Question about the new firmware for Zen Mi

Does the recent update for the Micro allow the user to use Zen Micro Media Explorer unlike the update from December?

You have to upgrade the Explorer version to the one that is enabled for "MTP" firmware, which can be downloaded for free from the creative download section. I'm using the beta firmware, and it works pretty well for me, and I like the autosync feature with WMP0.

  • Question about the new battery for zen micro/ zen microph

i just reacently noticed that creative has a new bettery the?Li-Ion Battery (830mAh) for ZEN MICROPHOTO/ ZEN MICR0 on there website they say it gives longer battery lifeand i was wondering how true this could be because i would like to get more than 6 to 8 hours out of my zen micro

The Zen MicroPhoto uses more power than the Zen Micro would, so it has a better battery. But you can use this battery with the Zen Micro and it should last longer than your original battery.

    *the PC shutdown
    - you should get "Software update failed".
*someone call me and the mobile ring at the updating process
    - calls can be made and received while the software is being downloaded. The call will be terminated automatically when the update phase begins.
*the electricity went off/*the internet connection have a problem/*the battery become empty at the updating process
    - Power or internet connection was lost during the update. The update may have been successful. Remove the battery and if the software was not updated, try again.

    - Nokia device firmware cannot be downgraded. Once you have upgraded your device, you will not be able to restore it to the earlier version.

  • Two questions about the new iWeb

    Hi
I've got two questions about the new iWeb.
    1. Is it possible to blog online now? Meaning adding a new blog entry without having to be on your own Mac? This is a feature I've been waiting for since iWeb first was released.
    2. Is it possible to choose the format of images? Earlier editions had the option to "optimize" images but that meant it changed it into .png meaning the site got a lot heavier than if .jpg was used. And since I have relatives who still only have an isdn connection I need to be able to have the website as light as possible.
    thanks

Ah well... thanks for the quick answer

  • Question about the new Yoga 10 HD+

    Hi
A few questions about the new Yoga 10 HD+ which I hope you can answer.
I bought the old model last year. Loved the design and long battery time but a few major issues made me return it.
Somewhere I read that it can't read NTFS over USB so I presume that's the same with an NTFS formatted microSD card?
Can it read exFAT formatted microSD cards?
Anyone observed issues regarding audio over bluetooth?
(I know BT isn't exactly High End HiFi but the old Yoga 10 for some odd reason - most likely a driver issue which nobody cared to fix - sounded *much* worse with quite noticeably distortion while both my phone and a cheap noname tablet I have zero fidelity issues - no matter which of my bluetooth audio devices I tried aptX or not)
So to avoid buying this only to return it too I really would like to see if I can have my questions answered before buying it.
While I love the form factor and long running time the above issues are just two mayor dealbreakers to me. Bad audio quality = no joy listening to spotify, local MP3s etc. No NTFS or exFAT = no large movies.
My old noname android tablet really could use an upgrade so I'm really curious whether this can be it or I should look at the competition and sacrify form factor and battery runtime.
    Thanks in advance.
    EDIT:
If it's not supporting either NTFS or exFAT on the microSD have anyone tried ext3 and/or ext4?
I mean with Androids Linux roots it should be a nobrainer to support at least when it comes to royalties unlike NTFS or exFAT where there *might* be some issues with Microsoft.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks!
OK. Seems I should just stay clear of this and look elsewhere
Sony for sure I know support exFAT. I'm usure about Samsung. Odd it seems so hard to find out. File sizes of +4 GB should be taken for granted - it's not 199x anymore...
Oh well. Wonder whether to just go for one from the competition or perhaps just save the money and wait until 64 bit catches on. Rumors is that the next Nexus 8 will be 64 bit... (I really don't expect an answer on this)

  • What to do if new firmware for zen micro is not for you

Ok its pretty simple, takes long but it should work (never been tested)
Uninstall the new firmware (keep all your songs saved onto PC music library)Install the cd you were given with the zen micro. You'll have all your songs on your pc library ( i would reccomend clearing out you zen micro music library and just putting the pc music library songs on your zen micro from there) so just transfer all the files you want onto the zen micro and it should be running fine.please reply and tell me what happens.Zenmastertml

    Hi Prakash,
As per GAAP - FI general accepting account principal,
Balance is define as on date,
while transaction/P&L can define for perticular period date range.
Here, I guess you want to see balance as on 30.06.2011
    and transaction for 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011.
    Am i right?
FYI, If you use 0BALANCE for any period, let say 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011
then it will show balance for last day 30.06.2011
because its aggregation is SUM, LAST Value on time characteristics.
More detail on requirement will help us to provide you better solution.

  • Question about the new i5/i7 processors

I have been wondering if anybody had a definitive answer as to whether the new i5 and i7 processors are the desktop chips or their mobile counterparts? I know previous gen imacs use mobile parts but I've heard conflicting reports about the new 27 inch imacs. Some people say they are using desktop parts now while others claim they are still mobile processors...does anybody here know? I can't seem to find the information because I'm not really a techie so I don't really understand intels system for identifying their processors. The reason I ask is I recently placed an order for the i5 imac, I was comparing some i5/i7 benchmarking tests and ultimately decided the i5 was more than up to the job...however, now I don't even know if I was comparing the right chips (I didn't know there were different versions of the i5 and i7). Also, I had some concern with the heat issue, from what I've read the i7 produces tremendous heat so I also factored that in to my decision. I know Apple makes quality stuff (I love my MBP) and they placed the GPU and CPU on opposite ends of the imac, AND it has 3 fans AND the back is basically a HUGE heatsink lol...but I still wonder if the heat will cause the i7 to have a shorter expected life than the i5?(which is also pretty hot I guess). I thought I had my mind made up but this is turning out to be a very confusing process for me. If heat will effect the life cycle with only a relatively small power boost I'll stick with the i5...but if the versions of the chips they are using are mobile or not going to have this problem than I don't know what to do lol. Also, could you replace the i5 with an i7 later on down the road? AHHHH....can somebody help I'm spending so much money here I don't want to make a mistake :/

thanks for the help everyone. After reviewing all the information I think I'm gonna go with the i7...it will be $180 for me because of a student discount so in the end I guess thats not too much to pay for the increased speed and hyper-threading (which I probably will see no benefit from now but down the road...who knows). I had to cancel my order for the i5 anyway because after going into the Apple store last night to fondle the 27 inch imacs (which I hadn't seen in person yet) I realized I did not like the new keyboard ( don't get me wrong its a nice product but I use the Adobe CS4 software for digital art and animation so so lacking a numerical keypad for keystroke shortcuts is a little impractical for me).
Since I had to cancel and reorder anyway I'm now thinking I may as well upgrade to the i7 and be done with the doubting my decision lol. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I will probably order today. Apparently the i5 and i7 have the same wattage so I guess if one will overheat the other will too so that kills that debate in my my mind.
BTW if anybody has not yet seen the 27 inch imacs in person yet they are behemoths...beautiful behemoths. I can't wait to have that much canvas space to paint in Photoshop.
    Thanks again everyone.

  • Question about the New X-Fi Driver that is o

Just wondering if anyone else has this come up, when I download the new driver for the X-Fi, and start the installation process, it ends up saying that my "Audio Consol" is the same version and that if I choose to install, that my current version will be uninstalled and then overwritten. Should I proceed anyways? Should I stick with the new driver? Granted I dont have any problems, but it says its a "Critical" download, and would hate to not get the current driver.
    Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't be afraid to uninstall the Audio Console. It is standard procedure to first uninstall previous installation and then proceed with the installation, in order to avoid conflicts. It is a good thing that Creative implements it in the installation routine. So simply press to proceed and don't be afraid. You may lose the selections you made, because the new installation will put on the defauls but you can always reselect. THX Console and Speaker Calibrator is not affected, as far as i know.

  • Question about the New ACR Corrections for Tonal Range

I find the new set of controls for tonal range in CS7 to be excellent! However, I am curious about what controls what. Black and Shadows work as I would expect but Highlight and Whites do not, at least in terms of traditional photography.
Highlights and Shadows are grouped together as I would expect, Black and White also. But if we are to continue with that progression, White should control the clipping point and Highlights the values a 2 stops or so above middle gray. I would expect Highlights to be similar to Brightness in CS5 except better behaved. It's reversed. Highlights =Recovery in CS5
It's confusing so I am suggesting that White control clipping and Highlight the upper values.

Thank you Patti for your response.
I think we are coming to this from different perspectives. Being so close to development of the current upgrade, I appreciate your insights as to how these controls work. I, on the other hand, am coming from long experience as a photographer and printer, exceeding 50 years at this point. So I have some legacy points of view, which is why I posted.
I spent this evening looking more closely. Here is a summary.
I messed with an excellent example for looking at this question, and I found something interesting. You can fix an image which already has clipping far easier with Highlights, but you cannot force an image with white values well below clipping into clipping using Highlights. The reverse is true with White. So, to fix a white clip, use Highlights, to force a white clip, use White.
Blacks and Shadows are different. You can both force and fix a Black clip with Black, but Shadows, while possible, has much less range. So Shadows are kind of vernier on Blacks. This is different than  Whites.
I was basing my OP on only fixing clipping points, that is, bringing an image out of clipping, but not forcing into clipping.
So, indeed, what you and Jeff point out is closer to correct than my initial assertions. Yours are based on a broader range controls than possible in analog days. In naming these controls, one winds up with a foot in both the digital side and the old analog side, which gave rise to the names and the meanings.
So thanks to both you and Jeff for taking this up. It forced me into looking more closely at my conclusions, and while they weren't wrong outright, they were inadequate to the present state of the technology. Sometimes, experience can actually get in the way!

  • A question about the Flash intro for the Zen Mic

  • Question about the new Zen Mi

I was planning to buy a micro but then I saw the new ones and I was wondering if there was any difference between the new two and the old one? apart from the capacities.

Nobody has actually tried one, but I doubt there will be any difference. I'm not sure why a 4Gb is being released, but the reasons for the Gb flash and the 6Gb are pretty obvious (the 6Gb replacing the 5Gb).

  • New Firmware for Zen. Where is

I remember during Christmas Break, when I first got my Zen (8gig, now upgraded to 6), I saw new firmware updates every week. Its been nearly 4 months without a firmware update. I liked the new features they kept adding, but stopping suddenly at only copying items in my SD card to my Zen and seeing ONLY my photos is NOT the best Creative can do. I love my Zen, but surely, someone in Creative's team can fix something about the Zen freezing (you know, fixed by using the paperclip reset ) or add more SD card functionality

"...any update would probably affect millions of Zen users..."
Not if they chose not to install it.
Re the integrated SD question. I don't know if it's deception, per se, but it kinda felt that way to me too. I don't think its an unreasonable expection that that you would be able to access the stuff on the card through the regular menu (music, etc.). I've seen a variety of players with expandable storage and Creative's is the only one I've seen that keeps the card memory separate. It's just different, and not what many people expect.
Another thing that is different and unexpected about this player is the faulty "resume" functionality. Oh, it will remember where you left off all right, and start there the next time you turn on the player, as long as the next time isn't more than 2 hours later. Overdri've media includes the Zen on its list of compatible players (one of the reasons I bought it), but it's only compatible in the sense that it will play the DRM WAV files. This flaw in the resume function and the fact that a bookmark loads only the single file containing the bookmark, i.e., it doesn't remember that the file you bookmarked is part of a playlist, makes it a frustrating experience.
I know most people use the player for music, but the audiobook & podcast world has been getting more popular for the last several years, and it would seem like Creative would want to to take those uses -- and users -- into consideration when designing firmware for their products. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to return Zen in favor of the **other mp3**, but I certainly won't recommend it to anyone if they plan to use it for anything other than music.
