Question about warranty period

How long about the warranty period of mother board? (notebook model: Satellite L305-S5896)
I use it only 1 year and 4 months, now it can't power on.
The adaptor is ok, so I think the problem is the mother board.

You can contact Toshiba Tech suport and give them the serial number located on the bottom of you PC, They will tell you if it is still covered under a waranty.

  • Satellite P300D-10v - Question about warranty

    HI EVERYBODY
I have these overheating problems with my laptop Satellite P300D-10v.
I did everything I could do to fix it without any success..
I get the latest update of the bios from Toshiba. I cleaned my lap with compressed air first and then disassembled it all and cleaned it better.(it was really clean insight though...)
BUT unfortunately the problem still exists...
So i made a research on the internet and I found out that most of Toshiba owners have the same exactly problem with their laptop.
Well i guess this is a Toshiba bug for many years now.
Its a really nice lap, cool sound (the best in laptop ever) BUT......
So I wanted to make a question. As i am still under warranty, can i return this laptop and get my money back or change it with a different one????
If any body knows PLS let me know.
    chears
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
I have already found you other threads.
    Regarding the warranty question;
If there is something wrong with the hardware then the ASP in your country should be able to help you.
The warranty should cover every reparation or replacement.
But I read that you have disasembled the laptop at your own hand... hmmm if you have disasembled the notebook then your warrany is not valid anymore :(
I think this should be clear for you that you can lose the warrany if you disasemble the laptop!
By the way: you have to speak with the notebook dealer where you have purchased this notebook if you want to return the notebook
The Toshiba ASP can repair and fix the notebook but you will not get money from ASP.

  • Question about Warranty extension on Satellite A300-1EI

    Good day.
I need some information and assistance please.
I bought a laptop around mid September 2008 in Saudi Arabia. (Jarir Bokstore). The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty BUT they give you a further extension of a year (hence, 2 years in total).
I intended on purchasing an extended warranty for a three year period. I was told by the salesman that I can activate my "gift" warranty and later purchase another extendable warranty for a total of 4 year international coverage.
I registered the given warranty and it appears on the toshiba warranty portal.
However, when I returned to the store to purchase a further warranty extension I was told that you cannot register more than one warranty.
I found this strange and therefore did not purchase the additional extended warranty yet. I need to know whether this is actually true or will I still be able to purchase an extended warranty again. Seems I run into a brick wall when I ask the salemen . . .thought I would try the forum instead.
I need to get information from a reliable and trustworthy source.
The other news they also gave me is that they are awaiting news from Toshiba regarding the same subject.
    Kindly assist.
Thank you and eagerly awaiting a reply.
    Lukman

    Hi
As far as I know all Toshiba notebooks are covered by warranty for one year (12 month).
If you would register your notebook on the Toshiba European page you would get additional one year warranty; in total 2 years warranty.
    > The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty BUT they give you a further extension of a year (hence, 2 years in total).
The additional one year of warranty is not a gift from the shop. You will get this additional year of warranty always if you would register the notebook. It has nothing to do with the place where you have purchase this notebook.
    So now some words regarding your warranty extensions;
First of all you have to register your notebook on the Toshiba European page.
This registration will enable the additional second year of warranty. (as mentioned above)
Now if you want you can purchase further warranty packages.
Toshiba provides different packages and in your case I would recommend checking this Toshiba European page for more details:

  • Satellite M70-340: Question about warranty if I buy in Russia and move to Australia

I'd like to buy notebook Satellite M70-340 here in Russia. Next month I'm going to move to Australia. What about the warranty in this case?
Will I have to pay if some trouble occurs?
How can I recognise a laptop which is officially sold (= i mean legally delivered and has a worldwide warranty)?
Thanx a lot for your answer!

    Hi
I dont know what you mean with officially sold and I hope you will buy notebook in PC store and not on the street. As far as I know every new notebook has one year international warranty but if you will stay longer you can buy warranty extension. It must be buying by authorized service partner in your country.
If you have troubles in Australia go to service partner and they will check if the unit is stolen or official soled. After that it can be repaired. As I said, contact Authorized Toshiba service partner in Russia and ask for warranty extension.

  • Can't Decide on a PC and Question about warranty.

Hi. After seeing ALL that is available to me HP is the one. That is where the problem starts. I know the one I pick will be customized. But do I get the HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1400t Desktop PC or the HP ENVY h8-1520t Desktop PC? I will be doing the average stuff plus: editing photos, movies, burning CD/DVD and looking into gaming (very very new at gaming).
I have a budget my wife wont let me go over.So getting either PC will not be 100% to my likings. In order to get it 100% I will have to get a LIGHTSCRIBE BURNER and a 120GB SSD to add to the PC. Getting the SSD installed from HP puts me over budget and I will not get the extra burner. If I add those two thing to the PC myself will it  VOID out the warranty?
We will also be adding 2 more to the house. Laptop, Ultrabook or Tablet. I don't know which. Everything will need a recovery/boot. Optical drive may not be on all. What should I use; Dedicated Flash/Thumb drive for each or External hard drive(can all three be put on one) or should I make arrangements to put all on DVDs.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

To my knowledge, lighscribe is an outdated technology. There are not many Optical Drive manufacturers with lightscribe now.
Adding 128GB SSD will not void warranty.
Is is recommended to have a seperate 16GB/32GB flash drives depending on the recommendation of the system for keeping the recovery image.
I would recommend flash drives than disks.
    I am an HP employee.
    Regards,

  • Got a question about warranty...

hello, I've purchased an ipad 16G wifi about 10 months ago. I don't know why but now I see half of the screen in color changing lines. the touch works perfect in all of the screen. when I take a snapshot I can see the screen perfectly, w/o the colored lines on it, which means it's a screen problem (restoring didn't help).
I've checked the serial and I still got warranty, but the problem is, I don't have the proof of purchase with me... can I get a copy of that from apple? on mail or fax?

You don't need proof of purchase.
An offical product with a recognised serial number IS proof of purchase.
The owner of any Apple product within warranty (You) is entitled to warranty service on said product.
    End of story.
They HAVE to accomodate you with or without proof of purchase.
Call Apple support, request a repair.
    Quote the serial number.
Describe the problem, and they will arrange a repair/replacement for you.
    Regards,
    John

  • Question about warranty extension

    Hi
I got my satellite pro from UK, but I am not residing there. I am trying to buy warranty extension, but all the sites require UK credit card address. I contacted reseller in Egypt who said that I have to buy it from UK not Egypt, is it true? and how can I buy one?

    Hi Adham
As far as I know you can buy warranty extension in the country where you have bought your notebook. Maybe try to contact Authorized service Partner in UK and ask if you can buy it there. Money transfer should not be problem and the small box with warranty they can send you per post.

  • Basic questions about warranty and AppleCare.

First, although folks in another forum have said otherwise, staff at the New York Apple Store, and a customer sales person on the phone, said that installing 3rd party RAM myself voided the warranty. Is this true?
Second--via a link from one of the posts below, I read that the AppleCare service extends for three years from whenever you purchase it; I had previously had the impression that, if you bought it after 11 months, you only got 2 years and 1 month of AppleCare. Which is true?
    I got that from http://www.wiredbynature.org/comp/mac/macbook/mods.php

    Hello,
First, although folks in another forum have said
otherwise, staff at the New York Apple Store, and a
customer sales person on the phone, said that
installing 3rd party RAM myself voided the warranty.
    Is this true?
On some systems that require full disassembly, upgrading the memory can void your warranty. The Mac Mini comes to mind there. The Mac Mini's manual does not describe installing memory, and tells you not to service the machine at all.
But, the MacBook's manual does describe installing memory.
On page 79 of the MacBook's User's Guide, it says:
    Adding Memory to Your
    MacBook
    4
This chapter provides information and instructions for installing additional memory and for removing and replacing the battery in your MacBook.
Warning: Apple recommends that you have an Apple-certified technician install memory. Consult the service and support information that came with your computer for instructions on how to contact Apple for service. If you attempt to install memory and damage your equipment, such damage is not covered by the limited warranty on your computer.
Then, on the following page, it describes the steps to install the memory modules along with pictures of the process.
Second--via a link from one of the posts below, I
read that the AppleCare service extends for three
years from whenever you purchase it; I had previously
had the impression that, if you bought it after 11
months, you only got 2 years and 1 month of
    AppleCare. Which is true?
The AppleCare package extends your warranty coverage to a maximum of 3 years from the original date of the computer's purchase.
AppleCare must be purchased within the first year of the computer's warranty. It cannot be purchased after the 1-year warranty has expired (although Apple has occasionally permitted this when the warranty has only been expired for a day or so).
Information on AppleCare can be found here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/products/proplan.html
    Hope this helps.

  • Question about Custom Periodic IO Servers

I have some single-precision.  Are they also converted to 'variant', as stated here: (From Labview Help)
Use double-precision, string, and Boolean data types when you create a VI to convert into a custom I/O server. These data types are the most efficient to use when publishing data items. LabVIEW converts other data types to variants, which can slow down the performance of the server.

Thanks for the info.  Another question!!!  I actually have a total of 5 I/O Servers, communicating with different com ports, etc.
I have to have them launch in a certain order, so I have a Windows system service that launches first, upon reboot, and that task deploys each library associsted with the IO Servers.  I have come to the conclusion that I have to launch the library we have been discussing first.  If it is not first, it does not launch properly - I get Error Code: 1003.  As I said, it does return alot of values - 48 of them, mostly double, some string.  But otherwise, I have tried to make it as simple a VI as possible.  Any ideas as to why it has to be launched first?  I would really rather it be the 2nd one.  I have a I/O Server that controls an APC Switch, and one outlet on the switch turns on the power for the monitored hardware points, so that one really needs to launch first.
I might as well post my other question/concern.  My last IO Server is one that does not talk to any hardware.  It reads values from the other servers, does some math, and returns the values.  It contains my alarms variables.  It has no shared variables.  I read the variables via Open Variable Connection / Read Variable under the Shared Variable Node palette.  It runs properly if I launch it manually, but I get Error 1 when my Windows system Service launches it.  It contains no other subVIs besides the Shared Variable VIs I mentioned.  The IO Server VI only returns 4 values.  The rest of the shared variables in the library require no calculation, so they are bound to shared variables in other libraries - which have already been deployed by the time my Windows System Service launches this last one.  I have waits in my system service, to ensure that the other libraries have been launched.

  • Questions about warranty on an external hard drive?

So, last year (around Christmas) I purchased a 2TB Toshiba External Hrard Drive. I used it often, up until today. Today, it seems to have gone haywire, as it is making clicking and beeping noises. Every time it clicks or beeps, the light on the drive goes off, and the motor seems to slow. Occasionaly, it works, but only if it is perfectly stable. I suspect bad drive heads, explaining the beeping and clicking. When it beeps and such, it is not recognized, and when I try to register the product, looking for warranty information and replacement, it fails. What am I to do? I really do like this drive, and would like to get another one. Please help!

  • WRT54G Overnight Issue and Question about warranty

Well I haven't been around here since I first got my router and it wouldnt work...which was only 4 months ago.
I have a WRT54G that I use for my pc and Xbox Live and over the past 4 months it has been working fine, not great but good enough to make me happy.  I was playing xbox live yesterday up until 10 pm, then I went to bed. I woke up today at 6am and went to check my email...my internet connection is gone so I look at my router and NO LIGHTs are on. I unplug it and plug it back in and nothing, try it a few more times and it powers up but won't acknowledge my ethernet card and ALL the lights on it are on, no matter what I plug into which port.
So I'll probably have to return it as it seems dead? How long are the warranties on these products? I bought it at Best Buy, can I just bring it straight back to them?
    thanks

Anyone know if there's a no return policy on electronics at Best Buy? I'm going there tommorrow anyways but just wondering if anyone knows in advance so I can prepare myself for battle

  • I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty?

I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty? I want to know if the 3 year extended warranty covers what damage. Like water damage, accidental damage, lost or stolen macbook, manufactory defects, or any other kind of damage, maybe be even cosmetic damage. Can anyone help me?

If you are talking about features of the MBP itself, as long as you are not looking at  the Retina models, then the memory you can upgrade yourself for a lot less than Apple charges, and that does not affect the warranty as Apple considers memory a user permitted upgrade.  Great sources are Crucial and OWC, both are Mac specialists and have on-line videos on how to do the install.
If the 15" is what you are looking at, a good upgrade is the 7200 rpm hard drive, gives a little better performance over the standard 5400 rpm drive.
The Hi Res screen is good if you do a lot of graphics work.
Comparing the 13" amd 15" you will notice the 15" has a second, discrete graphic processor...helps when you get into heavy duty videos, games, graphics...but keep in mind that kicking in the second processor uses a lot of power and will run the battery down faster.
If you are looking at the Retina models, then keep in mind there are no post-purchase upgrade options...you have to buy with everything you want at the start.
    Just some thoughts.
