Question about Theme title...

Quick question, I have applied the theme "open" from the travel section but I cannot figure out how to put in my title where it says "title one" please help.

Be sure you are in "Themes" then just type in what you want in the text field next to "Title 1:" then hit apply. You will be able to see the title as well as the pictures or video you dropped in displayed in the preview before you apply it.

Questions about themes...please help!

This is my first time using iMovie and I am trying to make a slideshow of pictures. For some reason it won't let me choose a theme for my pictures (only shows the titles and no "set theme" option. Is there a reason this button isn't appearing?
Another question, is there a way to apply text to all of the pictures instead of dragging to the picture on at a time? I would appreciate ANY help.

Which version of iMovie are you on? You need 8.0.3 (iMovie 09) for themes.
7.1.4 (iMovie 08) does not have themes.

A Question About Themes

Hi,
I was just wondering if it was possible for a theme to play out and then carry on playing the clip that was placed into the drop zone.
For example, the Travel Lower Third theme. Is it possible for that to play out and then carry on playing the clip? Also is there a way to keep the sound from the video clip in the theme?

Rob,
Welcome to the Discussions.
The Travel Lower Third Theme is 4 seconds and 28 frames long. So you want to place the first 4:28 of your clip into the drop zone.
One way to do that is to first duplicate your clip while it's still in the clip viewer. Selecting Copy then Past will duplicate it for you.
Now drag one of the clips down to the time line, select and choose Advanced>Extract Audio to copy the audio from the clip to the time line. This will provide audio during the Theme.
Now select your Theme and place the other copy of your clip into the drop zone. Click Apply so that the Theme is added in front of the clip already in the time line.
The final step is to trim 4:28 from the head of the clip that follows the Theme.
It may be easier to first drag it up to the clip viewer. That way you can use the scrubber bar and little triangular crop markers to highlight the first 4:28 of the clip and hit the delete key to delete it.
Now drag it back down to the timeline and you should have the result you're looking for.

Basic question about positioning titles & text...

Hi there,
I am working on a presentation that will be shown via laptop>projector>big screen. I am very used to working with the title safe option for tv screens, does this not apply for my text using laptop and projector? (I need all the screen space I can get!)

I am no expert so please check other replies.
The "TV safe" area ONLY applies to television sets that block the edges of the picture from the viewer with the TV's plastic or whatever material frame that "blocks" the view of these edges.
Your laptop and projector will show everything.
No need to consider "TV Safe" for your project.

Question about themes

I am curious if it is possible to convert a Powerpoint template into a Keynote theme? If so, how?

If you can get to the graphics in the powerpoint theme then you can insert the graphics into a keynote presentation.
With the "how" part, unless someone has some time to devote to examining the powerpoint template and suggest keynote specific alternatives, your best et is to find something similar in the Keynote themes and see how it is done.
sorry, but all the different layouts in a Ktheme or PPtemplate is going to make it impossible to offer decent suggestions.

A question about song titles

hello everyone, i am a new mac user and i'm having problems with itunes
ok my main problem is that i have a fairly large music collection and i have always organised them without using tags, just with the filenames (i.e artist-album-song.mp3) so now they're all showing up in itunes as unknown artist . is there a program available that can automatically sort it out and split the three into the right categories? (manually renaming everything is not an option, it would take weeks) someone recommended idtunes in another thread but using that would cost me over $200 to fix everything and anyway all the i nformation on my songs is correct it just needs to be put into tags.
if this is not possible can anyone recommend a different music player that allows that kind of thing?

I did a search on "mp3 tags" and this came up.
These programs are freeware or inexpensive shareware. Maybe one of these can do the job for you.

A question about JDialog Title bar

I'm using Netbeans 6.0.1 IDE it looks great...
but suddenly i failed to create a JDialog without title bar (or without Frame Border - that forder which contains the image icon, form title, minimize button, maximize button and close button)
i want a simple dialog box without frame border (or title bar) is it possible?????????

I made everything as well as was written, but on completion of the ios 6.1.3 installation the iPhone asks to be activated through wifi or through a wire to the computer.

Question about Setting Window Title/the use of AVWindowSetTitle()

Hi everyone,
I have a question about setting the title of the window in which the Acrobat viewer normally opens a PDF file. The documentation states that AVWindowSetTitle() cannot be used in this case. However, using it has worked with versions of Acrobat/Reader up until and including version 8.
Everything breaks down starting with Acrobat 9.
According to the documentation I am supposed to do the following: "To set the title of a window in which the Acrobat viewer opens a PDF file, you must replace AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() and pass the window title in tempTitle."
Unfortunately, there are 2 problems I have with this approach:
     I do need to be able to change the document title on document Save, not only on document Open
     I do not know what AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() implementation has to look like if I have to replace it using HFTReplaceEntry().
Is there a sample customized implementation of AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() somewhere that I could take a look at?
Is there a way to change a document Title inside Acrobat/Reader window after a Save operation?

     I am sorry. I don't know how you tested this and came to conclusion that this works correctly in Acrobat X.
     I just tested our Acrobat plug-in with a trial version of Acrobat X and this did not work.
     When we open a file in Acrobat (doing it ourselves in the plug-in by adding another specialized open) we set the window title to something different from the default file name. Then if a file gets edited and saved (File->Save), the window title gets reset to the file name. In the PDDocDidSave callback we call AVWindowSetTitle() to set it back to a more descriptive window title we need. This has worked up until and including Acrobat 8, but does not work in either version 9.0 or 10.0.
     Also, I just modified the plug-in code to always change the Window Title of every document (even if opened through native File->Open) on document Save. It does not work.
     Please help,

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Question about Title

Hi All,
I am confused about "the title must be the first line in your book"
Does that mean you should just write "My Title Here" as the first line in the document, basically, and then go on from there with the actual book?
I think maybe I'm not understanding the rule correctly, because that seems unexpected because that seems like it would be very boring.
Any thoughts appreciated.

So, from what the posters have said, this sounds like the traditional "title page" would cover this requirement - just have a separate page for "title page" and that will put the Title as the "very first line of the manuscript & formatted as Heading 1 style".
Then, just to be safe, I guess also make sure the Title is the first line in your marketing cover image, too.
And that makes sense to me, because I would reasonably want the Title to be first and big on the cover, of course.

EPubs do not as such, have pages, so there's no need for New Sections and other Page Break types. But a TOC is insisted on even if it only includes a Title and a Copyright as two TOC entries. So in effect the title is the first line, and that is tagged with Heading Style 1 to place it as the first item in the TOC (even though the TOC will be the 3rd 'page', usually) Next will be Copyright tagged with Heading Style 1, but the actual Copyright blurb in Bodytext. And so on if you wish to tag chapter headings with Heading Style 1 also.
But in practice, the title are the first words, even if you type it much much later.
The cover, or as Lulu calls it, the Marketing Image, has nothing to do with your manuscript file. It's not part of the manuscript file or that part of the Project Wizard because there's also a Cover Wizard within it and you deal with the cover there (even though it's not a cover a such) as you would any book cover. You will not see it in the Epub file Preview until later. I think Lulu's boffins add to the ePub file as the first 'page', you do not need to.

Question about sorting files in media library

Hey,
I'm Sam Hoste from Belgium and I have a question about sorting music files in my media library in iTunes.
My music collection mainly exists of complete albums instead of individual songs. The problem is that I can not play the songs of an album in the same order as on the tracklist of the album in the media library of iTunes.
I also take very good care of the ID3 tags from my mp3-files, but that doesn't help.
For example, if I had an album with the following tracklist,
01. Artist - Song 1
02. Artist - Song 2
03. Artist - Song 3
04. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 4
05. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 5
06. Artist - Song 6
07. Artist - Song 7,
every music file would have an ID3 tag for tracknumber (1, 2, 3, ...), an ID3 tag for artist ("Artist" or "Artist ft Otherartist"), an ID3 tag for title (Song 1, ...) and an ID3 tag for album ("Albumname").
When I load this album in my media library in iTunes, I cannot get them sorted by album and by tracknumber on that album. When I sort by artist I get this list:
01. Artist - Song 1
02. Artist - Song 2
03. Artist - Song 3
06. Artist - Song 6
07. Artist - Song 7
04. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 4
05. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 5.
But that's normal, but even if I sort by album I get the same list:
01. Artist - Song 1
02. Artist - Song 2
03. Artist - Song 3
06. Artist - Song 6
07. Artist - Song 7
04. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 4
05. Artist ft Otherartist - Song 5.
So the songs aren't in the same order as they are supposed to be on the CD. And I would really like my albums to play in the same order than on the tracklist on the CD.
I think the problem is caused by the fact that when you sort by "album" in iTunes media library, iTunes first sorts by albumname, and second by artistname, and third by tracknumber. In stead of sorting first by albumname, and then second by tracknumber in stead of the artist.
My question: Is there a way to make sure iTunes sorts by albumname, and then by tracknumber in stead of artist, so I can play my albums in the same order as on the CD? Or is there an other solution for this issue?

Use the DefaultTableModel. It has addRow and addColumn methods.
