Question about OAS Installation!

Hi,everybody:
I encounted a problem when I intended to install OAS4.0 to Solaris Server2.7. The problem is when I tried to execute that "runInstaller",failed. And the error message is :"The JAVA RunTime Enviroment was not found at bin/jre." And ask me to install JRE Version 1.1.7 or higher. But it is true that I've already installed such JRE and there is such bin/jre file in my directory. And I also include the path into .profiles.I don't know why?
If U know, pls help me.I've been working on it over a week!
Linas

then will probably change master socket to new SSPF MK3 but will need to make changes at your extenal master.  getting data extension fitted to have connection socket other than at master socket will depend on whether you get openreach or a contractor.  openreach should be ok but contractor is usually install master, check working and off  there is no way to tell until engineer turns up - hopefully for what you want it is openreach

  • Basic questions about JRE installation

I am using NSIS to make a installer, which insalls the JRE 1.5, JMF, Javamp3, then our own software packages.....
Firstly I have some basic question about the general installatio/deinstallation.
1 Why sometimes is it required to reboot computer for the installed software to take effect, e.g.
JRE 1.5. If not, what doest NOT take effect? (Actually in many cases, it seems to work even if not reboot the computer).
    Regarding the JRE 1.5,
    I am wondering:
1 where is the registry entry written in windows?
2 how to make the JRE installation process silent?
    Thanks !

  • Some basic question about SCM Installation

    Hi Folks,
Could you please advice me about some basic questions about SCM and its installation -
Q1. Do I need to have an R/3 System to be able to practice OR demo the SCM system?
Q2. If, yes, which version of SCM is compatible with the ECC 5.0?
Q3. What are the basic requirements to install SCM (version compatible with ECC 5.0) and ECC on a oracle db and windows OS?
Q4. Does SCM have APO and BI as an inbuilt functionality OR does the user need to purchase these as an Add-On?
I know these are some basic questions, but these will help me give me a direction.
    With best wishes,
    Krishna

    Hello Krishna -
Q1. Do I need to have an R/3 System to be able to practice OR demo the SCM system?
---> There are various Modules in SCM Like APO (Sub Modules  DP (stand alone), SNP Needs Master data from R/3 and has to pass on transactional Data to R/3, PPDS same as SNP, GATP same as SNP), ICH needs Data from R/3 to work with. Core Interface (CIF) connects R/3 to APO for transferring data.
Q2. If, yes, which version of SCM is compatible with the ECC 5.0?

Q4. Does SCM have APO and BI as an inbuilt functionality OR does the user need to purchase these as an Add-On?
--> APO comes with a small BI inbuilt functionality. you can only perform certain functions using that BI.
    Hope this helps.

  • Basic Questions about Package Installation

I have one basic question about installing packages.
How can I find out if needed software is already installed without knowing the name of the package?
For e.g. I want to know, if the MYSQL Server is already installed but I don't know the Package name.
How can I find out the package name of needed software?

    Difficult.
Assuming the string "MYSQL" appears somewhere in the package
name or the package description, you can grep the output from
"pkginfo". That is "pkginfo | grep -i sql" would list all installed
packages that contain the substring "sql" with either upper- or
    lowercase letters.

  • A question about Tiger installation via firewire

A friend of mine took her A1055 14.1" 1.33Ghz iBook G4 to someone to have a bad hard drive replaced.  Before he returned it, without asking her, he removed Tiger and installed Leopard on it.  Her base memory is only 256MB, storage 60GB so, as might be expected, once she reinstalled all the necessary apps she has to use in her line of work, her iBook became sludge.  It constantly freezes up; something it never did before he installed Leopard.  She can't afford, at this time, to move up to a MacBook, so she's asked me if I can help her get back to TIger.  (The guy who installed Leopard isn't interested in correcting things.)
This question, before I begin:  I don't have retail TIger disks (and she doesn't, either), but I do have the bundled disks that came with my old pet, an A1054 12" G4.  Both iBooks do have DVD drives, but, of course, these are bundled disks.  Should I be able to successfully skirt the "bundled" issue and install Tiger on her machine via firewire?  I plan to save her important files to a flash before I begin but, since she's running Leopard (if you can call what it's doing "running"...) I'll have to erase her hard drive.  I'm hesitant to do this, if someone here knows any reason my 12" bundled software won't work with her 14.1" iBook, even though it was running Tiger before.  Since I primarily use a MacBook, I'm a bit reckless when it comes to erasing my own iBook's hard drive, but I'm reluctant to do so to hers, if all I might potentially end up with is an empty iBook.
I've never been afraid to ask a stupid question; see how brave I am.

Getting around to answering the question about my own iBook:  the one I keep next to me is model is A1133.  Entering its serial number into this site confirms that TIger was its original OS, so those particular bundled disks are to be expected.  But my old A1054's serial number reveals, as you pointed out, that it's OS was 10.3.3.  This begs the question:  why, when I purchased it as a re-furb at my local Apple Store, several years ago, did it come all neatly boxed, not only with user manuals and stickers, but bundled Tiger disks?  I suppose "Apple re-furb" is the short answer, but the "bundled" part is a bit fuzzy.
Well, back to the original question, Ronda, regarding my friend's iBook and the fact that the guy who worked on it installed Leopard, without her consent:  Yesterday, I was mulling it over, and, remembering that her RAM was only 256, decided that, before I did anything else, I'd up her RAM to see if this helped Leopard run any better.  I pulled a 1 GB card from my "parts" iBook and popped it in.  I'm running it through its paces, today, to watch its behavior.
If it continues to object to having Leopard as its OS, then would the bundled disks that came with my A1133 allow me to install Tiger onto her HD, via firewire, since its production year was more recent?  (I apologize that, at the time I originally posted, I'd not remembered that the A1133 also came with disks.  If you could see all the Macs stacked around this place, perhaps you could forgive that oversight.)

  • A question about the Installation process in general

Hey guys, a general question to the installation process.
    The following scenario:
I install a programme on my macbook pro and don't tick all possible installation options (like additional content).
Afterwards I change my mind and want to install the optional content.
So I run the installation programme again and now the question:
If I install the additional content AND the mainprogramme again is the main programme going to be overwritten or am I going to have the mainprogramme twice on my system from now on
Thanks in advance for you help, folks!

If you do a Unicode conversion (no matter in a UC & CU scenario or as a single project) the target system must be empty - means, you will create a new database and load it with the content you exported.
You can't install the export into your already existing database with the same name.

  • A question about Maveric installer created on a USB key? Can this be used multiple times?

I have downloaded Maveric on a Mac Book Pro.
Then without installing utilising Diskmaker X as suggested using a USB key have created Maveric installer.
My question is that I wish to know if the above created USB installer could be used in more than once to install Maveric?
If I put that above created USB on a Mac Book Air and do the install, and could I use the same USB installer on a second Mac Book Air to install Maveric OS?
This will help not needing to use broadband downloads where restrictions apply?

    Thank you Lanny.
That is great to know about Mavericks.

  • Question about OS installation

I have some problems with hot keys and I want to reformate my system.
Problem is that I havent created recovery cd before, is it going to work if I do it now.
    thanks

    Hi
Please dont worry about recovery procedure. It is very simple to do. Put recovery CD into CD/DVD drive, start the notebook and press down C button and keep it pressed for a few seconds. This will force your unit to boot up from CD/DVD drive.
Follow the instruction on the screen. Standard mode will erase the whole HDD and create just one partition. If you have just one partition I recommend you to create two of them. The first one will be used for OS and application installations. The second one can be used for data saving.
If you need more instructions please write again.

  • Quick question about Universal Installer

    Hi everybody,
I have a Sun Solaris Server with Oracle 9i Database and Oracle 9i Application Server installed.
I am running Oracle Universal Installer from my machine to detect wich products from Database family I have installed in this server.
But when I run the Universal Installer I see only the Oracle Home belonging to OAS instalation.
I don't know what to do to see the oracle home database from the installer...
My intention is to run Oracle Universal Installer to add a database product called PRO * C.
Some help will be very welcome.
PS: I am executing the ./runInstaller command from Oracle home database, but it opens the Oracle home OAS and its list of products.....
    Thank you all,

The heat and whine issues are likely normal (or at least within spec), but the screen anomaly certainly isn't. If you return the machine to Apple (and you purchased a standard, non-CTO configuration) you will be subject to the restocking fee (CTO machines cannot be returned, so far as I know).
Your best bet is to call Apple and send the machine in for repair; if they determine there is a problem they will send you a box to ship the machine to them in, fix it, and send it back to you without charge. 1-800-APL-CARE.
    Good luck.

  • A few questions about the installation

    Hi,
Our block of flats has just been upgraded to Infinity - I think it's likely to be FTTP as we have a fibre optic 'pullback' cable running around each floor outside the flats.
We have not yet been able to order the service but I have a few questions anyway. Apologies for the lengthy nature but my partner and I are trying to explore all options with regards to installation.
As it's likely FTTP do we need to have the modem in the same place as the existing master socket. Reading this it seems that we could have the modem located in a different place and have some Cat5e/Cat6 cables run prior to installation to link the modem to the router (which would remain near the master socket). Is that something that's feasible?
If we have to route the fibre cable through to the lounge, what lengths will the engineer go to in order to aid a discrete run? Can they do things like routing through drywall voids where accessible without structural work beyond drilling a hole? Ideally we would need to drill some holes anyway, are they happy doing more than just the one to bring the cable into the flat?
If the engineer is not able to be overtly flexible, can additional cabling be left in a loop with a view to us conducting future work, things like burying the cable into the drywall? Can the cable even be moved once it's connected to the modem? Does moving the modem cost?
Hopefully someone will be able to advise. It's been a long battle to get the infrastructure put into place and I'm looking forward to getting access to Infinity as soon as possible
    Thank you for any replies

My understanding is that you don't even need a phone line for fibre therefore you don't need a master socket. That being the case, if you do have a phone line then master socket does not need to be anywhere near the fibre modem. You will find that usually you will have to have a phone line installed as part of the package.
EDIT: You should run Ethernet cable from where the modem will be placed to where you want the homehub/router sited.

  • Questions about OAS Portal Forms to upload files

    Hello,
I have quetions, about uploading files, see I need to creat a form that will be used by other people to upload information that later will be presented as downloads in the portal...
so I created a form in my provider with a file (binary) field, and it mimes to my table in the DB, to the field "Archivo", then what I do is use a omniportlet and using HTML format I present like a link using the info in the field Archivo
and when I clic on it it takes me to this link
    http://desarrollo06:7778/pls/portal/38173.PDF
but the file I uploaded does not appear
can aniyone help me to solve this?
thanks in advances for the suggestions and your time ^_^

The method you used to setup upload of file seems fine. I suppose you would have used a blob type to save the file in your db table.
basically, you can develop a report offering a link calling perhaps a procedure which would query from the table and download the file.
In that procedure, you would look for the file (vblob) and the mime_type from that table using a sql-query. then use them to setup the mime type for the http protocol, and download the file as follows.
    owa_util.mime_header(mime_type);
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.Download_File(vblob);
    hope that helps!

  • Question about initial installation: WRT54GS

    Greetings!
I am trying to install a WRT54GS... I have a Motorola SBV4200 Cable Modem (using RoadRunner) hooked into my desk-top PC...
    Here's what I'm finding:
I plug everything in, and hit the "Secure Easy Setup" button on the Linksys, and then my laptop finds the signal, and everything's great - I get a super strong signal, and everything's hunky-dory.
A minute or two later, however, the laptop loses that signal, and switches over to a REALLY weak signal from outside somewhere.  The Linksys signal isn't even seen by the laptop. (i.e. - it's not on the "Available Wireless Network Connections" list)
So I started reading these boards, thinking that maybe I could find out what was going on... I thought that maybe RoadRunner has a dynamic IP Address, and that when it changed, the LinkSys and the laptop just weren't speaking anymore... So I followed everyone's reccommendations to go check the default IP  for the two...
Here's where the next problem occurs... I tried to go to 192.168.1.1, and of course I got to the Username/Password sign in... I left the Username empty, and used "admin" for the password...
    Nothing...
Tried EVERYTHING - Admin, ADMIN, admin, Administrator, default, DEFAULT, tried putting stuff in for the username, EVERYTHING (or at least everyhting i could think of...
I tried resetting the LinkSys, and re-tried all those things again... Nuthin'
Does anyone out there have any ideas where to go next?  Like i said - it's frustrating because the thing works... for about a minute.
The nice thing is that the guy across the street is an IT guy for a HUGE company (one of the biggest in the state) - and he was stumped too!  So I know it's not just me...
    HELP!?!
    Thanks all -
    Tom

Make sure you're hard-wired to the router when you try to access it's address.
Check also if all LEDs are lit up properly. Power LED should always be solid.
Check if the router's still giving you an IP address.

  • A question about Oracle installer and a possible bug in JVM

    Hello,
I appreciate if you could kindly guide me to solve the following problem.

  • Question about Compiler Installation

Hi everyone. Haven't been in this forum for a while.
Anyho, I was wondering. I'm about to run a compiler program called "JCreator LE", and I came upon this message:
"In order for you to make use of the java documentation, you need to have a recent version of JDK JavaDocs installed on your system."
Select the JavaDocs home directory: eg. C:\jdk1.4\docs
I tried looking into my jdk1.4.1_04 folder, but I couldn't locate the source.
So what is JavaDocs, and what is the most appropriate site(s) to download this source?
    thanks, Greg

The JavaDocs are basically the Java API Documentation. You can download any version at http://java.sun.com/docs/ or you can view the complete API docs online at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/index.html
