Question about octave analysis

Hello !
I have the following question about the octave analysis vi's.
When the single octave analysis is made, shouldn't there be 3 bands below 100 Hz ?
According to the octave analysis subvi, the bands should be located at 16, 31.5 and 64 Hz.
I've tryed to make a comparison between octave, 1/3 octave and 1/24 octave.
It seems there is no difference.
I'm running LabView 8.5.1 with SVT 6.0 on windows 7 professional.
This is not happening. See the attached vi for an example of the problem.
P.S. : The file Engine runup is a sample. please rename extension to WAW.

I also have problems with octave analysis, I'm making the acquisition of a pink noise from my audio card and checking the response curve through an analysis of octaves, to obtain a flat response curve, I need to set a number of samples of at least 88200, but this way I can not get a high-speed acquisition, only about one aquisition/second, putting a value of 2000 samples the speed is adequate, but the response curve in octaves loses response below 1000 Hz gradually until around 20 Hz is practically nil, I need help please.

Question about Web analysis calcalation

I created a WA document. In the column, i choose the dim Year and Version. the customer want to change the Version member any time as they need and want to calc the difference between Versions. For example, if they chose Version1 and Version2, then i need to add a column to calc Version1 - Version2. But if they chose Version 2 and Version3, i need to calc Version2 - Version3. How can i make it?

the customer want to see the difference any time they want. If we use the Substitution Variables, it's hard to change the value for the end user usually has no right to access EAS.
Is there others ways to solve this problem?

How to make third-octave analysis program?

"I want to make a program which can do Third-Octave Analysis. But I haven't any DAQ device of NI company. I use a DAQ device of Nicolet company. That device can tranfer the acquired data as a file to a computer, and then I can use a software to transform the data into ASCII format. The DAQ device hasn't an anti-alias filter. How can I make the program with LabView? My version of LabView is 5.1."

The task that you are inquiring about could become quite complicated. for
example, if you are performing acoustical analysis then frequency and power
become your primary points of interest. However if you are performing
analysis of shock and vibration then additional processing will be required.

Question about ERMS push

I am prototyping the ERMS push solution in CRM7 and have some questions about the solution SAP help provided.
Below is the detail about ERMS push:
Here the e-mail is first handled by the e-mail pull mechanism: it is converted into a
SAPoffice mail and analyzed by ERMS to find out more details about the mail (like language and certain keywords).
Then the mail (including the additional information from the ERMS analysis) is transferred to the
CMS (Communication Management Software). The CMS determines the appropriate agent team and
dispatches the mail via the push process to an available agent of that team.

I have below questions about the solution in the help link:
1. It mentioned about the email profile (set the agent inbox as email provider) and I changed the u201Cdefaultu201D profile delivered by sap. I setup the rule policy according to the help and assigned it in the service manager profile. The purpose of ERMS push is to push email to CMS instead of sending to agent inbox using ERMS. Which business role should this email profile be assigned to? Is it IC_agent?
2. The help also mentioned about setup u201CERMS_ACTIONu201D as communication system ID in CRMM_BCB_ADM. Does this ID need to be added in the CMS profile? If so, which business role should this CMS profile be assigned to? Is it IC_Agent?
3. The ERMS uses workflow WS00200001. After the email is pushed to CMS, what status should the workflow be, in progress or complete? Also does it suppose to have agent assigned in the workflow task?
4. After the CMS pushes the email back to CRM, it will be a pop up for agent to accept or reject. Will it create an interaction record once the agent clicks the accept?
It would be great if you could shed some light on this.

Let me see if I can help address some of your questions.
1) It doesn't matter which business role you use. You can copy IC_AGENT for example. The important thing is, as Mariusz mentions in this thread, [ERMS email push: problem with CAD and transfer;,your E-Mail profile must be set for E-Mail Provider = 2 (Agent Inbox).
2) No, this ID itself does not need to be added to any business role (as I assume it is hardcoded in the SAP workflow as Mariusz mentions).
3) From what I remember, the ERMS Push emails are not set to complete by the system, and therefore can still get inadvertantly routed to agents! I recommend to have a second rule in your Rule Modeler policy to route the ERMS Push emails to a special, separate queue where you can close them out easily without worrying about them getting assigned to any agents!
4) Yes, the email will arrive like a phone call with the accept/reject buttons flashing (though it will show as an email, not a phone call). And yes, when the agent accepts an Interaction Record will be created by the system automatically.

A Question about LV Database Connectivity Toolkit

Hello everyone!
I have a question about using LabVIEW DataBase Connectivity Toolkit 1.0.2 that eagerly needs your help. I don't know how to programmaticlly create a new Microsoft Access(.mdb)file (Not a new table in a existing Database)using LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit1.0.2. As you know, usually we can set up the connection by creating a Universal Data Link (.udl) file and inputting the path to the DB Tools Open Connec VI in the LabVIEW DataBase Connectivity Toolkit. However, searching a table within an existing database containing a great many tables is a toilfulif job. If I want to use a new DataBase file with the date and time string as its name to log my acquisition data in each measurement process, how to do? I am sure someone of you must can resolve my question, and thanks very much for your help.

I don't know what your real design considerations are here but, from I understand from your post, this is a really bad way to go about the process of logging data -- IF you want to be able to do significant ad hoc or stored procedures analyses after it has been collected. Using separate MDB files for data that ONLY differs by one field (namely that date) is not the most efficient way to organize it. What would be much more efficient would a joined table including the date and a reference ID of some sort for the various measurements that were done. That way your stored procedures for looking at ALL measurements of type X would be very simple going across ALL dates. Making such a comparison across multiple MDB files is a much more challenging process AND doing the original data collection in that way doesn't really gain you anything.
Generally, if something is difficult to do in the DCT (Database Connectivity Toolkit) it's because it's a "not good thing" to do within MDBs. I know that others probably disagree with that but I've worked with Access since it's initial release and other RDBMs prior to that both through compiled tools, Unix scripts, etc. You may, of course, still choose to proceed in the way you've described and that may work excellently for you.

Some generic questions about JMF

Hi, as new to JMF, I would like to ask some generic questions about JMF from this community
Though including RTP stack, JMF is only compatible to old RTP draft, RFC1889. I know that Sun stopped developing/supporting JMF. What is the alternative solution for JAVA RTP implementation suitable for a serious SERVER project, not just a school-term project? Has anyone thought about that or may have already moved forward? Is that any commercial or more updated Java based RTP stack currently? I searched with google. Besides jrtp, a school project, and I could not find a nice one. Majority of RTPstack implementation is C/C++.
My second question is if there is the performance analysis and comparison of JMF. I know that some client applications such as SIP-Communicator adopt JMF for media delivery. But it is for one user in one machine. I wonder if any server application has adopt JMF as media relaying layer.
I appreciate any input from this community.

It's obviously not from Sun, but it's the only other RTP-capable project I am aware of, other than FOBS4Java, I believe is the name of it.

I have some questions about repositories and if anyone could answer IÂ´ll be very grateful.
What does it contains? Data or objects without data?
How does it works together with a database, I mean, when there is a DML sentence where are those changes apply? In the database, in the repository, both...
The first time you install a repository how can you insert data on it, I mean do you have to import objects from the schemas, you donÂ´t have to do it if both are in the same database...
And If any of you knows a good guide or any doc to learn more about the uses of a repository with an oracle database please tell me.

Oracle Designer is a CASE tool, that is, a tool for capturing and analysing requirements, designing a system and (optionally) generating it. This is all data, which is stored in the repository. Think of it as any other application.
Once analyzed, designed and modelled the deployed application will run against some other database not the repository.
I mean, do I have to do the changes on the database or in the designer toolsAs a DBA I would not expect you normally to touch the repository, except for the usual things (checking tablespace growth, etc). Are you also supposed to be the Repository administrator?
Anyway, the data model and integrity rules in the respository are very complicated and you do not want to tool around with SQL in the repository; use the Designer tools. Howvever, Oracle do provide a suite of PL/SQL packages - teh Repository API - which do allow us to manipulate the data programmatically. This can be very handy when we need to do reetitive tasks on a large number of elements.

Question about Page Builder behavior - how to get a "please wait message" ?

Hi all together,
I got a question about Portal Framework / Page Buider handling iView Integration.
We are working with a lot of App Integrator iViews and often the pages includes with app integrator are loading longer than the rest of the portal. So there is the idea to put in a "please wait while loading message" for the enduser.
I analysed the html code, the page builder is generating and foud out 3 diffrent approaches how the page buider is rendering the IFRAME with the integrated application configured with an app integrator iView.
My question is how can I influence this behavior to put a "please wait while loading message"?
Different types of iView integration in the client I have seen:
a) direct loading of the content in the IFRAME (<iframe id="" ... scr="/mysource">)
b) Filling the iframe with 'about:blank' and loading the content later by filling a form with JS
( <iframe id="" .... scr="about:blank">and after the iframe <form id="" action="mysource" ...>
c) Filling the iframe with a html file from the portal layout and loading the content later by filling a form with JS (similar to b)
( <iframe id=""" ....scr="/irj/portalapps/com.sap.test.mylayout/html/blank.html>
I checked that variant b) is getting generated when loading a page with different components on the side (not only the app integrator iview) and variant c) is generated when just one app integrator iView is positioned (no portal page).
Goal: To get the "please wait picture" I want to know how to get variant c) in cases of different elements on one page
So I would be able to put this picture on the HTML-Page in the Portal layout (blank.html)
Hope, someone with a deep portal / page builder know-how can help me out!
Another way: Does anybody knows another way how to put a "please wait message" while app integrator application is not loaded yet?

Hi Jens,
there are several reasons why you don't get the loading animation:
Web Dynpro ABAP: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1432358 -> missing configuration
Wrong height size for iView: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1358494 -> alter configuration of the iFrame height (loading animation gets displayed, but is hidden)
FPN, BSP, BEx: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1290995 -> AI isn't showing the animation because of performance considerations. I guess that is your case. Depending on your portal version this is a simple service configuration or involves some customization.

Applying of FFT and Octaves analysis to an analog input

Is it posible to aply, in real time, with LabVIEW 5.0 an FFT and Octaves analysis to an analog input obtained with a Labpc 1200? If yes could you please give me a hinch? Thank you very much.

There is basic FFT analysis built into the libraries that ship with LabVIEW Full Development System (FDS). However I would recommend considering the Sound & Vibration toolkit as an add on for LabVIEW. This contains more complete FFT analysis solutions (including averaged FFT analysers) and has a complete range of octave analysis (full and fractional analysis).
The examples are very good and even if you haven't had much experience of using traditional boxed FFT/octave analysers you will quickly be in a position to have a good working application up and running.
This brings me onto the question of the board that you are using. Depending on the type of signals that you are working with, you may find that there are a number of limitations to using the Lab-PC-1200.
1. The board has only 12-bit ADCs which therefore gives a maximum dynamic range of approx 72dB. A 16-bit board would offer a wider dynamic range of 96dB while some of the dedicate signal/audio analyser boards on offer from NI have 24-bit ADCs and a dynamic range of 120dB.
2. If you are analysing more than one channel and are looking at phase measurements (i.e. stereo if it is audio you are acquiring) you will be limited by the architecture of the Lab-PC-1200. This board uses a multiplexer to switch from one channel to another. This will automatically insert a phase error into the measurements that you take. An example of where this might be a problem would be if you were analysing the response from two audio speakers, or trying to analyse the performace of an object to vibration using multiple accelerometers. Dedicated boards on offer from NI (NI 44xx range) have simultaneous sampling inputs and these get around these phase problems.
The analysis that you perform with such a board all takes places on the host computer i.e. your Windows PC. As such you comment "is it possible to apply, in real time..." will depend entirely on the specification of your PC. NI does offer a few boards that will allow FFT and octave analysis to be performed on the actual DAQ board itself (NI 45xx range of dynamic signal analysers).
So in summary, consider the Sound & Vibration toolkit and also consider the limitations of the Lab-PC-1200. It may not be the best choose - but if you are stuck with the board, you can still develop a suitable LabVIEW application and if possible upgrade the hardware sometime in the future (the code should not need to change if you change the board).

A question about the example "Filter"

I have a question about the example "Filter (The Filter example illustrates how to filter data using a butterworth filter)" in the measurement studio reference now, it is one of the analysis examples.
I load this example in Vc++, but when I compile it, the error messages are:

Hi,
I was hoping that you could tell me what version and edition you have of Measurement Studio. I also need to know if you are using .NET or 6.0. For example, "I am using Mesurement Studio Enterprise edition 7.1 for Visual Studio .NET."
Depending on the version that you have, different functions and controls are included. I believe that you may have an edition that does not include the Butterworth filter. Let me know and we can go from there.

I am an HP employee.

My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday. I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank. When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message. The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
