Gurus,
I am on 11.1.2.1 and attempting to add my client's logo to the logon screen. I have replaced the logon_panel.gif files in the below directors in the bpmui.war file according to http://www.orahyplabs.com/2012/01/customizing-epm-workspace-1112.html#.UFr0wY1lSMl

Unfortunately, the client's logo is only showing up when I access Workspace or SharedServices via 28080 and not on 19000. I've restarted the system and cleared my browser's cookies but the logo has not changed on 19000.
Is there something else I should be modifying so the logo will show up on 19000 or do I have to do a reconfigure (just leaving the ports the same)?

We experienced the same thing.
Solution: To remove the browser history from the command line.
Run->cmd
Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 255

One question about Selection screen

Hi experts,
I am writing a report, on the selection screen, I need to input the file path and then do the file upload.
My question is about how to check the file path I put is correct or not? If it is incorrect, I want to get a message and the cursor still in the field and don't jump to the next page.
How can I do like that?
Any one has any suggestion, please help me.

Should I get the iPod Touch? (Also a question about the screen issue)

Hi,
I recently purchased the 8GB iPod Nano, and now i'm considering to add a $100 and get the iPod Touch 8GB. Would you guys recommend it?
Another question I had was that I heard about the iPod Touch having some Screen Issues, and read somewhere that if the Box has a picture of Macy Gray then its Bad. But I personally think the Macy Gray image is for the 8GB, and the other artist is for the 16GB.
Is there a 100% definite way for me to find out if it has a good screen or not?

Ok, I recommend the iPod Touch. 8GB is fine, and totally worth the $$.
The screen issue has been fixed by a firmware update, so as long as you update to the latest firmware, you should be in the clear.
I have a 16GB macy Gray and it is working perfectly so far (1 week of ownership)
However, you mentioned using your iPod in the rain. If you do so, the Touch is not for you! I would not want to get water even near it, because the technology could be very very sensitive to water. It was raining here the other day (in Los Angeles) and I was so scared to use the touch that I took my 8GB 3gen Nano with me instead. And I was still scared to use that.
You will have to take the touch out and look at it if you are going to operate it properly.
The good news:
you can make playlists on the go! That means you can, while it is still dry, set a nice playlist without connecting to your computer. But, if the volume needs to be adjusted, there is a shortcut that would take just a bit of memorization and careful skill. In your pocket, you can double tap the home button, and then the volume, pause and track forward/backward "buttons" pop up. If you can memorize their position and hit them right, the Touch can be operated in your pocket. But make sure your hands are dry!
So it's up to you. I think quality wise, the Touch has had most of its bugs worked out. The only things that will come in the future are additional features.

A question about keeping screen field unchangable in selection screen

When I executed the report, the field for S_KAPPL is unchangable. This is as expected. But if I select one variant, the filed will change back to changable.
My question is how can I keep the field unchangable after I select variant?

When you're creating the variant you've to mark the check-box "Protect field" as true.
This will make the field as output only.

Validity
Issuing System
Digital Signature
One Mapped ABAP User ID
User ID
When ABAP has the same user ID with Portal, then ABAP use "User ID" to logon, when different and admin defined user mapping for ABAP, then use "One Mapped ABAP User ID" to logon.
My question is, how do SAP backend system decide which uerid to use for different situation?

1)When you use SAP logon tickets for Single Sign-On to SAP Systems, users must have the same user IDs in all SAP Systems that are configured to use SAP logon tickets.
2) If the SAP user IDs are different to the portal user IDs, you must define an SAP reference system. Users then map their portal user ID to the user ID in the SAP reference system.

When users start the user mapping function, one of the component systems that they can select is the SAP reference system. They can map their portal user ID to their user ID in this reference system. The user mapping function connects to the SAP reference system using the user ID and password to verify that the password entered by the user is correct.
The next time the user logs on to the portal, the portal generates an SAP logon ticket for the user that contains both his or her portal user ID and mapped user ID.

2 questions about customizing screen

* Is it possible to rearrange the order of the bind variables on a customization screen? The variables appear in the same order as they are stated in the query.
* I have a dynamic page. The page has some bind variables. When the user enters the correct format of parameters, it works ok. But when the user enters the wrong format (e.g. date and time) i get a browser 404. Can i prevent this? Like checks on the fields?

Hi,
You cannot change the order of the bind variables in the customization form unless you change it in the query.
You cannot have format masks for bind variables. You can change the label to also mention the date format the user should use to enter the value like "Date : (DD/MON/YY)"

A Few question about Dynpro (Screen)

- I have a screen. Its have a table control for selection data. When user select any line of table control I want set new screen... But user doesn't select any line don't permission for next user...

Yep, it can eat up RAM. When you enable follow tempo for a track, the whole audio file is loaded into RAM. Use a utility like MenuMeters to keep an eye on RAM use. http://www.pure-mac.com/diag.html#menumeters

A question about logon users

Dear all:
we want to intergrate R/3 and ESS system on Portal.The ITS address is the same.
Everything is ok but one problem:
Our client wants us to use logon ticket to logon the R/3 and ESS system through Portal.The EP users are not the same as R/3 users,but not absolutely different.R/3 users have some prefix.(for example,EP user:delma R/3 system:psdelma).ESS users are the same as EP.
okay,we can change R/3 users. But this is the worst solution. besides this, we don't know how to figure out this problem.

From the help itself:
The following example shows how you can change the user mapping data of an existing user, user2. When you import the data, choose the option Overwrite Existing Data in the import tool.
The user user2 is mapped to the user ID ext_user2 in the system BCE, where BCE is the system alias of the system defined in the portal system landscape.
