Question about moving music from an iPod to your computer.

In my household, we have iTunes on three different computers. My mother downloaded music on my brother's computer, and it's on his library. We want to burn a cd with the purchased album, but his computer does not have a cd burner, but the other two do. Is there a way to move music from one computer to another, or possibly moving music from an iPod to a computer's library?

Music is synced to iphone from itunes.
Plug in iphone and select whatever you like to sync from itunes to iphone.

Moving music from a ipod to my computer

I have two ipods one was given to me by a friend with music already on it. I would like to take the music from my new ipod and put it into my library. I connected the new ipod to my computer and all it will let me do is download more music onto it. Is there a way to take the music from this other ipod and put it into my music library?

Moving music from my ipod to my itunes, how is this done?

hey, how do i sync my itunes with my ipod and not the other way around? my ipod is composed of two slightly overlapping itunes, one from my computer at work the other at home... how do I set my itunes at home to my ipod?

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

You can't do that with iTunes (except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer songs files from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the songs files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library. Then, you can sync your iPod to that iTunes library, as desired.

Since i've gotten my ipod touch i have dowloaded music from my computer to my ipod. I restored my computer back to factory settings since then, now when i plug my ipod into the computer to get music my ipod doesnt recognize my computer and its giving me an altermatum to either delete the music already on my ipod to put more music on it, or cancel synchronization. I have windows 7, and I'm using the newest version of itunes, i also have an ipod touch and i was just wondering if there is ANY way to put the music FROM my ipod ONTO my computer, I just got a new computer and i want to put my music on it.

What you should do is transfer your existing iTunes Library from your old computer, or the backups you made of it, to your new computer, then carry on syncing as you did before.
iTunes does not have the facility to transfer music from the iPod, except for iTunes Store purchases made on the iPod touch (File > Transfer Purchases).
Google for "ipod copy" for third-party software that will copy from iPod to computer.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

First, I am not well versed when it comes to computers, with that being said I need help. I was trying to figure out how to get my music from my ipod onto my computer and somehow all my music on my ipod is gone and none of it made it to my computer.

Is there any way I can find my music? I had originally added this music to my ipod from my old now deceased computer and I didn't have it backed up externally.

It is now gone. If it was not iTunes purchased music you will have to get your CDs out and rerip them on the new computer. You have to use 3rd party software to copy non-iTunes music from an iPod to a computer, such as Yamipod.
