Question about SAP client setting when create new connection in CR2008

Dear All,
I have a question about SAP client setting in Crystal Report 2008 when I try to create a new connection use SAP OpenSQL(SAP Table,Cluster,or Function).
I have a SAP IDES environment with 5 clients.
While I try to create a CR standard report use SAP OpenSQL, I entered 800 into Client field in u201CUser logon credentialsu201D. The connection can be created and I can get table list. After I built a report ,I can not get data from IDES client 800, but I can get data from client 000.
I am sure client 800 has data.I checked client 800 table with Tcord se16.
I also did other tests and felt confused a lot.
Even inexistent client, such as u201C00u201Dand u201C8000u201D can be used for creating connection.
I just want to know how can I get data from client 800.

I am not sure about your suggestion clearly. What's your mean all the authorizations to use CR?
Maybe I should clarify my operations.
I logon CR2008 as administrator and created two SAP connections with different client.
There is a table named "/BEV3/CHBALLG" be showed in these connections.
I checked clients "000" and "800" both have data in the table.
I can use client 000 connection create report and get right data, but the report base on client 800 connection could not get data.
If change to another table,such as "/SAPDMC/LSOFIL", I can get data both form these connections.
I found one thing is very weird. Client "00" and "8000" do not exist in my IDES environment, but I can use them for creating connection.
May I have your further suggestions?

I have a question about Web Application / servlet architecture and development, and haven't had any luck finding an answer so far. My plan must be either unusual, or wrong, or both, so I'm hoping the community here could point me in the right direction.
I have quite a bit of background in OSGi, but very little in servlets. I know my architecture would work with something such as sever-side Equinox, but for the open source project I'm contemplating, I think that the more mainstream Tomcat/servler route would be better -- assuming it can be done. Here is a rather simplified scenario:
There is a class, Manager. It could be a Java class that implements Runnable, or a non-HTTP servlet (GenericServlet?), but somehow it should be configured such that it runs as soon as Tomcat starts.
When Manager runs, it instantiates its primary member variable: Hashtable msgHash; mshHash will map Strings (usernames) to ArrayList<String> (list of messages awaiting that user). Manager also has two primary public methods: addMsg() and getMsgs().
The pseudocode for addMsg is:

if username not in msgHash { msgHash.add(username, new ArrayList<String>) }

Once Manager has started, it starts two HTTP Servlets: Sender and Receiver, passing a reference back to itself as it creates the servlets.
The HTML associated with Sender contains two text inputs (username and message) and a button (send). When the send button is pressed and data is POSTed to Sender, Sender takes it and calls Manager.addMsg(username.value, message.value);
Receiver servlet is display only. It looks in the request for HTTP GET parameter "username". When the request comes in, Receiver calls Manager.getMsgs(username) and dumps the resulting string to the browser.
In addition to starting servlets Sender and Receiver, the Manager object is also spawning other threads. For example, it might spawn a SystemResourceMonitor thread. This thread periodically wakes up, reads the available disk space and average CPU load, calls Manager.addMsg("*", diskAndLoadMsg), and goes back to sleep for a while.
I've ignored the synchronization issues in this example, but during its lifecycle Manager should be idle until it has a task to do, using for example wait() and notify(). If ever addMsg() is called where the message string is "shutdown", Manager's main loop wakes up, and Manager shuts down the two servlets and any threads that it started. Manager itself may then quit, or remain resident, awaiting a command to turn things back on.
Is any of this appropriate for servlets/Tomcat? Is there a way to do it as I outlined, or with minor tweaks? Or is this kind of application just not suited to servlets, and I should go with server-side Equinox OSGi?

You can simply create your two servlets and have them invoked through web calls, Tomcat is the only one that can manage servlets in any case. Servlets have a very short lifecycle - they stay in memory from the first time they are invoked, but the only time that they actually do something is when they are called through the webserver, generally as the result of somebody running the servlet through a webbrowser, either by navigating to it or by posting data to it from another webpage. The servlet call ends as soon as the request is completed.

Miscellanous questions about BDB XML

I'm in search for a storage solution for a Matlab app that manipulates big volumes of datas (several Gb), and so can't load them fully in memory without crashing. I also can't load / unload them each time I need a bit of these data, since it is rather long to load a file in memory (about 0.12s). So I was thinking about using a DMB like BDB XML, and I have a few questions about it :
<ul><li>What about performances to create a 3-5Gb database in a single batch ?</li>
<li>What about performances to excecute a XQuery request on a db this large ? Longer or shorter than loadin directly the file in memory ? With an index or without ?
</li>
<li> No matlab integration is provided, so I have to way : use Matlab C integration to make an interface to use BDB XML, or using the shell via an exec like command to interact with BDB ? Is the shell trick performant ? Or does it spend a lot of time parsing the input ?</li>

If you bulk load you should avoid using transactions and sync/exit the environment when you are done. Note that you should determine what indexes you might want/need before doing the load and create them. Reindexing 5GB of data will take another really large chunk of time. I recommend experimentation with indexes, queries and a small representative subset of the data.
Be sure to create a node storage container with nodes indexed.
Is this one document or many? Many is better. One 5Gb document is less than ideal but will work.

The query will likely succeed without indexes but depending on the query and the data could take a very long time. See above on experimentation first.

I would not recommend using the dbxml shell for this although you could if you really need to.

Question about trying to set up my iphone 4s

I just got my iphone 4s and I have a question about setting it up.
I don't want to screw things up, especially in terms of the ios 5 setup.
I'm not sure if the 4s comes with ios5 pre-installed.
I had an iphone 3g that was stolen a few months ago, so the last time I used itunes to synch the phone it was a 3g and whatever ios it was able to use, which wasn't even the latest ios 4, if I recall correctly.
So, when I first turn on the 4s and connect it to itunes, will I be able to simply load up my contacts, photos and music without itunes messing it up because it's a 4s rather than a 3g?
Can I treat it as a completely new phone in tunes and yet still be able to load up the contacts, photos and music that are backed up there, or would I need to re-do these things from scratch?
The contacts are minimal, so it's not a big problem to do that, and I only had a few photos and small music playlists, so these aren't a problem either.
But I don't want itunes to mess me up if I just connect the 4s to it, but if it doesn't have ios 5 loaded, then I do want to upgrade to that.

Two questions about servlets

I'd like to ask you some questons about servlets :
1) do servlets need a particular JVM on the server. I mean RMI servers need to be started on the server side, while usual applets are loading into the client browser. Are servlet beeing loaded by the browser or do they require something specific on the server side?
This is because I can only post files on my server, but can't execute java code
2) can servlets access the server files ? This is because my applets can only load files within the codebase directory on the server. However, i'd like to be able to get something like File.lisFiles() on the server's content. With applets, I have a security problem

Hi,
1) Servlets need to be run (deployed) on an application server (i.e. WebLogic, Websphere) which works in conjunction with the web server. When the web server (HTTP Server) receives a request for a servlet from a browser, it passes the request to the application server where the servlet is deployed on which handles the request and provides a response. The JVM will be included in the application server.
2) Servlets do NOT run in the sandbox that applets run in and thus have complete access to file on the server. This is because the site running the servlets know exactly what code they're deploying on their server and thus have no security concerns.
If you're site is running on an ISP's server, then you're likely out of luck unless they give you admin access to an application server that runs on their server which allows you to deploy servlets onto.

I am new to JAXP. I try to validating a xml against a schema. I wrote following code:

In the past, ColdFusion's XML validation mechanism seems to have had issues with schemas that contain imports, e.g., http://forums.adobe.com/message/155906. Have these issues still not been resolved?
Do you not think that perhaps you're answering your own question here?
I don't see an issue about this on the bug tracker. It might be an idea if you can get a simple, stand-alone repro case together and raise an issue (and post the reference back here and against that other thread so people know to vote for it). If you post the repro case here too, it would be helpful.

Question about web.xml

So in my web.xml file (for Tomcat 5.5) I used to map a servlet like this:

I posted this too soon. Using that 'wild card' it grabs the last servlet mapped in web.xml. So I commented everything out and left the file with the following(I used '*' just to keep stuff private):

Question about binary XML

It seems the binary XML storage can be schema based or non-schema based. What are the advantages of schema based over non-schema based? My XML doc could be very big, and I need to add/modify some elements without loading the whole XML doc in memory for performance reason, should my XML doc be schema based or not?

Question about blocklist.xml

OK so I was browsing thru my AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\********.default
and I acdently clicked blocklist.xml and it opened in IE would have this infected my pc i noticed it had alot of blocked urls? or emails or somthing in there.

As regards the contents of the blocklist.xml, you are safe and sound, more than you would be without it. The role of the file is to avoid trouble with questionable add-ons - Mozilla collects their source URLs on a running basis and keeps them in blocklist.xml.

Question about building xml-rpc client in swing

Hi all,
I'm going to build swing client for simple xml-rpc server, but I've little experience in swing.
My application should create kind of XmlRpcClient object. It was no problem in console application, there was one client object and that's all. Now in swing I've no idea how to do it when I have more than one frame. Is it ok to create client object in base frame and then pass its reference to other frames in constructor? Maybe there is another/better way to do this?

First, Dreamweaver is much more than a glorified FTP client! Dreamweaver is a Web site authoring and management application. That is the program you should use to build your HTML, not Fireworks.
Fireworks is a Web layout/design and graphics production application. Fireworks can export HTML or HTML and CSS, but that export ability is intended to create mockups and prototypes, not live sites. The code Fireworks creates is...well...awful. You need to learn how to write HTML from scratch, not let a graphics program write it for you.
The single .png file is also not going to work for you. The page you link to has several separate images. You need to create slices on your Fireworks document and export them as individual images, which you then reference in the HTML.

In Fireworks, you use the slicing tool (looks like a green rectangle), to draw slices over the areas you want to export as individual images. These green rectangles appear in the Web layer. You can set the export properties of each slice separately. When you export, you can export all your images, or just the images from selected slices. And I really haven't said anything, so start with the help files, then post back with specific qustions.
As to your 403 error problem, it's something with the configuration of the server, it has nothing to do with Fireworks or Dreamweaver. Read these articles:

Few questions regarding the SAP Logon Pad version identification at file level (need to findout the patch level from within any SAP GUI related file).
1) Within the SAPLogonTree.xml file, the string 7100.1.6.1050 represents
7100 - SAPGUI 7.20
1 - Compilation level
6 - Patch level 6
1050 - Build number
Question:
1) Does the SAPLogonTree.xml file gets updated itself whenever we update the SAP Logon Pad patch level?
2) Is there any DOS command to findout the SAP LogonPad patch level in Windows PC?
3) Any registry key available within Windows PC which could help in identifying the GUI patch level?

I cannot answer this because we use a central login server which provides the necessary login infomation. Therefore I dont update the file everytime a patch goes live an the saplogontree.xml shows the "old" version which is incorrect. I guess if you use local configuration the file is updated everytime you patch your GUI but cant guarantee.

You can instead write a program which reads the GUI version and the patch level every time a user logs into the system. As given in this thread, it works perfectly for us: Get GUI version *and* PL of currently logged in users

Question about Servlets

Hi,
I am running WebSphere and when i put my sevlets directly under the classes folder and map it in the web.xml file, they seem to work fine.
But when i try to put those servlets in few folders under classes folder, its not able to find it.
I even mapped my servlet like this

Using Multiple Subpaths - question about nested XML data

Hello.
I am in the process of getting my head around the nested XML data that is one layer deeper than I know how to handle - ultimately I would like to populate a Spry MenuBar from the static XML file.
Updates & revisions to the menu would be done by simply uploading a new XML file to the server whenever something needs changed.
The problem I am having is in regard to more than one subpath.
I can successfully get the "Menuheading" and the "items" to show but the "subitems" that should attach to the "items" are nowhere to be found. Once this is figured out, I will begin building my menu.
I'm not getting an XML error when testing in Safari (Mac OS 10.5.8)
I thing my problem lies here in the head section of the page - obviously somewhere in the subPaths area:

Yes, you should be using the nested dataset instead.
