Question before installing Acrobat XI Pro...

If I install it, will I lose Adobe LiveCycle? I'm on Windows 7 with a Creative Cloud membership.

Hi Syrax12,
When you will install Acrobat XI, LiveCycle Designer ES2 installed with Acrobat X will be removed automatically from your machine.

While installing Acrobat XI Pro, the installation automatically rolls back and I get the message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07) could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." How to resolve it.
How do I modify the system.

    Hi Rgardezi,
The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
    1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
    2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.

  • Cannot install acrobat 9 pro updates on osx lion

    Hi,
I have not browsed through the forums here, so please forgive me if this question had been asked before. Are there known issues between Acrobat 9 Pro and OSX Lion? We have a user who has OSX 10.7.5 and Acrobat 9 Pro. He is not able to update Acrobat as there is no option to do so when he clicks on Help. He tried manually downloading and installing updates but when he is asked to select the copy of Adobe product to update, he only has the option to cancel.
I installed Acrobat 9 Pro on a Macbook running Mountain Lion and did not encounter any problem installing updates.
    Is this a known issue?
    Thanks,
    M

Hi, yes, understood that they are different things. However, if I'm to
rely on the link provided on the first reply then does it follow that 9
Pro is also not supported on Mountain Lion? I have a MACbook here on OSX
Mountain Lion, and as I've also mentioned on my first post, I was able to
install 9 Pro and update it as well.
It really is just odd that Lion is singled out here. I also checked this
and there is no mention of problems with updating 9 Pro:

  • Unable to install Acrobat XI Pro via CC

Whenever I try to install Acrobat 11 Pro it ends after 51% saying "the older version of Acrobat 11 Pro can not be removed". Well, there is no older version, I didn't install this software before, although I had Acrobat X previously on the machine which I deinstalled before. Are there any leftovers of the former installation? If so, how can I get my PC clean so XI will install? And: yes, I already tried the installation via "as administrator" with the same negativ result.
Besides that, dear developers at Adobe, the error message "7" is anything but helpful ("42" would have been more acceptable )

  • Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - More Functional Product Available

I am trying to install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my new PC. I get an error that a more functional product is avilable on my PC and the install closes. I installed Framemaker 10 before attempting Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I notice a folder in my files that is Acrobat 10 (but there is no icon or program option in the menus). Is this the problem? Do I need to uninstall Framemaker, then install Acrobat 9, and then reinstall Framemaker? Any help is appreciated.

See if you can install it via downloading it.  Just use the serial number from the disk to activate it...

  • Reader 9.4.x uninstall before installing Acrobat X?

Does Adobe Reader 9.4.x need to be uninstalled before installing Acrobat X? If I fail to do so, will Acrobat X become the default reader application assuming I do not alter the installation defaults? Is there any reason to keep Reader 9.4.x if I am installing Acrobat X? Should I upgrade to Reader X prior to installing Acrobat X? Thanks in advance for your prompt replies.

Having just spoken with "Sam" at Adobe technical support, it was suggested that I uninstall Adobe Reader prior to installing Acrobat X Pro. I was told that if I did not do so, it would prompt me to upgrade during the installation of Acrobat X since the version of Reader is 9.4.x and not version X (or above). I was also told that once Acrobat X Pro is installed, it will become the default application for handling PDF opening. If anyone has any additional or different information, please post it here.

  • Installing Acrobat 9 Pro on a virtual machine on my Mac using Parallels.  Not an upgrade but being asked what I upgraded from.

I'm installing Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows on a virtual machine on my Mac (running Parallels).  I successfully installed the same program using the same discs on the same Mac previously, but that virtual machine became corrupt and can no longer be launched.  For this re-installation, the installation sequence is asking what version I upgraded from - but as this is not an upgrade, I get stuck at that step and am unable to complete the installation.  What should my next step be?

    Hi Akselowner,
This error usually comes up if the serial number you are using is an Upgrade serial number.
In such a case the installer will prompt to enter the previous qualifying version serial number.
Please send me a private message with the serial number and I will validate and confirm that for you.
If you do not have the previous qualifying version serial number then the current serial number needs to be unlocked.
Please contact our customer service so that they can do the needful for you. You can even reach our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6

When trying to install Acrobat 11 Pro on my iMac (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, OS 10.8.3) I get an error message saying "installation failed" during the "validating packages" process. The software seems to run o.k., but I'm unable to apply any updates. Any suggestions?

  • Recently installed Acrobat XI pro on Windows 8.1, won't let me feed into scanner, forces me to scan pages one by one, how do I solve this?

I recently installed acrobat xi pro on windows 8.1. When I try to scan to create a pdf, it won't feed, instead it directs me to custom page and makes me create page by page. It's not a problem with my computer. How can I solve this? JK in Houston

    Hi jk in texas,
Since you're using Acrobat on Windows, you can set up a scanning preset that uses the scanner's TWAIN driver. When the automatic document feeder is loaded, use the preset to have Acrobat "talk" to the scanner. For information about setting up presets, see Acrobat Help | Scan documents to PDF.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Why can I not install Acrobat XI Pro on a Windows 8.1/64 machine?

Acrobat X Pro is running, but when I try to install Acrobat XI Pro through Adobe Creative Cloud on a Windows 8.1/64 machine it fails near the end of the installation.  It indicates that it failed with 7 errors, but nowhere are the errors accessible.  Can anyone help?

Were you logged in as the administrator and did you have anti-virus disabled? CC may have some special installation requirements and you need to check the CC forum for such information.
