Question about setup ewa in solution manager 4.0

Hi
I tried to setup ewa in solution manager 4.0, but when I clicked on the "setup EarlyWatch alert", it told me that:
the Service is not available, Fehlercode:ICF-NF-http-c:000-u:SAPSYS-l:D-i:saptux04_SM4_04-v:0-s:403-r:Forbidden
HTTP 403 - Forbidden
any one can help me?
best regards

Hello,
You will have to activate the service first in transaction SICF.
SAP recommends to do so via the the SAP Solution Manager IMG following the respective IMG path:
<i>SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Confiugration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basis Settings -> Solution Manager -> Activate Solution Manager Services</i>
Enhanced configuration of SAP EarlyWatch Alert (Service: /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dswp_rating_4_monitoring)
This application is fairly new and contained in SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 onwards. Information on the respective functionality can be found right here in the SAP Solution Manager SP News:
http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000478802007E
I hope this helps to solve your issue.

  • Question about Alert Framework in Solution Manager

    Hi all,
We are planning to use Solution Manager as Central Monitoring Server, so I want to know what the advantage to use Solution Manager is, especially in Alerting.
We can define auto-reaction methods for monitors to send CCMS alerts to Alert Framework where the alerts can be forwarded to the personal responsible via Email or CCMS.
Is there any difference when using Solution Manager? Which additional functions dose Solution Manager provide in alerting?
In normal SAP Alert Framework, you can only define one receipt for escalation. Can Solution Manager support multiple level escalation? For example, an alert is sent to A, if the Alert is not confirmed by A, then the alert is forwarded to B automatically. The same way the alert can be forwarded to further persons.
    Any idea?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Hui

    Hi Hui,
On my opinion there is no any advantage in useíng SAP Solution Manager as central alerting systems in respect to RZ20. The arguments are as follows:
    - in SAP Solution Mnager you have performance restrictions on number of alerts to be displayed in one screen caused by the fact that the alerts are displayed in HTTP format
    - All the customizing in SAP Solution Manager for System Monitoring is Solution specific and not transportable. It means that if you have got corrupted your system monitoring session (that happens not seldom) your settings are lost. If you have created another Solution for the same systems you have to perform customizing from the scratch
    - Customizing is also not very esay to do. I would do recommend to use "User defined Alerts" Please have a look at the SAP Note 1023959 fro this topc
    - SAP Solution Manager does not provide alerting mechanism -> you have to relay to ALM in any case. Here by the way to your second question I would say that it is possible implement exactly process you have described. In the ALM category you can use button escallation to define another person that would be informed via e-mail in case the first Recipient have not completed alert from this category within predefined time
+ The only feature that is unique with System Monitoring with SAP Solution Mnager is the possibility to change threshold values for all the MTEs / MTE Classes that are defined in User Define Alerts an one button click
At the conclussion I would say that there are some custommers that are using SM as monitoring platform But more pragmatical would be to configure RZ20 with help of Rule-based alerts and self- defined system groups and use ALM as alerting infrastructure. In this case you can save in plain XML file your Alert configuration and export it in any other system. ALM has on my opinion enogh functionality for alerting

  • EWA on solution manager - short dumps

    Hi there
I've setup EWA on solution manager for Remote System BWQ, all test etc went fine, but as soon as I start service processing on solman to retrieve the data, a short dump is create as follows:

    Hi
So i tried to implement the above mentioned notes, but to update the solution manager stack, i have to use maintenance optimizer to approve the stack...
I have added solution manager 7.0 to the solution overview, and can select it from 'Plan Maintenance' window.. but as soon as i try and go to the second step, another short dump is created.

But none of them seem relevant to our SOLMAN.

  • Issue in configuring EWA using solution manager

    Hi
I am configuring the Early watch alert for my ECC system, I am facing couple of issue in it.
Soultion manager version 7 with SP14.
    1. not able to see Setup EWA tab in Solution setting under Solution directory
    2. I am not able to activate system under CCMS Monitoring of EWA in solution setting under solution directory, it does not give any error.
    3. I dont see "Early watch Alert" service option when i try to create service under solution monitoring -> EarlyWatch alert -> create new service session
Also like to know the difference between Early watch alert for solution and EarlyWatch alert. In my one of the solution i can see both option and allowing me to create the same.
    Regards,

    Hi Rajesh,
Have you setup your Solman system as a master system in the remote ECC system in SDCCN? i am still struggling to understand and get EWA working but i have managed to get EWA report for my ECC test system but not Solman itself.
Have a look in SMSY to see if your systems are in a green box, if they are then monitoring is activated for that system then you should be able to see that system in DSWP when scheduling EWA processing.
Also have a look at OSS Note 1257308 - FAQ: Using EarlyWatch Alert. there is a PDF file which shows how to setup EWA according to best practice.
    regards,
    Mandeep

  • The Question about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management

    Hi,
There is a scenario about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management storage location. I use transaction MB1B , movement type 313 , 315. After Good issue from WM-management storage location, outbound delivery will genarated, then Pack, Create/Confirm TO, at last post goods issue for the outboud delivery. But when i do movement type 315, there is a warning message "Data of preceding document was not transmitted", and from the F1 help i find this system reponse "You can maintain an indicator that makes information about preceding documents in this delivery available under delivery type in Customizing. For some characteristics of this indicator, the type of preceding document and the related document and item numbers must be transmitted to delivery creation. At least one of these parameters is missing.".
    So, My questions are:
    1. Generallily, Outbound delivery is created by SO, inbound delivery is created referenc PO, but how the stock transfer for 2 steps generate the outbould delivery and inbound delivery? Could you pls tell me the where i can config this in the IMG?
    2. What's "Data of preceding document was not transmitted" mean ? how to fix this issue ?
    Best Regards

    Hi,
Sure, The inbound delivery type is set up in the IMG->Logistics General -> HU management -> Basics ->Delivery type -> Delivery type determination.
For Inbound delivery type 'HID' is maintained in this view.
    Best Regards.
Some One want to discuss the details , can contact me. Thanks.

  • How do I setup RFC if Solution Manager and Target system are in same server

    Dear Experts,
How do I setup RFC if the Solution Manager and the Target System (SAP ERP 6.0) are sitting in the same server?
Do I really need to setup RFC?
    regards,
    Abraham

    Hello,
An RFC is a Remote Function Call and is used to communicate between computer systems.
A system can be on a server. Multiple systems can be on a single server, a single system can exist on multiple servers.
When you setup the RFC Target it is the Host and not the system that is specified.
You can get the host information when logged into the ERP system by running transaction SM59.
This would then be the target Host in the RFC from Solman to the ERP system.
As Miguel suggested this is rather simple. So I hope this has shone a light for you so you may proceed.
But if you continue to have problems please advise.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Question about video driver and window manager

    Dear All:
I have been using Arch for a couple of months now and I am absolutely amazed by how top of the line this system is.
Congratulations and thank you to all the developers!
A couple of questions for anybody interested in these topics:
    1) Do people usually use open-source video drivers, or proprietary? What are the advantages/disadvantages of either solution, in terms of stability and performance? (I have an ATI Radeon Mobility graphics card on an IBM T43 laptop).  Also, I use dual-head with an external NEC lcd display using MergedFramebuffer, but I notice that the external monitor is not set completely well.  Looking closely at the black background standard in Openpox, for example, I notice a constant flickering of the pixels.  Can it be because I am not using the proprietary ATI driver?
    2) What is, in your opinion, the fastest and most reliable window manager?  I wonder whether somebody has run objective comparisons.
I fell in love with wmii recently, but managed to crash it twice when I tried to run kmail (perhaps because this application is not wm-independent?).
Also, applications seem to respond the fastest in fvwm on my system!? Isn't wmii supposed to be the fastest, being the lightest?
    Thank you for your help!

  • Question about Adding External Storage/File Management

I am using LR5.2 on mid-2011 MBA. Before long I will run out of space on the HD. I have one catalog of about 16K photos. I would like to purchase external hard drive for additional storage. I use Time Machine for backup. What is the best way to manage the additional storage and keep the catalog intact?
    1) I currently have photos organized by date? i.e., Pictures/2013/2013-10-10/ etc. Should I keep this file organization as it is and then when importing new photos, select 'copy' from SD card and select 'Location' as new external drive?
    OR
    2) Should I move all photos to new backup drive to keep all files stored together? Would this be better for long term file management?
Any recommendations for best practices? Or is there a better to organize photos for current and future use?
Also, does the catalog stay in the same location under either 1) or 2)
    Thanks in advance

I would suggest creating a root folder on the EHD. You will need to keep your EHD connected when working with Lightroom. It will show up like your Mac HD with the green light in the left hand panel.
Leave everything where it is for the time being but you may want to drag older folders to the EHD over time, as importing new photos, generating previews and using the develop module will usually be faster on the main flash drive of the MBA.
Don’t use Finder to move files/folders around. Always use the Lightroom Library and the database of files and your develop settings (catalog) will not get corrupted.

  • Quick Question About Setup Assistant Data Transfer

In the initial Setup Assistant walkthrough for the new iMac, does it allow you to do the automatic transfer from Time Machine (external HDD) as well as from the old Mac itself? My old Macbook Pro is hurting and may not last through the transfer process.
