Question - composition lightbox display bug

When I add additional triggers to the composition lightbox display the caption boxes on the additional containers disappear. They appear with the original 3 triggers that come with the widget, but they are not present on any other additional triggers. ???

Hello,
In the composition Lightbox Display, caption is nothing but a Text Frame. You can go to any previous Target > select the caption text frame > copy it > Paste it in New target.

I created this effect using the “Basic” tool in the “Slideshow widgets library”
I used two slideshow images.
IMAGE ONE
The first slideshow image on the screen is setup without any background/outline fill.
Since this shows automatically when you first display the page.
The trigger is also set to no outline/fill (its active state).
The text I added is also set with no fill. (its active state)
The second slideshow image has the trigger menu with a grey background,
IMAGE TWO
When you activate the menu button (or trigger), the second slideshow image appears with the Menu item widget placed inside. The first slideshow button highlighted in grey now appears with the text “close” showing. (both set as its normal states). When you mark close button the menu will slide off the screen and the “close text and highlight box will disappear.
Note: this setup will have to be placed on every slide, since placing it on the master page will default to the back.

Lightbox Display - lost 'next' button

Hello.
I'm using the 'Composition > Lightbox Display' widget and i'm having trouble replacing the previous/next image buttons that should appear with the image once triggered.
I have tried selecting and deselecting the option "Show Prev" etc. but the button still isn't anywhere to be seen.
As far as i know i haven't deleted these buttons, they have simply vanished. Please help me locate/replace them!

Here are the facts:
1. Even if you accidentally delete the buttons you can bring them back by selecting the show options, by clicking on the small blue arrow.
2. Since, you have already tried that, it is also possible that you have send the buttons back accidentally. So, you can try to move the lightbox and hero around to see if you can find it or use the arrange feature as shown in the video to bring it to the front.

A Problem with the Lightbox Display since the update.

I use the lightbox display widget within the featured news widget. Since the update when I add the lightbox to an image it appears on all the featured news tabs when it should only be on the tab I place it in. This didn't happen before the update. Any ideas why this would be or how I can correct it. Strangely, the images with a lightbox made before the update are fine.

I'm unable to reproduce the problem. Can you try re-inserting the Featured News Composition widget on a page and after removing the Text frame (optional step) from the Target of the first tab, insert the Composition: Lightbox Display into the Target of the first tab. Then try switching between the tabs in Design mode and see if the problem persists at your end, also try a preview in browser. The Lightbox Display should appear only for the first tab and other Targets should remain untouched.

How can I change the order of thumbnails so it affects the order in the lightbox when using the composition widget - lightbox display?

Hi, I'm making my portfolio in Muse, and I'm using the composition widget - lightbox display. I imported all the images and then I wanted to reorganize the thumbnails - and when I do that, the order in the lightbox doesn't change and so it's not the same as the order of the thumbnails (after rearranging them). Please let me know if there is a way to fix this quickly, or do I have to do it all one more time

The order the items display in a composition widget is the front to back order of the items. You can rearrange the stacking order of the thumbnails/triggers using the Layers panel and/or the Object > Bring To Front, Send To Back, etc. menu items to adjust the order they're displayed during auto play or when clicking the next/previous buttons.

Why can't I reduce the height of my container box in the Lightbox Display composition widget?

I'm using the Lightbox Display composition widget, I would like to place my trigger at the bottom of my lightbox, I've reduced the height of my image frame but the container box cannot be reduced accordingly. I need to reduce the height of the container box or my triggers will be hidden behind the box. Please advice, thank you.

When you insert the light box display, by default it has 3 slides with different components like trigger, container, target, image frame, text box, next button, preview button. You have to change the dimensions for all components for these default 3 images one by one.
Or you can delete 2 of the triggers (that will resul in deleting all of their components from the widget), then you are left with only one image and its components. Later, you can add more images to lightbox display.
Resize the components as per following video:

The steps are, after you have added the widget on the page:
Delete the triggers.
Then select Image frame, resize it. Move close button near it (the 'X' button), resize the text box,resize next and previous buttons and move all of these near the image frame.
Then click on the image frame, till you get "Target" area selected, resize target area and container will be resized automatically.

Update - Lightbox Display Centering Issue

Upon updating my Adobe Muse software, it appears its created an issue that effects my lightbox display composition widgets. They don't seems to be centered in the webpage anylonger? Help?

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately you hit a bug that causes the lightbox to be off center. This happens if the Target inside the Container for each Composition widget has different strokes for different states.
Until we release a fix for the bug, please make sure you use the same stroke for all the states of a Target, or do not use a stroke at all for that Target. In your case, the Normal/Rollover/Mouse Down states all have a red stroke, while the Active state has no stroke. You can easily select each Target using Layers panel, and then from the states panel select the Active state and use the delete button from the lower-right corner to clear that state's customizations, including stroke.

Odd desktop/display bug - how to reset user display settings?

Greetings all,
I woke up yesterday morning to a puzzling problem with my G5. I logged in and started working - and I needed to use the windows remote desktop client to shell into a machine at work. I noticed that the fonts looked sort of funny (randomly quished) so I logged out and then back in. Then I noticed that the problem was not in the RDC display, but in the display of my mac.
This is sort of hard to describe w/out actually seeing it, but here goes...
When I move my mouse across the desktop (or what ever apps I have open) and the mouse pointer moves across and invisible (yet perceptible) line on my screen real estate, my background, icons, parts of displayed apps and fonts "shift". This causes fonts in the affected are to get messed up and causes general display irritation. That's the best way I can describe it, it's sort of a "you have to see it" problem. I will also note that this problem did not arise after an update or a software install or weird crash. Just another day.
So first I tried messing with my display settings (change resolution, color profiles, setting the background to a solid color, turning off screen saver). Rebooting. Nothing. Still there.
So next I log into another account (the root account). Ah ha! No display problems! Tried creating another user-level account. No problems there either. Now we're getting somewhere - it's something that is effecting my main user account and not a problem with my monitor, video card or OS. That's good.
So since then I've tried:
- Grooming the disc that my home directory lives on with DiskWarrior.
- Repaired permissions.
- Deleting the contents of home/Library/Fonts in case it's some funky font rendering issue causing this.
- Deleted the contents of home/Library/Preferences/MicroSoft to get any of its potential badness out of my life.
- Scanning with FontDoctor looking for bad fonts.
- Deleted my desktop and finder plist files.
- General maintenance and cache cleaning (including the MS font cache) with Onyx.
- Booting to Safe Mode.
Nothing. The display problem persists afflicting that one user account. All other accounts (root, and a second user-level account residing on the same disc) are free of these problems even though they are all using the same display settings (monitor, resolution, color profiles, etc). And as already noted, this problem was not "brought on" by anything like an update, installation, preferences modification or fatal seeming crash of an app.
So, my question to all you good people is: what am I missing, what might be causing this and what else can be scrubbed from that account (cache, plist files, etc etc) that might be harboring and causing this display bug? I would really rather solve this problem than go through the very very arduous task of moving all of my stuff to another account (an option, but a very unattractive one).
I was not a mac user during the OS 9 days, but I remember my co-workers doing the "rebuilding the desktop" dance. I realize that this is no longer an issue, but I guess I'm looking for something like that. I need to remove any and everything from my user account that has anything to do with display and font rendering since it's obviously some setting lurking in that account causing the issue.
I googled and searched the forums for this yesterday but could not come up with anything like it and all of the maintenance tasks I tried have not worked.
Any ideas?

try with another one) at the DVI cable connecting the
display.
I did check my connections, but also, why would a faulty DVI cable only cause problems with a single user account and none of the others?
If you want to reset the display settings, start in
Safe Mode, and trash these files:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist
/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.a
pple.windowserver.some_number.plist
If I were at home now, I would try and report back. But I'm not. I'll definitely give it a try as soon as I can. Thanks for the pointer!

Text frame rollover states in lightbox display comp widget trigger area no longer working in V 3.0

I had text frames with rollover states placed into the trigger area of lightbox display composition widgets
The rollover on the text worked fine, and then when clicked the lightbox composition widget opened
However this morning I updated Muse to the latest version 3.0 (which I was prompted to do) But now all these text frame rollover states no placed into the trigger areas of my lightbox dispslay composition widgets no longer work throughout my entire document
The lightbox will open when I click the text, but the rollover effect will no longer work
Is anyone having the same problem? Is there a way I can fix this? I was supposed to send the site to a client this morning :\

Yes. I'm having the same type of trouble with a site I'm updating for a client. I haven't updated the site since before version 2.0.
But now that I've upgraded to version 3.0 my rollovers and linking for the rollovers don't work. Very strange. I too need to get
the site posted ASAP. Please someone help us on this subject.

When I click the new Composition Lightbox Muse crashes

-When I click the newly added (empty) composition box to work with it Muse crashes. I have 9 lightboxes and the newly created 10th composition is the one which causes the crash. All the others behave normally. The others have roll over images and text and on click they have vimeo videos, images and text in the lightbox display.
Currently I can't even click on the new composition to delete it without Muse crashing.
I have the current 7.3.5 build and I am running on macbook pro 10.9.2

Does the crash present an error dialog? An Apple crash report? Other?
Are you using a Mac produced in 2006-2009? What version of Adobe AIR do you have installed. (The AIR version is available in the About Adobe Muse dialog.)

Help with configuring lightbox displays

Can anyone point me to some detailed explanation of how to configure a lightbox (nested in a slide show) - when I preview in browser the images are not central, and the black doesn't cover the whole page when viewed on an iPad.
I'm pretty sure this is not a bug, just inexperience on my part, and I'd love to see a breakdown of best settings for all the elements in a lightbox.
For instance, the black background square - I've dragged that to fill the page width and height, but is this necessary? I've tried various iterations of size and placement of this in design view, but can't quite how (or even if) that effects the way the lightbox displays in browser
And I'm aligning the images in the lightbox sideshow with the centre of the page in design view, but they don't seem central when the sideshow is previewed in browser.
Whilst there are a few tutorials that cover creating light boxes, I've not seen anything that explains the configuration in detail. In essence I feel like I'm looking for a user guide, the kind of thing that used to come with boxed copies of Adobe and Macromedia software, so I can teach myself from the ground up; does any such thing exist online?

apologies, I got my description the wrong way round (can't see a way to edit my original post). I'm talking about a slideshow nested in a lightbox - just like the post you pointed me to. I had seen that post, but it doesn't answer my query really.
What I'd like to be able to do is in design mode, whilst editing the slideshow, have some sense of how these images are going to appear when I see them in a browser, without having to flip back and forth between design and preview modes.
For instance if I want to have the image centred within the browser window - do I need to centre the hero image within the slideshow container? The slideshow widget within the lightbox container? Or should I use the guide rectangle (don't know what it's called, or even what it is!) that appears on the page when I have guides switched on, as a guide to placement of slideshow images. I'm sure it's basic stuff, I just wondered if there was a user guide that I could reference when I want to figure out how to do a particular thing,

Composition Lightbox editing issues

I am struggling with Compostion/Lightbox Display/ to embed videos frmo Vimeo.
When I want to add more thumbnails at the top it is difficult to place the video.
The first three work, but when I hit the arrow to add a fourth and then embed the fourth target, ... instead it edits the the third target instead.

I'm unable to reproduce the problem with embedding a video on an additional fourth target in a Composition Lightbox.
The default three Target Containers have an Image frame within their targets. However, when you add more slides to the Composition, they just have an empty Container where you would be placing the HTML embedding code for the video.
I would suggest removing the Image frames from the Containers of the first three targets as well (in order to maintain consistency) and place video on each of the Target containers. The default Fill color for the Container is black so you might find it a little inconvenient noticing the placed HTML unless you hover over the container or change the color of the Container (as the Youtube player frame is black in color too, probably the same for Vimeo)
If the above doesn't help, please try re-inserting the Composition Lightbox and follow the above steps.

Super Widgets: placing lightbox display inside a basic slideshow?

Is it possible to place a lightbox display inside of a basic slideshow?
I have a rotating group of nine images and text inside of a basic slideshow, these images are thumbnails of motion graphic videos I have uploaded to youtube. I would like to be able to hotspot either the text, thumbnail or box, to open the corresponding video in a lightbox; but I can't seem to insert the lightbox into the basic slider.
Is there another way around this? Am I using the wrong widgets? I've tried to use the lightbox alone, but I was not able to upload a thumbnail and video at the same time.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi there.
It is not possible to place a Lighbox widget in a Slideshow widget, but you could achieve the same effect by placing a Lightbox widget in a Composition Slideshow widget (look in the Compositions folder). Many of the same slideshow effects can be achieved, yet it allows widget nesting.
Let me know how that goes.

Photoshop CS4 Menu toolbar display bug and fullscreen slowness...

I'm having a display bug with the menu toolbar in Photoshop CS4 Extended. Notice the area of tools is gone and replaced by random pixels? This happens whenever I enter the fullscreen mode that hides the interface. And when I exit that fullscreen mode, that bug appears and doesn't fix itself until I restart Photoshop. Can this be fixed?
Image view rotation also happens much slower than normal in that fullscreen mode when interface is hidden. But performs normally after I bring back the interface.
I'm on WinXP, Athlon 64 4000+, 3GB ram, GeForce 6800 GT video card [driver 169.21]. I'm not sure if this is a video driver bug or CS4 bug.

Yeah, Dave, I can understand how that can happen. I've seen that sort of weirdness when I've seriously overtaxed my hardware.
 
 Had way too much running all at once yesterday, switched over to Firefox, and clicking on folders in the Bookmarks bar, I had 4 bookmark/folder menus dropped simultaneously.
 
 I managed to grab a screenshot with 2 of them showing, but man! You shoulda seen it with 4!
 
 I ESC'ed out, quit GarageBand (had a song project of several hundred MB going) and all was fixed.

Minor display bug in JDev 11g "View Annotation" with Subversion

Hi all,
A very minor visual display issue with the "View Annotations" feature of JDev 11g when using a Subversion repository. To reproduce, simply follow these steps:
1). Open up any source file and right-click in the editor; select Versioning -> View Annotation. The annotations will be shown, and if you right-click again, you will see a check-mark next to the "View Annotation" menu item.
2). Open another source file. Annotations are not shown. Right-click in the editor; you will see that "View Annotation" menu item displays a check-mark (even though annotations are not shown). Select Versioning -> View Annotation. Annotations are now shown, but you will see the check-mark is no longer displayed.
To summarize my analysis; it appears that "View Annotation" was intended to be a global setting (as indicated by the check-mark), but is actually implemented on a file-by-file basis. Obviously a very minor display bug not affecting functionality, but a bug nonetheless.
