Question about Quality Gate Management

Hi Solman profis,
I have questions about the transport requests in QGM.
My Solution Manager is 7.1.
I have a Solman project, in which I activated QGM and created a Change and created two transport requests (one workbench, one customizing) attached to it, .
I'm little bit confused by the concept.
My questions are:
1. Why I cannot see the transport requests that I created previously in the DEV system manually? If it's normal, for which reason is this designed like this? If it's not normal, how can I configure to see those requests?
2. What is the difference between the Change here in QGM and the Change in ChaRM?
3. In practice, how should the transport requests be created? By the developer in DEV systems, or by the responsibles in Solution Manager Workbench (Change Management Workbench)?
Thanks a lot!

For the 3rd question, I think TRs should be created in Change Management Workcenter, is it the correct process?
For the other questions, can somebody give some input?

  • Quality Gate Management workflow

    Hi Gurus,
I have successfully implemented Quality Gate Management POC for a 4 System Landscape.I have few questions.
    My questions are:
    1. Can we have control on moving only block of change requests at any specific point of time to PRODUCTION
For Eg: Let us suppose there are 50 Change Requests which are pending to move to PRODUCTION. Can I move only 25 Change Requests at a specific time and the other 25 at some other time to PRODUCTION instead of moving all the 50 at a time (the option START IMPORT will move all the CHANGE REQUESTS into PRODUCTION at one time)? I am able to move only specific block of Change Requests from DEV to QUALITY. But not from QUALITY to PRODUCTION.
    2. Is there any possibilty of using the CROSS SYSTEM OBJECT LOCKING in QGM without using CHARM?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

  • Quality Gate Management - new features in SPS 23 but no documentation

    Dear SDN Members,
After an update to SPS 24, we noticed 2 new buttons in a Quality Gate project:
    - Reassign Transport Requests
    - Distribute Transport of Copies
I can imagine the functionality of both by deduction from what is available in CHaRM.
It is nevertheless impossible to find further documentation.
So, any help on how to configure and / or use these functions will be appreciated.
    Regards.

    Hello Jos,
    please see the below links:

https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/e2e -> change control management : Quality Gate Management
    for a detailed documentation
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smehp1/helpdata/en/b3/64c33af662c514e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
-> Under Change Request Management and Change Management click on Quality Gate Management
    - Reassign Transport Requests
    - Distribute Transport of Copies
are two functionalities that existed even before Quality Gate concept. Those were available in tasklists and change documents of Change Request Management of Solman.
You ll definitely find more info on both on this forum by sarching transport of copie and transport request reassignment.
One more thing : for the reassignment of TR; it does nt allow you moving a TR from a Solman project to another. It only let you assign an open (modifiable) in a dev satelilite system to a CTS project (linked to a Solman Project) so you can manage its release and import from Solman
    Hope this helps

  • A question about the IE management of session id

Hi, guys! I have a question about the IE browser management of session id.
As we know, firefox browser will use cookie to record session id, so if we delete the cookie files then the client can't find target session.
But it's not the same as IE browser.I found I already can find target session after I delete the cookies.
Then I think maybe IE browser use URL rewrite mechanism(GET request) and hidden text mechanism(POST request), but I'm not sure!
Or maybe IE browser use current IE window process's cache to record the session id?
Please help me, thank you very much in advance!
I'm Chinese, my English is so bad, please understand, thanks.

Thank you for your answer, but I still have a question.
Can you tell me how your deleting cookies works? I just use IE browser tools->Internet Options->Delete Cookies to delete my cookie, but the session still can be retrieved! Just like you said, the session id is kept in the memory.
But if I use firefox to do the same operations, the session will can't be retrieved.Does that mean firefox not only delete cookies' files but also delete them in the memory.
Can I use IE browser to do the same effect as firefox browser? And how to do? Thank you.

  • A question about quality loss...

If I export one track (or several tracks) from GB to iTunes, and then import the resulting AIFF-file back onto a GB track (ie. if I want to collide a number of tracks), does any quality loss occur?
If I export one or several GB track(s) to iTunes, then open and edit the resulting file with Audacity, and then import the new, resulting file back onto a GB track, does any quality loss occur? (Disregarding, of course, any editing or tweaking I might have done in Audacity...)
If I repeat either of these processes with a sound file, say, 30 times, does any quality loss occur?
Or perhaps a better way to phrase the question: Does bouncing the same sound file back and forth between AIFF and WAV formats, by exporting and importing, have an influence on its sound quality?
When exporting from GB, I always try to export it turned up as loud as it will go without distorting. Often, my aim is to level it out and make it louder (or make it seem louder) in Audacity, and I have this vague idea that it is better to do this with a GB file that is already as loud as possible, rather than one that could easily have been louder. Sort of a signal-to-noise-ratio thing... Is that a correct assumption?
Should you always, and under all circumstances, keep sounds/tracks from moving into the red area in the meters in GB before exporting a track/song?

If you captured using TIme Code, and you still have the (properly labeled) original tapes with no breaks in Time Code, you can safely trash your Media files as FCP will accurately recapture if needed in the future. But if you used Capture Now, without time code. you’ll need to preserve the original Media Files as they can’t be accurately re-captured.
All still images, Motion files, Titles etc etc should also be preserved in the same folder as your Project File.
If you just want to save your movie as it is, you can print to video - BUT . . . it will only give you an replica of the movie - there will be no clips to edit in the future and all transitions are embedded, so they can't be edited either.
If you had several audio tracks, they'll be boiled down to one track - so no editing there either.
Alternatively, use Media Manager to copy the project to one folder on an external drive - giving it a new name. (MM can move just the part of a long Media File that's needed - and junk the rest) .
This will free-up loads of space if you have large or duplicated Media Files.
Then, after you're satisfied that the new project will play from that drive, you can trash the original. But remember, MM won't copy Motion files etc etc - check that everything's there before you trash the original. I like to make certain of this by having the drive which contains the original, disconnected when playing back the copy. You can't be too certain!
Render files can be trashed as you can re-render at any time.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi There,
I had seen a similar issue here. The error log has a point mentioning " ApplyUpdates: Unable to load QFE file."
I saw this error on this below thread as well.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a10ce69e-2584-4a4d-86b9-64ee8c5bf85d/reporting-services-installation-failing?forum=operationsmanagerreporting
He said he fully re installed the whole setup and it solved the issue.
But i understand that is quiet difficult and complicated to do.
    =================================================
I would suggest you check the permissions again
1.Does your data reader and writer account have SQL permissions i.e sysadmin permissions ?
2.Also is your SQL server in the same AD Domain or is it in a different domain ?
3.Is the SQL Server scale of deployment joined ?
    4. Did you look in the ops manager event logs ? Can you check and post them here plz.
    5. Is the operationsmanager DB and warehouse DB as well hosted on the same SQL server where you are trying to install reporting.

  • Question about how Oracle manages Redo Log Files

    Good morning,
Assuming a configuration that consists of 2 redo log groups (Group A and B), each group consisting of 2 disks (Disks A1 & A2 for Group A and Disks B1 and B2 for group B). Further, let's assume that each redo log file resides by itself in a disk storage device and that the device is dedicated to it. Therefore in the above scenario, there are 4 disks, one for each redo log file and, each disk contains nothing else other than a redo log file. Furthermore, let's assume that the database is in ARCHIVELOG mode and that the archive files are stored on yet another different set of devices.
    sort of graphically:
        GROUP A             GROUP B
          A1                  B1
A2                  B2The question is: When the disks that comprise Group A are filled and Oracle switches to the disks in Group B, can the disks in Group A be taken offline, maybe even physically removed from the system if necessary, without affecting the proper operation of the database ? Can the Archiver process be temporarily delayed until the disks (that were removed) are brought back online or is the DBA forced to wait until the Archiver process has finished creating a copy of the redo log file into the archive ?
    Thank you for your help,
    John.

    Hello,
    Dropping Log Groups
To drop an online redo log group, you must have the ALTER DATABASE system privilege. Before dropping an online redo log group, consider the following restrictions and precautions:
    * An instance requires at least two groups of online redo log files, regardless of the number of members in the groups. (A group is one or more members.)
    * You can drop an online redo log group only if it is inactive. If you need to drop the current group, first force a log switch to occur.
    * Make sure an online redo log group is archived (if archiving is enabled) before dropping it. To see whether this has happened, use the V$LOG view.
    SELECT GROUP#, ARCHIVED, STATUS FROM V$LOG;
    GROUP# ARC STATUS
    1 YES ACTIVE
    2 NO CURRENT
    3 YES INACTIVE
    4 YES INACTIVE
Drop an online redo log group with the SQL statement ALTER DATABASE with the DROP LOGFILE clause.
The following statement drops redo log group number 3:
    ALTER DATABASE DROP LOGFILE GROUP 3;
When an online redo log group is dropped from the database, and you are not using the Oracle Managed Files feature, the operating system files are not deleted from disk. Rather, the control files of the associated database are updated to drop the members of the group from the database structure. After dropping an online redo log group, make sure that the drop completed successfully, and then use the appropriate operating system command to delete the dropped online redo log files.
When using Oracle-managed files, the cleanup of operating systems files is done automatically for you.
Your Database wont be affected as you can operate with 2 redo log files in each group as The minimum number of redo log files required in a database is two because the LGWR (log writer) process writes to the redo log files in a circular manner. so the process will hang becuase you are having 2 only groups if you want to remove 1 add a third one and make it the current group then remove the one you want to be offline.

  • Some questions about quality of displayed video, matching scaled object, and a funny issue occurs in my VI

    Hi,
I am doing a pattern recognition project and come up with a VI (please find attached). There are something I am not sure and would like to ask:
    1. The VI works, but in a funny way: most of the time I have to switch the "Create Template/Search for pattern" button twice in order to get the VI works fine (there were only a few times I just need to click the button once). What is the problem here and how to fix it?
    2. I understand that IMAQ Match Pattern works with RGB images. So is there anyway I still can get RGB images pass through IMAQ Learn Pattern, IMAQ Match Pattern, whilst the 2 "Template" and resulting "Image" are still displayed in color mode.
    3. Is there anyway I can still detect the object if scaling becomes an issue (as I need to move from far distance to approach the object)? To address this issue, do I need to use IMAQ Match Geometric Pattern, which I learn from somewhere in the forum that it took a lot more time to match my result comparing with IMAQ Match Pattern?
    Thanks very much.
    Solved!

Sorry about silly question 2 (RGB <--> color). Actually, in my VI all the IMAQ Extract, IMAQ Pattern Match, etc.. can only work with Grayscale (U8) images. Whenever I switch the images to RGB (U32) there will be errors of Incompatible image type (error-1074396077). As I understand, IMAQ Extract and IMAQ Pattern Match should be able to work with RGB (U32) images. Am I right?

  • Question about Golden Gate

    Hello,
My objective is to learn how to install, use and configure Golden Gate on a 32bit Windows XP Platform (it's a training box).
I went to edelivery and found quite a number of possible downloads, among them are:
    1. Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
    2. Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters 11.1.1.0.0 for JMS and Flat File Media Pack
    3. Oracle GoldenGate on Oracle v11.1.1.0.0 Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
I am not sure what I actually need to download. Is it all three, two of the three or, just the last one ?
    Thank you for your help,
    John.

    Hi Salman,
    >
i consulted the oracle support through raising an SR because there are certain golden gate components which are at metalink as patches and oracle support personnel will help you to identify what you need and provide you with the link so that you can download and install.
    >
It sounds like I may be out of luck. I do not have access to Metalink.
I will download the middleware stuff and try to figure things out from there.
Thank you for your help Salman,

  • Question about 4500X VSS management port

I have two standalone 4500X switches that I'm planning to convert to VSS. If I cable the management port on both switches to a management cloud, which management port should I put the management IP address? Is it the port on the active switch? if the active switch failed, would the management port on the standby switch take over the management IP?
The management port is in VRF mgmtVrf. Should I create a default route for the VRF such as "ip route vrf mgmtvrf 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ....." to point to its default gateway IP?
    Thanks

When you convert the chassis to VSS, only the management interfaces (FastEthernet1) for switch-1 (active) will be visible in the config.  So you want to cable both management interfaces to your management cloud, but you only apply the IP to the active switch.
The management port is in VRF mgmtVrf. Should I create a default route for the VRF such as "ip route vrf mgmtvrf 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ....." to point to its default gateway IP?
Correct, you need a default route in that mgmt vrf pointing to the gateway.

My qestion is when I highlight entry and click on RFC pushbotton there is no such as I can change or Edit entry or I can't delete that Row ?
How can I do that please advised
    Thanks

    Hi there,
If I follow what you're saying, you want to delete one of your clients from your system in txn SMSY.  Per the SAP online help (see below), you need to switch to "manual" maintenance mode, as it is assumed that your system's data was populated automatically.  See the online help below and try what it suggests. Note: I'm on SOLMAN 4.0, SP15.  In SMSY there is no "Landscape Components ® Other Object" option.  It is actually the button just to the left of the pencil (Change) button whose text says "Other Object..".  Click that button, then click the System radio button, then put in your system's system name (ie Q01), then click the button on that pop-up that looks like an unlocked lock, then click Yes on the pop-up after that, then click on the greencheck button(s) until you're back in SMSY.  You may have to re-click on your "R/3 Server" link to get back to the client tab/screen.  Make sure you go back into Change mode and then your "delete" button will be available.
FYI - just below here is the online help for what I described above. Below that I've included comments of what I did when I did this myself.
    Manual Data Source Maintenance
    Use
You cannot edit all data manually in servers, databases and systems which were determined automatically. You can set the data source to manual maintenance, to be able to edit all data in this landscape element manually.
You should only set the data source to manual maintenance if the automatically captured description does not match the actual definiton of the landscape component. This can, for example, be the case if a system temporarily has an additional server, which is recognized by the automatic data capture, but should not be in the system description because it is only temporary.
    Prerequisite
You are in the Solution Manager System Landscape (SMSY).
    Procedure
           1.      Choose Landscape Components ® Other Object, or
           2.      Choose the landscape component from the possible entries help, or enter the name of the landscape component.
           3.      Choose the Set Data Source to Manual Input pushbutton.
           4.      Confirm the confirmation prompt.
    END of ONLINE HELP section
Below is the text from the pop-up msg after I clicked on the button (for my Q01 system) in the "Select Other Object" pop-up called "Set Data Source to Manual Input".  That button looks like a unlocked lock symbol.
    Switch object to manual maintenance
You switch an object to manual maintenance to be
able to edit the object description determined
    by the system, manually.
You should only do this if the automatically
determined description does not match the
definiton of the object. This can, for example,
be the case if a system temporarily has an
additional server which is recognized by the
automatic data capture, but should not be in the
system description, because it is only
    temporary.
Do not delete any required parts of the object
definition, and keep the definition of the
    object consistent.
    Switch Q01 to Manual Entry?
