Question about selling my extra galaxy s3

I ordered an extra galaxy s3 and would like to sell it, it should be arriving today. Since my contract is already extended when I checked online, do I have to still activate? I would like to keep it in the box to sell as new.

Just to update.  Got of the phone with verizon and was told as long as your contract is extended you dont need to activate the phone.

  • Question about Selling Logic Express 9

    I gave my macbook pro away as a gift and am now going to sell Logic Express 9.
    I realize I won't get much for it, but how do I go about selling this regarding registry transfer?
    thanks for any help!

    You can start by checking the EULA (http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/logicexpress.pdf), but basically you just need to make sure that LE9 is deleted from the MacBook Pro and you give all the installation discs, manuals, and serial numbers to the buyer.  This is the proper, legal way to do it.
    Registration is optional and doesn't really play any legal role in purchasing or transferring a license.  Having said that, if you have registered LE9 and the buyer tries to register it after purchasing from you, Apple will have questions.  If you think the buyer will want to register LE9 then you will have to call Apple support to confirm the sale & transfer.  Again, registration is optional and not required for a legal sale/transfer of a license (as long as you delete your copy).

  • Question about adding an Extra Node to SOFS cluster

    Hi, I have a fully functioning SOFS cluster, with two nodes, it uses SAN FC storage, Not SAS JBODS. its running about 100VM's in production at the moment.
    Both my nodes currently sit on one blade chassis, but for resiliency, I want to add another node from a blade chassis in our secondary onsite smaller DC.
    I've done plenty of cluster node upgrades before on SQL and Hyper-V , but never with a SOFS cluster.
    I have the third node fully prepaired, it can see the Disks the FC Luns, on the SAN (using powerpath, disk manager) and all the roles are installed.
    so in theory I can just add this node in the cluster manager and it should all be good, my question is has anyone else done this, and is there anything else I should be aware of, and what's the best way to check the new node will function , and be able
    to migrate the File role over without issues. I know I can run a validation when adding the node, I presume this is the best option ?
    cannot find much information on the web about expanding a SOFS cluster.
    any advice or information would be greatfully received !!
    cheers
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    Sorry for the delay in reply.
    As you said there is no much information which related to add a node to a SOFS cluster.
    The only ones I could find is related to System Center (VMM):
    How to Add a Node to a Scale-Out File Server in VMM
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn466530.aspx
    However adding a node to SOFS cluster should be simple as you just prepared. You can have a try and see the result.

  • Question about selling ipod

    I am thinking of selling my iPod. Now I have already registered it with apple. I do have the applcare which I just bought, but was wondering about can everything be transfered overt to the new owner like registration and all of that stuff. I know applcares are transferable (at least on computers) but what steps should I take in preparing the ipod for sale (like making it like a new ipod when it is connected for the first time. ect ect)

    1. Currently registered under my name. how do I change Production Registration info if new owner wants to register??
    You can't change this (and it's not really necessary as it's no longer under warranty).
    2. Is there a website that can estimate the value of my iPod? Good condition / no screen crack. ??
    I don't know of any such website. The last time I sold an iPod I checked eBay and a couple of other local selling sites to see what prices they were fetching.

  • Questions about selling content on iTunes

    Hi everyone,
    We are preparing to start selling audiobooks and applications of our own production on iTunes.
    I was not able to find direct answers to the following questions on Apple's support portal:
    1. Are there any requirements on the number of songs in an album?
    2. How much does Apple take from sales of tracks, albums and applications?
    3. Can we set prices for individual tracks and whole albums?
    Thanks!

    Can someone at least point me somewhere where I can find this information?

  • Question about selling

    Hello, I have an Iphone 4s 32g white and i want to sell it soon so i can get the 5.
    How much could i get for it, it has no scratches, no marks expect it apparently has water damage but it has no shown any signs of it.
    I got the box for it and unlocked
    Thanks

    No one asked about "marks."  Were the water sensors triggered as shown, voiding what would have been a transferable warranty?
    THE RED WATER SENSORS ARE INSIDE THE HEADSET JACK AND DOCK  CONNECTOR, not "on" the phone.

    AGAIN, how was it unlocked?

  • Question about selling 2G

    So today i upgraded to the 3GS. I want to sell my old 2G so i reset the whole phone. do i sell it with the old sim card or do i keep it?

    I upgraded from a 2G to the 3GS as well. Apple tells you to leave the SIM in the phone and to do these steps (on the phone itself, not in iTunes):
    *To erase your original iPhone so someone else can use it, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings on your original iPhone. Remember to keep your original iPhone SIM with your original iPhone.* Here's the link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109
    This will protect your info, so that no one else can get it. I sold my iPhone to Gazelle.com and I got $125 plus an additional 10% for a total of $138 by using the promo code "iPhone". I thought that was a great price. They even pay shipping. It was SO much easier than selling it on eBay, plus there were no charges to pay and I got as much as or more than they were going for on eBay.

  • Question about selling 1st generation iPhone

    I am looking to sell my 1st generation iphone, would it be wise to pull out my sim card so I could use for the 3g or would I get a new one when I purchase the 3g

    You will get a new GSM SIM card when you purchase the 3G. Your account will be transferred to the new SIM when you activate it. Your old SIM is useless at that point, and can be discarded. The person buying the old iPhone will need to put in their own SIM.

  • Questions About Selling My Macbook

    I decided to upgrade my 2007, 13" macook to a new Air and ever since then, the old macbook is collecting dust. I want to sell it on eBay, Craigslist, something like that. When I sell it, how do I clear out my account information and any other necessary items in the computer for the new buyer? I don't have any major personal items on this computer so I don't want to go through all the bother of formatting the drive and such. What are the steps I need to do to get this machine back to factory defaults without spending a huge amount of time? Thanks!

    The gray install disks from Apple cost $16 per disk plus S & H so for most Macs that would be $32 plus S & H. Or you could get a Snow Leopard install disk for $29. But that won't have the iLife that comes with the gray disks.
    Getting gray disks of of eBay is a crap shoot. They are matched to a specific machine. But you would be safe in getting a full install retail disk. Those will work with all Macs.

  • Question about UltraBeat

    Hi. I am concidering jumping from Ableton Live to Logic Pro in my home studio. Live has been a great learning software for me in the beginning of my audio endeavours. However, I feel I am ready to take on Logic in the studio and keep Live for, well, live performances.
    Anyway, one instrument I am excited about is Ultrabeat. Ultrabeat's oscillators as well as sample playback combined into one interface specificly for drums seems extremely useful. This is one area where my workflow has been struggling lately. I am tired of always sampling as well as using monster synths to make a simple kick.
    My question about Ultrabeat is, once you make a hit with an oscillator, do you save it as a sample and load it in another area of the instrument for playback? Or, does it playback entirely from the oscillator? If it always remains in the oscillator, are you able to make several differnt settings with the oscillators and jump between them as you select voices, as well as playback all of them at once? That seems unlikely.
    Please enlighten me on Ultrabeat a bit. I tried to download the express demo to toy around with it a bit myself but the link is broken on Apple's site.
    Also, if you have an extra moment, please share your feelings of Logic. If I make the jump, will I ever look back?
    Thanks for your time!

    Wow. Thanks for your helpful reply.
    Sounds like I have all I need at the moment and just need to learn to use it to it's full potential first.
    I was looking to Logic for:
    A: Ultrabeat seems inspiring and useful with the built in oscillators, pattern sequencer, and user interface. I currently have Battery 3 and have been attempting to utilize it well with Live but I can't stand not having a drum map editor to sequence it. I asked for a feature to have the option to choose either a drum map editor or standard piano map editor per midi track. This would be a cozy workflow helper for me. Maybe Live will listen and add this in 7.
    B: Surround sound capabilities. I have the Presonus FireStudio and MSR remote so I plan to add rear, center and sub channels in the semi-near future. This may be coming in Live 7 also!
    C: Ability to link CPU's for extra DSP.
    D: I felt once I really got into Logic that it would likely be more professional quality overall.
    F: I have a new Mac Pro Dual 2.66 Intel Core Duo arriving today. I thought Logic would utalize it's power best. I know Live, since 6, is multi-processor aware. However, I'm not sure about the dual core part.
    E: Apple has me hypnotized.
    Now, since purchasing Live I have also obtained Operator and Sampler. I also have every Native Instrument plug including Massive via Komplete 4.
    I also have Wave Arts PowerSuie 5 which gives me sidechaining. I wondered how the Trackplug 5 compressors compared to Logic's.
    I was considering selling my PowerSuite 5 and Komplete 4 if I was happy with Logic's instruments. I felt making the switch may be smarter in the long run for studio use. There are certain features in automation drawing that I want that Live does not have as well. I was thinking Logic being considered "pro app" may address some details that Live doesn't today. However, I agree that Live is bug-free and constantly updated. Live may grow as I need it to as I grow as a producer.
    Bottom line, I should wait a few months and see what Live 7 offers before i make a final decision.
    Thanks for your reply!
    I still wouldn't mind more opinions either.

  • A question about the impact of SQL*PLUS SERVEROUTPUT option on v$sql

    Hello everybody,
    SQL> SELECT * FROM v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE    11.2.0.1.0  Production
    TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    SQL>
    OS : Fedora Core 17 (X86_64) Kernel 3.6.6-1.fc17.x86_64I would like to ask a question about the SQL*Plus SET SERVEROUTPUT ON/OFF option and its impact on queries on views such as v$sql and v$session. Here is the problem
    Actually I define three variables in SQL*Plus in order to store sid, serial# and prev_sql_id columns from v$session in order to be able to use them later, several times in different other queries, while I'm still working in the current session.
    So, here is how I proceed
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;  -- I often activate this option as the first line of almost all of my SQL-PL/SQL script files
    SET SQLBLANKLINES ON;
    VARIABLE mysid NUMBER
    VARIABLE myserial# NUMBER;
    VARIABLE saved_sql_id VARCHAR2(13);
    -- So first I store sid and serial# for the current session
    BEGIN
        SELECT sid, serial# INTO :mysid, :myserial#
        FROM v$session
        WHERE audsid = SYS_CONTEXT('UserEnv', 'SessionId');
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    -- Just check to see the result
    SQL> SELECT :mysid, :myserial# FROM DUAL;
        :MYSID :MYSERIAL#
           129   1067
    SQL> Now, let's say that I want to run the following query as the last SQL statement run within my current session
    SELECT * FROM employees WHERE salary >= 2800 AND ROWNUM <= 10;According to Oracle® Database Reference 11g Release 2 (11.2) description for v$session
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/dynviews_3016.htm#REFRN30223]
    the column prev_sql_id includes the sql_id of the last sql statement executed for the given sid and serial# which in the case of my example, it will be the above mentioned SELECT query on the employees table. As a result, right after the SELECT statement on the employees table I run the following
    BEGIN
        SELECT prev_sql_id INTO :saved_sql_id
        FROM v$session
        WHERE sid = :mysid AND serial# = :myserial#;
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> SELECT :saved_sql_id FROM DUAL;
    :SAVED_SQL_ID
    9babjv8yq8ru3
    SQL> Having the value of sql_id, I'm supposed to find all information about cursor(s) for my SELECT statement and also its sql_text value in v$sql. Yet here is what I get when I query v$sql upon the stored sql_id
    SELECT child_number, sql_id, sql_text
    FROM v$sql
    WHERE sql_id = :saved_sql_id;
    CHILD_NUMBER   SQL_ID          SQL_TEXT
    0              9babjv8yq8ru3    BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.GET_LINES(:LINES, :NUMLINES); END;Therefore instead of
    SELECT * FROM employees WHERE salary >= 2800 AND ROWNUM <= 10;for the value of sql_text I get the following value
    BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.GET_LINES(:LINES, :NUMLINES);Which is not of course what I was expecting to find in v$sql for the given sql_id.
    After a bit googling I found the following thread on the OTN forum where it had been suggested (well I think maybe not exactly for the same problem) to turn off SERVEROUTPUT.
    Problem with dbms_xplan.display_cursor
    This was precisely what I did
    SET SERVEROUTPUT OFFafter that I repeated the whole procedure and this time everything worked pretty well as expected. I checked SQL*Plus documentation for SERVEROUTPUT
    and also v$session page, yet I didn't find anything indicating that SERVEROUTPUT should be switched off whenever views such as v$sql, v$session
    are queired. I don't really understand the link in terms of impact that one can have on the other or better to say rather, why there is an impact
    Could anyone kindly make some clarification?
    thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Dariyoosh

    Hi Dariyoosh,
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON has the effect of executing dbms_output.get_lines after each and every statement. Not only related to system view.
    Here below what Tom Kyte is explaining in this page:
    Now, sqlplus sees this functionality and says "hey, would not it be nice for me to dump this buffer to screen for the user?". So, they added the SQLPlus command "set serveroutput on" which does two things
    1) it tells SQLPLUS you would like it <b>to execute dbms_output.get_lines after each and every statement</b>. You would like it to do this network rounding after each call. You would like this extra overhead to take place (think of an install script with hundreds/thousands of statements to be executed -- perhaps, just perhaps you don't want this extra call after every call)
    2) SQLPLUS automatically calls the dbms_output API "enable" to turn on the buffering that happens in the package.Regards.

  • Questions about Contracts and New Phones

    I've had some questions about how upgrading and adding new lines to a contract works and I haven't been able to find the answers through Google. First some background information: We started this most recent contract in September of 2011 and as such the current contract will end September of 2013. According to the phone information portal, all three of the devices on my account will be eligible for an upgrade this Saturday (May 4th, 2013). My daughters birthday just so happens to coincide with that date and as such we were planning on surprising her by taking her to buy a new phone and we are going to allow our son to upgrade his phone as he has been asking to for a while.
    Is there any way of locking/limiting the amount of data allowed for each phone on a shared plan? I'm worried that my daughter will go way over our limit and not pay attention to the point where she will end up costing us a very large amount of money
    Does adding a new line require the start of a new contract?
    My son was interested in purchasing the "Samsung Galaxy S4" and has noticed that pre-orders for that phone are currently available. Is it possible to pre-order the phone on that date using the upgrade so that the price will be reduced?
    If the answer to number 2 is a no, does adding the new line take away the upgrades from other phones or would he be able to go to the store past the release date and upgrade then?
    Thanks for taking the time to read through all of this. Any help that I receive will be extremely appreciated.

    1. Yes. There is an additional fee per line you wish to do this for. When you add the line you can choose this option and set the data amount it is allowed to use.
    2. Yes. Each line is a separate contract with its own expiration date.
    3. The contract starts when you sign up for the contract. The amount will be pro-rated on the plan if it is not started until part-way through your billing cycle that is what you are asking. Doing the pre-order just guarantees you the phone in case they sell out.
    4. No it will not take any upgrades away as each line has its own termination date. You can move upgrades around between lines though.

  • Question about internet security...please help!

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question about the macbook's internet security.
    A few days ago I became aware that my sibling was using a laptop for internet use at my house which he got from a person that I do not trust. He is very computer-savy and we're worried that he may have installed some form of spy ware on that laptop and in turn, may have tried (or succeeded) in accessing my Macbook through some form of spyware. My house is hooked up with a D-Link wireless router, and at the time, it had no internet/access-password.
    So my question is, could this person have accessed my computer and personal information remotely by and through the laptop that my sibling got from him. I was under the impression that Mac's have very strong firewalls, but I have also heard that as long as he knew what he was doing, he could have accessed my computer. I don't have a wireless "network" set up at my house, I just simply use the router for internet. But my sibling told me that this guy was his "network administrator" which leads me to believe that he must have had remote access to the laptop.
    Can anyone with knowledge on this problem please weigh in and let me know what I need to do to confirm that no one has accessed anything from my macbook.
    Thanks!

    One option if you want to be extra safe is turning on FileVault (System Preferences -> Security), which will encrypt everything on your computer so that if somehow someone does gain access to your computer they will have a next to zero chance of being able to read anything they get from your computer. You have to have a lot of extra hard drive space on your computer to turn it on though.
    Also, a "network" is just a connection between computers, regardless of the internet is involved or not. So when you connect your computer to the router which gives you the internet, you are putting your computer on a network. Now I believe that in order for this person whom you don't trust to gain remote access to your computer, they would have to have more information such as an IP address for your computer, through the router in order to get to it.
    One thing I think is very important to consider that isn't on the technical side of things is something called "Social Engineering" which is a form of cracking, or hacking. You can do your own research, but in a nutshell Social Engineering is getting people that have access to something I'm trying to hack to give me information. For instance, this person you don't trust could be giving your brother the computer in the hopes that he will download something through your router to that laptop which could give him IP addresses and other information. And then when he gets that laptop back he could scan it for useful information and your brother wouldn't know he did anything wrong at all. The best way to avoid this is purely education and communication. Even if your brother doesn't share the same suspicions about this person, surely he will understand the need to be careful and smart when it comes to sharing personal information in the digital world.

    Hi I have a question about shooting in Raw with my Canon EOS 6d.
    I'm in the process of learning photography and my goal was to start shooting in raw.
    I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
    In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
    I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!
    Heather

    In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6.
    That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.
    Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
    I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost.
    It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
    Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.
    Camera raw, DNG | Adobe Photoshop CC
    Or you can upgrade to CS6 (non-Cloud) and pay the upgrade fee
    Creative Suite 6
    Or join the Cloud and pay the monthly fee
    Or join the Photoshop Photography Program (US9.99/month) and get PS CC+LR

  • A Question about RAW and Previews

    I have just recently starting shooting in RAW (mostly for the post production editing abilities - I am an avid amateur photographer bent on learning as much as I can). I set my camera to capture in RAW + L. I don't know why I feel like I want it to capture both the RAW and JPEG file, and thus leads me to my first question: Is it necessary to have the camera capture both the RAW and Large JPEG? I am assuming the answer to be no, as I am sure if after importing the RAW file into Aperture, you could always export a JPEG if you wanted one? So no need to fill up your internal memory (if using managed masters) with the extra JPEG? Is this thinking correct?
    Next, if you do import RAW-only files and then want to export certain images, do you have a choice to export the original RAW image? It seems that it only allows you to export a JPEG Original Size. To answer my own question, perhaps you have to export the Master in order to export the full RAW file when exporting? If you want to export a JPEG, you have to export not the Master, but a version of the Master? Is this correct?
    Lastly, I wanted to ask a question about Previews. I have my preferences set so that previews have the highest quality with no limits to size. What is the significance of setting it this way? I just assumed that if I wanted to share an image at the highest quality without exporting it, this was the way to go. Is there any validity to this? The reason I ask is that I don't want to have all of these high quality previews taking up internal disk space if I really don't need to. Is there a way to change the preview size once previews are created? Meaning, if you have it set to generate low quality previews, can you change it dynamically to high and vice versa?
    I know this is a lot in one post. Thanks for tackling it.
    Mac

    You can change the quality of the Previews in the Preferences -> Previews tab.
    You can regenerate Previews with the Delete and Update Previews under the Images menu.
