  • Question About Sharing Apps Between My iPhone and My Wife's iPhone

Hi, I have a question about downloading apps to my iPhone.
I ordered two iPhone 3g's - one for my wife and one for me, and I've discovered that when I download an app (even free ones) on my iPhone and then later sync it to iTunes, my wife cannot put it on her phone. However if I download it on iTunes on my computer and later sync it to my phone, then my wife is able to sync it to her phone as well. It's no big deal when they are free because she can just go get it if she wants it. I haven't purchased any apps yet, but is there a way to be able to give my wife apps that I purchase on my iPhone? Or do I need to purchase all of my [pay] apps and songs on iTunes on my computer to ensure we both have access? Or do I have it all wrong completely LOL?? This rights management stuff is confusing.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Jimmy

I had my iTunes account and phone before I got my wife's hers. When I first started, I synced hers from her account on my computer brought in my libraries and authorized her phone as one of the 5 allowed. She had all purchased apps and music. Over time we each bought music or apps on our seperate accouts. Of course, we told each other about cool apps or music we bought and wanted on our phone. When I went to sync iTunes was going to delete all music and apps and sync with the library I was logged into. Didn't want that, only work around I have found is to copy new music or new apps from one library to the other. Updating on the phone is also difficult because you can't switch between accounts so updates have to be done at the computer for apps bought under different accounts. I am sure there is a better way to do this and ask for an insight anyone would have. I hope it works out.

  • Question about Update Tables

    Hello Gurus,
I have a question about "update table" entries. I read somewhere that an entry in update table  is done at the time of the OLTP transaction. Is this correct? If so, does this happen on a V1 update or V2 update? Please clarify. Similarly, an entry in the "extraction queue" (incase you are using "queued delta" will happen on V1 update. I just want to get a clarification on both these methods. Any help in this matter is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sreekanth

    Hi
update tables are temporary table that are refreshed by v3 job.update table is like buffer, it gets filled after updation of application table and statistical table through v1 v2 update .  we can bypass this process by delta methods.

  • Noob question about launching apps

    Greetings all,
Just made the switch to a Powerbook with OS X Tiger, and have a question about launching applications; specifically how to do so without using the mouse. On my Linux boxes (one at home, one at work), I do most of my work from the keyboard, without resorting to the mouse, even in Gnome or KDE.
In Tiger, I can select applications on the desktop, but haven't been able to figure out how to launch them without "clicking"... I've Googled and searched these forums, but no luck so far. Under Linux, it's the Enter key. I assume in Tiger it's some key combination...
I know there's probably a simple answer, but I've not been able to happen upon the appropriate key combo it at random, so I thought I'd ask the experts.
Be gentle, I've only had my PB a week!

To help you in your quest to keep your hands on the keyboard you should check out apps like LaunchBar and Quick Silver. Your hands will never (well... rarely) leave the keyboard again.

  • Just a question about the app store

i have seen the app store on itunes & i have a question on the apps you need to pay for.
(After this 2.0 upgrade problem is resolved)if you buy some apps for the itouch but after trying them, know that you dont like them, is there any way you can get your money back, or at least swap it for an app or the same or lower price.
If this is possible, is there like a time limit (e.g. 15 days) on how long you could keep the app before returning is not possible

I really doubt this would happen, I mean apple doesnt do this service for songs, you cant really ask to take a song back because you dont like it.
But then again there is usually previews for songs on itunes, but most good apps will have a demo app available for you to try before you buy.
I am 100% sure apple wont do any refunding on a app, unless its faulty.
    Sorry mate,

  • Questions about updating an app in the app store

I'm a creative cloud menber working with the single edition DPS. My app has been approved by Apple and is in the store. But, of course, there is a typo. What do I need to know about submitting an updated version. Should it have a new version number say 1.1? Can I use all the same certificates both mobile provision and development 12? Is the review process more expediant when it's a update?
    thanks
    Chuck

    Hi Chuck,
Subscribers to Adobe Creative Cloud can revise their apps (and submit their rebuilt apps to Apple) for as long as they are Creative Cloud subscribers. When you revise your app, use the same App ID and distribution provisioning profile to create the new custom viewer. In DPS App Builder, select the existing app you created, and click Edit. Specify the most recent app version, if desired, and follow the prompts to create a new app. Download and test the development file. In iTunes Connect, click Manage Your Applications, click the app you want to update, and then click Add Version. Follow the prompts, and then use Application Loader to upload the .zip file.

  • Question about updating to Logic 9 and 64-bit

    Hey guys, thanks for reading.
About 5 years ago I purchased the student discounted version of Logic Studio 8 (does not support upgrades of any kind).  I have used this until now in conjunction with many Eastwest and Spectrasonics audio units.
I am now considering buying Logic Pro 9 to take advantage of 64-bit technology (which is a new concept for me), which will help my Eastwest and Spectrasonics audio units make full use of my 8GB of ram.  No more crashing or slowing, hooray!
Here is my question: if I want to use all of the old reverbs, EQs, instruments, and jam packs that came with my Logic Studio 8 five years ago, do I need to purchase Logic Studio 9?  I was hoping I could just buy Logic Pro 9 and that all the old plugins and instruments that came with my Logic Studio 8 will still function.  I use Space Designer and a few select instruments from the Jam Packs quite frequently.
However, because these plugins and instruments came from Logic Studio 8, five years ago, and I doubt I can upgrade the files in any way because it was the educational version, I'd imagine that they are 32-bit.
Sorry if that was long and convoluted.  Logic doesn't have a simple support line and I want to make sure I buy the right product!

If you buy Logic Po 9 from  the App store.. all that extra content is available to download directly from inside the Logic Pro 9 App now (It's a menu option) so you won't lose anything.... and you get all your old versions updated and the  for free!
The Logic Pro 9 from the App store acts as both an upgrade version from earlier releases such as Logic 8 and as a fresh install without the need for any prior versions instaled.

  • Thinking of making the PC to Mac Move, questions about Photos App

Helped my mother on her Mac a little bit and got the Photos App working for her. Now my turn, I have been a die hard Windows user, but I will never use a Windows phone. (Can never give up my iPhone) I have been taking on a huge family project of scanning old photos and dating them. Along with digital photos from early 2000’s. I have probably about 10,000 photos. (And 20,000 more to scan) In Windows I use photo gallery 2012 to organize and date etc. my photos. The thing I like about photo gallery is that when I make a change to a photo it edits the original. The dates and GPS I add to the photo are forever saved to the file in the metadata.
I am very tempted to move to a Mac. (I have an iPhone & Apple TV, I would like to sync across all my devices) I never like iPhoto, the idea of a “non destructive” editing means I have to import and export photos. I think the new Photos app might work for me.
    A few questions:
If I move all my directories/folders of my photos to a Mac, will I be able to use the Mac Photo App to edit the photos and the changes I make be saved directly to the photo file in the respective folder? (Or are the photos then saved in a new location after being edited in the Mac Photo App?)
If I turn on the iCloud Photo Library (on the Mac & iPhone) I understand all my photos will be uploaded to the cloud and any changes made on either device will be seen on the other. My question, if I make changes to a photo that is in the iCloud will that change be made to the original photo file that is stored on the Mac? (Basically I want to have at all times a hard drive copy for my personal backup)
With the iCloud Photo Library feature I understand that any new photo I take with my iPhone is uploaded to the iCloud. Are the photos taken on the iPhone physically downloaded to the Mac? I know I can view them on the Mac Photo app, but I want to know if they are downloaded to the Mac and if so where does it save the new photos?
    Thanks,
    Nick

I do not use ICloud so someone else will need to answer those questions.  For question one though...  Photos, like Aperture and Iphoto before it, puts your photos in its own filing system.  You would need to export the photos to get them back out of Photos.  You can export them to anywhere in your mac file system.

  • Question about Java apps structure

    Hello guys,
I'm a professional C++ programmer and I would like to start learning Java. I'm reading about Java from here and there and would like to ask you about how a java program is structured compared to C++.
So in C++, I have main.cpp (or any other file name, doesn't matter), which contains a the main() function, and I have .h and .cpp class files that I instantiate (basically) in my main function to get my program to work.
In Java, I'm confused and can't really find the "general" rule to how stuff are organised. I noticed that every class has a main function (why?), and there's no global scope. And "somehow", file names must exactly be equal to the class names.
The question is: how are Java files of classes (and other stuff, if available) are arranged to create a program? What's the standard why? And How can I have many classes together in a single main()?
Thank you for any efforts :-)

    Edited by: 927494 on 13.04.2012 09:10

Thank you guys for the replies. I still have some more doubts :-)
Do I have to have a file for the implementation and a file for the definitons, like cpp and header files? or just everything inside the class?
Why does Netbeans fail to compile when I change the class name? what should I change with the class name in general to have it compile correctly? From what I understand till now, the top level class's name (the class with the main() function that's gonna be executed) has to be equal to the file name (and I got that this is the sufficient condition for the app to compile), while the same file can have more classes if I wish. Did I get that right?
I don't know if I get that right too, we pass only a SINGLE class/file to the compiler, and it automatically resolves ALLLL the included files automatically, unlike C++, where all cpp files have to be passed to the compiler/makefile to create object files, and then the executable is created after linking all those object files with the libraries together. i.e.: Java doesn't really need a makefile because making is really simple with only 1 filename. True?

  • Questions about Bluprint app Petstore 2.0

    Sean and whoever can help:
I am studing petstore 2.0 and have some questions.
    1. Why were both Adress class and AdressBean class used in the petstore application? why cannot we just use Address class?
    2. What is the purpose of FileUploadBean and AutocompleteBean? Can we move the logic to the CatalogFacade?
Your answer will be very appreciated.

I have read quite a bit of the upgrade documentation that I could find. I have run two test upgrades, one from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3 and another from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3. I have also successfully upgraded one database to 11.2.0.3 with no issues or questions.
    Pl post OS details.
Last night I attempted to upgrade one of my instances from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3. A number of questions came up:
    1) I got an ORA-3113. When I created an SR it recommended dropping the xdb.migr9202status table. I will be trying that tonight when my maintenance window opens up. The general question that I have is: Should I drop this table, proactively, before each upgrade, or do I need to wait for the upgrade to fail before I drop the table?Pl post the complete error message from the database alert log and the upgrade log files. You should not have to drop this table in general. Have you asked Support why they think this is the solution to the issue ?
    2) When I run the pre-upgrade script, there is a note that the timezone needs to be upgraded and to run the correct DBMS script. There is an option in the upgrade assistant to upgrade the timezone. What is the best practice, to let the script perform the time zone or should I upgrade the timezone manually? You should manually upgrade timezone related settings after the database upgrade. I do not believe DBUA takes care of this. Pl see this MOS Doc
Actions For DST Updates When Upgrading To Or Applying The 11.2.0.3 Patchset [ID 1358166.1]
    3) There is also a note about configuring the network ACLs for several users. I foulnd a web page:
    http://www.pythian.com/news/3434/setting-up-network-acls-in-oracle-11g-for-dummies/
Is this the correct way, and should it be performed after the upgrade?
Yes - this needs to be done as one of the post-upgrade steps.

  • Questions about releasing apps

    Hello Forums,
    i have a few questions
As far as i know...if you have the developers portal...you can test and deploy your app on your iphone or ipad but the license only last for a year and
    1) you can only add 100 devices
    2) if your license expire the app will not work on deployed test devices
    (Correct me if im wrong)
So in that case...is there a way to distribute your app without it having to be on the app store? because im sure when some one makes a game they dont have to keep renewing their license for their game to work.
and i was thinking i cant exactly just deploy it from my xcode because i can only add 100 devices

  • Question about the app store

I was looking through the appstore and could find gps anywhere. will apple release info about it with the 2.0 update. That is one of the apps that I really wont on my first generation iPhone.

GPS capabilities require additional hardware for the original iPhone and, therefore, won't be available on the App Store. It'll be included as a native feature on the iPhone 3G. The only way you'll be able to get GPS on an iPhone is with the iPHone 3G, sorry!

  • Questions about Updates and "what mac can I use"!

    Hi all,
I'm new to the Mac world and do not yet own a Mac. As I would like to start developing for the iPhone and the SDK Readme says
"iPhone SDK will run on Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.5.4 or later."
I'm thinking about buying a minimac and get started.
My question: If I buy a used miniMac via ebay, what do I have to look for? Is a Mc OS X version 10.4 ready for update? Is it free? If not how much?
You see question is: How do I get a realy "cheap" Mac for the SDK?!?
Thanks for your answers in advance
    Cheers Sascha

You have to look for a Mac Mini that has an Intel architecture. The older ones have a PowerPC (PPC) architecture.
Mac OS 10.4 is the older OS. If you got one loaded with 10.4 (or Tiger) you would have to pay for the full retail version of 10.5 (Leopard), which then can be freely updated to 10.5.4.

  • Question about Address app and iPhone

I have the fully updated Tiger OS, and I want to start putting all of my contacts in the Address application (iLife '06). A few questions:
    1) Even thought it's an older OS and older iLife (my ibook refuses to die), will the Address app sync just fine with the iPhone? (I'm getting the one reportedly coming out this summer.)
    2) Can I send out blanket e-mails (with images) from the iPhone?
    3) Just a general Address application question: Can I assume that even if a new iLife comes out soon, I'll still be able to transfer all my contacts just fine from iLife '06?
    Thanks for any feedback.

The OS X Address Book app is not part of the iLife package. iLife 09 was just released, so I wouldn't expect iLife 10 until next year, which has nothing to do with the Address Book application.
No one knows what the minimum OS X system requirements will be for the next generation iPhone and we won't know until Apple makes an announcement. I think it is doubtful that Tiger will not be supported but we will know for certain when Apple makes an announcement and not until that time.
What do you mean by blanket email?

  • Question About Transferring Apps From iPad

*****Sorry for the waste of space and time. I finally found an article saying that it cannot be done. Apps stay in the name they were downloaded with.*****
I am wondering if you can transfer Apps with multiple accounts to iTunes with one account stored? I know this may be confusing so let me explain a little bit. Alright, I have an account and so of course I have intalled Apps onto my iPad. Now my girlfriend also has an account and she has installed some Apps onto my iPad. I believe I have three different accounts tied to several Apps on my iPad. Now I know I can transfer purchases by doing this...
My question is, is there a way to correlate all 3 accounts' Apps to one single account? That way I don't have to sign in and out for every account. I just hate having to call and ask for their login information everytime I want to get updates or transfer things from my iPad to my iMac. Obviously some of the Apps were installed on my iPad through their accounts by the use of their funds, and it's not like they would just appear on my iPad without them doing so. There must be a way to do this...

I have the same issue. I've heard at this time there is no way to consolidate accounts. Let's hope we'll be able to do it in the future!
