Question about syncing two different iPads on 1 iMac?

Hey all, I bought two iPad 2's today (both gifts, 1 for my mom and 1 for my dad). Bought it for them because they're probably too old at this stage for me to teach them to use a desktop efficiently. iPad is so easy for them to use the internet and listen to their music which is most important.
My question is, I don't have an iPad myself nor any iOS devices. Maybe I'll buy an ipad in a few months or so. However I do own the only computer in the house and that's my iMac. I was going to sync both my mom and dad's iPads to my Mac, and put their songs from my iTunes library on their iPads respectively. Will I incure any problems trying to do this?
I don't want my mom and dad's iPads to be identical and I want to sync different pictures and songs and stuff on their ipads. I want it to be their own individually.
What steps should I take to do this? I've never really synced any iOS products before but I pick up on this stuff pretty quickly. Made the transition from a Windows desktop to a Mac easily and would do it all over again!

Do this for each device. You can do this with all iTunes content as well. Apps, music, photos, books, movies - everything. You can have unique content on all of your devices.
You may also want to turn off auto sync so that you do not have to wait for the iPad to sync and then go back and make these changes.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices - check the box at the bottom.... Prevent iPods, iPhones ....
Then set up your sync preferences like this using Apps as the example.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on all of the apps that you want to sync to that iPad
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You may want to uncheck Automatically Sync New Apps under the Sync Apps list

I have a few questions about syncing. Since this is my first iphone and apple product, I'm not familliar with it. My mother bought the tomtom app for navigation. And she said that it has 3 uses (for 3 different devices). Now the app is in her library on her computer. So if i try to sync with her library, it will erase all my previous apps. How come? Also I'm planning to use a laptop in college so I'll have to sync it with that.

I use AOL for my work account, I can open an email on my iPad, my iPod Touch, my iMac, another iMac in the office and there are no issues at all. However, my AOL account is IMAP. I read email on the iPad, turn around and read and print from the iMac and someone else is accessing the email at the same time.
We access the same emails all the time as we have one generic email address that we both use. We like to multitask with AOL.

You each need an iCloud account and to sync your iCal calendars with iCloud. Then you can each share a calendar or calendars privately, so only available to the other, who would be able to edit it, or not, depending on your settings. Please see this page:

iTunes manages your photos between the iPad and iPhoto on the iMac. If you have things set up correctly, then the photos will go to iPhoto for safe keeping and later use.

Hopefully someone is still awake. I want to use outlook to save two different contact list. For example, I have a his and her iphone with two different contact list. How do I save two different contact list using outlook?

This is basically my question as well. My email contacts and my phone contacts are not all necessarily the same so I was thinking of creating a separate contact list in Outlook for my iphone. Is there a way to upload only 1 contact list from Outlook to my iphone? Will it affect my Outlook contacts when syncing?

Syncing two different versions of iCal

Hi everyone here!
I have a Mac with the latest iCal (Leopard) at home, and a older mac at work with iCal 1.5 (on Panther). I'm trying to find a way to sync both calendars.
I own an iPod nano 8Gb (the previous model). I noticed that the changes I make on one calendar are pushed towards the iPod, but never pulled back to the other computer.
First question : How could I have these calendars synced?
Second question : Is there a way to use this iPod to sync both calendars?
Third question : Will an iPod Touch solve this issue, knowing that iCal 1.5 doesn't seem to be compatible with iTunes, but only with iSync?

OK, since nobody has an answer for that, I guess I will forget about using iCal, and use google calendar instead : it looks like the easiest way to have my calendar both at home and at work.
I am very disappointed that an apple product doesn't come with such a simple feature as syncing two computers over the internet without subscribing to the very expensive .Mac service.

Other options not covered in the article:
1) You can plug both in under the same computer username and same iTunes Apple ID and give each device it's own name. You should be able to manage them as separate devices with different media, apps and screen layouts. All of your media would be in a common pool, though.
2) Under one computer username, you can login and logout of two different iTunes Apple IDs. This option is cleaner with two computer usernames but it can be done with one.
