Question: clean and use multiple System Preparation

Hi there, I am curious if this is possible:
- How to clean the system preparation once it is set up ? I mean, I can create a system preparation, but I'd like to
re-create it, and I dont see any "delete" button for erase the current system prep params.
- is it possible to have multiple system preparations profiles ? or is it one for each pool?
thanks again.
-Oswaldo

Hi Oswaldo,
You can edit the system preparation file using the 'Edit System Preparation File' link on the Cloning tab of a Pool. There is no delete action for the system preparation but you can use the 'Apply System Preparation' checkbox on the Cloning tab of a Pool to enable or disable its use during cloning which will give you a similar end result.
You can only have one system preparation file per pool

    Hi
    Receiver is FTP only.....
    SAP side is RFC.........
RFC sender will be initiating the scenario, and there is receiver is File, PI should go to file directory and take the file then send it back to RFC as response.
    Sender: RFC
    Receiver: File
    1. is this scenario with condition based routing.. so that each time outof many receiver systems it will trigger any specific system.
if above is the case then you can achive this without BPM also..
    Yes...its condition based routing...
I Used async in this scenario.....sender side configurations also done....
But when when I am triggering BAPI from SE37 I am getting an error

I checked the RFC destination which i created in TCP/IP..a nd i mentioned the same in se37 RFC target system..

  • How to set up and use multiple Ext HD compatible with Windows w/o emulating

I am in deep doodle and confused, sit down and get a cup of coffee cuz is going to be loooooong.
I need some suggestions for my present situation. I have posted a similar question but I only got partial answer and I need to complete this task.
I migrated to my Mac from Windows, and I still have a Windows XP laptop. At first, I formatted my Ext HD as FAT 32 but I noticed that it was too slow. I was suggested to reformat the drives back to Journal. However, recently I had to replace my internal HD and backed up all my data to several Ext. HD. Oh brother what a mistake, while my Mac was at Apple I couldn't get access to my files using my Windows XP laptop because all drives were formatted as Journal (only for Mac).
At the moment, I have the following:
1- Seagate (350 GB orig)- complete back up images 110 GB avail
    2- Maxtor ( 500 GB orig) - " " second copy 330 GB avail
3- Old int w/ casing(150 GB orig) 3rd copy 78 GB avail - is working but not sure if it will last, I had this DR for a long time. All 3 DRs formatted as Journal
4- Western Dig 1TB (new FW) 1TB avail
I realized that at the rate that I am shooting I would be running out of space on the current Drives. So I bought 1TB Ext HD FW, but I am in great need from others with more experience than me in setting up a strategy to back up and using my Ext HD. I only use the Int. HD DR 250 GB for Apps only, anything else I use exclusively my Ext HD.
So I would like to know which drive should I use as my primary one, and how I should set up the other subsequent drives as shown above. Do you think that I should reformat all the drives back to FAT 32, (what a task)? I'm also aware the 4 GB limitations. Or should I just format to FAT 32 the 1 TB, and can I partition the this drive and Format each partition with different format,ie. a couple NTFS and one FAT32.
    Thanks in advance to all

You can also share a printer between the Mac/PC as well as files and mounted Volumes, see the Tiger articles here
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/
You may want to use Bonjour for Windows on your PC
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bonjour/
Then there are VNC clients for Mac/PC that also allow you to actually control the other machine, if they aren't in the same room and you just need to check something quick that can be handy, it's kind of slow though for regular use.
The main benefit of partitioning is being able to have different versions of bootable OS on them. You can try out Leopard on a new partition, while keeping your Tiger partition intact, you can have a XP/Vista partition for parallels or BootCamp, etc... other than that drives are pretty much fast enough, having smaller partitions probably won't realize any significant speed ups over searching the whole large drive.

  • Can i daisy chain external drives and use multiple disks for my iTunes libraries

It's amazing how much content you can acquire. I've filled my 2TB external drive with content. I purchased another drive and daisy chained them. How do I get additional uploads to automatically go to the new drive? Itunes is indicating that the drive is "full".
Please help! I've got 6 downloads effectively "paused"

No, sorry, Time Machine can only back up to a single volume.
Short of getting a larger disk, your best bet is to back up one drive (probably the OSX drive) with Time Machine, and use a different app to back up the other one to a different drive.  See the green box in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #27 for some suggestions.

  • Backups, Transfers, and Booting Multiple Systems

Sorry if I'm not supposed to be combining multiple questions into one post; I can start separate threads if need be.
    In any event.
1.) If I have an admin account (and the ability to log in as root if need be) and a copy of something like Tinkertool which reveals normally invisible files, is it possible to create a bootable clone of an OSX 10.4 system via drag-and-drop as was the case on OS 9?
2.) What is the bare minimum that OSX needs to run? How much of the system folder can I throw away and still be able to boot from the drive in question? Is there anything outside the system folder that it needs? (I've never tried booting a volume without any user accounts on it, for example.)
3.) Is it possible to have two operating systems (10.4 and 10.5) on the same partition and boot from either one easily?
4.) If I have two operating systems (again, 10.4 and 10.5), whether on the same partition or on separate partitions, how do I convince them to share user accounts between them?
    Thanks for any help.

I have Tiger installed on a 6GB drive. I booted from it once to make sure it was okay, then shut down. I would never consider actually using it on that drive.
An installation may put on a bunch of applications, utilities. While the computer may not fail if you delete some of the utilities, most are pretty handy.
Then too you might save a total of 50MB by trashing them so it is not worth it. You could delete a number of applications such as itunes and Safari.
Doing a custom installation provides you with as slim a version of OSX as you're likely to get.

  • Clean Install - use MSI System Drivers?

I have a question regarding a clean install.
Install operating system -> MSI Chipset Drivers then update on top using ATI Catalyst 8.4?, Realtek Audio Drivers and finally Realtek PCI-E Lan Drivers.
What is difference between the MSI Drivers and the Catalyst suite?  They same to be the same:
    Catalyst Control Centre
    ATI Install Manager
    North Bridge Filter Driver
    ATI Display Manager
    IDE Driver
    Microsoft Visual C++
    ATI Unified Stream Driver
except the MSI Drivers adds Avivo64 Driver
Also, I thought it was always best to unistall all ATI drivers before upgrading? - at least that is the concensus on the AMD forum.
    Any advice is appreciated.

    MSI K9A2CF BIOS ver 1.5B1

    ATI Radeon 2900XT
    OCZ PC2-6400 800Mhz 2 x 1024
    Seagate 500GB 16MB cache SATA-2 HD
    Mitsumi 1.44 internal 3.5 floppy / 6 in 1 card reader
    Samsung 206BW

    I guess that's where I'm confused.
It dosen't appear that the MSI system drivers are any different than the ATI catalyst drivers.  The only difference is that the MSI drivers wanted to install Avivo64 on my system.  Going to the ATI Catalyst site, it offers Avivo64 as a seperate download, but "Avivo Video Converter will only work with X1000 series products."   http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista64/common-vista64  I have a 2900XT.
The Realtek audio and PCIe Ethernet drivers to install from the MSI site are in this case up to date and make sense.
So to ask in a different way, is there a problem with:  OS first -> then the ATI Catalyst Suite (system drivers and display driver) - NOT install the MSI system drivers which appear to be outdated and the same as the ATI Catalyst Suite- then the Realtek Audio Driver, and finally the Realtek PCIe Ethernet driver.
    Thanks

  • How can I listen to the music/songs or watch the movies in my iTunes library if I've damaged/lost my iPod and use a system-reovered/new computer?

I accidentally dropped my iPod Classic 160 GB into the toilet
bowl of my home sometime ago, and unfortunately enough,
as misfortunes seldom come singly, I got a serious problem
with my computer ( an HP Desktop) and had to do the system
recovery which, as you know, removes everything in the system
drive. After having reinstalled iTunes, I thought I should be able
to listen to the music I kept in the Library of iTunes, but I don't
see any of my music/songs or movies there. Thus come my
    three questions below:
    1) How can I locate and enjoy the music or movies I saved in
the iTunes Library with a computer after its system recovery
    or even a new computer?
    2) Like the current situation I'm in, when my iPod is damaged
or lost, can I still enjoy the music or movies saved in the
iTunes Library from my computer ( meaning without an iPod)
if I have the iTunes application installed in it? How? Do I have
to sign in my account? Sign in with my e-mail address saved
in my account? Where can I find the sign-in webpage of iTunes?
(Please provide me with the related link of the webpage.)
    3) The above issue brings up another question, are the music/songs
and movies as well as other programs in the iTunes Library saved
in my computer or in Apple's server?
Please, with your kind patience, let me know as detailed as possible.
And also let me know what Apple's e-mail address I can use to ask
for support on such issues as described above? Although I always
prefer asking for support or help by e-mail, I would also appreciate
if you could let me know the phone number I can use to ask for
    such help.
    Best regards,
    Lawrence Wood

System Recovery generally assumes you have backed up your data somewhere first. If not, you're in trouble.
Depending on your region you can recover most of your previous iTunes purchases. Install iTunes. Use Store > Authorize This Computer... and Store > Sign In... then select iTunes Store in the left-hand column and click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right. You should now be looking at a list of past purchases that you can download to your computer.
See also: HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Your purchase history is preserved on Apple's servers. Anything you ripped from CD or downloaded from elsewhere was stored on your computer and should have been backed up.
There is no live telephone support for iTunes issues. For problems with a particular purchase contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support. For general issues with usage this is the place to get help.

  • Using multiple systems for Iphone development?

    Hi,
I have been using a borrowed macbook to start with IPhone development.
Today I purchased my own MacBook and after installing the IPhone SDK, I plugged in my IPhone and was presented with a message saying that my IPhone was flagged as development on another machine. I had an option to continue or quit, so obviously I continued.
Will this cause any problems further down the line?
Has my IPhone been 'reflagged' as a development for my Macbook?
    Thanks

    Mohammed Sadiq wrote:
Can we use c++ to develop applications for iPhone
    Yes.
.... If so, how it is advantageous over objective C ?? ...
It's disadvantageous since the only top layer API available for native iPhone apps is Cocoa. Every time a C++ program needs to make a call into the UIKit framework, it must use Obj-C and it may be necessary to wrap that Obj-C in additional code to implement the interface. While Xcode (with a little help from gcc) makes it easy to mix C++ with Obj-C in the same file, a C++ class can't be made from an Obj-C parent and vice-versa.
Common reasons for using C++ in an iPhone app are: 1) A static library that wants a C++ interface is needed; 2) An app written in C++ is being ported to the iPhone; 3) The developer is much more comfortable with C++ and wishes to avoid Obj-C as much as possible. This can work if most of the app is OpenGL for example. In that case, only one short Obj-C file is necessary and most of that will be available as a Cocoa template.
    Hope that answers your question!

Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL), which is based on RHEL source, does not contain everything you need to create an XFS filesystem.

    Hi,
One thing you can do in the FOX would be to mark all fields in 'to be changed'. This will have the impact of having all data in the same data package and the FOX code will execute only once.

  • Can you make a page layout and use multiple pictures on one page for a slide presentation?

I thought I remebered seeing a tutorial on how to make page layouts for use in your slide presentations. I can not find this now. I am using the theme of scrapbook but have several pictures that should go together on one page or frame. I do not have iphoto11. So I am more limited I think. I do not have time to upgrade at this point. Is there anyway to customize my slide presentation in this way?

    Hi
Yes You can in iDVD make it to add a folder with Your pictures too (to be opened on PC/Mac - not viewed on DVD-player)
    Two ways
    • iDVD menu - down to Preferences and then select like this
or by using "Editing for DVD-ROM"

  • Is it ok to remotely clean and boost the system?

I want to know about Mac keeper.

Hang garlic on your monitor instead. It won't hurt your computer, and it might keep MacKeeper away.
MacKeeper has a very, very bad rep among the Mac service community. Try a Google search, or look around the forums here a little.
In any case, your Mac takes care of itself, especially if it's running Snow Leopard (10.6) or later. Only in rare cases or special circumstances should you ever need to manually run maintenance routines. And there's no such thing as a "boost" for the system; any application or web service that claims to be able to do that for you is suspect.

  • I have created and used multiple music libraries but I now find that my actual song les have picked up a prefix on the file location of file://localhost.

Why has this happened and what is the easiest way of removing the prefix.

Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

  • Solve Drive self-ejects and System Hangs when using MULTIPLE external drives!

I've discovered what I think is the underlying reason for many folks reporting similar problems.  I bet that I can predict the GUIDs of the drives/docks/cases you're having trouble with!  I bet that if you look in Disk Utility, if you click on the drives, you'll find "Connection ID 13757101839304263"!
Oh and if you look in System Profiler and click on 'FireWire' or 'USB' you'll find the GUID 0x30E002E0454647 !
What are the odds?  I shouldn't be able to predict them; theyr'e supposed to be unique, after all, but google that number and you'll see that a great many devices all use that GUID.   (13757101839304263 in decimal is the same thing as 30E002E0454647 in hex.)
Mac OS seems to rely on them to be unique, and has fits when they aren't.  I haven't found a total solution yet, but in the meantime, running this in Terminal can help:
    sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleFWOHCI.k ext/
Sometimes it helps to run this first to unload before loading the kext (kernel extension):
    sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleFWOHCI.k ext/
Enter your password if/when prompted, of course.
In most cases, if you contact your hard drive manufacturer, they'll provide a utility that will fix the drive so that it actually has a truly unique GUID.
I'm mad at Cavalry for hiding the problem and refusing to fix it, W.R.T. the two 1TB HDs I bought from them for around $500, when that was the going price.
I figured it'd be helpful to create a user tip off the discussion in this thread: Disk Drive ejecting itself - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2151621?start=615&tstart=0     This is my first attempt to create a tip.  I'm not sure I'm doing it right, but here goes.

Sorry but this is just a really bad idea.
    1. The airport is ancient.. your speed will be terrible.
    2. Hubs filled with USB drives are never reliable.. disks refuse to spin up.. become unavailable.
    No.. don't do it.
Plug USB3 hub into the mini and use multiple decent hard drives .. that is fine.. use thunderbolt hub.. use thunderbolt drives if you can afford it.. but never use USB drives on the network.
    3. Time Machine is not reliable to external drive on Airport Extreme.. Apple do not support it in any Extreme except the latest one.
If you want the material available to the network buy a NAS. You can buy a cheap NAS of 8TB or so and another 8TB of USB drives which you plug into the NAS for backup.. however.. iphoto is not supposed to ever be put on network drives..
Apple explicitly states you will corrupt it.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5168 Although mostly about FAT32           it adds network drives.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1198
    And I quote
It's recommended that you store your iPhoto library on a locally mounted hard drive. Storing your iPhoto library on a network share can lead to poor performance, data corruption, or data loss. If you use both iPhoto and Aperture with the same library, using a Mac OS X Extended formatted volume is recommended. For more information, see Aperture: Use locally mounted Mac OS X Extended volumes for your Aperture library.
For backup of the drives.. use Carbon Copy Cloner.. it is much better than TM as you can setup different job.. TM is really a single function.. !!
