Question about TextEdit. How do i add a custom header to a multipage document? For example, "Smith, page 2", "Smith, page 3', etc. I can do it in Microsoft Word, but cant figure out how in TextEdit.

How do i add custom headers to a multipage document in TextEdit? i need to add a custom header in upper right of page, for example: "Smith, page 2", "Smith, page 3" etc. The add header setting in Textedit file-print only adds date : time in upper right, with "Page 1 of 3" on bottom right.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

The first video on https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/photoshop.html shows you one way to do this: If you open Photoshop, just drag the image file from Explorer/Finder into the PS workspace (or even just to the PS icon).
Another way is to open Photoshop, select File > Open from the menu, and navigate to your image.

Let's be clear on one thing here. The manual setting is an iPod setting, not an iTunes one. So, once you've set it to manual (and you appear to have done that correctly), then you can connect it to any number of computers without changing that setting.
"The grey thing occurs on one pc only"
This is the thing that I don't understand, if your iPod is set to manual, then it shouldn't happen on any computer. If you connect the iPod that is set to manual to this pc, and then click on it in the source listing, then you would be looking at the songs on the iPod, and they should not be greyed out. When you connect to the "other pc" under these same circumstances, they are not greyed out?

It's easy. When you added music to iTunes (buy it in iTunes or just add your own music), just connect your iPod, click on the iPod button in iTunes (it will appear), then choose music and enable syncing all your music (or just some artists, genres or playlists). Then just sync your iPod with iTunes.

You have to "activate" it with a computer having iTunes loaded. (Or have the apple store activate it for you)
You would connect the iPad to the computer's USB port with the supplied cable.
The itunes will walk you through the process with messages.
Then, you can explore and add music and apps with itunes or download them from the itunes store.
One way to get good training is to find someone with an iPhone or ipod touch and let them give you a few minutes of training.
Or take it to an apple store and ask for a quick demo.

If you already had one on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email addressthen you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

You don't need to "authorize" it, unless you are trying to sync content that uses DRM (copy protection). You probably just need to set up syncing.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.
Select the iPod in the sidebar. The iPod's Summary screen is shown to the right. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music to the right of Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music. If your iTunes music library is small enough to fit on the iPop's storage, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. From the lists below, select what you want to sync the iPod. One convenient way to set this up is to create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, and put ALL of the songs you want on the iPod on those playlists. (Or you can use existing playlists.) Back on the iPod's Music screen, select (checkmark) those playlists under Playlists. You can also select other items on those lists, as desired.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selections to the iPod. Going forward, to update the iPod, just update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The iPod does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.
